I worked with Dina and had a great experience. After going to several bridal salons in NYC, Dina helped me find the dress and full look (veil, earrings, etc.). Would recommend!
I am a mother of the groom; he is my only child. I adore him and his bride, my future daughter in love. I started looking for a dress online, I tried dresses on in department stores and bridal shops, and it was disappointing and frustrating. Then I walked into the magical world of Elizabeth Johns. I was met by smiles and warmth from everyone before I was introduced to my fairy godmother, Christine.
From that moment on the entire experience was enchanting. Christine made me feel like an important part of this wedding and that we would work together to create the perfect look for me. Christine let me try on everything I wanted. She explained why some styles flattered while others just fell flat on me.
Then ‘bipity bopity boop’ I had my Cinderella moment; it was on my bucket list and I didn’t even know it. Once we chose the dress and the material my vision of myself changed. I had never felt so beautiful. My husband had tears in his eyes when I said yes to the dress. I carried around a swatch of material. Looking at it made me smile.
I was on pins and needles waiting to hear when she arrived. Christine helped with suggestions on shoes, jewelry, shapeware and followed up to make sure my dress was on time, the wedding was so soon.
When my dress arrived and I saw her for the first time. She looked so big on the hanger and on me. But Christine had brought in a woman with magic hands and the ability to make your wishes come true, Tatiana, a woman who can spin gold out of straw Tatiana saw my vision, just as Christine had. She started pinning my dress and molding her to fit my body. Tatiana was the finishing touch turning me into the happiest women in the world. She even created a wrap out of the extra material from the hem.
My husband came to the last fitting and had tears in his eyes again when he saw me. I had a smile so big it hurt my face. EVERYONE at the wedding mentioned how beautiful my dress was and how stunning I looked. The groomsmen caught their breath when I joined them for pictures. No one else had a dress like mine. They could not. She is one of a kind, material and dress made just for me.
Whether you are the bride, the mother of the bride or groom, a guest, a debutant, a girl going to prom or just someone who really likes dressing for dinner, you will find the ensemble that shows how beautiful you really are at Elizabeth Johns. Everyone in the store becomes a part of your support system. The women who greet you at the door, stylists and seamstresses, always with a warm welcoming smile on every face made me feel like they were so happy to see me.
And I thank them all for making me feel beautiful and special as mother of the groom.

I have never written a review like this before and truly wish I could be mote positive, but I honestly had a such negative experience with this bridal shop every step along the way. In hindsight, I would have saved hours of my time, thousands of dollars, and so much stress if I purchased elsewhere.
The communication was extremley poor (and at times uncomfortable/ unprofessional). Anything done in-house will take 10x longer than they tell you, and the estimated timelines are usually off by months.
I ordered my dress October 1st 2023 and have just received the last bit of my order (custom sleeves from EJ Seamstress) today, September 6, 2024. My wedding is next month. First, my consultant ordered the incorrect lace ($1k) for this custom work (another $1k), so I had to order another $1k of the correct fabric; she also tried to gaslight me and force me into getting in-house alterations even though I live out of state and explicitly said I would not be doing this, sent the fabric lace to the wrong address, and incorrectly told my my dress and custom sleeves were supposed to be ready for pickup two months ago (they hd not even begin the custom work when I picked up the dress.. less than three months out from my wedding). Now I have to pay for rush alterations, in addition to the additional $3k it cost me to order these sleeves/material through EJ.
Furthermore, there was A DARK STAIN ON THE FRONT OF THE DRESS when I picked it up (which had apparently passed their “quality control” check) that I had to point out to get cleaned.
I cannot be more relieved to never have to interact with this business ever again. All my other wedding vendors have been professional, prompt, fair and communicative. I find this business to be an overpriced, poorly organized, with a lack of attention to detail or quality assurance. Not to mention lack of appreciation or attention to their customers.
Yes, they have a nice selection of dresses, but their positive attributes ends there.
Christine Bogan dressed three generations of women in our family. Every one of us was so happy and the choices were amazing. The bride was stunning and perfect and the alterations were spot on. The customer service was over the top wonderful. We are so thankful!
Working with the staff at Elizabeth Johns in Morristown was an absolute dream come true! When it came time to look for my wedding dress, I knew that I needed to go to Elizabeth John’s. Sarah listened to my preferences, let me explore the showroom, and expertly helped find the wedding dress of my dreams! The staff perfectly styled me head-to-toe in a modern yet timeless wedding day look that I will always remember. Elia, my alterations professional, was incredible and made my dress sit me perfectly. Thank you, Elizabeth Johns, for an unforgettable experience and for making my wedding day so special!
I went to Elizabeth John's after a quest to find a dress for my daughter's wedding. From the moment we walked into the bridal salon, I knew the search would end here. Sarah is AMAZING--so knowledgeable and had instant thoughts for what would be great for me. She chose something I would not have picked and it is perfect. She is so thoughtful, creative and smart. She was honest and made this an easy decision. I can't recommend Elizabeth Johns or Sarah more for any bridal need!
