The boat was beautiful and the food was good, however the DJ and event coordinator were extremely rude. The boat was well below capacity and still very hot. They forgot crucial things for the ceremony and were lucky my friends were super gracious, chill people. The DJ and event coordinator were rude, crude and unprofessional throughout the entire event, yelling at guest and bossing them around as well as being extremely familiar in the way of speaking, the DJ even made racist remarks!! Yes the bride and groom are my friends and they can joke around with me, but I don't know the DJ or event coordinator and therefore my "ass" or any other derogatory insult they called the guests should really stay out of their mouths. The staff completely ruined the experience and by the end, we just could not wait to get away from the staff. DO NOT BOOK
Literally loved my venue!! You can add on any vendor to your price which makes it so much easier! My coordinator went above and beyond for me and my husband :)
If I could go back in time, I would choose a different yacht with better service unless it's my 10th marriage, then I wouldn't care. The boss needs to have a word with Allison Danielson because the wedding hasn't started yet and I already gave her 3 tries to make it right and she's not fit for this client relations job. If it weren't for Lorraine, I would've asked for my money back. After all those unnecessary mishaps, I was looking forward to a near-perfect wedding day, however it wasn't as expected! The coordinator made a last minute to change up the dining seating and it cause it huge confusion among the guests. Also, when the ceremony was over, the captain took a very long time to dock the yacht and caused a lot of smoke to enter the inside of the boat which made it an extremely hazard and bad experience for the guests. Finally, during exiting, told the ticket attendant if they can give the bride and groom a courtesy parking and was given a no! Really? Spent over $25,000+ on your business and that's the service that was provided? Please re-evaluate!
We got married on July 27, 2018 & I am so happy we found Electra Cruises to be our wedding venue. We instantly fell in love with Destiny and knew this is where we wanted to get married. Electra made the wedding planning so easy and kept all of the stress off of me. I am very indecisive but they were always so nice and answered any questions I had. Mary was my first wedding planner who was awesome but Jessica ended up taking over and was just as sweet and very detailed in her answers to my questions. All of our guests talked about how fun and unique the experience was.
Vendors-
Coordinator: Star- I had the pleasure of working with Star on my wedding day and she is seriously the BEST! The rehearsal was so helpful and she ran through it twice just to make sure we all knew what to do. She made everything run so smoothly and really made sure everyone knew where/when to be.
DJ: Ryan Girgis, Tempoe Entertainment DJs- After a our first DJ, Roy Mendoza, cancelled 2 weeks before the wedding, I went with an outside vendor. Ryan was amazing and such a pleasure to work with. He helped me so much in a very stressful time and I cannot thank him enough. He kept everyone on the dance floor and played a wide variety of songs while also sticking to out ust have” list.
Photographer: Roy Iswants, C9 Photography- I loved Roy! He totally fit in with our personalities and made us feel so comfortable while taking pictures. Let’s be honest, we aren’t all models, but he had us do poses that were so fun and easy to get the hang of. I haven’t gotten our photos back just yet so I will udate this review once I do but working with him was so great.
Cake: Susie Cakes- Susie Cakes is not one of Electra’s vendors but we decided to do a cake tasting with them to explore our options. We decided to get a small 6” cake for cutting purposes and mini-cupcakes for the guests. We got them in 7 different flavors and they were such a hit! Everyone said how delicious they were and some even mentioned that they were going to stop by the next day to get a cake of their own!!
Food: Pasta Extravaganza Menu- The food was my main concern for our wedding and I really had no need to worry. Wedding food is never really a huge hit. There is always some part of the meal that someone complains about. However, that was not the case for our wedding. We decided to do the pasta bar so there would be more options and people could put together their meal the way they liked it. Some people told us this was the best wedding food they’ve ever had! Electra cooks all of the food on the boat so it is so fresh and hot when you get it.
Bar: Premium Bar- The bartenders were great. Got drinks out fast and help conversations with my guests so it was never awkward or uncomfortable.
Officiant: Gary Barmore- Gary is one of Electra’s vendors and I am so glad I got to meet him at the vendor meet. He was so funny and made our fun, goofy, and engaging ceremony visions come to life. We didn’t want anything real formal and he welcomed us into his home to go over our vision for our special day.
Flowers: La Vonne’s- We did not have a lot of flowers at our wedding but what we did have was spectacular. I wanted something different and elegant that also brought in pops of our wedding colors. Jean did such a great job and matched my wishes perfectly. She even squeezed us into her schedule when we came into town very last minute.
