We had no regrets with choosing the Embassy Suites! It’s a gorgeous venue with a view of the Ohio River and Cincinnati skyline. Every staff member we worked with was friendly and helpful. The catering manager Julia worked with us from the day we first toured to plan our special day and give us the wedding day of our dreams! The food was fantastic, and we got to meet personally with the head chef to discuss catering and meal service for the day of. We got a great rate for our room block and got spaces for getting ready free of charge. The event manager was great with coordinating all of the details and moving things along behind the scenes. It was all affordable and it was great to be able to talk to just one venue for the ceremony, reception, catering, open bar, and room block all in one! You can’t go wrong with the Embassy Suites!
Overall the staff did a great job with decorating & setting up and were incredibly kind/accommodating throughout the day of the wedding! The uplighting made the dining room beautiful and I loved that we had a completely separate room for the band and dancing. All of the guests loved the view and the cocktail tables outside were a wonderful touch! I will say that I was disappointed with the wedding coordinator, Julia, who joined the team a few months before my wedding. I provided her with the details sheet at our final session (template provided by Embassy Suites) and almost nothing on that sheet was communicated to the day of staff. It made the day a little stressful and had the poor day of coordinators running around. Additionally, the hotel rooms at Embassy Suites had an overall old/mildew smell that gave my guests who stayed overnight a headache. The rooms were not clean either. I moved my main wedding block to the Marriott across the street a few months before the wedding for this reason and am glad I did. Overall, myself and my guests had a wonderful time and so appreciate all the efforts from the day-of staff and kitchen crew!
Nicolette and Trisha at the Embassy were absolutely amazing! They made our 180 person reception go seamlessly.
We used both rooms one to eat in and the City View room for cocktails and dancing. We are still getting complements on the amazing view of the city.
The food was delicious so don’t worry about the bad reviews there.
The only complaint is on the rooms and checkout. It was not explained the hotel charges for incidentals ($136) per room. Since we didn’t know that the card on file was charged and over drafted even though the rooms were not damaged nor did we get anything like food charged to the room. Had we known about the charge we would have used another card to avoid overdraft fees.
Nicolette, Mark, Robert, and Trisha are all amazing to work with! We loved them and they were so accomodating and friendly to us and our guests.
The view is absolutely breathtaking. We had our ceremony on the patio and it was stunning.
Unfortunately in the ballroom, we had about 6-8 tables that couldn't see us or any of the speeches/things happening at the front of the ballroom due to large pillars blocking the way. Just be aware of that when you book. I felt really bad for those guests. We had 14 tables in total so if you have less than that you should be okay.
You cannot beat the view from the patio or the city view ballroom and the food is delicious too! Everyone raved about the salmon!
We had a couple minor issues with the venue but nothing extraordinary.
Nicolette and the entire Embassy Suites Cincinnati Rivercenter team were excellent! They were detail-oriented and made sure we were completely satisfied during the wedding reception planning process. The set-up, decor, food, and service on our big day exceeded our expectations. The staff was very accommodating as well. The skyline view from the ballroom was incredible. Our reception was absolutely beautiful!
After planning my wedding for over a year and selecting this venue with the anticipation that my wedding would go smoothly was a complete disappointment. For 6 months I played the hurry up and wait game. Two months prior to my event I was assigned a coordinator not in my city or even the state I was having my wedding. She set deadlines and they were met; as I mentioned I had been planning for a year so I had my details in order. Two weeks prior it took 4-5 days for the event coordinator to respond and emails were often late. Shy of a week prior to the wedding she informs me that the table linens were not available and pretty much I was SOL or buy them myself. I was reimbursed but that was added stress that was not needed. The day of the event to food was absolutely disgusting considering I picked a menu from years prior because the wedding tasting food was also disgusting. It was clear that they do not know how to prepare food for large groups. The day of contacts were trying to remedy my issues but considering the amount paid it should have went better. Also to mention things that were promised to be included in the package was just added as another charge in the final banquet order.
Danyelle and the rest of the group at Embassy Suites have been so helpful and punctual with working out the details for our wedding venue. They have made this process much easier than I would have imagined and we are so excited to continue to work with them as we get closer to the date.
