l forward. Every time we had a meeting there would be an excuse on why she had to reschedule. The first time I actually got to see her was in December when she emailed me advising the flight agent was being introduced. This is almost over a month of having my signed contract. I felt she didn’t want to dedicate time to my wedding and I was left as a side note. The work she claims she put into the info she had given to me was supplied by the travel agent. She would advise Aruba is on island time and that is why it took so long for communication to come through- funny thing is they emailed me back within 24 hours (What took Maria a month todo. ) We walked away loosing $500 which is a lot for me but the right decision. I finally threw the towel in this past January. Maybe she spread herself too thin I don’t know- all I know is that she is not responsive in a timely manner- I took chance even though the other reviews said the same thing. If you hire Maria- know that timeliness in a response is not given. I unfortunately don’t work well with someone that won’t respond. I hired a full service wedding planner and was not given that. I walked away before it was too late.

e are for Maria and her team. All the little details that went wrong or that I felt unprepared for, Maria took care of them and fast. I swear she must have taken 40,000 steps that day because she was always on the move getting things done. I am a very organized person, but nothing prepared me for how much went into planning a wedding. When I say that Maria took care of everything and made my day perfect, I mean it. She’s truly one of a kind and I will never stop saying good things about her and her team!

. She contacted me almost daily and rallied behind me and Kenn. So many of her friends donated TONS and TONS of stuff to us including many wedding services. It was an outpouring of love. In times that I would get stressed and maybe seem like I was ready to lose it she always stayed calm. I trusted that the end goal was always going to be as close to perfect as possible. She is a busy woman and had her own set of stresses during the time we were planning but she made it happen. She’s a professional and has a huge heart. She showed up to our rehearsal dinner, the hotel in the morning to say hello and make sure all is well, and was at our wedding late into the evening. She was there for everything and I saved a lot of money by hiring her. My only regret is that I didn’t get to take a photo with her so I could show you how beautiful she is inside and out. During the planning process, my daughter and I encountered a few obstacles and decided to look into a wedding planner knowing that due to the size of the wedding (final count attending was 300!), we would most definitely need a day-of-coordinator. With Maria on our team everything was stress free. She attended vendor meetings and made phone calls when needed. The day of the wedding she started early in the morning and stayed until the very end. She went to the venue first thing in the morning to make sure it was getting set up as we wanted. After this she came to the house where the bride was getting ready and handled the photographer and videographer so that we could continue to get ready without having to deal with details. Next, she went to the church before us to make sure everything was in place for the ceremony. She was always one step ahead of us making sure it was a perfect day. Without her I do not believe that everything would have ran as smoothly and on-time. Maria made me so comfortable that I was confident the venue would look exactly as the bride had envisioned. Thanks to her, I was not worried at all that morning because I knew she had everything under control. It turned out even better than we had envisioned!!!! The look on my daughter’s and new son’s face as they walked into the ballroom for their first look was priceless. Many of our guests have said it was the best wedding they had ever attended. Words cannot express how amazing Maria is. If you want a magical day for your child and a wedding that you will be able to sit back and enjoy, take her on your team!

Before the wedding we hit quite a few road blocks and with just one phone call, she takes over and swoops in and saves the day every single time! My only regret is not bringing her on the day after I got engaged (had I known about it, I would have). She quickly becomes family and anticipates your needs the day of and during planning before you even realize you don’t like something or something is off. I constantly hear horror stories of people not enjoying their wedding days… My whole family and I can’t say we experienced that. The whole day was a blast because Maria made sure everything went off with a hitch. Don’t even think twice about it, just hire Maria now.

I mailed my deposit to the address instructed by her and never recieved a call after a month had passed by. To summarize things up, I contacted her she act as though she never recieved anything. Made another deposit and met with her in person, did not hear from her until I contacted her, which continued on for over 9+ months! She would never contact me unless I contact her. We did majority of our booking and still had many other things that needed to be reserved with deposits. She then stopped answering calls,text and emails. When I finally would get in contact with her she would have an excuse that either she was sick or her entire house was sick with the flu on multiple occasions, then it led to she couldn't respond because she has no service... excuse after excuse... which led be to believe that our wedding was the least of her priorities. 6 to 5 months into our wedding she still had not helped with booking everything she was supposed to and was not in contact with the majority of our vendors." She would not take the initiative to communicate about our wedding until I was able to get in touch with her. We were never returned our deposit in which she kept for services that weren't provided. Maria was Fired about 4 months away from our wedding. Luckily we were able to find a terrific wedding planner who made our dreams come true

And, worked with Lori from Reilly's Originals and many vendors to ensure that the spectacular hanging floral centerpiece which was 16 feet long was the ultimate show stopper at the Barn. She was my go to person for advise, and would always text me back, meet me for planning with vendors, or answer my phone calls. If you want a fabulous wedding, hire Maria!!

