Crank's was outstanding for our wedding this past weekend at The Eastern in Detroit. Their staff was professional, friendly, and handled everything we asked of them. They went out ...
of our way to ensure we had the perfect wedding! Prior to the wedding they were always available to answer any questions, last minute requests, or jump on a call to talk things over. I would recommend using Crank's at your next event!
We had a wonderful wedding, Gwen and her team made our night magical. They were so attentive and exceed our expectations.
At the time we booked our venue, we had to also book with Crank's as they were the exclusive caterer. It left a strange taste in my mouth, but we were and are obsessed with our ven...
ue so we went with it. From the very start we ran into small problem after small problem and, after over a year and a half of trying to work with them between booking and our actual event, I am absolutely positive that we will NEVER work with or recommend them again. Issues included: incorrectly inputting my email address so I had to chase them (by phone) to receive our quote, losing touch during covid (understandable) but unable to get a call back about whether we would even get to do a taste test (we never did) or if they were going to honor our date and payment- a ~6 week turnaround time just to get a call back to be told that whoever's desk my message had landed on had simply not responded and kicked it back without telling anyone else, chasing them to give them the final head count and menu (their own contract and employees say they were supposed to call us), the building was locked and closed on the day that we were told to come and pay (thank god the accountant was there to do payroll and was able to help us), not receiving a call about when the person working our event would be coming to set up, despite the owner telling us she'd be there on THURSDAY (Friday event) and when we called her on Thursday to find out where she was she told me she DIALED MY NUMBER WRONG and now couldn't make it a day before set up happen. Admittedly lost my cool because, at that point, we're the day before our wedding and they can't even call a phone number correctly... They sent out an assistant who did come and set up on Thursday, but then texted me a half an hour after she had said she'd arrive to say that they were running late... 30 minutes before the ceremony was set to start. The food was just over room temperature, the "firework display" for the seven desserts was two plates next to the coffee cups... business cards for Crank’s everywhere! I tipped the assistant and one other employee that came to help well because they worked by themselves, but in the end we paid Crank's over $5k for hassle, stress and disappointment. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Editing to add: our cake wasn't put out - my husband actually went and got it from the kitchen, and they either forgot or didn't make the "specialty plate" that they were going to prepare for him because of his dairy allergies.
Our original wedding caterer closed during covid and it was a blessing in disguise because Crank's Catering exceeded our expectations! Crank's was easy to work with, the food was a...
mazing, the staff was very professional and kind, and left the venue spotless when they left. Guests are raving about the food weeks later (it tasted amazing left over too). We highly recommend Crank's for all catering needs!
The service was exceptional . The food was amazing . And the management team by far was the best ever from start to finish . Our special day was amazing I still hear to this day h...
ow beautiful everything was and that is all because of the amazing people that work there . Our day will always be remembered because of all of the people that made our day so special ! Thank you all so very much . From the owners to management to the staff we truly are blessed .
I can’t stress how delicious Crank’s food is. We got more compliments on how good the food at our wedding was than we got congratulations on our marriage. Every item was perfectly ...
crafted. We strongly recommend the Ultimate Night Buffet Package, as you will receive appetizers, dessert station, and a fantastic late night snack. Your guests will be thrilled.
Communication with the Crank’s team was always great, and when things needed to be addressed or changed they were always responsive. The only slight negative I could possibly say was the serving and bussing staff were not particularly enthusiastic, and started to tear down the linens that we rented from there much earlier than expected (and almost swiped up a few personal belongings within the linens on accident.)
Again, I strongly recommend Crank’s. It is some of the best food you’ll ever have, full stop. (Just make sure you communicate your timing of the event clearly. 😉 )
Crank's offered the best food to us. They provided us with one waiter, he was super polite. Showed up in a timely manner, cleaned up and made sure to check on everyone, grab plates...
from the guests & cut our cake. Really a great experience with them. Definitely would recommend to anyone. Great price's too for rental.
Cranks catered my onsite wedding and the food was great and I received many compliments. The price was great and they worked to create a menu we were happy with. Only complaint was...