I have nothing but positive things to say about our reception at the Embassy Suites Riverview ballroom. It is a gorgeous space with a breathtaking view and we had incredible service the day of the wedding and throughout the whole process. Throughout our planning process, Natalie (catering and sales manager) was extremely helpful and responsive, even down to the last minute! The day of coordinator, Mark, is amazing also. They make sure your every need is met. You are in good hands with them!
I cannot say enough positive things to say about this venue. My guest were all extremely impressed too. We've had a lot of people comment on how good the food was at our wedding, it was delicious! Everyone at the Embassy Suites is a pro at what they do, from the planning process, to the day of help, to the food. And you just cannot beat that view of the Roebling Bridge (especially when it is nighttime and the bridge twinkle lights are shining). You and your guests will be in love.
PHENOMENAL! That is the word I would use to describe our entire experience with this venue. They catered to our every whim, the food was exception, the service was outstanding, the view, the staff, the free room it was all PERFECT! I could not believe how beautiful the entire wedding and reception was. It was worth every penny! Natalie was the catering/sales manager we met with and she was an angel. She answered every email I sent and responded super fast! She set us up with a coordinator for the rehearsal night and wedding night. I was clueless how to throw an event and she helped me every step of the way and our entire even was just perfect. I couldn't thank her enough! My guests were all super happy and everyone had an amazing time. If you want a night to sit back and watch your child get married without having to lift a finger this is the venue for you! Hands down #1 in my book!
What a venue and what a great staff! We have thrown events in a myriad of locations in the midwest. This was by far and away the best. Our daughter's wedding was here. 95% of the guests were from out of town. We needed a location where the guests could stay and we could have the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and a Sunday brunch without worrying about transporting 175 people. This was so much more. The view is amazing, especially at night. The staff was warm and welcoming. The food was top notch. Natalie and her event staff went way above and beyond, especially as we were planning this long distance. Next event we have in the area, this will be our spot.
This was the PERFECT place for both our ceremony and our reception! Natalie was so easy to work with and made the whole process so much better. Embassy Suites not only made the day perfect for me as a bride, but for all my guests as well. Having over 150 out of towners, this venue fit all of our needs and exceeded our expectations. The city view room is breathtaking and I highly suggest it for all!
This venue is spectacular-- service, location, views, and food were all top notch. Guests enjoyed the newly updated furnishings and we received lots of compliments on the spectacular views of the city skyline from the ballroom where the event was held. Natalie was responsive, helpful and her and the staff made our event run seamlessly! My favorite part about the venue is that there is so much included in their event packages-- eliminating decision-making overload and making it very easy to plan the wedding. Our wedding reception was spectacular and I highly recommend hosting an event here!
We have a great time, they worked very hard to make our day perfect. We loved every second.
Our wedding was perfect! Natalie worked with us every step of the way and made sure that my every request was met. She answered all of my questions in a very timely manner. Mark was our day of coordinator who was very attentive to us during the reception and making sure we were happy with everything. They set up all of our decorations exactly how we wanted, kept to the reception timeline, everyone was very professional and helpful, and the food was AMAZING. We loved every part of how our reception went at the Embassy Suites Rivercenter and I would highly recommend it!
Our wedding at the Embassy was absolutely phenomenal!! There were some last minute issues but the coordinators went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect! Our guests have not stopped complimenting us on the astounding view and how easily everything seemed to flow! We couldn’t have done it without the coordinators who made sure there were plenty of options, in case of rain, that my groom and I were completely satisfied, and that our guests were taken care of the entire night. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to hold our ceremony and reception!
