From the beginning things were not going well. For our 5:00 to 6:00 cocktail and Hors D'Oeuvers hour in the Atrium, it took several requests to get the player piano turned on as per contract. Our sausage and cheese platter was forgotten until w...e hunted down Justin and reminded him. It arrived at 5:40, much smaller than we expected for $190.
Other platters were not refilled with bread dippers until we once again hunted down a server and asked.
Generally poor service was provided to our guests.
Dirty plates littered the Atrium, for lack of service personnel.
At the dinner itself, service was not only poor, but on our side of the hall, nearly non-existant.
Meal service was not only slow, but as the dinner lagged on, it became more and more humiliating and embarassing as time passed.
Service was so slow, Father of the Bride went into the kitchen and offered his services to serve meals, to get them moving.
Children at 2 tables were served meals a full 1/2 hour sooner than thier parents at the same table.
Some tables were being served cake while other tables had yet to be served thier meals.
The conversation at several tables was how "they felt sorry for those people who had not even been served dinner yet".
We had pork tenderloin that was served pink, red and bloody red with blood running into the mashed potatoes, in which case they had them take it back for our chicken dinner.
Brookfield Suites admitted that they always heat up the dinner plates before they serve dinner but not at our wedding, for some reason. Alot of our guests mentioned that there meal was cold.
Needless to say our guests did not get served water, coffee, milk or drinks in a timely manner, do to lack of servers.
The following Monday we had two meetings with Brookfield Suites, told them all of this and they even recorded our conversation and they never returned our calls. When the bride got back from her honeymoon they proceeded to call her along with guests from other tables.
They had tapes from the whole evening to go back and check to see how things went. (Which they would not let the parents view).
We now have called a lawyer, to see what is next.