I was told I would have 2 buffet tables set up and only had one which made dinner take longer.
Crank's did an amazing job at our wedding! The food was delicious - all of our guests were raving about it! They kept the tables clean throughout the night and working with Cindy w...
as wonderful setting up the menu for the day of - she was very helpful! Thank you for a beautiful job!
We hired Crank's to cater our 4/8/17 wedding at Noah's in Auburn Hills. They were fantastic!
We attended a tasting to finalize menu choices and it was a really fun time getting to...
talk to other engaged couples.
We chose herb chicken, sausage and peppers, lasagna, parsley potatoes and mixed veggies. Crank's was very open to customizing the menu to our taste and they were incredibly responsive.
The buffet set up itself was GORGEOUS and everything was so delicious (yes, we did eat a full meal at our wedding!).
Most of all - the servers who took care of us were attentive and respectful. They asked us before moving the cake or cake table, checked in with us multiple times to see if there was anything they could do for us and even helped us gather personal items at the end of the night.
I could not be happier with the food and the service!!! Highly recommended!
My husband and I hired Crank's for our September 2 wedding at another location. We are so happy with our choice; Michael was responsive and helpful throughout the planning process,...
and made sure that everything ran smoothly on our wedding day. Our guests RAVED over the dinner (especially the alfredo), and we did not even get a chance to see our dessert because our guests ate ALL of the cupcakes, cookies and brownies and were begging for more (when we had not even expected for half of the dessert to be eaten)! We would absolutely recommend working with Crank's for any catering needs!
So happy with the staff of Cranks!! Our ceremony & reception were held at the same location, and I couldn't have asked for anything better!! From the start with planning, down to...
the reception ending -- the staff was phenomenal!! Food was excellent, décor was beyond my expectations! I highly recommend!!
We had our reception at Enchantment Banquet Hall by Crank's at 21 Mile Road and Hayes. Some coordination was difficult, but it all worked out in the end. Food was excellent - no ...
complaints! Beautiful hall, and different than others because it is enclosed with windows - creates a more open atmosphere.
Food was delicious!
The number one thing everyone has said about out Reception was how amazing the food was. Great price and a really nice layout for weddings.
I had my reception here in June, actually at the new location on 21 & Hayes, it's called Enchanment. It is new. I couldn't have been more pleased with how everything turned out. ...
There is a HUGE bar, where everyone hangs out all night, plus a large outdoor patio area. It was extremely well put together. The food was SO GOOD! I've been to many weddings where the buffet food is alright, but I was so surprised. The fettucine alfredo is delish. They did such a great job setting everything up just how I had asked, and we were thrilled with the turn out!
It was a breathtaking experience. Everything was SO beautiful I could not have had a more beautiful day or location. The party tent is white peaked grandiouse and had very ro...
mantic lighting. It is situated near the lake and we got to watch the sunset over it. The forest is quite near for a quick romantic stroll (which we totally did). The food was good the staff was great and I mean GREAT!! I had a manservant to assist me in getting my food. Held my plate got what I wanted carried it for me etc and can I say I loved it? Nice touch from Crank's. Every goddess should have a manservant. I did all my own centerpieces and decorations because I have micromanagement issues and they let me in the day before to decorate and even the person setting up the tables and chairs contacted me to see if I had any preferences. My ceremony was also handled by them I could not of had a more beautiful backdrop. They have a gazebo if you want it but I chose to have it in a small bit of forest adjacent to the tent. The lake in the background visible through the trees WOW! So pretty. Very happy with how everything turned out.;The closest permanent bathroom structure is down by the boat launch which is a little bit of a walk. They do provide port-o-johns which were completely clean and as not gross as a port-o-john can get but you know... It's still a port-o-john. Alcohol is NOT included in their prices so you will have to purchase that seperately if you want it. Also the tent is not climate controlled so if you have a cold day well you get to be cold. They said that if one would want it heated they could do it but for a seperate fee and they would need at least a weeks notice. You never know what wild card Mother Nature is going to throw at you! Other than weather I would highly recommend this venue if you wanted a spectacularly beautiful wedding.