During the planning she met with us while we met with several vendors until the right ones were found. I was extremely picky about finding the perfect venue and she had the perfect suggestions based off of what my husband and I both wanted. I couldn't have done this without Maria. Its really disturbing that someone would send you a contract to be signed and then never respond to you. It was extremely unprofessional. I put a stop to the check through my bank and gave up on her. This is supposed to be the most exciting time of my life and this woman tried to ruin that. And to top it all off I recently got an email from her announcing her new bridal salon!!!! Are you kidding!! She clearly is way to occupied trying to open up a bridal salon than running her event planning business. I would stay FAR away from this woman!

She coordinated the entire rehearsal and made sure everyone was where they needed to be the day of. My step-mother-in-law works at a church and commented that Maria was "everywhere" and knew what she was doing better than any wedding coordinator she has worked with at her church. Definitely worth the expense.

Maria makes you feel at ease because she radiates confidence in her abilities. The entire night went too smooth to believe. It was the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen. sister worked with one of the planners at Elegant Events by Maria and referred me to the company. From the beginning, Maria and Cindy worked with us to understand our vision for our big day and make our event unique and classy. If full disclosure, I wasn’t even sure if I wanted a wedding, a wedding can be stressful with drama and so many family dynamics, but Cindy and Maria assured us it would be perfect, and they were right. From deciphering contracts, to helping to negotiate prices and helping us work on quantities needed, they were there to help us every step of the way. Cindy was so creative, routinely sending me ideas of different details that would make my event extra special. She even made us sequined, feathered headbands, and at the end of the night, everyone was dancing and wearing them – so fun. Maria helped coordinate our DJ. He was THE BEST DJ EVER! Hands down. We are not kidding. We had our dance floor packed until the very end. We would have gladly paid extra to have him play for extra time, but unfortunately, our venue was very strict about the ending time. We routinely have people who tell us our wedding was the best wedding ever, and we feel that Elegant Events by Maria was a big reason for this. I always tell people – don’t scrimp, hire a wedding planner, so you can enjoy your day. On a day this special and memorable, do you really want to be running around and worrying about the details. NO! Hire people who know what they are doing to help you with these things. They helped us coordinate our invites, food, table settings and arrangement of our cookie table. I was speechless when I saw the reception area. It was so beautiful! We had our reception in a park that is a famous place to have weddings in our area, and the staff came to take pictures. It was that beautiful. I felt that I was a difficult bride, and Cindy and Maria managed me! They took the burden off my husband and I so we could enjoy our day and they executed. We cried after our wedding was over! It was so beautiful and so flawlessly executed. We credit a lot of the success of our day to Elegant Events by Maria, and would hesitate to recommend them when planning a wedding. Trust me, it’s so worth it. We could have never imagined our wedding to be such a smashing success. It far exceeded our expectations and provided us with a priceless memory which we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Her experience and personality conveys a soothing confidence that every bride needs on her big - yet stressful - day. The amount of time and dediation Maria put in to making our day everything that we could have ever dreamed of was truly something that we'll never forget. Looking back, Maria was the only planner that could have pulled everything off and we will be indebted to her for our lifetimes.

We had a large Indian wedding that lasted all day (I mean all day, our vendors started at 2 AM!) and she started before the sun went up! Maria made our timeline for us and went over it in detail prior to the wedding, set up all our decor that we had dropped off at the venue, coordinated with all our vendors, made sure to pack us lunches on the go so we could get to our photography session downtown, and saved the day after the wedding by finding some very important items that had been missing. She went to the venue to search for them after we already had. Her girls watched over our gift box when the security officers we hired didn't show, until the very end of the reception. After planning for months, a bride worries about the little details the day of - setting up table numbers, place cards, pictures, handling the cake delivery, flower delivery, coordination with the caterers, etc. Maria and her team handled all of the little details, making our day stress free so we could enjoy our better half :-). I would hire Maria and her team again in a heartbeat!

she had another wedding the same day as mine and would not be attending my wedding. After seeing photos it was a large budget affair. Her service is disappointing and hurtful. Don't waste your time or money, your special day is too important to trust to Maria.

She only showed me venders who would give her a bonus through our purchase. She didn't even show up the day of my wedding because she had a better wedding to attend and sent an inexperienced day of coordinator who was horrible!!! I would. It recommend to any of my friends or family. To top it off I went to the dentist one day and was talking about my experience and the receptionist had hired Maria and had the same problem for her wedding. She fired her and got someone new for the day of. Disappointing.

Her guidance with the vendors consisted of three emailed names, no description or suggestions. I could have done the same thing on my own. We gave her details of both the bride and grooms personality to help with picking the vendors but when I questioned the three names she said he bride needs to tell me if she needs more names. She didn't answer my emails when I asked about it she basically said I lied and she always answers emails. We hired her in January and as of May she had never visited the venue. How can you help with theme and design when you have never visited the location. The reason for hiring a wedding planner was to avoid stress not create it

Maria knows her stuff--when we met with her for a venue walkthrough, we came away more hopeful and confident about our choices and the event itself than we had been previously. I can't thank Maria enough for keeping me sane via kind and encouraging text messages and emails during the last leg of the planning process...I tend to freak out a lot about details and imagine huge problems where there aren't any! The wedding went off without a hitch (as far as I knew--Maria made sure I didn't know otherwise!) and I couldn't be happier. My husband and I both work full time and have other obligations outside of work, so I can't imagine doing everything without a coordinator to help out. We consider ourselves lucky that we were able to afford one--don't be afraid to admit that you need help! It's so worth it in the end.