Overall, I could not have planned a better day.
from start to finish my coordinator kim made the entire process stress free. we have received so many compliments on our wedding. it was so beautiful to look out and see sailboats with the blue water and sin spinning. the food is great quality and we received compliments on that as well. the service was top notch and kim and hope both helped wrangle in a large bridal party as well as the groom to do all the important things. I would definately recommend them.
I have a detailed review posted on Yelp on 1/18/2018.
In a nut shell:
Our daughter's wedding was planned in 4 months. She was in LA working full time and we are in W NY state.
Lorraine was our sales person and she was great.
Our event was only 50 people aboard the Athena for Jan afternoon wedding.
We booked for 5 hours instead of the standard 4 and are SO glad we did.
It was not without some glitches and a couple of "misses" (most of these unknown by nearly everyone except us, the hosts and a few others) but for us , this was the PERFECT venue for a wedding within a reasonable budget in 4 months time.
When we asked our daughter how she felt about her Big Day, her reply was "it was perfect".
What more could you want?
See my Yelp review dated 1/18/18 for details including photographer and more...https://www.yelp.com/biz/electra-cruises-newport-beach
(keep in mind we spent more than what is listed, we upgraded flowers, wine, etc but 10k was roughly our base rate)
If Coordinator/Manager, Susan Pereda, sailed but not just sold ELECTRA CRUISES' services - it would be a tip-top, ship-to-shore celebration. Instead, our day was met with frustration and some stingray barbed stingers, from onboard staff. And a stingy bar that ran out of hosted champagne and white wine within four hours.
We reserved the Electra, one of Errol Flynn's famous yachts, formerly named The Portola, built in 1928 and featured in the movie "Some Like it Hot". Starring the voluptuous Marilyn Monroe. We therefore created A Classic Hollywood Themed Wedding - complete with a 1950's Crooner-Style Wedding Performer and Marilyn look alike - these memorable details were carried onboard or booked outside the Electra.
The ship itself, is a classic fantail, in excellent seafaring condition and a polished-brass beauty.
There was no formal seating - tray passed appetizers of Coconut Shrimp; Goat Cheese Wantons; Chicken Yakitori Skewers; Smoked Salmon Rosettes; and a Bruschetta with Roma Tomatoes - the entire menu is prepared onboard, which is impressive.
110% of every appetizer was assured both grooms and our happy but hungry ( a noon time sail) wedding guests. The amount of appetizers realistically required was dismissive. The food was palatable.
We increased budget, and included two carving stations - Grand Prime Rib with all the fixings for sandwiches and Roasted Turkey. The appetizers are not sufficient for 99 guests alone - do not be misled or be thrown overboard.
The passing of hors d'oeuvres was similar to two ships passing in the night. There just wasn't enough of the five selections period. A Parisienne Stationary of cheese and breads was also light in-its-offerings. Catering should have realized the count-per-head should be increased, a non-traditional wedding, the same is true for the drinks-per-person, as it was more of a mixer.
Counterbalance to there being no formal seated luncheon was our insistence from the beginning, to additionally include carving stations for around $2,000.00 - and the required staff. We requested and paid for 4 staff / 2 Bartenders both at second floor bar, one came with an unsuitable attitude.
The photographer Nico - who was recommended by Electra Cruises should be assigned baby portraits the remainder of his professional years. He certainly didn't deserve to work this Hollywood Themed Party. A wedding is a wedding.
Susan made everything better - we just wish she was shore to ship, back to shore, and around every day. Memories last a lifetime but good manners, and proper planning are long remembered.
The reception turned out beautiful but I felt that I had to reach out and ask a lot of questions throughout the planning process. It also would have been more helpful if my event planner was more personable.
I've already looked in to this vendor this is the one I want
Electra made our perfect wedding dreams a reality. From the moment we set an appointment, to booking, and finally our wedding day, Electra was easy to reach, able to accommodate all our needs, and made our special better than we could have imagined. Derrian ( our wedding coordinator day of) was the most AMAZING help. She kept things moving, made sure everything went as planned, and even made sure we had time to eat, and a drink in our hand. We would have been so lost without her help. She really took all the worries and potential troubles we ran into out of our minds so that we were able to enjoy ourselves. The only thing I would recommend would be to add an extra hour to your charter time because 4 hours flew by so quickly, I was sad that it was over so soon.
