hat event was so spectacular, that when I found out I would be responsible for the wedding and reception for my son's wedding I immediately booked Maureen! Our wedding was going to be a complicated large wedding with the wedding party and guests from literally all over the globe. The bride also was living abroad which made it especially challenging to plan. So Maureen and the bride had dozens of Skype calls and guided us with such expertise and patience throught! She and her staff were so professional and thorough, and managed every detail to perfection. I am sure there were things that as always don't go according to plan, but Maureen and her staff were so good that neither I, the wedding party, or the guests noticed! My husband is from Louisiana and I am from Texas. We wanted to incorporate things from both of our home states. She had the idea for us to choose some Cajun entrees to quench the Cajun craving and a paleta cart to showcase my San Antonio roots. These were both a hit! I didn’t realize it until after the wedding but, she anticipated mine and my husband’s needs before we even knew we had them. Maureen is detail oriented. She, as well as her team assume the title of advocate, planner, go getter, and ultimately, friend. My wedding was perfect because of Elegant Events by Maureen! Their work took mine and my husband’s breath away. The reception was so much more than I ever dreamt it could be. Maureen’s close work with all of our vendors paid off in the best way. The look, feel, and mood were a perfect translation of every detail I had given over the months of planning. I sit here, a little over two months after the wedding with the biggest smile on my face. In those couple of months, the wisdom and expertise she offered me via phone and email was more valuable than any of the other wedding planners or planning services I consulted with when I was shopping around for a planner. Let's also talk about how she called me within minutes of me first reaching out to her on her website for information on her services. In that first call, she spoke to me for over an hour (free of charge) about my wedding vision and offering her knowledge and referral contacts for just about every vendor I needed. She had names of who to call, what they charge, and just dropping her name led to discounts with several of these amazing vendors. I truly believe you get what you pay for, and Maureen's expertise could easily let her charge 5x more than what she does. When you talk to other wedding planners during those first couple of consultation calls, everyone is definitely nice and helpful, but Maureen is all of that plus so much more. I promise once you talk to her, you'll know that this is the person who will make your wedding dream happen, get you the most competitive prices from vendors (because they all know her), and make your big day better than you imagined. I am not naturally the most detail oriented or creative person, and Maureen helped make the day unique to me and my fiance by bringing up new ideas and finding photos that sparked things we could incorporate into our day. Now I have memories and things that are special to us that I'll cherish forever. During the reception, Jenna and her staff not only made sure that my husband and I had everything we needed, but they also made sure my parents were good too. When my husband and I got back to our hotel room, all of our bags were there waiting for us and there were two plates of food and cake in the refrigerator. We hadn’t eaten much of our dinner due to nerves, so this was such a nice surprise! I cannot recommend Jenna and Elegant Events enough! The customer service that we received the day of the wedding and throughout the whole planning process was outstanding. We enjoyed this wedding planning process so much! husband and I reserved the beautiful Gallagher Headquarters Ranch for our wedding day early on. We had guests coming to San Antonio from all over the world, and we had the perfect venue for them to have a wonderful Texan experience. We just needed the perfect wedding planner. One afternoon about nine months before the big day, my best friend and I were talking on the phone while both looking at Elegant Event’s Website. I remember my best friend shouting, “Who is the florist she works with, and why have I never used her?! Look at those amazing flowers!!” That was it for me. I immediately called and left a voicemail for Maureen. Much to my surprise Maureen called me back almost immediately. I tell this story because from the very beginning it described my wonderful working relationship with Maureen. She is diligent, very detail-oriented, creative, and has close relationships with some of the best wedding vendors in Texas. Pictures of the