The bride and groom, the groom's parents, and my husband and I were able to enjoy the day because we knew that Maria was taking care of all of the details. She is truly outstanding.

er's dream. Maria accepted and off we went. I live in Ohio and my daughter lives and would be married in Charleston, SC. With Maria's guidance a date, venue, and church were chosen. We met in Charleston in early spring. Maria set up various vendor apts., guided us through the meetings, and helped us sort out which ones would be perfect for us. In the end she juggled some 12 different vendors. One reason all went so smoothly for us was the relationship Maria was able to develop with each vendor. Whether it was the caterer, the band, the florist, or the transportation coordinator, they all enjoyed dealing with Maria and she was a "Yankee"! As you know Charleston is a destination city and bargains are hard to find. Maria was able to use a relationship she had with an Ohio vendor and transported all the linens to SC. This was done at a considerable savings to me. During this planning process one remarkable skill Maria used was her ability to implement compromises between Mother and Daughter without stress or harsh words from either. Just check the weather in Charleston on August 9, 2014 to see just what Maria dealt with. A torrential rain at high tide during a super full moon. FLOODS! She remained calm, had contingencies planned, and all went smoothly and dreams were realized. Maria is a gem.

As a control freak it was great being relaxed and stress free because I knew she was taking care of everything. I say "kept her head above water" because while most brides would be freaking out about the flooding rains in Charleston occurring on my wedding day... She still managed to pull everything off without a hitch.. And what issues there were I didn't even notice! I would highly recommend her to anyone. I don't think there are enough days left in my lifetime to thank her for all that she did on our special day. It is definitely a day we will always remember.

with vendors and more importantly time definitely more than pays for her services and her fee can fit into almost any budget. I would advise all brides to compare prices with all vendors and no less then 3 to make sure you are getting the best price.

It was really nice to not have to worry about things on the day of the wedding. I can’t say enough good things about Maria! You will not be disappointed! Best money that I spent on the wedding!

I tried calling multiple times but only received an email two weeks before my wedding saying my venue was being uncooperative and she was leaving the country for a couple days. I have not heard from Maria since and my wedding was almost a month ago. A week before the wedding my we fired her via email and a week AFTER my wedding she returned the $200 deposit through the mail to my parents with no explanation or apology. The whole ordeal was so stressful, which was the exact opposite reason of why I was spending so much money to hire her. She does not even deserve the 1 star I gave her.

Planning events with many months of anticipation is a must for anyone with the majority of family in another country. Having choices presented for someone that is NOT from the same city is also greatly appreciated when you pay a full service for a wedding coordinator. Neither of these two occurred while the vendor was hired. I would have liked to experience the "awesomeness" of this vendor as a wedding coordinator but the performance was way less than expected. I am also thinking that maybe this vendor is used to working with brides that already have everything planned out. I did have a general idea for my wedding but didn't have many details organized (reason why I wanted some professional help to plan it!) Hopefully the vendor can improve any weaknesses for the near future and can surpass any expectations from future customers.

At first I was very upset when I found out that my sister (MOH) spent $$$ on a wedding planner. I was so angry at her for spending money on something I didn't think I needed. Let me just start off by saying that Maria and her staff were more than we could have ever imagined. We had so many hiccups that happened along the way that Maria and elegant events made everything seem so calm and relaxed. A few months before our wedding we received a letter in the mail that our original reception hall went bankrupt. Thank The Lord that we got our deposit back but holy crap Maria made te situation seem so simple. I called her immediately at 7am and was crying like a baby. Maria Maria my hall I don't have one. She said Melinda it will be fine. Give me a few hours and I will call several places in the area and get back to you. Within the next hours she had called me back and had appointments scheduled for me the next day to go and see two different halls. By Monday we had a new venue and a new ceremony location. What would I have done without her in this situation. Who knows. The next thing that really stood out to me is the week and day of. Maria was in contact with me everyday the week of the wedding and we had several meetings. The day of couldn't have gone any smoother. Elegant events met us at out hair appointment in the morning made sure all vendors were there and set up. I literally had a worry free day and was so relaxed. While getting ready they were downstairs he entire time coming back and forth asking what we needed. This helped us out so much so we weren't running like a chicken with our heads cut off. Noelia stayed until the last main event was over to make sure we were satisfied and everything was what we expected. We had an issue in the middle of the reception with the hotel and immediately elegant events was upon the issue and it was taken care of. The best advice I can give to future brides - this was one of the top investments that we made for our wedding. - bring a hot glue gun (this was our secret weapon the morning of) we used this thing like 5 times. - if you want someone to rely on and make sure all you have dreamed is going to happen book elegant events. Maria and Noelia I thank you both for all that you did and helped out with all the days of our engagement and our wedding day. You both were so relaxed and calm throughout every step of the way. You both remaining calmed kept me calm and at ease. I am so thankful and glad that my sister found you guys and we were able I experience such a awesome vendor.