I have nothing but great things to say about Electra cruises! Also, prepare for a novel of a review. Haha! My husband and I got married at Christ Cathedral in garden grove and had our reception on The Eternity last month, although you're allowed to have the ceremony on the boat as well. The Eternity holds 150-300 people and our reception had about 190 guests. This is not your typical wedding reception venue. My husband was looking around and figured we would be spending about the same $$ as a venue at a hotel for example; however, we would be dealing with the hassle of booking a photographer, wedding coordinator, bartender, DJ, bakery, food etc. whereas Electra cruises gives us the option to choose among their vendors at a lower rate since they work closely with one another. We attended one food tasting event several months before our wedding and chose our dj (with uplighting, fog machine, and photobooth), photographer, appetizer and dinner option (pesto shrimp skewer, Cesar salad, tri tip with beef, alfredo, veggies). We basically had dinner on the yacht after choosing our vendors.
Our wedding coordinator was Lorraine and she was very efficient in answering all of our questions, returning phone calls and emails in a timely manner, and referred us the greatest vendors prior to the food tasting event. She made a what would be stressful process the least of my worries during my first semester in nursing school!
Our day-of wedding coordinator Star WAS THE BEST! We met up the week of the wedding, which gave me a little anxiety a few weeks before the wedding because I wasn't sure what was going on. BUT, this was for the best. They've done this hundreds of times, and it's best to have the reception out of sight out of mind while you're preparing for other things. She allowed me to party without worrying about the next thing or making sure we were on time! I let Star know what I wanted (more party time), and she really delivered. She singlehandedly coordinated the wedding reception, reminded my husband and I to eat, asked me if I needed anything throughout the night, and cued the rest of the wedding party for the grand entrance, etc. ALL while sticking to the schedule. Actually, we didn't need an extension because she really delivered what I wanted.. more party time! Ugh! If you are lucky enough to get Star as your wedding coordinator, you are literally #blessed.
Our photographer, Nico, was also on point! I generally hate being on camera, but he made me feel so comfortable. I really had to do double takes on some of the photos and say "is that me?!" He makes you look regal and sophisticated, all natural at the same time. He was at our hotel in the morning, followed us to the ceremony, and ended at the boat with us. Really cool and easy guy to work with and someone you want on your team on your wedding day!
Dj Roy was also great! He took requests all night, listened to the crowd, and made sure everyone was dancing. Our first dance was epic as he got he smoke machine to really set the mood. He also provided a neat guest book for people to sign as people added pictures from the photobooth.
Overall, my guests had a great time. And more importantly, my husband and I had an amazing wedding reception all thanks to Electra Cruises! Come here if you want to throw the wedding of the year!
This venue is A DREAM!! They go out of their way to make sure your day and event are absolutely perfect! I would recommend working with this company to anyone and everyone. Susan was our event planner and she is a gift from God! So easy to work with and has an attitude of "let's make it happen!" Everyone we worked with goes out of their way to make sure your wants and needs are possible. Their vendors are fantastic and so professional. The food is AMAZING! Our photographers (who shoot tons of weddings) told us that this was the best wedding food they have ever eaten. It was so delicious! They tell you straight up in the beginning how much everything will cost, no hidden fees at the end of the event (ex: tips, tax, etc). I cannot say enough good things about Electra. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
PERFECT!!! A yacht wedding was a perfect setting for our wedding. It was very intimate and cozy. It's all I wanted for our wedding. We got married on DESTINY. My husband and I are very happy about our decision to have our wedding on a yacht. We had the whole place to ourselves and didn't have to worry about anything. The moment I met Susan P. I fell in love with her. She answers emails right away and if she doesn't, she gets back to you the next day. She is very nice and easy to talk to. She even helped/adviced us about our food and drink menu. We also had Karen work with us and she is fabulous! She made sure we were taken care of during the wedding day! I love them both and will forever be thankful for ELECTRA CRUISES for making my dream wedding come true!
Our wedding was amazing!! Susan and Brittany were so awesome and made everything run smoothly. We couldn't be happier 😊
Our wedding was a dream come tru. Everything went so smooth and I had no worries as the bride it was so stress free. Having Brittany as a cordinator was wonderful she was so friendly and happy. Thanks to Electra cruises our wedding was everything and more.