I was absolutely blown away and so impressed by the personable, friendly, and heartwarming experience at Elizabeth Johns. Immediately walking into the salon I felt important. If you are beginning your search looking for your dream gown sadly you might find that this is rare. This is what makes Elizabeth Johns compare to no other in the area. They are warm, friendly, knowledgeably and truly care about your vision. Being a wedding photographer I was told prior how incredible they were but no words would prepare me for how at home I felt here. Their selection is incredible and they are willing to work with you vision. I cannot say enough about this salon other than GO FOR IT! You will not regret the memories that are about to be made at Elizabeth Johns!
I was recommend to visit Elizabeth Johns through a friend based on the style I was looking for. I am so happy I decided to go because it was such a special experience. I worked with Dina and she was so patient and helpful. She guided me throughout the entire appointment. I went wayyy over the time limit, but I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision, but I was so happy to say yes to the dress. I keep dreaming of the next time I can put on my dress! I am so excited to be an EJ bride!
Elizabeth Johns is THE place to buy your wedding gown. I cannot say better things about this store and team. From the second I walked in, I was greeted warmly and allowed to talk through what I was thinking about browse through the store. Not all bridal salons allow you to walk around and look, but they did and that is how I found my dress. The ladies that work there are INCREDIBLE. So sweet, supportive, caring, and I truly felt like they cared about me feeling the best I have ever felt on my wedding day. Their seamstresses are amazing and helped with every little detail. They were patient and kind. I am actually sad that I won’t be seeing them anymore! LOVE them.
I feel so lucky that I was able to find my dress at Elizabeth Johns. From my first appointment every consultant was so helpful in understanding my style and pulling great wedding dresses for me. They were supportive and really listened to what I wanted. When I said yes to the most beautiful dress I've ever seen, the EJ staff immediately began helping me add some custom touches so it was completely me and everything I've ever wanted in a wedding dress.
Nicole was so amazing throughout the entire process and always offered advice and made sure I had everything I wanted in my dress. She gave great suggestions that enhanced the dress.
Maribel, the seamstress, worked absolute wonders on my dress. My dress would not have been the same without her. I had a huge ballgown with so many layers and she worked some kind of magic for me to get it hemmed, bustled and add straps. She made me feel so comfortable in it with her alterations. This dress definitely required a lot of work and she graciously met with me on an off day to make sure everything was to absolute perfection. I am so incredibly grateful to her for allowing me to truly feel like a queen.
Elizabeth Johns was amazing! Sarah made the experience so special. She was so kind, friendly, and made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. She found me my dream dress- exactly what I described to her. It was exactly what I always dreamed of for myself. I loved my experience here and highly recommend.
I found the perfect mother of the bride dress at Elizabeth Johns. The dress came in a few months earlier than expected and I was able to make my appointments for my fittings around my schedule.my seamstress was great and very professional. I needed three fittings to get everything just right. At my last fitting, the shop accommodated me by opening early and made sure I was able to help my daughter with her bridal gown in NYC. I received so many compliments on my dress and I was very comfortable in it the whole day. Needless to say I nightly recommend Elizabeth Johns for fine dresses and perfect tailoring.
Went to Elizabeth Johns and worked with Christine and Sarah. What a magnificent store! Not only did we have lovely service, but we bought an incredible wedding gown and a MOG dress. Thanks to everyone for making it an exceptional experience!!!
I went for my dress fitting at Elizabeth John’s the beginning of February 2021. My wedding was 4/1/22. I had a wonderful experience working with Dina (she’s amazing) and I ordered a custom designed Kiera Elise Dress. Fast forward to January (4 months before the wedding when the dress should have been ready) and it was not ready. I was totally understandable when they said it was due to COVID issues, but this dress was also ordered almost a year ago!! I called in January and asked if I could make my fitting and alteration appointments, but they said when they call about the dress being ready, we could make the first appointment. I call in February and the dress is STILL not ready and wouldn’t be until the first week in March. I had my first fitting March 10th and when I tried it on, the lining inside the dress was too tight so they needed to fix that before hemming it. The most frustrating part was that they only do alterations Wed, Thurs, and Friday and they were totally booked for the times I could make it - which were after work. I was appreciative that they let me come in on a day when they usually don’t do fittings, however, slightly annoyed that it was like pulling teeth to receive this accommodation for my next two fittings I needed to have. The WORST part of this whole experience was the quality of the alterations I received. The seamstress was super sweet, however, I only had one hook to bustle my train, which was VERY heavy. The train DID NOT stay up and the bustle broke. This was the most aggravating part of my wedding. I was tripped over my dress while trying to enjoy myself on the dance floor. I did not pay $695 for such a poor alteration. I was very displeased for EJ for these main reasons.
