This place was so beautiful and most important to us, “off the beaten path”. If your dream is a ceremony in the woods, this is the place! The barn and outside areas were perfect to allow our guests to be socially distanced. The host is amazing and flexible, which made planning so easy!! Definitely recommend this place and this host.
Our wedding day was more than we imagined it would be, and actually wouldn’t have happened at all if it weren’t for Joyce and her beautiful barn. We found out 20 hours before our wedding that our original venue had been destroyed by a tornado. I’m sure you can imagine how we felt: we had planned for our big day for months, and everything was gone in a matter of minutes. By some stroke of luck, we got in touch with Joyce, who very generously offered her farm for our use (less than 12 hours before we would be there to set up!). Seeing how beautiful it was in pictures, it was a no-brainer that we would move our wedding there. When our families arrived to set up at 8am on the day of, Joyce went above and beyond – she was there helping to clean the leaves from the ceremony space, helping our families move tables and set up, and was a real pleasure to work with. Our families could not stop talking about how thankful they were for Joyce and everything she did to make our day great.
Not only is Joyce wonderful to work with, but her property is absolutely stunning. The photos do not do it justice. The ceremony site is tucked away on a little hill in the woods and very romantic. We loved the getting ready space, as well as the upper floor of the barn. There was plenty of space for our 150 guests.
I cannot recommend this venue enough. We are forever in debt to Joyce and her family for welcoming us on such short notice, and making our dream wedding come true. Joyce turned one of the worst moments in our lives so far into our best day yet, and we will never forget her kindness, generosity and compassion.
The most beautiful venue and Joyce is so great!
We had the most amazing day at Edgewood. Joyce had some rules she was strict on, but it was for the betterment of the facility. She was extremely helpful and made me (the bride) feel very at ease. We had lots of compliments from guests and our photographer loved all of the great photo op spots! It was perfect. ❤
We cannot say enough good things about this venue! Was a perfect place for our wedding and everything turned out beautifully. Owner is super nice and attentive. We definitely recommend this venue!
Beautiful, wonderful, rustic venue!
Edgewood Farm is the perfect venue for a couple looking for that "barn wedding feel" but don't want to spend 5K+ for their big day. $2,200 for the weekend is hard to beat, especially for everything that you're getting at Edgewood. The barn is stocked with lights, decor, tables, lanterns, etc. to use at your leisure so you can put your decor money elsewhere! The scenery is beautiful for pictures.
Yes, the barn is small, but for my wedding of 200 guests it gave a fun and more intimate feel. We had so many complements. Only complaint that I will make is that Joyce can be difficult to work with at times in terms of setting up and her rules, but did not bother us at all during the ceremony/dance and was helpful in cleaning up the next day.
Edgewood Farm is a beautiful, affordable venue. We looked at a few different places, and this was the one we chose for so many reason, not least of what was how attentive and welcoming the venue owner-- Joyce-- is. She was always willing to answer questions and work with us. My mother actually bonded with her enough that she plans to visit the next time she's up. Joyce gave us flexibility for setting up and cleaning up before and after the wedding. Her family is so helpful, and the small town around the venue is lovely and full of welcoming people.
-The site is gorgeous; the ceremony site is amazing. Our pictures are going to turn out fantastic I can’t wait!
-You get to bring in your own vendors for food, and can bring your own booze!!!!
-The barn is beautiful!!! The website says it holds 250, however 250 for a seated dinner is pushing it, I would stick with 220 for a seated dinner.
-The 250 people includes anyone on the premises, caterers, photographers etc!!!!! (Learned this the hard way) -You get to decorate however you want, which is awesome! I really got to see my vision come alive!!!!!
-The contract says you have until noon the following day to take down, however her website says you have until 1:00 PM to take down, she stuck with the noon time for us!!!
Now to my personal experience with Joyce (the owner) Every review I have read has gushed over how great to work with Joyce is, I must have caught her on a bad week or something. Up until the week of the wedding she was helpful and kind. Then the week of the wedding my Coordinator called her and she just flipped switches like that. My DJ Had some questions regarding electricity for her so he called her and I guess she was very rude to him as well.
-The morning of the wedding we rented the cabin there, Joyce came barging in without knocking….I did not think that was okay at all!!!!
-She yelled at multiple people throughout the day of getting ready. “This can’t sit on this table” “move that” she also looked at my pregnant bridesmaid and told her to move some huge tote….
-We had something set up on the tables in the kitchen area, not to stay there just boxes sitting there while we unloaded them, she did not like this and started yelling that “Nothing can be on the counters at all” we tried to explain that they were just sitting there while we unloaded the totes and she did not seem to care.
-She was out in the parking lot as my guests were parking, yelling at them. She actually had one guest park three different times before she was satisfied. After this she told my step dad “I thought you had someone here to direct traffic” that was the first time it was ever brought to our attention.
-She lingered around the barn/reception area all night in what looked to be pajamas. This irritated me. It was my understanding that we rented the venue, put our own insurance on it and she had nothing to do with it, that was no the case.
-She came down at 8:30 AM the next morning yelling that nothing was cleaned up yet (per the contract we had until noon) and screaming at my Mom to the point my step Dad had to come in and diffuse the situation. She was pounding on her chest saying “I own this place, this is my property” which is true, but she also rents it out. I don’t think she has the qualities or mentality to run a business.
-There were many other snide rude comments made to the bridal party and guests throughout the day.
-She took days to respond to emails.
-She never sent me any sort of payment reminders. Then the week before my wedding told me I had not paid the final bill, but she really had already cashed my check.
-Super disorganized
-Super unprofessional
-Over all my biggest piece of advice is to get EVERYTHING in writing!!!!!!
Overall my day was perfect, the venue was BEAUTIFUL and my pictures are turning out amazing!!!!!!!! In my opinion it was worth it to get married here with how beautiful it is, I just wish Joyce had a little bit more professionalism, the way she spoke to me and my vendors was embarrassing in my opinion.
We were just married here last weekend and we couldn't of asked for a more perfect venue! The owner is so easy to work with and was so helpful! All of our guests had so many nice things to say about this venue. It was a relaxing atmosphere with a lot of space. I highly recommend it to any bride!
Edgewood Farm was the perfect venue. Laid back and relaxed. Loved the cabin and the fire pit. Our wedding day was perfect.
We had our fall wedding at Edgewood Farms. The owners of the farm are so nice and accommodating, and the site is gorgeous. They are no catering guidelines or anything of the sort. The site has a beautiful hidden away ceremony site on a hill, surrounded by trees, with a cute arbor in front and built-in benches. The reception site in the barn is perfect. There are a lot of DIY things you need to do when you use this site, but it's totally worth it. And the price is right.