I'm giving the venue a 3 for my overall experience with electra cruises. When we first viewed all the yachts electra cruises had to offer, we were pretty satisfied. We chose the destiny yacht to get married and began our wedding process. Allison was whom we did all of the planning with up to the week before; and then they gave us ali to coordinate the wedding. I'm not sure why they would change the person the week before your special day. Especially when we discussed all our ideas and dreams with allison the year leading up to the wedding.
When we began the planning process it was fun for us. We even got to board the eternity yacht to have a tasting and meet the vendors electra coordinates with. The vendors we chose were amazing!! We chose cinderella cakes for cake pops and cake, roy mendoza for our dj, and La Vonne's florist for our floral design. We couldn't have been more satisfied with our vendors!!
The biggest downfall with electra cruises is their resolution techniques. We liked allison, however every time we had an issue, for example: going over our menu or making any minor adjustments, it seemed like a hassle for them. We also had a few questions that were not answered properly. One being the on-going construction they have. Allison assured us the construction would be finished by our wedding day, but it was not. When we asked the person working at the ticket booth she gave us an honest answer; so at least it wasn't as BIG of a suprise on our wedding day. Also i have yet to hear from the operations manager concerning the issues we encountered on the day of our wedding, which was on 10-17-15. Electra cruises is NOT skillfully prepared for weather on the destiny yacht. It was very hot on the yacht!! We had a lot of guests get sick from the heat. I've heard people complain that the heat was bad on the yachts in previous yelp reviews, but our ac broke. Electra should be more prepared for these kinds of situations. I would have been satisfied with a few fans around the boat and more open windows. They only provided a fan when we were eating at the bow of the boat. None of our guests had fans at their tables. We also paid for a champagne toast that roughly cost $500 and we did not receive one. The coordination for our cake cutting was also messed up and i found out that a few of our guests never even received a slice of cake. This saddens me. Be careful when choosing electra for your wedding. Although i chose to enjoy my day regardless of the issues we encountered.... there were quite a few problems. Our wedding party was announced incorrectly, i had to lug vases we paid for across the dock full of water in my wedding dress because of mis-communication, and it took a lot of effort from the groom and myself to get our things on and off the boat as well as back to the car. I hate to complain but these were truly difficult issues to encounter on a wedding day of all days. It did not feel like electra cruises was there for us overall. The vendors are the only reason this venue has a higher star rating.
Where do I start? From the beginning Lorraine and the team at Electra made this process so smooth and effortless. Lorraine was always available for any questions, had wonderful suggestions and cautionary advice while making us feel that she cared, and she did. On the day of the event everything was so well organized, which made it easy for us to fully enjoy and take in the most important day of our lives. I truly have no regrets and would do it all over again with Electra. A big thank you!!!
We worked with Susan Pereda and from the beginning she explained every detail and is very informed of the company. Our wedding night was beautiful and everything we dreamed and more. They have all the vendors and they are amazing. They sit down with you and ask you what you are looking for and they make sure you get what you want. There is a food tasting meet and greet with their vendors and it's absolutely free. It's a great way to meet the vendors and have all your questions asked. We loved every one of our vendors and had no complaints. We can't wait to book another function with them in the future. Our vendors were DJ Von, our minister was Bradley Phillip, Lyn from My Fair Lady Floral, Sharon Pulcino was our photographer, we got our cake from Cinderella Cakes and our Day of Wedding Coordinator was Gina who was amazing and did everything with ease and was so pleasant.
I would reccomend them to everyone!!
Sincerely,
Emily Lehnberg
The wedding planner was less than helpful. I had numerous questions that went un answered. She never called back or answered emails in a timely manner. She was vague in our financial dealing and just beat around the bush when i had questions. They day of wedding planner was awesome as was the crew on the boat. If you choose to use them you will be 75% happy with everything leading up to the wedding day and 95% happy with the special day. I hope you have better luck with the office people than i did.
Electra is the best place to have your wedding. They have natural beauty, great food and a wonderful staff. Our coordibator, Lorraine, was sweet, accomadating, and hard working! She was the fairy godmother every couple deserves to have when planning a wedding. The pricing was great, and I really appreciated having all my vendors provided for us to choose. Last but not least, Captain Torre gave us a ceremony that didn't leave a dry eye in the house.
I am so thankful that we chose Electra Cruises as our wedding venue. My husband and I could not have been happier with how our wedding turned out. It was completely flawless - how many couples can say that?! Throughout the whole planning process, Lorraine was incredibly helpful. She was an amazing communicator, answering my emails nearly as quickly as I sent them. For a bride planning her own wedding, this is PRICELESS. She never balked at how many emails I sent her and was always there with a helpful response. She is so sweet, too, and you can tell that she is there to make sure everything goes well with your big day.
