We had a fall wedding at Duchman. Everything was phenomenal- the ceremony site is gorgeous, the wine is fabulous and the food is to die for. We had so many guest tell us it was their favorite wedding they've been to by far. Callan was absolutely amazing to work with. From start to finish- they were with us through it all. I can't get over how perfect our big day turned out- and so glad we chose Duchman!
So impressed with Duchman Winery! We had a very small wedding, most venues wouldn’t even entertain the idea of hosting our wedding and Duchman never thought twice! First of all it’s a beautiful venue, second of all the food was To. Die. For. All of the staff was accommodating and made sure our day was perfect!
The venue is absolutely beautiful and the wine is delicious! I wish a little more time at the venue was included in the price to allow more time for pictures and reception. I think the coordinator, Candace, may have left because I never heard from her again after we signed the contract and there was another person helping the day of. They are really flexible with the vendors you can bring in and any alcohol other than wine. They also allowed us to leave cars and decorations overnight and pick them up in the morning.
The reception room was like a fairly tale all lit up and beautifully dressed with the flowers, linens. and table settings. We received so many compliments on the quality of the food which was outstanding and cooked perfectly and came out the of kitchen hot. There was more than enough food for everyone! The staff was very polite and accommodating. The Bride and Groom had the wedding of a lifetime all at Duchman Winery. Thanks to Candace for her attention to detail and her professionalism She worked with our vendors to create the bride and groom's vision. You were all wonderful!
I couldn't have imagined having our wedding anywhere other than Duchman. The first time I ever went there, the first thing I thought was how beautiful it would be for a wedding, and when we got engaged, it didn't take us long to make our selection. The price was a little more than we wanted to spend, but it was well worth it (plus we got a 20% discount for using their catering). In terms of catering, I read some other reviews that said the portions were a bit small and that some larger male guests may have left hungry, and I would agree with that, so in retrospect I might have ordered a third entrée for the family style service. But in terms of quality, the food was fantastic. They catering team and the venue staff really took care of us, and we got so many compliments on how beautiful the space was (even with having to move our wedding inside because the grounds were too wet due to some rain and flooding in the days prior). Last but most certainly not least, working with Candace was an incredible experience. She is extremely responsive, and you can tell that she really cares about her brides. She wanted to make sure everything was perfect for us, and it really was. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to have a beautiful Texas hill country wedding!
We just got married about 2 weeks ago here and we absolutely loved it! Candace was a sweetheart! She was very helpful throughout the entire process, answering emails and our calls quickly. We are from Houston and wanted to have a religious ceremony and Duchman was very accommodating even at the last minute when my father in law had request a few changes. I loved that we were able to have ceremony, cocktails hour and reception all in one place. Though in the December, there aren't any grape trees, the outdoor ceremony still turned out beautifully. The reception hall is absolutely gorgeous! I did not need much decors as the brick walls and red ceiling gave it a very Italian Tuscany feel to it. I loved our first look(s) in the wine barrel room!! Our manager on duty that day was super sweet and the staff gave excellent services. Candace even came by during the night and said hello. The only one thing that the guests did voiced their concerns was that the food portion was a bit small (though we added an extra side) and they were still a bit hungry afterwards. But the food was amazing and delicious, just order extra sides! But overall, this venue was one of the best decision I made! We will definitely come back for future visits.
The Duchman winery is a gorgeous venue in the Hill Country with the perfect combination of elegance and charm. We got married outside near the vineyard with our reception in the main event center, and Duchman catered the event with a fantastic meal. Overall, it was a wonderful venue for our wedding of about 150 guests with the flexibility to add more guests if needed.
My now husband and I used to go out to Duchman just to sip wine and enjoy the view. After getting engaged in a vineyard in Australia and knowing we wanted to go to Italy on our honeymoon, the Italian theme was an obvious must. Duchman was GORGEOUS. And their wedding planner Candace absolutely is unmatched. Not only was our ceremony under oaks with the vineyard as our backdrop stunning, the outdoor cocktail ceremony was fun and beautiful, the reception inside with the gorgeous rock fireplace and beautiful wooden-framed windows a hit, but the staff kindly made us to-go plates including cake. This is the venue of your dreams! Everyone was so accommodating, we felt like a king and queen and we were inindated with compliments from guests saying it was the most gorgeous and fun wedding they've ever attended!
Seriously. I got married at Duchman more than a month ago, and my guests can't stop talking about how beautiful the venue was. You'll barely have to worry about decorations, since you're at a freaking winery. The ceremony site is set up right in front of the vineyard and framed perfectly by some low-hanging trees. Vows under a tree at sunset? Yes please. Maybe a branch will fall during your ceremony like it during mine! No one was hurt, everyone laughed. The reception hall was lovely, too. Get married here.
