We recently celebrated our Daughter’s wedding at Eden Try Winery. The location, backdrop and surroundings made her day perfect. It’s a beautiful property and they had so many decorations to work with as well as the tasty wine for the venue. It was a one stop shop for us, as we also stayed at the Manor which is beautiful and has everything you’ll need for a cozy stay. Thank you to The Eden Try team for a memorable day for our family.
Love,
The Otto & Otto-Slattery Family

We chose this venue for our wedding in August 2024 and it was the most beautiful place to have it! The owners (Emily & Adam) were great to work with as well as the manager (Liz). They were all so helpful, professional, and accommodating to all of our wants/needs to make our day special. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to book for any season it is beautiful all year round.

The owner of winery, Emily, went above and beyond to make our wedding so beautiful! We first met when we toured the other venue she owns and after talking, she suggested checking out Eden Try. From the beginning, she was so helpful and attentive to every detail. She answered every question we had and was so easily approachable. My husband and I booked the venue for the full weekend and stayed in the Manor House, which was so clean and aesthetically pleasing. It fit our whole wedding party and our parents. I was slightly nervous about the temperature and a June wedding, but the reception hall had fans and it was perfect. The reception hall also already had beautiful decor inside like a wall of mirrors and a LOVE sign that made it so easy to decorate. All my guests raved about the venue and I highly recommend booking Eden Try Winery!!

Eden Try was phenomenal with allowing us to use the barn for a celebration of life reception. My 17 year old son tragically passed away July 1, 2023 and they were more than willing to make last minute arrangements for us to host the event. The barn was beautiful, they did all the table and chair set up and had someone tending the wine shed for our guests that wanted a glass or purchase bottles of wine. The barn was spacious and clean and we were incredibly grateful for all of their accommodations! All the staff members were incredibly supportive and polite. I highly recommend for your event.

As a vendor, Emily and the Eden Try team are top notch. The amount of areas to capture portraits is plentiful - your gallery will be full of beautiful shots from all over!
They anticipate everything you need and go above and beyond to ensure you have it. My brides are always so happy have had their wedding there!
I would recommend them over and over again! Plus, you can’t go wrong when there’s wine involved (the temptation is my fave)!

Emily and the venue staff's exceptional customer service added a touch of warmth, making the entire experience truly memorable. We had our wedding at Eden Try on St. Patrick’s Day 2023! It was absolutely beautiful!!! Emily was so easy to work with throughout the whole process and we very much enjoyed being able to visit the property as often as we wanted to help with wedding planning. The manor house was so perfectly decorated and well lit considering it was overcast/rainy in the morning. We got so many compliments from out of town guests on the barn as well. One of the things we loved most about it was how budget friendly it was for how much we got out of the property for the day. I highly recommend Emily and her team, as well as Eden Try, for your special day! It’s nice that we get to go back and visit our wedding spot as often as we want to :)

We absolutely loved this venue. We had our wedding here in November 2022 and we could not have asked for a better setting. The barn and outdoor ceremony space are equally beautiful and Emily and the staff were amazing and so helpful. Highly recommend!!

The venue is absolutely gorgeous and it fit our theme perfectly. The wedding planner that was part of the package was great to work with, both her and her assistant. We seem to have had fewer problems with the owners than many other reviewers. Gary was fantastic to work with, but Linda was a bit difficult until you were very direct/blunt about your viewpoint/issue/concern. Price is reasonable in comparison with other venues in the area.

I'm not even sure where to start with this review...but I would absolutely discourage others from using Eden Try as their event site. I really wish I would have read the other reviews on here and the Wedding Wire prior to booking our wedding at this site...sounds like they had the same problems we did with the owner and manager (Gary and Linda) as well issues with their deposit. I've also posted this review on Yelp (and will be placing on yelp as well. It's pretty...yes. The barn is rustic...yes. The outdoor site is appealing...yes. However, the poor management and lack of professionalism from the owners and staff of Eden Try are not worth the stress and inconvenience despite having a seemingly adorable wedding venue. Linda is a pain...period. She's generally unresponsive unless she needs something (payment, etc) and was inconsistent with the information provided. We were told a lot of things during our initial meetings and conversations regarding wedding planning...and much of that changed as we got closer to the wedding. We were told we would have a private wine tasting and were later told it had to be scheduled at a specific time and was not private. For our rehearsal and wedding, the ceremony grounds and equipment were not maintained as they should be for an event site (grass not mowed, leaves not raked, chairs for the wedding were dirty). After our wedding, we contacted Linda to find out why our deposit had not been deposited and when it would be returned...however, we did not hear back. Instead, our deposit was cashed over a week AFTER the wedding. When we inquired about why it was not returned and just being cashed (paid it several months earlier), Gary provided no information over the phone about it. Instead, we were emailed a couple hours after the phone conversation (2 WEEKS AFTER our wedding) that there had been damage to a spigot on the property that we would be responsible for paying and that our deposit was being withheld because of it. When they finally responded to our phone calls, Gary (the owner) told my husband that they had pointed the damaged spigot out to one of our guests the day after the wedding. Apparently, that's how they thought we should be notified...the guest that they notified had no idea they were supposed to tell us...and even if they had, it was totally unprofessional that they did not contact us themselves and we were only told after we tried to contact them multiple times about the deposit. There was no proof or time/date stamp of the photos to prove that it occurred at our wedding...and the spigot was located in an area that our guests were not allowed to drive. The only vehicle allowed to drive in the area was the trolley that they listed as their preferred vendor. There is a catch in the contract that you are responsible for any damage caused by any of the vendors as well...this is my best guess at what happened to the spigot...IF it even occurred the weekend of our wedding. The repairs were made before even telling us that there had been damage to begin with. Overall, I do not recommend using this site for your wedding venue. Our wedding planner said she would no longer be working with this site either because of multiple issues. If Gary would like to continue using the estate as a wedding venue, I highly suggest that they improve their professionalism and operational management.
Our wedding was wonderful...but had nothing to do with this venue or staff.