The major selling point for this venue was the incredible view from the City View Ballroom. The floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Cincinnati skyline is amazing. We had the pleasure of working with Natalie Bullock. She was prompt replying to all of our wedding questions and made sure that any additional requests we had were addressed. We booked our wedding about 15 months in advance. A few months before our wedding the hotel decided to go through lobby renovations which were anticipated to be completed before our wedding date. The renovations fell behind schedule however and Natalie assured us she would make the hotel look as beautiful as possible. We must admit we were very skeptical about how the hotel would look on our big day and to our guests staying there. Natalie however spared no expense and put up drapery on the walls that were not completed and even surprised us with an amazing light display with our names and wedding date on it! She also included a goody bag in our guest’s room apologizing for the construction. On our wedding day we didn’t even notice that the hotel was still under construction! Another highlight of this venue was we were able to attend a few different group tastings before our wedding and the food did not disappoint! We literally could not have asked for a better venue, view, or staff to work with us. Also a HUGE thank you to Mark (day-of coordinator) for making sure everything from the wedding favors to the flowers were set up just how we wanted them, and for coordinating the sequence of events with our vendors flawlessly. Natalie and Mark were truly superstars the day of our wedding. Our wedding day was literally perfect!
I am writing to express my appreciation for all of the effort the staff at the Embassy Suites RiverCenter put into making my son's wedding weekend the perfect event that it was. There is not one single detail we would have changed! We had a hotel block of rooms there for our out of town guests. Since most family was coming from the New York City area and the reception was at the lodge at the Nature Center, we wanted to provide them with a little more Cincinnati urban experience for variety. It turned out to be perfect! The view was spectacular and the Friday night fireworks an added bonus! The service was impeccable. Since the wedding was on May 5th, we had a Cinco de Mayo theme for the rehearsal dinner. The catering manager all used the raw Mexican themed materials (sombreros, maracas, paper flowers, etc) that I provided to turn the room into a beautiful setting for our "fiesta." The theme was a big hit with everyone and our highest compliments to the chef. He customized the menu to perfection! The guests raved over the food. Truly I have nothing but the highest praise for everyone who worked on our dinner. The attention to detail was incredible. I am just so impressed and so happy we decided to stay at your hotel. It was a weekend to remember and event that I will always hold close in my heart.
The Embassy Suites Rivercenter is the PERFECT place to get married in the Cincinnati/Northern, KY area. We chose to have both the ceremony and reception at the same spot, and Embassy knocked the whole event right out of the park!
LOCATION- The city skyline background for a ceremony is second to none. It is truly breathtaking. Natalie (the best Wedding Catering and Sales Manager to ever live!) and her team had everything set up to perfection for the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, dance and firework show thereafter. Yes, fireworks! Book a Reds firework Friday and you will have the most magnificent backdrop for your after dinner photos! The location is also perfect for out of town guests to explore the city easily as it is close to everything.
FOOD & DRINK - It is important to note that the food and beverage minimum is before the 23% food and beverage service charge, so just be careful to not get surprised there. Otherwise, the food and bar were AMAZING. We had selected seated dinner and guests chose from Stuffed Gouda and Prosciutto Chicken (AMAZING), Maple & Bourbon Butter Salmon (AMAZING) or the Vegan/Gluten Free option they had available (I am sure this was great, but I didn't try it myself). The Spinach Salad we started with was also fabulous and the Italian Wedding Soup was the best I've ever had, and I have had hundreds because I love it!
HOTEL - the rooms are recently renovated and gorgeous and the buffet breakfast in the morning was delicious. The made to order omelets were a crowd-pleaser for sure. A complimentary happy hour for two hours each afternoon for hotel guests is a major perk as well.
VALUE- The Embassy Suites doesn't nickle and dime you AT ALL! Where as most venues charge for each chair cover, each tablecloth, each centerpiece, each sash, each table # stand, all of this and more was included at Embassy suites and Natalie made sure that our selections were exactly what we had hoped for.
STAFF- Natalie, Mark, Julie and the entire team are amazing! They do whatever they can to make sure that your day is perfect and are so attentive to your needs! We are forever indebted to this crew for facilitating the very best day of our lives thus far.
THANK YOU EMBASSY SUITES RIVERCENTER!!!!!
Embassy Suites did a fantastic job facilitating our wedding this Summer. We booked well in advance, and we were glad to have so much taken off of our plate. The price includes a lot of items that we would have had to coordinate separately, and that we were glad to hand off. The ceremony was on the side deck and had a beautiful backdrop, and the reception was just inside with the same riverside view. Our families took full advantage of the reserved rooms made available, and more beyond those. The staff worked well with the vendors and made sure that we were well taken care of!
