It’s unfortunate that I have to leave a review like this, but I do NOT recommend DSM Dance Party. Specifically Marty. I initially booked Marty because of the raving reviews and wonderful social media presence, but my experience was anything but good. Marty was contracted to be at my wedding by 2 pm Sat., 12/2/23. At 3:20 pm, 40 MINUTES before my ceremony was scheduled to start, we realized he was not there. We called him and he stated he had a “flat tire” but had a “team” on their way. He also said he had called my venue and explained the situation to them, which was a complete lie. After we talked to him and realized we wouldn’t have his services during the ceremony, the venue was able to contact him to get the songs for the ceremony and they had a mic and speakers we were able to use. The “team” arrived at 3:55 pm, or 5 MINUTES before my ceremony. They had to wait until the ceremony was over before they could start setting up and ended up setting up during cocktail hour. Marty was supposed to play a list of songs I had provided for cocktail hour, but he was the only one with the list. Instead of enjoying cocktail hour and talking to guests, we had to consider what to do if Marty didn’t show up at all because his “team” had no idea why he still had not arrived. Marty still wasn’t there by 5:30 pm and the food was ready to be served, so we asked the “team” to handle the grand entrance so we could then start dismissing tables for dinner. It was at that point we discovered the “team” he sent DID NOT INCLUDE A DJ and they were only there to setup/tear down. We again started to panic because they refused to announce the bridal party so we started searching for someone in the crowd to announce. Thankfully a “team” member agreed to announce. It wasn’t perfect but we had 250+ people waiting to eat. Marty finally arrived around 6:45 pm (over 4 hours late!) and then there was an issue with the speakers so we had another delay before we could start speeches and first dances. Despite all of this, I still held out hope that Marty would “make it right” as he kept repeating. He informed the venue he intended to issue a full refund. When he didn’t contact us Monday morning, my mom called, texted and emailed. He finally responded and called my mom and was completely unprofessional, unaware and oblivious to any stress he caused us, and said he provided services pursuant to industry standards because he’s “the best DJ in the state.” Instead of trying to make things right, he told my mom “sometimes things don’t go as planned” but he could see that everyone had a great time, so he was confident he delivered his agreed upon services. I’m disappointed and honestly disgusted in the way that my family and I were treated on MY WEDDING DAY. I work in customer service and understand that some things are just out of our control, but this was ridiculous. Marty had an opportunity to change this around and rectify what happened, but he simply chose not to. The only reason my wedding day wasn’t a complete disaster was because of my venue and photographer, (both who are able to back up everything I’m saying). Please, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Riley was absolutely amazing! He crushed it! Very engaging with the crowd and kept our guests on the dance floor all night long. Riley was very easy to work with the day of the wedding and eased any nerves the wedding party had. It genuinely seems like Riley loves what he does and has an absolute blast doing it. We had several guests ask for his business card during the wedding and are interested in his services out of state. 11/10 recommend having Riley as your DJ, you won’t regret it!

Christian was the DJ at our recent wedding in Des Moines on 5/6/23. We couldn’t recommend DSM Dance Party DJs enough - Christian was amazing, he was good at reading the room and vibe and kept our dance floor packed all night. They were so responsive during the whole process and provided several opportunities for check-ins and questions. I really appreciated that they conducted their business online so the timelines, portals and meetings were always easy to work with (we were planning our wedding from Chicago). We also rented the photo booth for our event and our guests had so much fun with it - great add on. Thanks Christian and DSM Dance Party DJs!

I can't thank DSM Dance Party DJ's enough for making our wedding so amazing. When we originally started looking for DJs, I knew I wanted someone that could make our reception feel like a club experience. We came across DSM Dance Party DJ's when starting our initial wedding vendor hunt. Once we met with Marty, we knew we had found our DJ vendor. Marty made the whole process extremely easy and it was centered towards what we wanted. I LOVE music, so this part of the wedding planning process was very important to me. As we neared our wedding date, we had the opportunity to meet and work with Riley Schneekloth. And WOW. I cannot recommend Riley enough. Riley made sure we felt at peace, our guests were engaged, and everyone could have the time of their lives. If you want a DJ that makes your wedding reception feel like a club, Riley is your guy. I have had so many guests reach out to me complimenting how amazing he was and how much fun they had. I wish we were getting married again, just so we could hire Riley. I can't recommend this DJ company enough. 10/10 would recommend!

