Capella was an amazing planner to work with - she was on top of it but never overbearing. She brought the fun and structure and made it a 10/10 event!!
Working with Empress was as easy as could be! We went in person to finalize the choices we wanted and they delivered the night before the wedding. Loved having furniture as an option for our wedding, was a great place to relax and enjoy the view. Everything was beautiful and looked great!
I hired Empress Tents and Events for my rentals for my wedding this year. The items were delivered on time and in good condition. However, they did not update my invoice according to my requests until just a few days before the wedding, after months and weeks of asking, and the updates were often incorrect. I signed a contract stating everything would be picked up the afternoon after the wedding, so we had time to stack the chairs in the morning. Upon delivery I was told all 200 chairs would need to be stacked and ready by 8am the next morning, or we pay $5 per chair. I was told the contract was simply wrong and would not be honored. So me (bride) and my husband, and our wedding party spent 2 hours after the reception stacking chairs at midnight. It was awful. It honestly felt like a scam, like they were hoping they could change the terms last minute and could collect the $5 per chair from me. Yes, they have cute stuff, but it is absolutely not worth working with them in my opinion. For what its worth, I complained about the chair pickup the morning of the wedding stating we would not be stacking the chairs, but It was not responded to until 9AM the next day when she knew the chairs would already be gone.
Empress was great to work with before my wedding day and they have a beautiful, large selection.
However, my rentals were delivered over TWO HOURS late on my wedding day. Once we realized they weren’t going to be on time, my coordinator called four times and emailed and they finally showed two hours after the agreed upon time. This completely threw off our schedule and wound up causing a huge set back with our other vendors. Once the items were finally delivered I realized two of the cake plates for our wedding cake were not the ones I ordered.
After my honeymoon, I touched base with Lynn via email. I informed her of the incredibly late delivery and incorrect items and asked for a refund on the delivery fee, the two incorrect items, and half of a sofa we had ordered, since the items were so late and caused such a big problem on our wedding day. I was completely surprised when Lynn responded with a rude email trying to place the blame on me. She seemed confused on when the items were supposed to be delivered, saying that having them delivered the day before the wedding is a courtesy and that it was my fault because I didn’t call and say we needed the couch early (?). I let her know that the items were delivered (and were supposed to be delivered) on my wedding day and that the couch didn’t need to be there “early” it needed to be there within the agreed upon time frame. Which it was not.
She said this wouldn’t have been an issue if I had called earlier in the week (not sure how that makes sense) and that her team had tried to contact me before my wedding day, although I never received a phone call or email. Even if I had called earlier for some reason, I’m not sure how that would have prevented them from coming that late and with the wrong items. She also mentioned that if I “would have taken the time to inform [them] of what I was doing with the items” they would have “switched” things around. I ordered cake plates, chairs, and a sofa. The cake plates were for cake and the chairs and sofa were for sitting.
After I responded to her email, I haven’t heard back. Having rental items show up this late AND be incorrect, is completely unacceptable. To me, this was reason enough to not give Empress the highest marks, but Lynn’s response really solidified to me that I would not recommend working with Empress. I’m really surprised that a small business in the valley would respond this way to its clients. Would not recommend working with Empress.
My wife, then fiancé, and I hired The services of Lyn and Capella over a year to our wedding. Unfortunately we had to cancel due to an unexpected deployment and they were nothing but sincere and helpful. We even got a hand written note in the mail with a portion of our deposit included. I cannot speak highly enough of this company and recommend them for anyone needing rental services in Montana.
Coordinators: Our wedding day coordination was NOT what we paid for or expected. We had breach of contract that caused us to be fee’d by our venue and we felt a little betrayed.
We had been working with Lynn for almost a year on our wedding. About a month before our wedding Capella (someone new) was introduced . OK, wasn’t expecting that, but I’m sure she’s just helping Lynn out. For most of the month leading up, Capella was working with us. Do you think that either Lynn or Capella coordinated my wedding? Nope, two random women (one I met the night before) coordinated. They didn’t know many of the details I spoke to Lynn about over the YEAR over the phone and emails.
If Capella or Lynn was actually there for the coordination, we feel like a lot of this would have been dealt with better and had been more comfortable. Instead we were thrown two people who I just met.
Hire someone who will take personal responsibility for your wedding and will actually be there.
Rental: As a rental company, they were great!
We loved working with Empress! Lynn met with us in the showroom and we were able to pick out everything! We rented two Emerald green velvet clam chairs, a bunch of green and brown goblets, yard games, and a sweetheart table. Everything was perfect! They have such beautiful stuff to select from and all different styles!
Great things to rent! We rented the cutest bar went with my colors and decor perfectly! Also rented tents, tables, chairs, linens, lights. Everything was handled very professionally and timely. Very easy to work with despite my constant changes:).
Organized and amazing! Felt like family and just made my day amazing! Highly recommend and took care of everything since I planned this from Michigan. Lynn is a great communicator and goes above and beyond to help make your special day amazing.
I planned my wedding in Noxon, MT all the way from TN. I am so glad that I found Empress Tents & Events online while looking for vendors not knowing a lot about the Montana area. Working with Lynn made my planning from afar so much easier and I felt way more at ease placing my wedding vision in her hands. When it came time for the wedding, and we got to meet Lynn in person, she made sure that everything about my wedding was perfect. We had our wedding outside and there was a bad mosquito issue but Lynn helped us remain calm and did some last minute changes to still make everything work out beautifully.
Including Empress Tents & Events was the best decision for our wedding planning. I highly recommend Lynn and her team to produce a beautiful wedding/event no matter what style you want. She’s got tons of beautiful pieces to choose from! She also make a wonderful planner! Thank you Empress Tents & Events!
Lynn and her team are truly the best. In addition to supplying beautiful tents, chairs, linens, and more, we hired Lynn to do the day-of organizing for us. She worked as the behind-the-scenes magician who headed off problems at the pass, made everything run smoothly. She whipped out seating for a few guests who didn't RSVP, set out appetizers, moved the dance floor under the tent before it started to rain, and so much more. They're incredible. Book them. You won't be sorry.