I cannot recommend Elizabeth Johns enough. I purchased my wedding dress here with the help of Christiane. Christiane is a pleasure to work with. She is very knowledgable and also very personable. Rina did my alterations and she is very sweet and does great work. My husband, family and guests are still in awe of my dress. Thank you, EJ!
We had such a wonderful experience at Elizabeth Johns. They had such a wide variety of beautiful gowns, we did not need to go anywhere else! Melinda and the staff made everything from buying the dress, to alterations, to picking it up so smooth. Elizabeth Johns is the only place to go for your special day!
I had such a lovely experience here picking out my wedding dress. My bridal consultant reached out to me beforehand to get an idea of my style to make the consultation easier and she knew that I had gone to several bridal salons before. This was one of the only stores that made me feel like a bride and that it was my day. The selection was huge and they actually listened to my budget. Because I was getting married in Philadelphia, Elizabeth Johns was able to ship my dress to the Ardmore location so that I could do all of my alterations there. I cannot recommend this store enough and am so happy with my wedding dress!
Elizabeth John’s in Morristown, NJ was the only bridal salon that I visited to find my dream dress for my October wedding! Patti, the bridal stylist, was amazing and picked out all the accessories that matched perfectly to my dress and the essence I was going for. Her attention to detail was beyond my expectations. Viola was my seamstress and she was perfect with how she made me feel secure and beautiful in my dress. I recommend this salon to any bride to find their dream dress.

When I was looking for a place to try on gowns back in 2019, Elizabeth Johns was just the right location. But after my first appointment with Dina, I knew that I was going to find my dress at EJ! It took another couple of appointments, but I knew when I found "the one" - of course, it was the first dress that Dina had picked out during our first appointment. She just knew it would be perfect! I am a size 12 on average in regular clothes, so was thrilled when they had a number of gowns in sample sizes that would actually fit me. That being said, if you are a bride around my size or larger, they recommend you call ahead of your appointment by a couple of weeks to ensure they have enough selection in your size. As a note, I did this for two of my bridesmaids as well, and they both LOVED their dresses and entire experience!!
Although Dina left before I actually picked up my gown (unrelated reason), I had a great experience with Maria, the seamstress at EJ. While the alterations were on the more expensive side, she did an amazing job fitting and hemming my train on a full ball gown, even after I had lost weight over the 1.5 years since I purchased my gown! Even with supply issues with COVID, they remained in touch directly to give me regular updates on when my gown would arrive, and everything went off without a hitch.
My only note here would be that my bustle ties tore right after the first dance (I think the train was too heavy for the loops), but obviously 5 stars here shows how unbelievably happy I felt in the dress and how wonderful the staff at EJ made me feel each time I came in.
Elizabeth Johns was the first and only salon I visited to pick out a wedding dress; their dress selection was large but not overwhelming (a plus, when making a lot of decisions!). Special shoutout to Patti who helped us navigate the dress and veil shopping process. After selecting a beautiful gown, I met Maria for a series of alterations to make sure my dress fit perfectly on my wedding day. Last but not least they also had a wonderful selection for my flower girls! They too, ended up with dresses that made them feel beautiful. The front desk staff are poised, polite, and genuinely interested in clientele, and I would highly recommend them to any bride in the area searching for a gown.
I do not have enough great things to say about this shop. Patti was so helpful and made the dress shopping experience so easy. This was my ninth shop and I can by far say I was the most comfortable at Elizabeth Johns.
purchased my bridesmaids dress from Elizabeth Johns via email back in November. I was told based on my height that I would need extra length (I’m 5’9”). Keep in mind, I’ve been in 5 weddings and have never needed extra length mostly because I don’t wear heels. I mentioned this back in Nov to Kelly and Rachel who I had exchanged emails with that I didn’t think extra length was necessary especially because I don’t wear heels. I have an email saying this. It’s also an additional $25 on a $275 dress. I reluctantly said OK after I was persuaded by both Kelly and Rachel to purchase the additional length. Flash forward to present day (March) and I go to pick it up and try on my dress at my home. As I had initially thought, it’s 6 inches too long!! I immediately called Elizabeth John’s and they told me there was nothing they could do and that I could bring the dress back in for $150 alteration. I sent Kelly and Rachel an email and Rachel called and left me a VM. I called her the next day and explained to her the issue. She told me the owner would be calling me. I still have not heard from her and based on some of these reviews, I don’t think I will be! Do NOT buy your dresses from here. Horrible customer service and trying to squeeze every last dime out of you. EJ staff - I’m getting married in July of next year and was considering your shop for my dress and bridesmaids dresses. I will be taking my business elsewhere that’s for sure. David’s Bridal had better customer service than this place.
I purchased my dress and a veil, over a year ago, with the intent to get married in May 2020. Unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and we have now had to postpone the wedding two more times. Elizabeth Johns informed me this fall they can no longer hold onto the dress or veil, it will have to be held by me until I bring it back for alterations when the time comes.