DSM Dance Party DJs were great to work with!! We paid extra to reserve a specific DJ from their team and boy was it worth it! Riley was the perfect emcee for the evening and made our experience so fun. We met with Riley virtually a couple of times before our big day to get everything planned out and he had so many great ideas and was able to accommodate everything we wanted! We also had a photo booth in our package which was really fun! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they misspelled our last name on the photobooth strips.

I've worked with DSM Dance Party DJs a few times and they are easily one of my favorite DJ companies! As a wedding planner, it can be difficult to find quality vendors to recommend to couples, but I ALWAYS recommend couples book with these guys! So far I have worked with Marty and Christian, and they are both awesome! I can't wait to work with these guys again and meet even more of their amazing DJs!

They were so organized throughout the entire planning process and were incredible at the ceremony and reception! They timed each song perfectly for the ceremony and kept the reception fun even after most of our guests left! They were also great at getting out there and teaching a couple dances to the songs! I cannot recommend these guys enough!

Riley was an amazing guy with a great personality! He was incredibly accommodating with the venue, weather, and last minute changes. He also gave advice when necessary which went so far. Riley was able to improve the atmosphere with his DJ experience and witty personality. His clever jokes before the ceremony really took the edge off on a nerve wrecking day. The Photo Booth by DSM Dance was a big hit on our wedding day.

We hired them to do some special effects for our first dance and exit at our wedding on 6/4/22 this weekend and it was everything we wanted and envisioned and more! We did the dancing on a cloud, sparkler fountains, and had a slide show playing in the background during our first dance and also used the sparkler fountains for our exit. Marty was AMAZING, super detail oriented, and ensured that everything was perfect and exactly how we wanted it. We got so many compliments and everyone loved it! They are also extremely easy to work with and make the process super simple and stress free! 12/10 recommend hiring them for your next event!

A complete must have for your wedding. When they say they will feel the vibe of crowd and keep people on the dance floor, they meant it. All night, I had people come up and tell me how much they liked the dj (DJ Marty). Been to a few weddings this year and I don't think one dj kept the floor full expect them. Makes me wanna have another wedding...... with my wife again haha

I found DSM through the owner - DJ Marty McFly! We wended up booking with Riley and his assistant. DJ Riley was absolutely amazing! He went above and beyond to make the planning seamless and the event one of the best nights ever. I had countless guests come up and sing high praises about Riley.

Awesome tunes at the wedding I was at over the weekend. The DJ did a fantastic job playing great music that got everyone going on the dance floor! Impeccable timing and amazing execution!

Went to an event recently where DSM Dance Party DJs was the DJ service and was blown away by the amount of skill & professionalism the staff had! The DJ read the crowd easily and everyone was vibing and having fun. They definitely know how to keep the party going and would recommend them to anyone looking for DJ services for any event!

DJ Riley was absolutely phenomenal at our wedding! His energy was so positive and contagious to both us and our entire crowd. He received numerous complements from not only the venue staff, but all of our guests. Thank you Riley for making our night so memorable! DJ Marty and his team were an absolute joy to work with. I received a recommendation for the company from another DJ who was not available on our wedding date. Marty was such a great find and we could not be happier with our experience! While DJ Marty was not able to actually attend our wedding, he coordinated all of the details for our day. I received a response to every e-mail within hours. We had multiple meetings to determine the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Marty and his team were so flexible with the multiple changes we made to our wedding, including the date. They created a schedule for the entire event, complete with music choices and timing for each segment. Antonio was the DJ for our actual wedding and he was phenomenal. He was incredibly kind and so respectful of our guests and venue. We left a great deal of the music as the DJ’s choice and he perfectly captured the mood that we were hoping for. His transitions between events throughout the evening were perfect and he was a great emcee – cheerful, pleasant, and excited. The owner of our venue made a point to let us know how great of an experience that she had working with Antonio. After breaking down his equipment, Antonio offered to help the venue clean up after the wedding. DSM Dance Party DJs could not have been a more perfect choice. I plan to recommend them to everyone I know!

We had the pleasure of having DJ Des from DSM Dance Party DJ’s host our wedding. There are so many stressors on the big day and this was not one of them, in fact, he eliminated quite a few. From ceremony to the last song DJ Des was on point the entire time. The services that the company offers combined with their excellent emcee’s I could not recommend a better vendor for your music/audio needs.
