I seriously wanted to give this venue a 5 star rating but we also had some minor issues that were not fun to have. Although they were quickly resolved, I still couldn’t bring myself to change my mind.
However, I want to highlight the positive...s. It’s a beautiful drive into the venue, we were instantly memorized by the scenery and then you see the barn...whoa! We just knew we wanted our wedding there. The barn was a perfect balance of rustic and elegance. It wasn’t overly rustic at all. Our guests loved the location too. From the small manmade waterfall entrance to the chandelier inside..it created the perfect ambiance. The bridal suite and groomsmen cabin were a bonus! We had a large bridal party and everyone fit comfortably. It was nice to have the suites to get ready and gather our bridal party together. We seriously had the best day ever!
There are issues that were similar to others on the knot. There was miscommunication and lack of communication from the previous manager Rhonda. We were not told she was no longer there and then had a scare when they couldn’t find our signed contract ( after everything was paid). Luckily, Jason, the new venue manager helped resolve our issues and assured us piece of mind.
I cannot thank Jason enough for helping us fit tables that would fit 270 (we ended up with about 230-240) people at our wedding. Although it reads that it holds 300..it doesn’t do it comfortably. So I would recommend this venue if you are doing 250 or less. Mind you, all our vendors had to be outside except the DJ. This ended up well in our favor since we had perfect weather (up until the nightfall when it got cold but it was still bearable). So our caterer, bar, photo booth all had to be located outside for seating space.
Another thing we didn’t really consider because we were in love with the views and the place itself, is the lack of kitchen. Since our food wasn’t at the top of our list ( I know, we are terrible) it made it difficult for our caterer to keep all the food warm. We went with a buffet style and she was serving plates ahead of time to prevent long lines. Luckily The food was delicious. We also didn’t realize that their was a lack of communication between the coordinator and caterer. The trash bins were nowhere in sight ( I’m assuming to keep the venue looking clean from an excessive amount of trash bins) but there were no trash bins in sight at all. So our caterer didn’t clean up after dinner as promised. After looking at pictures and talking to guests, they had to keep their empty plates on their table and if they didn’t have our personalized mason jars, they had to keep their plastic cups there too due to the lack of trash bins in sight. Of course, this was not an issue for us at the time. We were having so much fun and our guests were too.
Overall, we had a great experience and we would just recommend to work with Jason from the start. If he happens to no longer be there. Find him! He was a great help and he offers rental services for a very reasonable price!