Kim was our "day of" coordinator and there is no way our wedding would be as perfect as it was without her. She was AMAZING. She helped us schedule a rehearsal when I was sure we weren't going to be able to and completely calmed my worries about how all the timing was going to work. She was endlessly flexible when we needed to change some things around. She put all our decor out perfectly and helped make the boat look exactly how we had envisioned it would look. She was a much needed calming presence before everything was about to start, always reassuring me everything would go according to plan ... and it did! She made sure my Husband and I were where we needed to be at every moment, but never, ever rushed us. I cannot say enough amazing things about Kim.
If you're looking for a ridiculously unique experience for your guests and a memorable setting for your wedding, you gotta check out Electra Cruises.
When I was looking for a venue I wanted to find one that was low maintenance because I was also finishing college, working part time, and have my four year old little boy to look after. My agent was Lorraine and she was fantastic! She was always super fast in emailing me back about any questions or choices I had. Electra Cruises lets you meet a majority of their vendors at once by having them all on one boat. I loved that because in one night I got to compare all the different vendors. Saving me time is a definite plus for me. There is a base of what you get from each vendor included in the price, but you can always add extras as well. We had an intimate wedding of about 75 on the Newport Princess and it was beautiful. Starr was our on boat wedding coordinator and she was great. She kept everything moving and made sure my husband and I had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend, especially to couples who are looking for an all in one venue.
After searching far and wide for just the right wedding venue, we finally found Electra Cruises. I’m not going to lie, we were definitely drawn in by the one stop shop aspect of going with them. If you want to micromanage every detail of your wedding, this is not going to be the place for you. If you want a mostly no fuss wedding, however, please sign up! By going with an officiant, photographer, photo booth, DJ, and baker that is contracted with Electra (plus having the Electra coordinator handle it all), we were free to focus on several DIY projects to really personalize our wedding. Our original coordinator left the company mere weeks before the wedding, but our new coordinator, Susan, and day of coordinator, Karen, both made sure the day went off without a hitch. I would also definitely recommend the gondola ride option. It was nice to have some quiet alone time with my new hubby after all the craziness of the day.
The food was soo yummy. The tasting was easy, and omg the food was sooo good.
Best venue I could have ever asked for. I had the easiest wedding planning experience ever, Donna my wedding planner made everything so simple and easy. Had about 130 guests aboard the yacht Eternity and it was perfect.
We had 43 days from engagement to wedding and Electra Cruises made planning a wedding that quickly easy! It was basically one stop shopping. Once we booked with them we attended a vendor fair where we sampled the food available for dinner on the cruise then got to meet all of the people they vendor with. You are free to go with your own people but they had quality people they vendored with so we were quite happy with the ease of booking all of our people (photo, video, flowers, cake, and DJ) in one night.
We got married about the Yacht Eternity and were very pleased that in March they offer 30% off of their cruses. We were also stoked that for Sunday weddings there is no minimum number of guests for the various yachts so we were able to book the biggest yacht with only 115 guests.
Our coordinator, Donna was helpful and went above and beyond to help us out and our onboard coordinator Kim had everything under control as well.
Our guests loved our wedding and we got many compliments on how nice it was and how yummy the food was. My only suggestion would be to try to book a 5 hour cruise if you are doing your wedding and reception during the cruise. 4 hours was cutting it close, and everyone commented they wished there had been more than an hour of dancing.
Awesome job Electra Cruises!
We really wanted a low hassle, easy wedding and this was the perfect way to go. Star was our day of coordinator and was wonderful.
Electra Cruises was great to work with! They are professionals & the event was smooth. The coordinator was there to move us from one moment to the next. It was crazy how fast the evening flew by! The yacht was beautiful, the food was great, staff was friendly. Truly a wonderful venue! We had 135 guests and felt this was a great value for everything provided.
They took care of everything! I just had to tell them what I liked and they made sure I didn't have anything to worry about when it came to the day of! Would recommend them to everyone!
Since the first time I saw the yachts in a bridal magazine I knew that's where I wanted my reception to be at, and when my fiance saw it too there was no doubt we wanted the same thing, a truly beautiful and unique experience!
We had our reception at the Eternity Yacht, and let me tell you everybody LOVED it!!