My now husband and I decided to tie the knot in a small ceremony in August, and we plan to hold the bigger, original "wedding" when permitted. I will wear my original dress purchased at Elizabeth Johns for that event.
My now mother-in-law, who is near and dear to my heart, passed away one week ago from complications after open heart surgery. She was too ill to attend the small ceremony in which we got married in August, and will now never be able to see us walk down the aisle.
I understand Covid-19 been a trying time for the entire world and affected each and every person, including many businesses. I'm sure a lot of business has been lost or halted. But I am utterly appalled Elizabeth Johns refused to allow me to return my veil, when I explained to them how my mother-in-law just passed away, and it's very important to me and my husband that I wear her veil from her wedding 46 years ago.
The responses I received were "well luckily your style veil is very popular, so you can probably sell it" and "unfortunately, we have a very strict no return policy". But to call this an extenuating circumstance would be an understatement. Policies have been tweaked and flexed before, and any store owner or manager has the capability to do so.
It is frightening to see such lack of empathy or moral character. To say I am hurt can not even begin to describe. I have dedicated my career as a nurse at one of the largest hospitals in Chicago, on the front lines, caring for covid patients practically every single day. And I do it because I'm a human and I care. I expected to see that level of care reciprocated when I provided Elizabeth Johns with this heartfelt explanation as to why I would like to return the veil and wear my mother-in-laws. Yet I was simply overlooked and dismissed, no ifs ands or buts.
My experience at EJ's was great. Patti is amazing and goes over the top for brides she works with. I also worked with Rina for alterations and can't say enough nice things about her. She was super accommodating and made my gown beautiful.
I cannot believe the incredibly rude encounter I just had with Melinda, the owner of this salon. In December, I ordered a very pricey ($450) flower girl dress for my daughter, which arrived in March for a May wedding. We went in for my daughter's fitting on March 11th and paid $100 up front for alterations.
A few days later the world shut down for coronavirus and my brother decided to postpone his wedding until August, so I called EJ to try and stop the alterations on the dress. The woman on the phone assured me the dress had not yet been touched and she would put a note on it to hold off until our next fitting in July.
Unfortunately, in June, my brother's wedding was officially canceled. I called EJ and asked if the dress could be returned since the alterations had not been done. They explained the strict no return policy, which I accepted.
I finally had some time to pick up the dress. When I went in, I explained to the women at the desk that I understand there are no refunds on the dress, but asked if it would be possible to refund the alteration fee of $100 since the work hadn't been done.
When the woman brought the dress upstairs for me, she apologized and let me know that the alterations had, in fact, already been done. I explained that I had called a week after our appointment in March and was told they were not yet done and was assured that they would hold off. Once again, I calmly explained my situation, so the women up front called the owner, Melinda, to come upstairs. This is where the experience turned sour.
Melinda came up and said, with obvious intent to argue, "I understand you have an issue." I explained the situation and Melinda rudely responded, "Well, the work's been done so what do you want me to do about it?" Again, I let her know that I had called and was told the work had not been done and had asked to stop it. Melinda asked who I spoke to and I wasn't sure of her name. So she condescended to me, saying, "So, you don't know who you spoke to? It couldn't have been that important if you didn't get a name. I would've asked for a name and a confirmation email if something was important to me." I was taken aback and said, "I'm sorry. I'm not lying to you about this. I just trusted your people to actually do their job. I'm not sure why this is such an issue. I am not arguing about not being able to return the dress. But now I'm stuck with a $450 dress with a $100 alteration fee that my daughter isn't even going to wear." She looked at me coldly and responded, "So? I have women who have spent thousands of dollars in here and I can't help them either." I stayed calm and said, "As the owner of a business myself, I know everyone is losing money right now. Things are tough. But this is not the way to keep customers. I think you should be working with me on an acceptable resolution." She said, "I'm not going to engage in this anymore. We will give you back the $100." I thanked her and she started to go back downstairs, then turned back and said, "What business do you own?" I then told her the name. She asked me to repeat it and then snidely remarked, "Ok, I'll remember that...because I'm going to go write it down."
Well, Melinda, I hope you enjoy this review. I'm going to be sure to write it down in as many places as possible, in the hopes that others will be forewarned of the rude and nasty owner they will deal with if they have any issues at all with their experience at your salon.
My daughter shopped at four other bridal salons before being recommended to go to Elizabeth Johns- it was the best recommendation! She found her gorgeous gown after looking through the collection and getting expert assistance from her consultant Dina, who put everything together beautifully. My MOB dress was also from EJ and it was perfect; in fact, I have never had so many compliments about a dress I was wearing. Our seamstress Rina did a beautiful job on both of our gowns. And all the bridesmaids’ gowns were gotten at EJ too. Thank you to everyone at Elizabeth Johns for helping to make my daughter’s day so special!
