Emily Chowning Photography & Videography

We used Emily as a photographer for our wedding in April. We loved all of our pictures but had a very poor experience using her. After our wedding, we were told we would be getting sneak peak pictures a few days after our wedding, it was a month later and I had to finally reach out to ask if she had any because I hadn't heard from her since our wedding about any of them. I get that a photographer is busy but don't tell your customer you will be getting them pictures in a few days and then not follow up. It took a few months to receive our full gallery, which we knew was normal for most photographers, no big deal. We sent her a pretty minimal shot list of the pictures we wanted for the day. When we go to look through the gallery, there were multiple pictures that weren't there that we had asked for, and I remember posing for the pictures and them being taken. We ask her about them and I get no response for a few days, so i followed up with her to see if she had received my message. Still no reply. It took multiple texts, emails, & DM's over 3-4 weeks to finally get ahold of her. She offered to look through the pictures she took to see if she had them and that she would get back to us. There was also some pictures that came in only black and white that I had asked for in color, and she said she would send over. Once again, I get no reply about anything that I had asked for even though she said she would get back to me. I have emailed and texted her over the last month to try and get ahold of her again. But we have not heard back from her. It has been over 2 months since we got our full gallery back and although we enjoyed our pictures it has been EXTREMELY frustrating and disappointing to be a customer and pay for a service when the photographer can't even give you a simple reply. I don't feel like we are asking much of her, just to simply look through our pictures so see if she has what we have been asking about. I do not suggest using her if you don't want to have issues like we have.

My husband and I got married in early April of 2019. We STILL do not have our raw footage which was included in our contract to be delivered within 3-4 weeks. I have been in contact multiple times over the last year and a half and most communication doesn’t get a response. If a response does come - I’ve been so busy I’ll have it to you within the week! And, of course, still no footage. I would recommend you spend your money elsewhere, with a more reputable individual who will deliver on their contractually bound obligations.. unless you prefer to spend thousands of dollars to receive 6 minutes of your most special day and miss out on reliving your ceremony, speeches, reception and behind the scenes moments.

It is now the end of April and we still have not received a flash drive. Emily claims to have trouble sending them in the mail, something along the lines of postal workers taking the flash drives out of the envelope? Seems crazy to me that our photographer had no problem getting a flash drive to us. We were told a few weeks ago it was sent in the mail and when we mentioned we never got it she would send it again. Well it has now been two months and we still have no flash drive.

We hired Emily to do a highlight video for our September wedding, along with the video we were supposed to receive a flash drive with all the raw footage. It has been 5 months since our wedding and we still have not received the raw footage that contains all the speeches and all footage that did not make it into our video. We have tried multiple times to contact Emily with no luck except for a month ago we were told that it would be in the mail the next day and still no flash drive. We have tried mulptiple times this past month to contact (cell phone/voicemal, text message, email) none of which have prompted a response from Emily. So I would strongly suggest avoiding her company unless you want to pay a lot of money and never be able to hear your fathers/best man, and maid of honors speeches again. Do not put something in a contract if you cant hold up your end of the deal. Thanks