We had the best wedding planner ( Donna Lacey is very patient, knowledgeable, friendly and the loveliest person I have ever met)
The best food ( ceasar salad, new wave chicken, scalloped potatoes and grilled vegetables, everybody went back for seconds!!)
The best DJ (Raul did everything perfect, he played everything we gave him and made everybody danced!)
The best photographer ( Jerry and his crew are very talented and professional!)
The best cake (cinderella cakes made the most beautiful and delicious cake ever!)
Overall, our reception was everything I expected and more.. they have the best crew ever!
With the exception of a few things, this is a great location, and they gave me as much or as little attention as I wanted over the months leading up to the wedding. Kim, our day of coordinator should be knighted simply because during the photos after the ceremony I commented that I was either hungry or still nervous and she commandeered a platter of appetizers and my entire bridal party and I polished it off in about a minute since we didn't have much of a chance for lunch.
Having said that, I know that when I read reviews, I want to see where the negatives are to look out for them.
1)I was told by multiple people that during the appetizer time they couldn't get drinks on the lower lever, they had to go up to where the staff was resetting the cermony/dining area. And that the appetizers were slow and there weren't enough.
2)They didn't tell us that the 2 weeks before payment had to be a cashier's check
3)And, to be nit-picky, they didn't do my life ring quite right. They reversed the side pictures.
Otherwise, this was a wonderful experience and I'm glad I had them to help me through the wedding process.
Oh, and I super cheaped out at $5,500 for 50 people, so it can be done!
Awesome time! Great food, the boat looked awesome, the lights in the harbor were spectacular, and everyone left wanting it to go on longer!
I don't even know where to start. Saturday was the most amazing day that I have ever had in my entire life! Honestly, you and Electra Cruises were the most wonderful venue and group of people to work with.
Maribel, my day of coordinator, was soooo calm which is exactly what I needed. Getting to the boat was a little chaotic at first and she just took me aside and answered all my questions, took notes and the rest of the night was in her hands.
Allison, my Sales Coordinator was a pleasure to work with throughout the year. She answered all my emails immediately and all of my questions a million times. I thank her for re-sending me the papers, charts, and pictures and giving us so much amazing advice. I thank her so much for allowing me to just trust that my wedding would be perfect with you planning it. It was absolutely amazing and I really would not change a single thing.
All the staff, bartenders, servers, clean-up crew, and everyone behind the Electra Cruises team were amazing! No bride that has had their wedding yet could ever understand and appreciate all of the little touches that Electra adds to your day. Coming home with hand washed toasting glasses, leaving the boat to find all of our presents, formal wear, and wedding décor was already loaded in our car, and the smiles on everyone's faces throughout the night was the most amazing experience. I truly felt like a princess the entire night and I would do it a million times all over again.
We absolutely loved Electra Cruises! Our families enjoyed every single min on the boat and keep talking about how amazing the food was.
If you are looking for a classy wedding look no further! They made my day everything I dreamed of and more!! The Newport Princess was the perfect vessel, and the pictures are amazing! My wedding planner Donna was fantastic, I can't thank her enough!! Thank you Electra Cruises!
Loved the venue. Unique location for a wedding with beautiful views of Newport. Got many complements from guests.
We were married aboard the Newport Princess 7/2013, and Electra Cruises provided a beautiful, fun, and relaxing day for us. The event was well planned and well executed. Our wedding planner was Alison and our day of coordinator was Mirabel - lovely ladies who sure know what they're doing!
Such a great location! Staff was absolutely wonderful!
I am so glad that we decided to have our wedding here. It was the best day ever. The whole day ran so smoothly thanks to the amazing coordination of all of the vendors led by the day-of coordinator. While Electra Cruises allows outside vendors, I HIGHLY recommend choosing from their list of vendors. They do weddings on the boats all of the time and they are so familiar with the way the wedding runs and they all work together to help each other out to ensure a perfect and smooth wedding. The fleet has 5 wonderful boats and we had our wedding on the Destiny which is their most popular ship. I highly recommend this venue if you are able to afford it! :)
We pretty much planned our wedding in 4 months. In that time, my contact person (Susan) was wonderful and sweet. Answered my multitude of questions and was always explained the processes and options until I fully understood. The day of the wedding, I had my own attendant to not only help with the overall wedding schedule, but to help with getting me (and my dress) up the stairs to the ceremony and she even saved us appetizers and had out dinner waiting for us on our table once the reception started. So glad I went tot them! And considering what some venues charge in fees, this place was the best bang for our buck!