Although I didn't get my dress here, I had such a wonderful experience with my consultant Patti! She listened to what I wanted and pulled gorgeous gowns for me to try on. She was never pushy and respected my budget during my appointment. The salon has a beautiful collection of gowns as well with a wide range of prices that could fit any budget!
I visited 4 bridal salons, probably tried on close to 40 dresses and ended up choosing the very first dress I tried on at the very first bridal salon! Dina was so helpful, she listened to what I wanted and only showed us pieces that were within our budget. I'm glad I went with Elizabeth Johns, all of the women that work there are friendly and knowledgeable. Maria did my alterations and she was so patient with me and did a great job.
Amazing customer service all around
Dina made my experience shopping for my wedding dress the most memorable experience ever. She was attentive to detail and knew exactly what I wanted. She gave great advice and made the experience so much fun that I was able to pick a dress within a day! She even came up on a day off just to help me sell it if I picking my dress! I highly recommend this boutique to any bride looking for that special dress. Dina as well as the other stylists go above and beyond!
Pattie was amazing and helped me find my dream dress! Maria altered my dress to perfection
Patti at EJ is fantastic! She listened to my likes and dislikes with each dress. She is so good at her job that I ended up picking the first dress she encouraged me to try on even though I was too nervous to buy it the first day. She is always available via text with a quick question or to set up an appointment. Isabel did an amazing job with alterations. She is an absolute perfectionist and even made a last minute adjustment as I was picking up my dress. The dress fit perfectly and turned out exactly how I wanted it thanks to these two ladies!
I LOVED my experience with Elizabeth John. I had been to close to 10 other bridal salons looking for my dress. We walked in on a Thursday afternoon because we were looking for bridesmaids dresses (I thought I might have already found my dress) but when I walked in I wanted to see what they might have. The showroom is stunning and Haley was so nice and helpful. She knew exactly the right questions to ask to help me sort through where I was in deciding on a dress. I didn't want to make a decision on the spot so I called to order the dress a day later. The whole process was so easy and fun! Thank you EJ!!
I can't even begin to explain how apprehensive I was about shopping for my wedding dress. There is this levity to picking THE dress, that was just very overwhelming for me. However, Patti at Elizabeth Johns completely put me at ease and made me feel celebrated (it was my birthday too). Simply put, she was amazing. Patti eased me into the dress shopping process and in fact picked THE dress! I went in the complete opposite direction that I thought I would and Patti listened every step of the way to what I was liking and what I was not liking. She then pulled the perfect dress. Even still, I was fighting to saying yes, because how can you say yes at the very first place you go shopping?! But I knew it was the one and Patti knew too. She put the veil on me, helped me really envision the dress, and even stayed with me to finalize everything. Overall, it was a great experience and I am looking forward to the rest of the steps in this process!
My experience at Elizabeth John's was the best it could be in my search for a bridal gown! My consultant, Patti was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in the process of finding my dress. She was great in helping me really decide what I want and ultimately helped me find the perfect dress. The entire store is beautiful with amazing lighting and the dress selection is great even for a lower budget. My entourage loved the entire experience as well which was super important to me. 100% recommend!
My day at Elizabeth Johns was truly amazing. As someone who’s both tall and wears a size larger than the typical “sample size”, I was quite nervous going into my appointment. However, Renee immediately made me feel comfortable and assured me that sizing wasn’t an issue. I’m proud to say I had “first day luck” and walked out of Elizabeth Johns with a dress so beautiful, I couldn’t have even dreamed of it before my appointment. I can’t wait to go back and pick out dresses for my bridesmaids!
Elizabeth Johns has wonderful customer service. I really enjoyed working with Patti and Deborah. I found the most beautiful Pronovias gown for my wedding day. It was perfect and fit like a glove!!! I received so many compliments, and it photographed so well. Its a beautiful experience shopping in the Elizabeth Johns shop. I highly recommend them!!!
The WORST Retail Experience/Customer Service EVER!
As a first time bride, I gave this place a chance without any preconceptions and they disappointed EVERY SINGLE STEP of the way. People make mistakes and okay the lining was not right but what really irks me is the NON-CHALANT, DISMISSIVE, POMPOUS ATTITUDE. There was no accountability whatsoever for anything, except from Tiffany who was apologetic regarding the additional charge. They did NOT at all try to compensate for the mistakes made or the horrible communication. Their customer service is the WORST I've ever seen where the customer is always WRONG in their eyes. PLEASE…I ignored the other bad reviews on here who had similar experiences…PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY and ENERGY on this place. The dress is the next most important thing next to the groom and they made this such a painful experience for me. I will add the name of the seamstress that I am using now in which she charges $150 for hem, $10 for cups in the bust and $20 for strap shortening. Her experience is working at David's Bridal and when explaining to her the charge she even stated that it was absurd. As you can see…her charge, and she is a professional, will be NOWHERE NEAR $675 plus the $250 they wanted to charge for a full cut. BEAUTIFUL DRESSES, DISGUSTING ATTITUDES.

