For our summer wedding, we envisioned an intimate, forested event in the Hudson Valley. The ElmRock Inn was a perfect fit. The afternoon ceremony itself in the cedar arbor was absolutely beautiful as the sun streamed through the forest behind us. Our guests raved about Chef Mark’s food, which was truly delicious, creative, and used several farm-to-table ingredients. Our event planners were exceptionally attentive, supportive, kind, and organized. It was a joy that all of our 12 guests could stay at the inn, which made the 3-day event warm and intimate with family constantly around us. We couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque wedding. Thank you.
I got married at the Elmrock Inn Bed & Breakfast on September 23, 2023.
Elmrock Inn was the perfect choice for us to celebrate our intimate nuptials in front of our closest family and friends of 46. 😊
I don’t even know where to begin with my praise for Elmrock and the staff.
Kimberly was so prompt and patient in answering all my questions. When it came time to get down to the details of menu coices, drinks, seating, etc. everything was done so efficiently and seamlessly.
Chief Mark did an amazing job in developing a delicious menu for all our guests. I may be a little biased but it was hands down the best wedding food I have ever had.
It rained on our day, which at first (as I’m sure with many brides) was a huge bummer. I had spent the last 9 months not even really considering that rain may be something that would happen, I guess you can say I was in denial. But OMG they did such an amazing job in making it work. In fact, among so many other things, our guests raved about the ceremony space on the patio and how intimate and beautiful it all was. I must give a huge shout out to Katelyn for making everything work, from coordinating with our vendors, to always having a smile on her face. I even saw her taking out the trash herself at some point, she was such a pleasure!
My only two complaints are that we did not have a choice in our hors d'oeuvres and as it turns out I didn’t even try any of the three that were given (what can I say, I’m a picky eater). And the night before our wedding, around 1 AM I was finally like “Yes, I’m going to relax and take a bath.” Well, there was no water pressure and after checking with our other guests staying over, they had the same issue. Thank God, the day of our wedding it was somehow fixed and there was no issue but I’m still unsure of what the problem was to begin with.
We are two of the most disorganized people you will ever meet. But the wonderful staff at the ElmRock Inn, including the planners, made sure everything was perfect for our wedding day. And honestly, you could not ask for a better venue: relaxing, charming and unique.
Our friends still haven't stopped talking about the outdoor dance floor, the cornhole set up in the grass or the fire pit (complete with everything needed for making s'mores.)
I cannot wait to go back as a regular guest and enjoy everything they have to offer.
ElmRock Inn was a beautiful venue and wonderful backdrop for a magical and intimate wedding. If you love being surrounded by nature and appreciate historic venues, this is definitely one to see. The staff was kind, accommodating, and supportive. The food was really lovely and delicious. The cocktail was also special and unique. I appreciated the ingredients from local farms too. Overall such a special and memorable day and weekend!
I recently had my wedding at Elmrock Inn, and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. From start to finish, the staff and service were absolutely fantastic. Kimberly, Michaele and the entire team were incredibly attentive and helpful, making sure that everything ran smoothly and that all of our needs were met. They took care of all the details, so my partner and I didn't have to worry about a thing.
But the real standout of the event was the food. The chef is an absolute genius in the kitchen, and every dish was a true work of art. We received so many compliments from our guests about how delicious everything was, and I couldn't agree more. The food is truly something special and unlike anything you can find anywhere else.
Overall, I would highly recommend Elmrock Inn for anyone looking for a beautiful venue with exceptional food and service. They truly made our special day unforgettable, and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to celebrate there. Thank you to the entire team for making our wedding such a wonderful experience!
Kimberly and her team were incredible. The venue is gorgeous, the food was delicious, and it was such a treat to be there. We held our wedding ceremony there and had a cocktail reception onsite afterwards. It was the perfect spot for our ceremony, and would have been a delight for a full weekend event as well. We have family in the area so were not in need of rooms, but the rooms were beautifully done and the whole atmosphere at the Inn is something special. Excellent communication and wonderful energy all around. The Chef was accommodating to our dietary restrictions and allergies as well (no nuts, a vegan guest, and a guest with a seafood allergy)! Can't wait to return one day!
Our event was very well managed, the food was amazing, - beyond expectations, landscaping was beautiful, everything went off without a hitch.
The Elmrock Inn is a charming and meticulously well-kept family establishment that makes dreams come true!
