Entertaining Company

“Everything was so good!” “Best wedding food I’ve ever had!” “I love what you guys did with the food!” These were actual quotes from our guests about the catering from Entertaining Company at our wedding celebration! Food was one of our biggest priorities when planning; we wanted something unique and delicious. Jane and her team at Entertaining Company absolutely delivered! Their attention to detail, creativity in display, thoughtfulness, hospitality of the staff, and, of course, flavor of the food confirmed that we made the right choice in choosing them for our wedding. There were a few things in particular that really stood out to us: 1. At the tasting, I talked about a potential idea for my signature cocktail and at the end of the tasting, they presented that signature cocktail idea personalized to us. Totally unexpected and a very nice touch. 2. Our notoriously picky flower girl ate 3 servings of the mac and cheese – it was that good! 3. Also at the tasting, my affinity for the Backstreet Boys came up in conversation and, while we hadn’t planned anything related to that, Jane surprised us at the wedding with Backstreet Boys details on the late-night snack trays and packaging. Our guests loved it and thought that I had planned it since it was so “me”! We were blown away by the creativity and thoughtfulness. We are so happy we booked them!

Julie and her team at EC did an incredible job!! All of the food was absolutely delicious and the guests all raved about it! The tasting was so much fun and Julie had such cute ideas for all the little details! She was also super helpful in recommending good wines to pair with the entrees as well. Julie was so accommodating throughout the process and just the sweetest to work with :) The EC team was very professional and did an amazing job with set up and getting so much transformed in such a short amount of time. 100% recommend and wish I could do it all again!!

They were above and beyond fabulous. Julie and her crew were amazing. I highly recommend them. Food was unbelievable. Veronica was by my side all night to make sure I ate or drank. Could not find one thing wrong and we had 200 thrilled people !!! Cant get any better

Fantastic! Food was amazing...everyone loved it. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They kept making sure the bride (me) and groom were taken care of throughout the night. They were really great with kids and we had several vegans at our wedding and they were able to take care of them as well. I highly recommend!

My husband and I are so happy with our decision to book Entertaining Company for the food at our wedding. The level of service, quality, personalization, and flexibility/creativity was just so much higher with EC than with any of the other options we considered. Our excellent experience was due in no small part to our wonderful coordinator, Michelle Sterling, who always conveyed the sense that we were not just one event among many: we were an important client worthy of custom and individual attention, even though we were working with a limited budget. Here, too, Michelle helped to stretch every dollar to create the most luxurious and delicious experience possible for us and our guests. The tasting was incredibly charming and well planned. Michelle met us in a room that she had decorated according to some of the colors and themes we had anticipated. We felt like we were chatting with an old friend, as their highly professional staff brought out plate after plate. This, too, put Entertaining Company above the rest: we went home with boxes and boxes of leftovers! When I mentioned during our initial conversation that I have some Polish heritage and was interested in potentially reflecting that in the menu, Michele went all out, sourcing pierogi for a late night snack, complete with little decorative Polish flag toothpicks, LOL, and researched Polish appetizers extensively. They offered to create brand new menu items for me, including a killer deviled egg topped with buttered bread crumbs, and a miniature cabbage roll that my guests are still talking about. The fact that Michelle and the team were willing to volunteer such personal touches really made me feel like our wedding was important to them and not just one more event among many. Throughout the planning process, Michelle was an invaluable resource. She responded to emails quickly, reminded us of important dates and milestones, stepped in as necessary to help advise, even with other components of the event, was tremendously helpful at the final walk-through, and was a pro at keeping the entire project on track and on time. I’m a certified Project Manager, and Michelle’s organizational and service skills were everything I could’ve hoped for and more. Flash forward to the wedding day: everything tasted wonderful, was hot and fresh, served on time, with no mistakes or issues that I know of. Maria was our VIP Waiter, and Tammy was our incredibly skilled and calm Function Director. Both were extremely present and available if we needed anything, but they were also perfectly happy to run the show themselves! When my husband and I stole a couple of moments between the ceremony and the cocktail hour to catch our breath, Maria snuck into our room and brought us champagne, punch, and two of every appetizer so that we could enjoy them before the craziness really set in. And something else that I will never forget is that as I danced and ran around the rest of the night, I noticed that there was always an EC team member standing near me with glasses of ice water on a tray! This was not even a service I had thought to expect, but it was much needed and made me feel very taken care of. It is now many months after our February 2020 wedding, and we are still being told all the time that the food at our wedding was incredible, and in fact that it was the best wedding food our guests had ever had. We one hundred percent agree and would book them again in a heartbeat!