Poor communication between management and employee, employees and customers, and extremely unsatisfactory customer service. Hidden costs. Details not explained. I would look elsewhere if you’re interested in a seamless, stress free experience.
This was the first location I went shopping for wedding dresses and the day was everything it should be! My bridal consultant was amazing listened to what I wanted and than some. She picked the gown the i absolutely fell in love with and was the gown I chose for my special day. Counting down the days till I get to wear my beautiful dress
I knew I would be going to Elizabeth John’s after going there for my sister’s bridal experience. It’s just the absolute best. My consultant was Patty and she was patient, attentive and just wonderful to work with. I never felt rushed and I found my gorgeous dress that I can’t wait to wear!! Thank you Patty and EJ for such an amazing experience!!
Just purchased my dream wedding dress from Elizabeth Johns! Had a wonderful experience with Carmella, our consultant, with my mother and my sister by my side.
As I tried on 8 dresses, we had input from other consultants, who worked with the designers to see what alterations were possible, if needed.
Everyone made me feel comfortable and beautiful - I selected my dress in my first appointment!
It was very easy, and they did a lot of prep communication in making sure we were looking at dresses in my budget and style. Would definitely recommend to any bride!
I just got my dress from Elizabeth Johns and am ecstatic! It is beautiful, and the experience of selecting the dress was completely stress-free. Patty was lovely and figured out my style quickly, and eventually brought me a dress a might not have picked out on my own but knew as soon as I put it on that it was "the one." I've looked at a couple of places and feel that the quality of dresses here was a level above (and competitively priced). Wonderful experience!
As soon as we walked into Elizabeth Johns, I knew that it would be a special experience. We were immediately welcomed, and even noticed that they had personalized a welcome sign with my name next to complimentary treats. Our bridal consultant Dina warmly introduced herself right away, and while she finished her last appointment we were able to browse the entire store to start gathering ideas. Every single dress was more beautiful than the last. Once we sat down, Dina really took the time to get to know me and what my style was. You could tell right away that she was polished and knew exactly what she was doing. She gathered a few gowns to try on, including some that we had selected and others that she thought would be a good fit. After trying on a few, she listened to my feedback and made additional selections to fit my criteria— she was patient, thoughtful and also has a great eye. After narrowing down the selections, I actually found “THE ONE”! I was hoping to get that special excited feeling, but had been feeling discouraged after visiting several other bridal shops. This experience changed everything. After saying “yes to the dress”, Dina brought out celebratory champagne and we toasted the exciting news. I truly felt so special. After finalizing the dress details (I was able to customize as I wanted), Dina also helped me pick out the perfect accessories to finish the look, including custom earrings. As icing on the cake, I mentioned the bridesmaid color and material that I was interested in, and within minutes the bridesmaid specialist Madison had come down with a few samples that matched my description perfectly. We can’t wait to go back for bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses. We cannot say enough good things about our overall experience at Elizabeth Johns— it is everything that wedding dress shopping should be: personal, fun, professional, exciting, and more. I am thrilled to be a part of the EJ family!
I went with my mom and sister here to a sample sale on a whim not expecting to find anything, but ended up taking home a beautiful dress and veil. I worked with Deborah and she made everything so much fun. The rest of the staff was wonderful as well.
I did take my dress elsewhere to get altered when the time came. EJ cancelled my original alteration time (3 months in advance) and gave me a timeline that was too close to my wedding date. This was a little bit frustrating.
I truly had the ultimate bridal experience at Elizabeth Johns in Ardmore working with Katherine. The day before my appointment, she sent me a personal email gathering some information about me, the big day, and what styles I was interested in. At my appointment, she guided me through the racks and helped me select several dresses I loved within my budget. Katherine was so excellent to work with. She was funny, personable, and knowledgeable and made my experience very enjoyable. I loved the first dress I tried on, however, my family members I had with me did not love this dress as much as another dress. I ended up saying yes to the second dress that everyone in my party (including myself) loved, however, later that evening I started to second guess myself. I knew in my gut I loved that first dress I tried on! Completely panicked, I emailed Katherine the next morning explaining I was in a puddle of tears over my choice, and wanted to try on the first dress again. She immediately called me and comforted me, ensuring me it was okay, and I could come in that morning and try on both dresses again. I was so relieved and grateful. I went back into the store that morning, and Lacey was available to work with me while I tried on the first dress that I had loved. I knew then and there that that dress was THE ONE! I feel so much better and am SO happy with my decision! Elizabeth Johns truly went above and beyond. They were so accommodating and helpful throughout this experience. I couldn’t be happier with my experience there and would highly recommend Elizabeth Johns to all future brides! You will have the royal treatment working with excellent bridal consultants and find the dress of your dreams!