flowers and tables at my wedding still bring tears to my eyes. The up lighting to emphasize the architectural details of the historic ranch. Flawless. The catering was delicious. The cake and mini-desserts were even better. How could I forget the paper suite and photography? Stunning. My paper suite would make my late mother immensely proud. All of these amazing and unforgettable details of my wedding are entirely the product of Maureen and Jenna’s outstanding talent and eye for detail. calm -- no matter how many curveballs we threw at her. Turning a non-wedding-venue (in our case, a ranch) into a wedding venue? This is one of Maureen's many specialties; she got to work right away on meeting our water and electrical needs, drawing up schematics of the layout, and communicating with the caterer and other vendors to make sure everything would work. (Her network of vendors, from floral to cakemaking to sound, is the best in the business.) She secured us a last-minute tent when the weather forecast turned questionable, rolled with (and accommodated) the news that we would have many more guests than we originally thought, and ensured that the sound for our ceremony was loud and clear, as we had hearing-impaired guests. She is always available -- on the phone, email and in person -- which is especially helpful for out-of-town couples. We had only a few weekends to fly in and meet with vendors, and she always made herself available for that. She also scheduled phone calls and found time to talk with us around our schedule, even on nights and weekends. No weird limitations on communication, no sense of reluctance. She never judged our opinions, and always made sure the bride's voice was heard, no matter how many other people were throwing in their suggestions. All of our ideas, from a Ferris wheel(!) to a Prince-symbol groom's cake, were made a reality. It was a beautiful, fun day in which we didn't have to worry about anything. Every detail was covered, down to Maureen's assistant Jenna sewing a button on the minister's coat right before the ceremony. We're so happy we chose Elegant Events.

Like recommending we hire a line dance instructor to come to our western themed welcome party on Friday. From coming to all of my vendor meeting (which she had provided an extensive vendor suggestion list to choose from), to making house calls - Maureen managed everything. And managing everything for my wedding was no simple task; I had a destination wedding at Camp Waldemar with 34 people in our wedding party alone and that did not even include our families! You proved from the beginning you were professional and very organized with your notebook on each bride at every meeting. You directed us to numerous amazing vendors in many cities in Texas and you came with us to all meetings to take detailed notes and give opinions. The respect each of the vendors has for you is obvious! Of course, no one wants to organize bus schedules and you can do it with your eyes closed. Our itineraries were checked and rechecked by you to make sure all the times worked. Lighting from San Antonio, florals from Austin, cakes from Houston and San Antonio, and the list goes on and on but you put them all together. You met with each and then together and everyone was on the same page for the big day. Your attention to the smallest detail was never missed and you gave us so many great suggestions which were always appreciated and carried out. With every detail covered through emails, conference calls, and numerous site meetings with the vendors, the wedding weekend came and that meant you pulled together your wedding helpers to drive golf carts, direct traffic, take care of groomsmen and bridesmaids and so much more. Everyone had ear pieces to communicate. And if there was a problem with a lost aunt or something, you did not dare tell me on that special day – you solved it beautifully. Those are the steps and care you have given to each and every one of my daughters. My last at Camp Waldemar was tackled with the same enthusiasm and love as always. I use the word love because you embrace each bride with love and that is amazing! The biggest difference at Camp Waldemar is the wedding is all weekend and everyone is in bunk houses expected to be entertained and fed at all times. You are a pro at that camp and the challenge was no challenge to you! All the months of careful planning, the spreadsheets of costs, the buses coming from different cities, and more details than I can list, came together so beautifully and seamlessly that everyone enjoyed themselves immensely and my daughter was the happiest I had ever seen her. That is success at the highest level. So many thank yous I have to give you Maureen...I just wish I had more daughters!