With the help of the magnificent co-owner Kim, I was able to plan the elopement of my dreams in a matter of just a few days before Labor Day Weekend! My then fiancé and I were looking to elope for LDW the year of COVID and, luckily, the Elmrock Inn opened up vacancies a few days before we planned to travel! Kim was very friendly and a total pro at letting us know exactly what we needed for a 12-person wedding. She helped us find the best local florist, beautician, and photographer, and she even created an itinerary of what we can do with our friends during the long weekend. Kim also curated our menu for the wedding dinner, which her husband, a Hudson Valley top chef of 20 years, prepared! We savored every bite of all the decadent gourmet wedding dinner that Chef Mark prepared for us. And the three mornings we spent in the Inn, the breakfasts did not disappoint – all were mouth watering.
On the evening of the wedding, there was a staff of people helping our friends/guests travel from ceremony in the expansive backyard to the rustic dinner table in their dining room to the bonfire outdoors, which was already set up for us. Kim, Mark and the staff made sure that ever need of ours was taken care of. Everyone was very professional, friendly and practice safety during COVID. It was a magical time in the midst of so much uncertainty everywhere else. We cannot thank Kim, Mark and their staff enough for making our day extremely special and unforgettable!!
I was literally in conversations with Kimberly for my wedding date - 9.19.20. I was ready to move forward once the proposal we received was revised, to send the deposit — everything. Before I knew it, without any notice at all, Kimberly emailed me that our date was taken and did I have any flexibility. What?? Weren’t we JUST talking through amending the proposal a couple hours ago?? I had NO clue that our date would just be given away as she knew I was ready to move forward. Not sure what type of service this is but would not recommend.
The ElmRock Inn and its owners Kim and Mark were the BEST twist in the rollercoaster of twists and turns we’d had over the past few months. Covid dismantled our original wedding plans, as well as a few attempts to plan something new and appropriately sized for the new conditions.
The Inn is stunning. It is a lovely place to stay and get ready and provides so many wonderful places for fantastic photos. It would have been perfect for our rooms and reception in normal times, but what made it especially spectacular was that they pulled everything together for us with barely a week’s notice and the world still in unsteady chaos! You would never know it hadn’t been planned for months, they are clearly professionals who know what they are doing and can make up for shortcomings in trying conditions.
The food was absolutely incredible. We took a bit of a plunge with our short notice, but there were no sacrifices. Our intimate reception pleased the pickiest of our family and everyone has been raving about everything - especially the food - since. We ended up having the best possible version of our wedding and it would not have been possible without ElmRock. The people make the place and we cannot say enough about everyone at ElmRock. The positivity, adaptability, helpful attitudes, and general nice, kind demeanors that met us every step along the (rushed) way were calming and wonderful. We could not have asked for better.
I was a bit nervous to have an outdoor wedding, but it was perfectly executed at ElmRock Inn. Between the incredible food, helpful day-of coordination, and attentive staff throughout the entire process, I highly recommend this venue for your wedding or large event. My friends and family still rave about the wedding. It's a great diversion from typical weddings at a hotel or country club and allows for your own flair to be seen. I cannot recommend elmrock inn more highly!!!
We chose Elm Rock Inn and Harvest Real Food Catering for our wedding this past fall and could not have been happier. Kimberly, Amy and Mark were incredible to work with. They were professional, courteous and patient. They helped us design a perfect an elegant outdoor venue with a sail cloth tent, farmhouse tables, an outdoor cocktail lounge with vintage furniture and "Rosie" their vintage cocktail trailer.
We had over 100 guests and rented the entire venue for the weekend which included all meals for our guests at the inn. Amy and team orchestrated the entire weekend and our wedding was executed flawlessly. The "Harvest Table" and cocktail hour were amazing and my wife and wanted a sit down dinner and we were worried about the service. Mark delivered over 100 platings on time and the service was outstanding, Mark is a real pro!
I know that everyone believes that the food at their wedding was good, but what mark served during our wedding was as good as we have had at any restaurant in NYC. We offered Filet Mignon, Halibut and Brown Butternut Squash Ravioli. The food was served hot, the portions were spot on and everything was delicious. Kimberly and Mark helped us pick out our wine and premium bar and a signature cocktail. We had an open bar and the flow was great and we were properly served.
We loved our wedding and are grateful for an amazing day. Thank you Elm Rock Inn and Real Food Catering for making it so special.
Amy, Kim, and Chef Mark are the best! From our tasting, to coordinating with rental companies, to their food and service on the big day itself, the whole Harvest team truly was spectacular. Chef Mark and Kim organized an excellent tasting. Amy was so responsive to all of our questions and concerns in the weeks and days leading up to the wedding. The food at the wedding was excellent, and our guests continue to rave about how good it was. We even asked that Harvest serve, for an appetizer, a somewhat unknown kind of French street food to celebrate the bride’s heritage, and they totally nailed it. With Harvest, you’re getting real professionalism and excellent food at the same time.