I had the best bridal experience at Elizabeth Johns. I got my dress, my bridesmaids dresses, my bridal shower outfit, and got my veil dyed here! All of the experiences I had were great! It was the first place I went looking for dresses. Dina was my consultant and she was THE BEST! She had called me ahead of time to ask me questions to get a clear vision of what I wanted. When I arrived, she had already pulled some dresses that she thought I would like. THE dress was one of the dresses she pulled :) They made me feel so special there and I had the best experience. Rina did a great job with alterations and my dress fit perfectly :) Because my experience with my dress was so amazing, I also got my bridesmaids dresses through them. Liz and Tiffany were very patient while I tried to decide what I wanted and went above and beyond while helping my bridesmaids AND helping me with my bridal shower outfit. Isabel did a great job altering my jumpsuit for my bridal shower. I would definitely go here for all of your bridal needs!
I went to Elizabeth Johns for my first (and last!) time wedding dress shopping - and thanks to their amazing staff, I was able to find my perfect dress. I really didn't know what to look for/what kind of dress I preferred, but prior to my appointment, they asked that I provide some dress styles I liked. From there, the consultant was able to guide me and find not only dress styles that I liked, but a few that I hadn't even considered. She was so patient as I tried everything on and was so helpful in offering her opinions on styling, etc. Ultimately, I ended up picking a dress in a style I hadn't even considered but it was perfect! From there, Rina did an excellent job fitting the dress for me & was just such a pleasure to work with! I cannot recommend Elizabeth Johns enough - all of their staff are so courteous, they have such an excellent selection, and are so helpful in making sure that you have the perfect, dream dress for your special day!
Elizabeth Johns is the most adorable bridal salon! It has such an open/amazing atmosphere and has an awesome selection of dresses/designers. Haley was my consultant and would highly recommend her. She was so patient, knowledgeable and actually listened to what I wanted in a dress. A big thank you to Elizabeth Johns and Haley on helping me find my perfect wedding dress! :)
I first visited Elizabeth Johns when my Maid of Honor was getting married a few years ago. I loved the environment so much that I knew it would be one of the places I would go to when it was my turn to walk down the aisle.
It’s light, bright and makes you feel like a bride even before trying on any dresses!
I didn’t find anything that I loved at my first appointment at Elizabeth Johns but Deborah, my consultant, called a few days later to let me know of an upcoming trunk show that she thought I would love and she was SO spot on! Deborah was amazing at understanding my style and helping me narrow down my choices to end up with a dress that was absolutely perfect for me. I also looked forward to seeing Deborah at my fittings - she was genuinely excited to be part of the process.
The dress also fit like a glove and alterations that I was hoping to make exceeded all of my expectations! It was a bit nerve wrecking to say yes to a dress that was so large on me when I first tried it on but with every fitting that I had, I felt reassured that it was going to be perfect - and it was. I couldn’t have felt more comfortable and confident wearing my dress.
Thank you Deborah and Elizabeth Johns! I look forward to bringing back every bride that I know!
I do not write reviews very often, but EJ's was awesome.
It was my daughter and my first shop we went to, Deborah was our stylist. She called me on her day off to ask questions about the bride and her style. I was somewhat concerned because my daughter really didn't know what she was looking for other than she wanted a very simple dress. Deborah listen to her and brought out a variety of dresses. She made the experience enjoyable and we left feeling very confident about our choice. She truly went above and beyond and we couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this bridal shop, I can't thank you enough.
I had/am having an incredible experience with Elizabeth Johns. I was truly the bride that had "no idea" what I wanted in a bridal dress. In swooped Dina, who was honest, super knowledgeable, patient and picked a variety of dresses until we narrowed down to the types of dresses that I was gravitating towards. Even though I did not find my dress during the first appointment, I had such a positive experience and knew we were getting close an scheduled a second appointment, before which Dina emailed and called me to further discuss options that might work for me. During the second appointment, we found THE dress, and I could not be happier! I am now going through alterations with EJ and have also purchased an over skirt and accessories with EJ. All around, I love this salon and knew I wanted to buy my dress there - the atmosphere is the furthest thing from stuffy, you truly feel like you're just in a beautiful home trying on gorgeous gowns. Also, my mom found her dress for the reception here as well, and had the same experience - we love Elizabeth Johns and I recommend to all my engaged friends!
My first dress shopping experience began at Elizabeth James. Deborah was my consultant and I would 100% recommend her to any bride looking for an intimate experience that's also directional & educational. Deborah really cares about her brides and takes the time to learn about them. I absolutely loved the entire experience. From the moment I walked into the door, I felt very welcomed and part of the EJ family. It was an amazing day.
My sister-in-law booked in an appointment for myself, mother-in-law and herself and we had a wonderful experience with our stylist Carmella. As one of the first Bridal stores I visited, we tried on several different styles and I gained a really good understanding on the style of Dress I may like.
My mother and I had a wonderful experience at Elizabeth Johns. Carmella was extremely helpful and made it an enjoyable process!