They helped make it the best day ever! Planning was super easy and fun. They were incredibly responsive to any and all of my questions in the most timely manner. They catered to all of my requests and the day was absolutely perfect. All of my guests enjoyed staying at the hotel and it was fun to have a delicious breakfast together the next morning. Everything went so smoothly and I really appreciated the attention and detail of service given to the wedding party. Our glasses were never empty! The food was to die for and the vegetarians loved their meals. All in all, I cannot imagine having had a better day. I am so grateful for the quality of my once in a lifetime experience. I HIGHLY recommend this venue. As a bonus, not only did my photographer get great pictures, my guests did as well out on the patio overlooking the city skyline!
I wanted to give my review of the Embassy Suites Rivercenter in Covington,KY while things are still ongoing.
When I got engaged I chose Embassy Suites RiverCenter for my venue because I have stayed at Embassy Suites hotels in the past and really enjoyed my stay plus they have a view of the Ohio River that is very pretty and I wanted to have this view for my wedding. Well at first things seem to go ok with the planning but as time went on things got progressively worse.
I have had nothing but trouble from the sales staff at the hotel. From calling to check on room blocks and no one being able to find them to being told conflicting information regarding reservations for out of town guest to being upcharged a ridiculous amount of money to flip a ceremony room into a reception room with a dance floor. The customer service there is terrible and any time there is an issue someone transfers blame onto someone else. The latest issue I have had was my sales person trying to get me to have me ceremony on top of the parkay dance floor because they did not realize the time it would take to set up the dance floor.
I still have a week til my wedding and I am sure more issues will arise. I will continue to post as things happen-------overall---------Not Happy
We had our wedding ceremony and reception here and were very happy with our entire day. The views of the Roebling bridge, river, and Cincinnati skyline made extra decorating unnecessary! The pricing is average, the service was great. Very easy one stop shopping for venues, food, accommodations, and set-up. It would be nice if there was an option for free parking for the guests. The food was excellent. There is an $8000 minimum for Saturdays so we chose a Friday but ended up spending right at $8000 anyway for everything for 115 guests and ceremony.
My WEdding was perfect and their packages allow most of it to be inclusive so you can stress less! Rachel was amazing throughout the whole process, the only downfall I had was you have to pay for parking and so guests which is ridiculous :(
Our wedding last night was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. We worked with Rachel from the beginning, and she was more than accomodating to all of our requests, and helped make our wedding a complete success. I had originally not planned on getting married until next year, and in August decided to move my wedding up to November. With such a short planning time frame, I was worried I would not even be able to find a venue, but my now husband and I visited Embassy on a whim since we had seen the City View ballroom before and had fallen in love with it. I did not expect them to have any availability, but when they did we jumped on it to reserve the room because we knew it was where our wedding had to be. The view from that ballroom is stunning, and we received compliments on it from everyone all night. We also ended up deciding to have our wedding ceremony at the Embassy Suites as well, since with the short time frame for planning we ended up choosing to have our wedding on a Friday evening and did not want our guests to have to deal with rush hour traffic driving between venues. At first I was skeptical about having a "conference room" wedding, but with the decor and everything that we ended up using the room was beautiful beyond our wildest dreams and we had guests in awe of the entire event from start to finish. The food was delicious, and was even better than it was at our tasting, my mother was thrilled. Also, other staff members like Amanda, and Rita of the catering staff, went above and beyond expectations as well and were pleasures to work with. We had our Rehearsal at the Embassy and many members of the wedding party spent the night before the wedding at the hotel and we all had our hair and makeup done at the hotel before the wedding as well, and everything went so smoothly. We loved our wedding, and I don't even think if we had taken 2 years to plan it that it could have come out more perfectly, from the weather to every detail of the evening, and much of that perfection came as a result of the staff and quality of service at the Embassy Suites. I am literally sad my wedding is over, because it was so perfect I just want to experience every moment of it forever. Thank you again to Rachel and the rest of the Embassy Suites Rivercenter Staff!!!
Went through three different event coordinators in 6 months. Did not honor many aspects of the contract.