My husband and I got married at The Elm Rock Inn and it couldn't have been a more perfect day and setting. The staff at the Elm Rock was unbelievably helpful, comforting, attentive and beyond organized. Chef Mark, Harvest created an amazing country style menu for us and compliments flowed through the night about how delcious the food was. Breakfasts for the bride and groom's families at the inn were out of this world delicious. All food is local and fresh. Kim and her staff do everything to make sure your day goes perfectly. Thank you so much to everyone at the inn who made our day forever memorable.
Our wedding at ElmRock was even more beautiful than I had envisioned it! The innkeeper, Debra, made us feel so welcome and comfortable during our stay and the coordinator, Amy, did such a fantastic job going above and beyond to take care of all of the little details that I hadn’t even thought of and making sure the evening went smoothly. Chef Mark of Harvest Real Food Catering and his staff created the most delectable concoctions for dinner, including four different cakes in lieu of a traditional wedding cake and the breakfasts were equally delicious. Five stars for the staff and venue! My only complaint about the entire experience is against the venue owner, Kimberly, who was shockingly unpleasant to work with. From the beginning she was disorganized and handled money issues poorly. She forgot that she had already deposited a check I had sent her and had me filing reports with my bank for a stolen check, she frequently tried to charge me a $2000 site fee that had been waived for booking a year in advance, and instead of sending a reminder that a payment was due, she sent me an e-mail demanding immediate payment the day after Christmas while I was out of town on vacation. She was incredibly slow to respond to my requests for information to begin planning the wedding, averaging about 2 weeks for me to hear back from her on anything, and when I finally did, it was with rental quotes for wedding scenarios that I had not asked for and were far beyond my budget. When I complained to her about her services, she responded with nasty emails that were incredibly rude and unprofessional. I refused to speak to her on the phone after the first unpleasant exchange and hired a wedding planner to deal with her but she insisted on continuing her unprovoked and hostile exchanges with me. I asked her multiple times to put somebody else in charge of my wedding so that I would not have to put up with her abuse, but she refused every time. She even complained about the six hours she had spent on the unasked-for rental quotes when the contract clearly stated that 10 hours of her consultation were included in the package. She finally stopped her harassment and got the rest of the wedding planned with much more reasonable response times, but she still nickel and dimed me to death, charging me three times what the beverages for my pre-wedding bonfire would go for at the store because we were not allowed to bring in our own. The best thing I can say about her is that she avoided me completely during our stay so I did not have to have that stress at least. One more tip: the tap water tasted awful and they charge $2 per bottle of water, so I recommend buying a gallon from the local supermarket instead.
The venue at Elmrock Inn is absolutely gorgeous. From the carriage house to the actual Inn, along with the whole grounds, it feels rustic and homely. The rooms are stunning and timeless, and is something a Hotel venue cannot offer. Also having ownership of the whole property during the wedding allows a celebration to be extremely intimate without having outsiders and strangers watching in on a special and private occasion.
Chef Mark and his entire staff from his sous chef, planner, groundskeepers, and severs were all pleasant to work with and top notch. The food was stellar, from their breakfast, cocktail hour food, reception dinner, and brunch. It actually was some of the best breakfast I have had! Elmrock was very flexible with me while I was deployed in Afghanistan and we got the business part taken care of without a hitch. The only complaints I can dig out is probably the tap water tastes a little hard and our signature cocktail (which was a hit) ran out halfway through the reception. They were very minute cons, and the pros essentially make them nonexistent. We got so many compliments on picking Elmrock as our venue, and I would highly recommend this place to others.
If you're looking for a gorgeous, rustic venue with fantastic food and an attentive staff, then the Elm Rock Inn is for you. This is especially true if you're looking to have a smaller affair, like I did. Their venue is the perfect size, and you'll have the option of having either an indoor wedding or an outdoor wedding.
The inn itself is a gorgeous piece of work from the 1770s that has been lovingly restored, with beautiful guest rooms. My mother (who was out of state and unable to help me with much of the wedding planning) was THRILLED to stay there. She thought it was absolutely perfect. It felt like our families had a gorgeous mountain home all to ourselves.
Mark and his staff were great, and they were INCREDIBLY accommodating. The food tasting that was arranged was fabulous, and Mark was great about providing detailed explanations of what was being served and the different types of service. They were also very flexible when it came to the menu - nothing is "fixed" like at other venues, and you can mix and match as you please from a very wide range of options. They can also handle dietary restrictions - we had vegans, vegetarians, gluten allergies and diabetics among our wedding guests and they were able to ensure that everyone had plenty of options. Two months later, and our guests are STILL talking about the pappardelle and the beef tenderloin!