Great venue in a beautiful setting thats very close to Austin --most of my guests stayed in Austin! It was a pretty good value comparably asI looked at a lot of venues nearby.
Big indoor space that fits a large guest count.
You can bring your own catering and alcohol (with the exception of wine, of course) which helps keep the cost down.
Parking was a bit difficult but we got a parking attendant which was easy and relatively cheap.
I cannot say enough good things about the Duchman Family Winery! My husband and I got married in June 2015 and we had both our ceremony and reception at Duchman. Candace is an absolute gem to work with. She so patiently and thoroughly answered all my many questions. It was the perfect size space for the 150 people we had at our wedding. If you are having a reception at the Duchman you should DEFINITELY use their catering service! We did family style dinner and the food was outrageously good. Hands down the best wedding food I've ever eaten. The only hiccup that was a little frustrating was that we couldn't enter the winery before the time of our reservation. Not even for me to change into my gown in the bathroom! So, I changed in the bathroom at the restaurant next door. It all worked out but it was a little less than ideal. Overall, I would highly recommend this venue. The people who run it are so wonderful and kind and it is such a beautiful and well kept place!
Simply wonderful, the space is beautiful and open with lovely green areas outside for photos. Candace was very accommodating whenever we called with questions and let us come in to measure the room and make our preparations as often as we felt necessary. I don't mean to give the wrong idea with three stars for service, everyone was polite and helpful. The only thing that was very troublesome was that we weren't allowed to set up the space until 1pm, which was when we were expected to be at the church for our wedding at 2pm. For a DIY bride that would be almost impossible to manage and caused me stress even with a day of wedding planner. If your ceremony can be on site that would alleviate this problem and the vineyard view is rustic and charming. With that out of the way let me tell you the wonderful things! The windows into the barrel room are very interesting and we had our cocktail hour out in the hall, our guests enjoyed it immensely. There is a bride's room available that has a vast mirror for you to get ready. They offer catering but are also open to outside caterers as long as they are approved (which can save you quite a bit of money) and you are permitted to bring your own beer and liquor as long as you use their wine, which is delightful and we saved a bottle for our first anniversary. All in all it was a beautiful magical day and I give the Duchman Winery my highest recommendation!
Duchman Family Winery was the perfect venue for our wedding. The grounds are beautiful as is the reception hall. In fact, we initially selected the Duchman because we knew that the wedding would still be beautiful even if held inside due to inclement weather. Luckily, we were blessed with great weather and got to enjoy both the indoor and outdoor facilities! The ceremony site, vineyards, and barrel room are also a perfect backdrop for pictures. Throughout the evening, our guests repeatedly commented on the beauty of the setting as well as the food. We used the in-house caterer and they did not disappoint. The food was not only wonderful, but beautifully presented. All in all, we were extremely pleased with the facility as well as professionalism of the staff. Candace always responded timely to inquiries and questions. My husband and I would definitely recommend the Duchman to other brides to be.
Venue was nice, food was good although the portions were rather small. I fear some of our male guests left hungry.
Venue price changed from initial inquiry to booking by 40%. That was a bit of a disappointment. It is a nice venue, but not as nice as the cost.
I would highly recommend Duchman Family Winery! My dream wedding happened just as I hoped thanks to Duchman and Candace as their professional Wedding Consultant. Everything was so much easier thanks to Candace! If you are looking for a beautiful venue and the ease of doing everything at one location, have your wedding at Duchman. Candace also guides the entire planning process so it makes everything less stressful!