The wedding took place on a cliff overlooking the Guadalupe and with a backdrop like no other and music from an amazing quintet, the ceremony was breathtaking. And as it ended, moving this group down to the river’s edge was a challenge with golf carts, buses and walking. But when the guests arrived at the tent below, they were transformed into an elegant Hill Country ranch theme complete with prickly pear cactus and white on white with touches of blush. The flower designs by The Elegant Bee were incredible. The tent from Peerless could have fit a sports team. But with AC combating the 100 degrees outside, and amazing draping inside, we were transformed into another world all together. Eric Holtz’ lighting in the trees and inside the tent lit up the draping and the antler chandeliers with precision. He spotted the 6 foot high bride’s cake and the striking rattlesnake in the groom’s cake. It was magical. Don Strange created a wild game menu which was very delicious to all. The band from Atlanta, Jessie’s Girls, kept the guests entertained for hours. This fabulousness did not put itself together. You started by working with my daughter on her desired style and colors and rentals. You endured her mind changes for table cloths until we had it just right. You expertly worked with each of the vendors. We traveled to Austin, Houston, Boerne, and San Antonio to get the job done. We had vendor meetings all together to work on logistics. You met with so many vendors at the site during the year to make sure the tent was just right for the headcount and the locations would work for the scaffolding set up – a week before and a week after to put it up and take it down. Limbs in the trees had to be cut for the buses. You had the drivers come to the ranch to make sure. Cakes delivered from Houston and Austin had to be put immediately in the cold AC of the tent. So many details were worked on and figured out – signs made, elegant bathroom trailers set up, lighting inside and out – you did it! And you did not come alone but you came with an army of helpers to carry out this difficult wedding. The best part about the wedding was watching my daughter as her face was full of happiness. She never stopped smiling the entire day and night. This was her day and you knew this and took care of her through this process. She and I are both forever grateful to you – for your skills as a planner but mostly for your sincere support and caring which we felt always. Thank you, Maureen!

Maureen was responsive from the very first email and after our first phone consultation together, I knew we were in good hands with Elegant Events! From the florist to the cake (oh I still wish I had more of the cake) they knew all of the right people to help me stay within my budget and still get just what I envisioned. Jenna was ever so patient with me and she spent hours on the phone walking me through different options and completing shopping for the event. They had everything planned out for the day of the wedding and as far as I know there were no issues just the way I wanted it. When we first met I said all I want to do is show up to a beautiful wedding....and I did, it was wonderful. The day was so great I'm already dreaming up our vow renewal in 5 years and yes I'd use Elegant Events along with the florist, baker, rentals, caterer I was that happy with it all. Elegant Events (specifically Jenna, who I worked with most directly) showed me they wanted my business (very refreshing, in an industry where there will be another bride tomorrow) - they addressed my thoughts on why/why not a planner and created a more specified offering that met my needs (specifically a day-of focus). This allowed me to create the designs I had in mind, work with the vendors, and ensure I was "in the know" on the overall plans, which was important to me. Meeting with Jenna for our final walk through, we were impressed with her organization, her knowledge and experience (how much power does a band need? I wouldn't even know to ask that!), and her attitude. We felt confident that she would be our advocate with the vendors on the day of the wedding, ensuring that things were set up correctly as we moved between two locations (ceremony and reception). She was undaunted by the boxes of candle holders for the centerpieces or the extra large custom made cornhole boards that she made fit into her car. Jenna and Maureen kept us on schedule the day of the wedding (even though the girls were running a bit close!) to allow the day to start on time, which I appreciated. At the reception, Jenna made sure to keep us aware of timing (ie: cake cutting after the next song) while allowing us to enjoy the evening. We left knowing that our guests would be safely guided to our provided transportation with Jenna there to help. While I wasn't initially sure if I needed a wedding planner, I would now recommend Elegant Events to anyone in San Antonio planning a wedding. The amount of small details we were able to include by having an extra pair of hands and eyes (signs at the Church and reception, bathroom care kits, candle centerpieces, etc) helped us make the day our own. Everyone who attended was impressed. The entire event went off without a hitch. And I was actually able to relax and enjoy the evening. She also took special care of my daughter-in-law throughout the whole process making her feel at home in the USA. One more point. Maureen encouraged my son and his wife to be creative in choosing elements to put in the ceremony. As a result their ceremony was very personalized and they even had all the guests come up to do a blessing over them. As a result the guests felt a part of the wedding. I would highly recommend Maureen and her assistant who both worked hard to give our family a lovely wedding and reception plus memories for a lifetime.