The venue itself was not a bad value... The barn was what we liked the most and why we initially chose this venue as the construction was just finishing at the time. The guest loved the venue and we were told multiple times how beautiful the location was. What was most disappointing/frustrating was the limited amount of time included. I was not allowed on the property the night before to set up at all, there was only 2hrs allowed for setup prior to the wedding, therefore, some things were not set up how I wanted and things were still being set up as guest arrived. The coordinator provided by the venue also started cleaning up an hour before the wedding was over so guest started leaving early...

I am writing this because of the lack of information about this venue on the web. My experience working with this venue was not exactly a piece of cake, however I'm sure there have been some people who have used it as a venue and had a wonderful experience.
I am not one of them.
I am only giving 3 stars for responsiveness on Linda's part.
This is kinda lengthy.. so be prepared to read. I feel you need to know the truth about what happened so you don't make the same mistakes I did.
We visited Eden Try about a month ago and I fell in love with the property and the owner. Linda was extremely sweet and endearing. She offers a 10% discount if you book the venue at the same time you visit. It's not a HUGE discount, but every bit helps when you are trying to do a wedding on a budget. At the end of our visit, we decided to go with Eden Try because of the price. Linda assured us that we would be able to do the wedding under $6K. She offers "packages" that are all inclusive, w/prices you won't find anywhere else.
And here is why- it's TOO cheap. I was a little skeptical about the pricing, but she assured us she had met with the vendors, used them many times and worked out the pricing with them to offer brides a complete break down of the total cost for affordable weddings.
She showed us the breakdowns, and general pricing for tent, tables, chairs, catering, restrooms (yes, you have to rent restrooms), etc. When you get to the contract signing, she tells you that you will sign separate contracts with the venue, caterer and tent vendor.
This should have thrown up a red flag, but I was so in love with the property that I didn't think about it until afterward... this is not a "package" if it's all separate. In the contract she also says she is not responsible for any problems that could arise with the caterers or other vendors. So basically, she does not stand behind her choices for preferred vendors.
My problems with planning my wedding began immediately after we booked the venue. I contacted their main preferred caterer: TJ's Catering in Fredericksburg, VA the following Monday to get information from them about having them cater the wedding. I called in the morning- no answer. In the afternoon- no answer... so that evening I sent an email requesting information, and letting them know I was having my wedding at Eden Try. Mid-week I still hadn't heard anything back from them. I called a couple times a day until Friday hoping that I would catch someone there. No luck.
A week later, I had my sister call and she got a hold of a n there (also named Linda) who said that she had called me and left me a message, but I never called back. She never called. I had no voicemails and no missed calls. I left my home and cell number so at least one of them would have shown she had tried calling.
My sister asked her to send over a menu, told her how many guests we were expecting, and where the wedding was to be held, expecting her to send over a menu related to the agreements they have with Eden Try. A couple of days later she sent over a menu via email. Again, apologizing for not reaching me when she called. Nothing on the menu was what was offered while at the venue. In fact, the prices were twice as much and they added a lot of stuff in that was not previously discussed at the venue. I tried calling them back to ask for the venue menu, and never got a hold of anyone.
I finally contacted Linda at Eden Try to tell her about the prob

My husband and I were so excited about booking Eden Try for our August wedding. We viewed the property in December after a snow storm but could tell the protential beauty of the property in the summer. The owners were great to work with in the beginning. Up to the week before the wedding everything went smooth.
Be very careful when reading their contract. They are extremely strict and somewhat unreasonable. They have extremely high expectations-as they live on the property. Be sure that you dont not plan on having anyone inside the house with your prior to the ceremony (bridesmaids, mom etc) They want only the bride and photographer to be in the house. So the rest of your wedding party has to stand outside until the ceremony begins. They also claimed that someone in our party placed a purse on their sofa in their living room and it left a stain which they have to pay to have cleaned. Absolutely ridiculous and not true.
Be sure to somehow notify ALL guests of how serious they are on their smoking policy. Everyone MUST stay in the smoking area
(away from the tented reception section in the front, located near where the restrooms are placed) And be sure to empahsize that the cigarette butts MUST go in the smoking container. We do not have a smoking family- just a people at the wedding and yet they still claimed there were many cigarette butts all over the property they had to clean (after some of our family members stayed late cleaning them up after the reception)
Several issues were discussed after our wedding and we were told that we would keeping our ENTIRE deposit, rather then just a portion which was very unreasonable.
The owners were out and about for parts of the wedding and one was even in the background of a picture as I walked down the asile in his shorts and flip flops.
The garden was not as much a garden as you would think. Lots of greenery, but not colorful blooming flowers (just in case that is what you are going for)
It was very difficult to return from our honeymoon to find out they had picked at several different tiny things and turned it into a big issue by keeping our $1000 deposit. When all of our guests had raved about how amazing the wedding was and clamining it was the best they had ever been to.
Just be careful when choosing this venue, hopefully you'll have a better turn out then we did. But nothing can take away our amazing memories of the day/night and the picture truly show that.