My wedding day was amazing! Electra cruises was so organized and took all the stress off of me , the food was good and hot, guests were taken care of,the groom and I had a perfect day
We were married aboard the yacht Destiny. Everything turned out more beautiful than I expected. Working with Tabatha prior to the event was so easy and she kept me sane! The day off coordinator was amazing too! She kept everything running smoothly and me stress free
My new husband and I cannot stop raving about Electra Cruises! The package deals are amazing, we put on a wedding inline any other our family and friends have been too, the vendors they have to choose from are all amazing, and the staff was patient and empathetic to our specific situation. We recommend Electra 100%!!
I honestly have nothing bad to say about Electra cruises! They made my wedding a total success! We went on a Monday to avoid the minimum guest charges, and ended up having a great time! We worked with Heather and she was amazing! We had about 50 people and had total run of the boat, it was amazing! I would totally recommend Electra to all my friends and family. The food was fantastic!
My husband and I got married on the boat the Newport Princess. It was a absolutely beautiful wedding and all the guests had a blast. The staff was kind and helped us through every step of the process. Because the company is the one that pays for the vendors, we got some great savings on everything from the cake to the flowers. I would highly recommend this place. If you do, ask for Lorraine, she was amazing.
We chose Electra Cruises as our wedding yacht vendor after an extensive search. They were the only company that showed true professionalism and customer service from beginning to end. I always felt like they were taking care of all of the details and were attentive to us like they were our only customer. Their fleet of boats is great because there is something for everyone. We chose to get married on the historical 'Electra' yacht (the company is named after this yacht) and we are SO happy with how our special day turned out. The on board wedding coordinator was so patient and attentive and the entire staff made my guests feel special and taken care of. Their vendors are amazing too. I am also amazed at the price... you get a lot of 'bang for your buck' when you get married on an Electra yacht. Loved every minute.
We had DeeDee as our coordinator and she was great! She was friendly, organized, patient, and had great communication.
Electra seems to offer a fantastic value, priced a little less than the "average" Southern California wedding, and prices include pretty much everything. Easy!
The only reason we didn't use them was that all my friends and family runs late, and we didn't want them missing the boat!
Great venue, great tasting & HOT food!
From the moment I saw the yacht in person I was hooked! Beautiful. And after shopping around for a venue for months, I felt the value for what you get is excellent. The fact that they have a list of preferred vendors to choose from makes a busy bride-to-be life much easier. My wedding day went off without a hitch. From the moment I arrived the entire staff catered to me. The food was great, the staff was fab and DJ Raul kept the dance floor hot. My coordinator was Kat. An angel. I was concerned because I didn't know who my coordinator was going to be until that day, but she is so good at what she does it didn't matter. She kept everything on schedule and her only concern that day was my happiness. I recommend this venue to any bride to be.
We chose Electra Cruises for our wedding venue because it is an easy and more affordable all-inclusive option. Everyone had a great time and the pictures out on the water are amazing!
Well, hands down, the 4 hours on the boat was awesome!! Otherwise, it is okay. You work with someone in the office for months and then they arent there during your wedding so all the things they say are or are not going to happen...well they arent on the boat to enforce it. Also, the seating arrangements were a disaster causing my husband to have to fiddle with that during our pre wedding instead of taking pics or hanging out with his boys. But they did upgrade our bar to premium which was a nice gesture. Also, at the end of the wedding, they have a receiving line and DUH everyone is going to want to take a pic with you which takes FOREVER! So, then they start threatening to charge you an extra hour which is lame...if they did the receiving line on the dock it wouldnt cause a problem.
We loved it, our guests loved it. Pretty comparable in price to the hotels I looked at. Would highly recommend it - Susan is the BEST coordinator! Although she had so many brides, she treats you like you're the only one. Great memories! The food is excellent too - we got the new wave chicken and everyone thought it was delicious.
While looking for wedding venues it was tough in finding something that fit our price range and that was the least stressful because I would be planning most of the wedding on my own. Electra cruises provided us with a wedding coordinator that was there for everything that I needed. She was very helpful&my special day came together perfectly!
We got married on the Newport Princess riverboat through Electra Cruises. Tabatha Wilson (our wedding planner) was amazing from the start. She was there to answer any questions we had. When the wedding week came, we were set up with a wedding day coordinator (Adriana Calzada) for our rehearsal & the big day. She was amazing! So friendly & was there checking on us if we needed anything at all. The venue (Newport Princess riverboat) was so beautiful. All of our guests continuously commented on how beautiful it was. The staff (bartenders, waiters, etc) were all super friendly. We had an incredible time at our wedding & highly recommend this venue to everyone! It was a fun & unique wedding.