Julie and her team went above and beyond what I expected from a catering company. They take so much pride in providing the absolute best service and product which translates into happy, satisfied and mind-blown wedding guests. Not only is their service/product light years ahead of other vendors we looked into , Julie herself is an incredible individual who is an absolute joy to work with. We have received so many compliments in regards to the food served at our wedding and are so pleased with our decision to hire Entertaining Company!

From start to finish, working with the Entertaining Company was wonderful. We were picky to start (and price-conscious), and Moriah and Jane thoughtfully put together several proposals with changes big and small to help us get to our perfect catering plan. The tasting in their office was another clue at how thorough EC would be—they designed a tasting room to look like our venue with our table shape, chairs, and linens. We had a great meal and conversation and took leftovers home. On our wedding day, Jane, Colleen, Natalie, and their crew were amazing. They set up the whole space, including things we and the florist had left. They moved flowers from ceremony to reception, organized the flow of the buffet, and offered table service for drinks during dinner from our BYOB bar. Throughout the night, my husband and I were carefully looked after—being offered food and drinks consistently no matter where we'd gotten off to. Toward the end of the night, we were completely wowed by EC when they served the late night snack we'd cut for budget. They added it back in for us as a surprise! We could not be happier we chose EC for catering and hope you will too!

We hired Entertaining Company (EC) for our wedding and reception. Kenny and Jillian were excellent. Jillian at communicating and logistics and Kenny at the vision, look and ideas. They were both great at the execution part. The quality of the food that EC provides is very high and the presentation is far better from anything we have seen from any other caterer ever. Our guests LOVED the food, both Indian on the wedding night and Global Fusion on the reception night. We were able to bring the menus together with a lot of trial and error and recommendations from Kenny and Jillian. They helped with getting the right amount of food and the right combination of food that would complement each other.Their experience of working with Indian and global cuisines was the primary reason we went with EC. On both days, we (bride and groom) were assigned an attendant who made sure we had food and drinks. The staff was highly attentive to our guests and did a great job! Overall, we were VERY happy that we picked EC for our wedding and reception catering.

Cannot say enough positive things about this catering company! For my recent wedding, we worked with Julie from start to finish. She was beyond a pleasure to work with! My mom and I immediately felt at ease in working with her, and she with her crew EXCEEDED our expectations. Our venue allowed us to book whichever caterer we wanted, so we were able to taste and explore with many other caterers. Their food was EXACTLY like the tasting and the service was TOP NOTCH for our black tie wedding. I'm trying to come up with another event to book them! The best thing is that the food tastes as amazing as their presentation!

The Entertaining Company did the food for our absolutely perfect wedding at the Chicago Cultural Center. It was so incredible--right up there with the best restaurants we have tried. We did a duo of beef tenderloin and pan roasted sea bass that everyone raved about. The appetizers, late night snacks, etc. were all perfect. And the service was flawless! Everyone at our wedding raved about how the food was the best they have ever had at a wedding. I highly, highly recommend them.

After reviewing several Chicago catering companies for our wedding, we selected Entertaining Co for our Ivy Room wedding for their creativity, flexibility and friendly vibe. We also chose them to cater our rehearsal dinner on Chicago's Leading Lady boat. My husband and I loved our tasting and really felt their offerings were several steps above typical "wedding food." They also worked with us to incorporate some personal touches, like serving a pork belly hors d'oeuvres with an Eastern NC BBQ recipe from my hometown and customizing our salad course down to every ingredient. Guests also raved about the sea bass entree. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars: 1. We served two late-night food options, but many of our guests never saw these being offered. The staff seemed to barely circulate and there didn't seem to be much effort made to get these served. 2. 75% of the wedding chose a steak entree, which was a bit overcooked. I understand when serving a large group it's difficult to cook on the rare side, but the meat generally seemed too well done. 3. The dessert table was relegated to a corner and many guests never saw where the sweets were being served. This was done to ensure the dessert table would be close to the kitchen, but I might have liked a better recommendation on this placement. Overall, I enjoyed my experience working with Entertaining Co and would definitely recommend them to brides that want to offer a more elevated catering spread.