Choosing Embassy Suites as our reception venue is one of the best decisions that we have ever made. The room was absolutely stunning - breath-taking, with floor to ceiling windows over-looking downtown Cincinnati. We went with a Saturday afternoon reception to save on cost - and it was still a stunning view. We received so many compliments on how beautiful the room looked, on the food, on the service - it was our most complimented feature. When I walked into the room - I was almost stunned by how amazing it looked. You get what you pay for here - great service, set-up and even a coordinator to help plan the reception. We also received a honeymoon suite for that night - overlooking downtown Cincinnati. Loved it. Go with Embassy - you WILL not regret it.
The venue itself was pretty and the room was the perfect size; we were in the Roebling ball room. I was a bit disappointed with two things: service and food. The service was good at times and not at other times. At times we got a great response and other times it seemed like the staff didn't communicate. Also, if I hadn't just been very involved in a friend's wedding, I might not have know some questions to ask and things to ask the staff to do like pre-set the head table's name cards so we got food to eat. These were things I assumed the venue would at least mention and remind me of. Also, the first person we had worked with said we could do somethings and then she quit and those promises weren't carried out. The food was the other thing. The food was much better at the tasting than on the actual day and I didn't think some of it tasted much like the tasting food. Also, we gave a specific head count of food for our guests, which was not cheap I might add, and they didn't have enough vegetarian meals. This resulted in some people getting noodles with olive oil on them which were not good and a pretty lousy vegetarian meal. That was disappointing. Other than that, the space is beautiful and the band we had made the reception a blast!
Very nice rooms and nice space to get ready w/my girls. We had our hair & makeup done in the room. Ate breakfast that morning of the wedding in the hotel breakfast area, which was very nice! They have awesome breakfast! Very friendly staff, and BEAUTIFUL lobby that we took pictures in once we were ready! There was even a live parrot! Great hotel to stay in overall!
I was hesitant to have my wedding in a hotel because I wasn't sure how things would turn out, but I was pleasantly surprised.Everything was taken care of from the decorating to the arrangement of tables, to center pieces and more. The staff was extremely nice and took such good care of the bridal party AND our guests. They also did our food which was delicious and very well presented. It may seem pricey at first but for what you are getting, it's worth every dime! Everything was beautiful and exactly how I dreamed it would be!
this was the first venue we looked at, and we booked it right away. we had our ceremony on the patio outside, and it was INCREDIBLE. the view of the cincinnati skyline was what sold us. everyone talked about how gorgeous it was. then we had the reception inside the captain's view ballroom -- floor to ceiling windows looking out on the river and the city. absolutely beautiful. the staff there are VERY professional and helpful. they made everything run completely smoothly. shannon is the catering manager there and she devotes herself to making you feel totally confident about everything. she takes a personal interest and supervises EVERYTHING that goes on -- makes sure that you get what you want. the bridal packages that they offer are VERY reasonable and include SO much. the food is amazing and i cannot say enough good things about everything. GREAT place for a wedding.
Still waiting for our final price BUT Shannon was amazing throughout everything. The hotel lost AC the day of the wedding and our entire reception room had to be moved. We were able to get into the Met Club on the 19th floor with a great view of the city. The wait staff was unbelievable. Many of our guests were comp.'d their 2nd night's stay and all were given 30% off their first night. Hopefully they give us a great discount for everything being moved/changed/screwed up/etc. I would HIGHLY recommend this place though.
Embassy Suites Rivercenter was a great choice for our wedding. We worked with Shannon who was amazing... she was so helpful the entire time, it is like having a built in wedding planner. The view from the City View room is stunning.
Me experience with the Embassy was wonderful. Everything was managed really well. They were very attentive to the needs to the wedding party and very courteous to everyone. The ambience was also very good.