Just a visit to the venue or browse thought some pictures of other weddings show you how beautiful the Tuscan building is and how beautiful the venue and vineyard scenery is. I had always wanted to get married in a vineyard (not too many pretty ones of those in Tx) and this venue is beyond gorgeous! You will not be disappointed in its beauty. However the real value of having your wedding here is Candace. Technically she is not paid to be your "wedding planner" but she will be your savior in the hectic months of wedding planning. She goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to make your day special. She has a true gift for this career. She was such a help in finding amazing vendors and all her input, ideas, and hard work were priceless. Candace is so personable and professional, she is awesome at answering questions and finding solutions. It was a pleasure to work with her and get to know her! I would recommend Duchman to any bride dreaming of a winery wedding, Candace will make your dreams a reality. (Also, on my wedding night, she wasnt even meant to be on schedule, but she stayed- she really cares about her brides and will move mountains to make your day special)
I could not have been more pleased with Duchman Family Winery. It's SUCH a beautiful venue that doesn't require a lot from the bride as far as decorations or flowers. The grounds were perfect for our special day, and even though it had rained for two days straight before our wedding, the staff worked hard to accommodate our dream of an outdoor wedding. It was a little chilly and slightly muddy, but they did all they could to give us a beautiful setting for the day of. They allowed us to take pictures in the vineyard which I can't wait to see because it was so lush and pretty! All of my friends and family were taking pictures with their dates inside and outside of the vineyard because it's such a beautiful backdrop. I LOVED the indoor room for the reception, too. It was exactly what I wanted, dimly lit, warm and inviting and very romantic. It was a little too dark at times but that is easily adjustable. The manager on duty during our wedding was AMAZING! I remember seeing her walking around taking pictures on her cell phone during the reception - so I guess she was just as impressed as I was with how beautifully it came together! It got a little hot at one point during the reception, and as soon as my husband said the word she was on the thermostat making adjustments. We sent numerous emails during our planning process and she and her staff always replied graciously and in a timely manner. I could tell she really wanted to do everything she could to make our wedding day perfect! It also helps that she used to be a wedding planner herself :) The entire staff at Duchman is beyond professional and accommodating - the managers were always there to help and answer questions and I felt so secure knowing they had a watchful eye on everything. The bridal suite is PERFECT for getting ready. It was exactly the amount of space and privacy we needed with more than enough mirrors and seating space for the family and bridal party (we had at least 15 people in there and had room to spare!) They also brought us free wine to drink while we dressed and waited :) Duchman was a destination wedding location for me, so I wasn't able to visit the grounds as often as I probably would have if I lived in the Austin area, but everyone there still knew me by name! I took my bachelorette party in there for a wine tasting and they offered a free tasting to everyone of the wine we ordered! Anytime my husband, Nick and I go visit, they remember us and offer us free wine, which is a GREAT perk :) They really go above and beyond to make their brides feel special. I can only think of two things I wish were different - the grooms don't have a designated space to dress. They put up a divider at the end of the hall, but they didn't have a whole lot of privacy or seating and I know they were wishing they had more of a private space. Also, the aisle is made of crushed wine bottles (which I thought was so cool), but it was a little thick and hard to walk on. It looked amazing, especially in photos, but a few people mentioned getting glass in their shoes and I know me and my mother in law had a hard time walking on it in our heels. Those are very minor things that no one (if anyone) really remembers, so overall, I would suggest this venue to everyone who asks! I love Duchman!!
My daughter had the most amazing wedding at Duchman Family Winery. Everything was absolutely PERFECT!!! The venue itself is beautiful! Candace was wonderful to work with, and I really appreciated that she was on hand for the entire wedding, making sure everything went smooothly. We used the Duchman Caterers, and everybody just raved about the food! I could not have asked for a more wonderful wedding day for my daughter!!!
We were first attracted to Duchman by the price and the fact it was a winery. We fell in love when we met the event manager, tried the wine, and toured the property.
Candace helped everything go so smoothly and the natural beauty saved us a ton of money on decor. The limestone event center, vineyard backdrop, and opportunities to go with our photographer into the vineyard and barrel room were absolute perfection.
I had worried about limited restrooms and parking but neither were ever a problem even with a wedding next door. We had about 130 guests and, while the facilities have the capacity to hold larger groups, we never felt like the room was too big or small for our guests.
My now husband and I went out to Duchman on one of our first dates and knew it would be a perfect location for our wedding! We had a gorgeous ceremony outside with the grape vines as a backdrop, our cocktail hour was in the picnic area, and we had the most gorgeous reception ever in the events center! Candace was a pleasure to work with and was very accommodating and professional! We used the catering services as well and we were beyond pleased with the food!
We got married at Duchman Family Winery in September.
Gorgeous venue...truly perfect Tuscan feel, wide open spaces, and beautiful ball room.
Great wine.
Complementary wine tastings for the bride and groom during the planning process.
Reasonable price.
We had a little hiccup with the event planning, because they changed the coordinators and did not notify us. It was only after I emailed my contact at the winery, got a "this email address does not exist" response, and called in a panic, did I learn about the coordinator change. It was a little bit of an adjustment to switch coordinators in the middle of planning, but our wedding turned out perfect.
The venue really is breath-taking, and in the perfect kind of weather (which we had) the vistas of the vineyard are unbelievable. We got married under the trees overlooking the vineyard and it was such a moving experience. The party in the reception hall was intimate and gorgeous.
A few other comments:
I was a little worried that the tasting room would still be open to the public during the wedding, but it turned out to not be an issue at all.