They have so many great dress selections and all the dresses were current with the trends right now. They carry a lot of great designers. The bridal consultant was easy to work with and knowledgable. The shop is clean and spacious. They also give you a bottle of champagne to celebrate when you 'say yes to the dress'!
I can’t say enough good things about my experience trying on dresses (and purchasing one!) at Elizabeth Johns. When I arrived at my appointment, I was immediately greeted by the consultant who would be helping me, Deborah. I had never tried on wedding dresses before, and explained to Deborah that I was a bit nervous about and intimidated by the process. Deborah gave me as much time as I wanted to look through each and every dress in the store to select ones to try on, and she could not have been more patient, helpful, kind or supportive throughout the appointment. She genuinely listened to the things I liked and disliked, and she was so helpful with suggestions of designers or styles she thought I might gravitate towards after seeing the dresses I selected myself. She is unfailingly sweet, and her desire to help me find “the” dress, and not just any dress, really shone through throughout the appointment. I am so thankful to have had her be the person in the dressing room with me on that day. Luckily, she did not have another appointment immediately after mine, so we were able to stay in the salon well past the allotted appointment time as I was torn between two dresses. When Deborah saw my indecision but knew which dress I was leaning towards, she truly went above and beyond with Kiera, the salon manager, to make my vision a reality, even contacting the rep for the designer directly to see if all of my requests could be made. Kiera also came over when I finally said “yes” and made me feel so special and beautiful in my dress, and she was so helpful and kind in coordinating with the designer. I was even able to stay in my dress for a lovely champagne toast and never felt rushed or pushed to leave. Again, I can’t say enough good things about Elizabeth Johns (especially Deborah), and I am grateful that my first (and last) appointment were made there.
Elizabeth Johns is a great bridal salon with a large selection of dresses. Carmella was great in helping me out, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend the store to family and friends.
Elizabeth Johns was the first store that I went to look for my wedding and it was a great experience. Dina was great helping me pick the dress of my dreams and even stayed after closing the store so I could retry the dresses and take pictures to compare.
I unfortunately had a very poor experience w/ Elizabeth Johns in Morristown.
I found Elizabeth Johns, & they had a lot of the designers/styles that I was interested in. I found a beautiful Blue Willow by Anne Barge dress that I fell in love w/ & was so happy to purchase from them. They informed me of the cost (~$2500), & the alteration amount (~ $500). Upon selecting the dress, I told them that I was interested in making 2 changes to the dress - 1 to the waistline & 1 to the neckline.
First issue - they never called me when my dress arrived. Claimed to have wrong # on file, which is understandable and human error, but I know they had correct email because I was getting appointment reminders, marketing emails and survey requests - email me to remind me my dress is in, or ask why I haven't called back to the messages you claim you left...
Second issue - pricing change for alterations package. Was $500 when I purchased $2500 dress, but by the time of my first fitting, went up to $675 - wouldn't grandfather me in to the original pricing from when I purchased the dress...
Third issue- It took me 4 fittings (when it's supposed to be complete in 3), and $250 - special bustle price, to get my dress actually complete. Along this process, they forgot about my dress (seamstress went on vaca between fitting 2 and fitting 3 and never altered my dress or completed the hem/bustle, and no one else knew about it). And then on fitting # 3 which is supposed to be final, my neckline was very visibly crooked and it took three tries and lots of arguments with the seamstress for it to be fixed (even her packaging the dress up for me to leave, without letting me see it to approve it or try it on one more time!). This was all the day before I was supposed to leave for my out of state wedding... (What was supposed to be final fitting on 10/04 when we realized they forgot about the dress, turned in to them not finishing the dress until 10/09 because they don't work Sat thru Mon. I get that they have specific hours, but when you see this amount of issue/problems, and the short time frame, bring someone in on Over Time to get the work complete / not stress out the bride!!!)
Throughout this process, the owner happened to be there. She discussed the bustle/hem mishap with me, and agreed to refund the $250 I paid for the special bustle. While I appreciated that, I was completely frustrated and upset with what I had gone through and the amount of stress that was caused the day before I had to leave for my wedding, and the amount of time and fittings I endured, after the amount of money that I spent. I specifically went to (what I thought) was a reputable bridal shop, opposed to a corporate national chain, because I thought I was going to receive unbridled, custom, wonderful service. Unfortunately, that was not at all the case. I was immensely disappointed with my service and would not recommend them to any future brides.
I had an incredible experience at Elizabeth Johns. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by their welcoming staff, and shown right into their showroom. My consultant was Dina, and she was such a pleasure to work with. She was so incredibly kind and patient, and asked me all the questions necessary to narrow down my dream dress. She pulled a handful of beautiful gowns for me, and also encouraged me to pull some that caught by eye as well. She really understood my vision, listened to my questions, concerns and ideas about my overall look, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. She was able to turn this overwhelming process into an incredibly enjoyable one. I will highly recommend Elizabeth Johns and Dina to all future brides!