Me experience with the Embassy was wonderful. Everything went well. The only thing I can say as constructive is that our wedding was the first in the remodled City view room for 100 people. We had our dance floor in the adjacent space. We opened the retracting wall and it all worked out fine and we actually had more space in the end. I would still rate them 5 stars
Let's start with this, the Ballroom is terrible but if you are having a smaller wedding(under 200ish) the Jr. Ballroom is stunning. The balcony is big and has a great view. the food was spectacular and the Chef went out of his way to meet my evey need. Go w/ the salmon, yum! Shannon is great from beginning to end but don't ask for the room side of things to budge, they are inflexible and don't understand what bite the hand that feeds you really means. Reservations and the front desk are very accomadating and there's normally PLENTY of room to host any kind of event! The shining star of this staff though is the F and B mgr. Chris, almost a stalkers level of attention which I didn't know I wanted until my wedding day b/c there was NO time to go running around finding ppl. Book here and you will be pleased, even if you have to strong arm to get a river view wedding nite suite ;)
Our wedding was on July 4, 2010. We held both the ceremony and reception at the Embassy Suites. The ceremony was outside on the terrace and the reception was in the river view room, which has recently endured major reconstruction. The room was transformed into a stunning venue with floor to ceiling views of the river and city skyline. The views were a huge selling point for us in picking the Embassy to host our wedding. It was beautiful by day, but especially by night with the city view lit up. You also have a clear view of the Millennium Bridge as well, which just makes for a perfect city view and great for pictures!
The Embassy was wonderful for so many reasons, but other than the view another huge reason we selected it was because of the events coordinator Shannon. I still cannot begin to express my gratitude to her for pulling everything together. She helped in every way from start to finish, always answering our questions no matter how many we had. She was always there for us. She coordinated the entire rehearsal the night before the wedding, which I'm still not sure what I would have done without her help. And every last detail I had planned she executed for both the ceremony and the reception. We had had a candle lighting ceremony during the wedding and just before everything was to begin the wind had knocked over a broken one of the glass candle domes. Shannon had quickly found (I still don't know how she did it) another dome that was so similar I doubt anyone noticed. Again I am so grateful to her.
Another member of the Embassy team is Amanda, who coordinated the set-up of the wedding the day of. She was also amazing in every way. She was constantly checking with me throughout the day to make sure things were being set-up the way I had wanted. There were a few things that I had actually planned to put together myself. Silly me thought I had time! Amanda made sure that I had nothing to do with the set-up and instead made sure it was all done.
The details that the Embassy provided for the wedding were all perfect as well. The food was delicious. We had had a sit-down meal, with a combination of 3 jumbo shrimp and a petite fillet mignon. We also chose garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. A lot of people had told me not to expect to eat dinner at the wedding, but I ate every last bit and it was lovely. We had also had a cocktail hour with many served appetizers. Although I didn't taste them, all of of guests had nothing but good things to say and there were none left, so I think that that is good indication in and of itself that they were delicious! Also a plus was that the Embassy provided a cheese display, which was put out for the cocktail hour. This was good for our vegetarian guests. Along with our cake and candy station we had also chose to have the Embassy provide a dessert station. This included tiny pieces of pies, cakes etc. as well as pastries. Again I unfortunately did not get to sample anything, but by the end of the night there was nothing left. And to think that we contemplated it being too much dessert!
Our wedding was nothing short of Amazing, hence the title to my review and we owe a lot of it to The Embassy and their staff. It was a true privilege to work with them. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!!!
I had my wedding reception in the hotel ballroom this past August as well as the rehearsal dinner in the restaurant (which has since been expanded). I can't say enough good things about this hotel. First, the staff was all incredibly helpful and friendly. They made everything so easy and flow smoothly, from helping with the planning (providing suggestions and recommending vendors in the area) to having everything run flawlessly the day of. I never had to worry about a thing. Both my husband and my families came in from out of town, so having the reception at a hotel was super convenient. We had over 30 rooms of guests booked (having everyone together in one place all weekend was a lot of fun!), and of all those people, we didn't hear a single complaint about the hotel. In fact, our guests all raved about it to us long afterward. It was also close to the airport for them, and close to downtown Cincinnati and Newport. Many of them enjoyed the attractions at Newport on Friday, and on Sunday we were able to walk across the Roebling Bridge to Great American ballpark for a Reds game. Also, being right on the river, you can't beat the views, and yet I was surprised that it was actually less expensive than a lot of other places we looked. I am very stingy about giving 5 star ratings, but this hotel gave me everything I could have wanted for my wedding day and helped make it truly perfect.