Parking was not an issue for us, but I could see with a large wedding (we only had 50 guests) that it could be an issue.
No on-site refrigeration, so make sure your caterer knows how to deal with that!
We absolutely loved everything about Duchman. We chose our venue and paid the deposit without ever seeing it. The vineyard and ball room are both beyond beautiful and our guests were blown away. My dream was to be married in a vineyard and they made it absolutely perfect for us.
We had our wedding and our reception at the same placeand I love how they transformed the room. This place is amazing and I'm so glad that it is near my in law's house so that we can always go back. :-)
The beautiful scenery at the Duchman Winery and delicious wine were definitely seller to make us want to book our wedding at the venue. Unfortunately, the Event Coordinator made us wish we had reconsidered. After meeting her no less than TEN times, she never remembered my name or my fiancé including at the rehearsal when she introduced me by a different name. We were not informed until the day before the wedding of the wedding party not being able to take pictures in the cellar, even after we were showed photos of this upon booking. Lisa was very pushy about what vendors to use and we were not even able to get the keg because the keg fridge was never fixed. Our wedding was beautiful and romantic because the team there did a great job at turning our outdoor wedding into an indoor wedding due to the rain. If a new coordinator comes in then I would absolutely recommend, unfortunately, I was left disappointed in the service to value ratio we paid for at the winery. PS- parking is also a messy issue.
I have to say, Duchman Winery is a great venue to get married! The coordinators, Ashlee and Lisa, are friendly and very professional. We had to change our wedding location just 6 days prior to the event. Duchman just happened to have an opening and they exceeded our expectations. The weather was perfect, the venue was perfect and the assistance we received from the coordinators was perfect! It all went without a hitch... Except the one that was supposed to! ;)
Although it was a journey for everyone to find their way through the country roads to get here, I couldn't have picked a better place! The on-site coordinator Lisa was so helpful and kind through the entire process. The venue fit my 200ish guests perfectly, my ceremony under the trees in front of the vineyards was BEAUTIFUL!, and all of our photos with the tile roofings and stone walls were perfect. I wouldn't have had it any other way! And I only spent $3600. Loved it.
The PERFECT Tuscan style winery - in the heart of Texas Hill Country! We recently had a small, destination wedding in Austin, Texas, and I cannot say enough for how beautiful Duchman Family Winery is - after having our ceremony at Chapel Dulcinea, we bussed our guests to the winery for the reception. The folks (Lisa and Cathleen) at Duchman Winery did an AMAZING job working with me and ensuring that our day was absolutely perfect. Not only did they arrange a private wine tasting and tour of the winery for our guests, but they worked with me on every little detail to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it. Plus, they allow you to bring in your own caterer, so budget brides, take note - this place could be the answer to your prayers! It's absolutely gorgeous and somewhat of a hidden gem. It truly brought my Tuscany dream wedding to life - and on a tight budget! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! My new hubby and I will definitely be back to visit and reminisce! :)
Duchman Family Winery is absolutely beautiful. We are so glad we had our wedding here. Our ceremony was outdoors at sunset in front of the vineyard and a cocktail hour followed. It started outdoors, and transitioned inside. The reception was in their banquet room and it was gorgeous. Throughout planning, the event management changed, which caused me great anxiety, but Lisa, one of the new coordinators was so warm, so friendly and so understanding! She was patient and accommodating as I made many last minute changes. On the wedding day she was also very helpful! She was great! Our guests were so impressed with how nice everything was, and so were we! Our wedding was wonderful and I highly recommend using Duchman Family Winery!
I fell in love with the Duchman Family Winery and knew right away that I wanted to get married there. The cost was well within my budget and the facilities are beautiful. However, the event coordinators were far less than helpful. I didn't even see the coordinator, Cathleen, on my wedding day. She showed up towards the end to collect money from my parents. Even vendors were looking for her and she was nowhere to be found. They also decided to put a parking lot where I had decided to have my ceremony and they did not inform me of this. I found out by visiting the winery a month before my wedding. The alternative site was still beautiful, but when you have your heart set on something, especially for your wedding, it's hard to make a switch. When you're a bride, you want to be treated like you're special and a princess. Here, you're treated like you're a number and you don't matter...until money is due. But for what I paid, I guess I shouldn't have expected someone who would answer my e-mails and be attentive to my needs.
The venue is just beautiful - great outdoor locations for the ceremony and an event center for the reception. *Most* of the staff was accommodating.
Cathleen, the events coordinator, was, at best, uninvolved. Her behavior the day of (the first time we'd met) was just rude.