Their on site coordinator Meaghan was a pleasure to work with and sooo reassuring throughout the process (especially towards the end when I had a bit of a freak out, ha). All of the decorations that I brought were set up exactly as I had envisioned and they even did a few little extra things (lights on the trees outside) that took me by surprise!
Also - I HIGHLY recommend using the fire pit in back lawn. We had a bonfire after dessert and our guests absolutely LOVED it. Many said it was one of their favorite parts of the wedding.
All in all, the Elm Rock Inn was just perfect for me.
Chef Mark & Kim are incredible. From our first tasting visit to the end of the reception, the staff at Harvest was incredible. They worked incredibly hard to deliver a truly remarkable experience for our guests.
If you want a simple "chicken, fish or meat" type of menu, I would look elsewhere. But if you want creative, carefully planned courses that you and your guests will remember, I would highly recommend giving Harvest a call to set up your tasting.
The experience of the tasting is worth the time/trip alone. The Elm Rock Inn is a beautiful setting.
In terms of cost, they were extremely competitive. They also were able to work really well with a somewhat tricky venue. An old friend from my high school selected Harvest for a wedding a few months after and they were equally impressed.
I can't say enough about Chef Mark, Kim and the staff at Harvest. You can shop around and go to tasting after tasting, but I would save yourself some time and call Mark & Kim early in your search. They'll set the bar awfully high.

Elm Rock turned out to really be the perfect venue for us! Along with my husband and I, our bridal party stayed at the venue with us and we had an amazing celebration for 3 days straight! Some of my friends camped, we had a big bonfire after the reception, and just generally had the bet time of our lives! We had more than enough space to have our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and goodbye brunch there, and were able to easily get ready the day of the wedding, and were able to provide something for everyone (dancing, horseshoes, Jenga, bocce, hiking nearby, etc). Elm Rock accommodated all our requests from special food and drinks, distributing gifts to each room for our guests, and allowing us to feel at home. The food was incredible at every single meal, and we never stopped being impressed at the attention to detail and beautiful presentation at each breakfast and dinner. We truly felt like we were at home every time we came to visit and plan, and really through the entire weekend of the wedding! We were so sad to leave, and will definitely be back for future celebrations!
Chef Mark did an outstanding job with the catering of my daughters wedding! All the planning of the event was made so much easier with the help of Kimberly and her crew! They took care of all the rental questions and helped us stay organized throughout every step in the year long process of planning the wedding at Lake Minnewaska. Our guests raved about the delicious unique food. They also prepared food for an after party back at Minnewaska Lodge. We thought everyone would be too full to eat again that night but it was so delicious no one could resist! The pumpkin filled cider which was my son in laws add on was so delicious, the desserts that were prepared were out of this world, great care was taken with special requests as far as allergies so that everyone could enjoy all the food, my husband wants the recipe for the grilled corn on the cob! The best wedding ever! Thanks for everything!
Neither my husband or I are American but we both live in Manhattan - so it was especially difficult finding a place to get married. We wanted to be in the nature, out of Manhattan and to have an event and be able to stay in the same place with our family and friends who travelled from all over the world to be with us.
We randomly stumbled upon ElmRock Inn and after a visit one weekend, we instantly knew we had found the perfect place. Not only was the place so inviting, warm, beautiful and charming but we instantly felt a strong connection to Chef Mark. This part cannot be overlooked, because food is extremely important to us and we were blown away by the tasting that he provided for us. The food was not just 'great' - it was EXCEPTIONAL!!!! And on the wedding day it was amazing AND all the guests could not get over how special it was. He truely is an incredible and talented Chef and it was one of the highlights of my night. But then again, there were so many highlights that I could go on and on and on.. the drinks, the bar tender, the waitstaff.... everyone was on hand to make our night memorable and they went out of their way to do so. I wish Chef Mark and his wife Kimberly the best of luck at ElmRock Inn. I can only sing praises...for my wedding was better than I could have ever imagined!!!
Tammy and Chef Mark are extremely pleasant to work with. Chef Mark is passionate about food. The food at the wedding was delicious, farm fresh and original. I had numerous guests tell me it was the best meal they ever had at any of the countless weddings they had attended. Tammy is extremely energetic and very accommodating. She was always available to meet with me at the offsite venue or to discuss the wedding plans and contingency plans. She was very proactive and would always follow up to make sure I was addressing all the details I needed to address for the wedding (i.e. she helped with the tent rental, and all other rentals, and made sure I was making timely decisions). Her assistance was invaluable. Elmrock is an excellent service provider!