We got married on the Destiny and it was a wonderful wedding! We found it to be great value for the money. We were generally happy with everything.
BUT--AS A BRIDE I WAS STRESS OUT BECAUSE I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO SPEAK TO THE DAY CO-ORDINATOR TILL I GOT ON THE BOAT. SHE OVERWHELMED ME WITH QUESTIONS THAT I WAS IN NO FRAME TO ANSWER-MINUTES BEFORE MY WEDDING. SO MANY THINGS COULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF IF WE TALKED A FEW DAYS BEFORE. THE CAKE TOPPER WAS LEFT OFF FOR THE PICS, ALL THE FAVORS WERE PUT IN A PILE PLUS ALOT OF SCREW UPS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED. I HAD READ ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH THE DAY COORDINATOR IN COUNTLESS REREIWS. I SUGGEST YOU MAKE SURE THAT IT IS WRITTEN IN YOUR CONTRACT THAT YOU GO OVER YOUR WEDDING DETAILS WITH THE DAY COORDINATOR AT LEAST 72 HOURS BEFORE YOUR WEDDING. MAYBE IF ENOUGH PEOPLE DO THIS THEY WILL CHANGE THEIR POLICY!
I had my wedding at the Electra Cruises on July 4th 2012. My yacht was Athena and it was such a beautiful and clean yacht. We had our wedding at 5pm and because there was no direct sun light, our wedding pictures came out so well. All the staffs and coordinators were so great, food was awesome and every detail went smoothly.
You won't regret it!! Totally loved it!!
We fell in love with the Eternity yacht! It is a three story yacht with five out door decks. We had a guest list of 150 and the yacht accommodates up to 350. We had a lot of space for our guests, which we liked. Allison was our agent and she was extremely helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process. I highly recommend attending their vendor night to review and choose all of your vendors and to taste the food! Our day of coordinator was Cat. She made sure the entire day ran as smooth as possible. We loved her! All of our guests loved the yacht and said it was the best wedding that they have ever attended! However, the bartenders were a little snobby to a few of our guests. Also, make sure your guests do not bring any alcohol to the venue, because it will be confiscated and will not be returned. Other than that, I highly recommend Electra Cruises for your wedding at sea!
The sales reps were all very friendly, of course. My rep quit the company 2 months before my wedding. That was really no problem. I went to a friend's wedding on the Eternity (same as my wedding) a few months before and had a bunch of notes to verify...that the bar was open during cocktail hour, when the guests were allowed to board, the dinner service, etc. We got answers from our Sales Rep and the opposite happened at our wedding. I absolutely loved my day of Coordinator, Marisa. However, I had guests complaining to me that she was rude to them. Honestly, I didn't care because she did her job amazingly and got everything done! Overall, I think the yacht and food was overpriced for the value/quality. But the yacht was absolutely amazing and everyone Loved it. We got a lot of free services included, docking fee, gondola ride, linens, and an upgrade to well bar. With all those free, the bill was still really high.
Being a bride on a time crunch, I found electra cruises online and the yacht package they offered was perfect! I managed to have my dream wedding planned in less than 3 months with the help of Electra's fabulous coordinators who work side by side with you and not to mention their wonderful vendors. It was truly exceptional service and a beautiful venue. All my guests declare that it was the most fun they've ever had at a wedding! Food, decorations, atmosphere, music, everything was more than I was expecting.
To keep it simple and to the point. If you want to have your wedding at a venue where you won't have to STRESS, where your guests will have the time of their life, and ALL at an exceptionally affordable price, choose Electra!!
My new Wife and I were both thrilled with our wedding on the boat Athena. Zero stress, everyone worked well together. the food was Excellent (we did appetizers only) and everything went off like clockwork.
4 stars instead of 5 because the price wasn't exactly Cheap. but I didn't compare it to a fully flushed out wedding done somewhere else. it's at least competitive, compared to our daughters wedding a year ago.
For me, the icing on the cake with going with Electra was having Mona who managed our time on the boat. what could have been like herding cats was flawlessly handled by Mona. she made our lives so easy and peaceful on the day when it mattered the most. Get yourself a Mona! ! !
