We first looked to the Embassy Suites for a block of hotel rooms, which we booked about 10 months in advance of the wedding. The whole process was a nightmare- the sales agent Michelle was impossible to get ahold of in a timely manner, and many details I outlined went unattended to (such as saying my grandmother needed a handicap room) and I had to check in numerous times to ensure they got taken care of. In the end, there were still kinks we had to undo after the wedding was over, such as mystery charges and people being charged for their rooms when they were being paid for by other parties.
We booked a space that Michelle for our rehearsal dinner, only to discover months later that the space was already booked for a wedding! She had put us in another space, across the parking lot, without telling us!
But Stacy, Michelle's supervisor, came to the rescue! Having to juggle all of these issues, plus a hurricane, Stacy found us (and the other wedding that was happening outside that night) all indoor locations to host our events, and was incredibly helpful in making sure we had what we needed. Two days before our wedding, they found room for us to actually hold our wedding at the hotel (it was supposed to be outdoors but was foiled by a hurricane), and for all of our troubles, even gave us a discount on our hotel room and the use of the space.
The presidential suite was lovely, the hotel staff, with Stacy leading the way, was professional and did EVERYTHING they could to help us out. She truly saved our wedding, and we are forever grateful. (and Michelle no longer works there!)
Another note: Rooms here were $150 a night, and were all suites. This was easily $100 less per night than rooms downtown, and their free shuttle to and from the airport was priceless with our guests.
I recently had my wedding at Embassy Suites. I was excited to book my outdoor wedding there since they have the beautiful lawn and terrace, but in case of rain, things could always be moved indoors. It turns out it was good we thought ahead about the rain plan as there was a 100% forecast of rain for the day of my wedding, and we did end up having to move the ceremony from the lawn to the covered terrace and the reception from the terrace to a ballroom inside. It didn't end up raining much that day, just some mist, but we were so glad we made the decision. Other venues we looked at would have made us pay for an expensive tent rental and other last minute changes. We would have been so upset to pay so much for a tent, then not end up needing it since it didn't rain. Embassy Suites did everything they could to make our big day as perfect as possible even with the last minute changes due to the weather. Their staff did a great job setting everything up and being on call to get us anything we needed on the day of. We were also glad they do all of the food in house, unlike other venues where we would have had to hire an outside caterer. That made one less thing we had to deal with, and the food is actually very good, too.
The only thing I would warn other brides about is that I have heard they have a lot of turnover in the Event Sales Manager position (the person in charge of your wedding). When we signed on to have our wedding there, it was a woman who had over 10 years previous experience in wedding planning and was extremely organized. She was one of the big reasons we chose Embassy Suites, and we were very comfortable with her. Unfortunately she left few months later, and the replacement person they hired a few months after that (and just a few months before our big day) was very nice and was trying her very best to make us happy, but in my opinion, could have used more training. At times, it took longer than we hoped to get answers because she kept having to check with other people or departments. I also know someone else who got married here a few years before us, and she had a totally different Event Sales Manager. So be aware that the person you are dealing with could and may change before your wedding. One other note: I see another bride on here who wrote about her leftover cake disappearing at the end of the night. Ours did, too, as well as our cake server.
There were a few bumps in the road, but all in all, Embassy Suites is a beautiful venue, and we were very happy with our big day and our decision to have our wedding there.
The handled everything perfectly! So easy, did everything I asked and made the day magical! Love love love.
Embassy Suites was the perfect location for our spring wedding. The ceremony was held outside in the beautiful terrace with the reception in the Palmetto Club room. Christina was great to work with because she was helpful during the planning as well as knowledgeable. If you want everything in one place this is a good location. The food was good. Many guests commented on the it.
However, if you are planning to get leftover food, cake, or cake stands please have someone you trust designated to get these items before they disappear. It was reported that staff was seen gathering extra cake for themselves. They told us that all cake was gone. Also, there was a problem in communication between staff regarding our cake stand. They told family members who came to gather the cake stand that it was put in a box and given to the bride and groom. This was not true at all. So, during my honeymoon I had to call and email about this cake stand. Eventually, it was FOUND.
Up to that point the experience was great! Overall we were very happy with our choice of Embassy Suites!

Josh Jones Photography produced amazing photos and captured our wedding day perfectly. He also did our engagement photos. After researching my photographers...I came across JJ photos through the recommendation of a friend and was in awe of every photo. I took a chance and it was another awesome decision! There is no need for a videographer with Josh as your photographer because when it was all over the moments he captures tell a beautiful, unique story. We were very satisfied with our decision.
The Embassy staff was wonderful at making our wedding experience the best. The only down side that I had at our wedding was the bartender that was there when we arrived and also the night of the wedding. We had a cash bar at the reception that was wonderful but the inside bartender was rude, insulted my accent, and went on break as soon as we sat down to eat and never told anyone that we hadn't been helped. I will say that Erin, Lisa Bailey-Bragg, Rob Ammeter and the rest of the staff at our wedding were amazing. Erin delivered us chocolate covered strawberries with champagne to our suite as well as dinner plates to make sure we had a chance to eat. I would highly recommend this hotel and their staff, with the exception of the inside bartender :)
They were helpful with anything and everything I needed or wanted. I changed my mind almost every day up to the day of the wedding and it was still perfect. Thank you Embassy Suites!
My daughter's wedding was held at The Embassy Suites and it was a perfect day for everyone. The ceremony was held under The Terrace outside and the crepe myrtles matched the hot pink hydrangea bouquets. They let the bridal party borrow golf carts to take pictures on the grounds. The food was delicious and elegantly displayed. We had The Palmetto Room to ourselves all night. Our out of state relatives spend the weekend there and enjoyed the pool, clean rooms, great food and free transportation to the Reedy River. Rob and DG were the best and couldn't do enough to ensure our every need was met. I would use The Embassy Suites again if I had another daughter!
The wedding package prices included the Gratuity and tax fees.;Chair cover fees are outrageous. Hotel promised to monitor room block and add rooms when it was full. They did not. I had to call and request rooms to be added after friends and family tried to book a room and could not.
