Heather and Jules were great! I had used their day of coordination services and Jules was great to work with and very responsive! I butt-dialed her and she immediately texted me back asking if I needed something. Jules made everything super relaxing and everything ran so smoothly. I honestly was on the fence about getting a Day of Coordinator, but Event DOC changed my mind. they are 100% worth it.
Heather & Event DOC came recommended from multiple friends of mine who used their services for their wedding day. Heather was so easy to work with, extremely communicative and helpful with any questions that came up, and 100% kept us on track on our wedding day. We could not have pulled off everything without her help - she thought through every detail and made it so that we did not have to worry about anything (logistics, decorating the venue, etc.) on our wedding day.
We are so thankful for Heather & Event DOC's help and highly recommend using their services for your special event. Heather was so thoughtful - she even helped make sure all the disposable cameras we had purchased were getting used and was capturing photos of us & wedding guests throughout the night. I started talking to Heather shortly after getting engaged in 2020. Our conversations were sporadic throughout 2021 all the way until I finally booked in 2022. My only regret is I didn't book sooner! She was nothing short of a godsend. The day went without a hitch, she kept my kids (and we have A LOT OF THEM) in line and really championed my husband and I's needs the entire day. I cannot think of one thing that went wrong and that is ALL because of Heather and the amazing work that she does. Thank you so so much. If you are looking for a sign, this review is it. Book them, NOW!
Hiring Cassidy was easily the best decision we made in the planning of our wedding. She was so much more than a “day of coordinator” and really was there to help us from the start of the planning process to the end of the wedding. She helped us come up with a timeline, helped me to recognize any minor details we needed to plan for, helped keep things moving on the wedding day, brought clear umbrellas in case of rain, helped to set up our dessert bar, made sure everyone was where they needed to be and when, answered several questions from guests, offered planning advice or suggestions, and did so many other things “behind the scenes” to ensure our day went as smooth as possible. She truly was the best. She was also 100% on our side and really went above and beyond to ensure my husband and I had a wonderful day. She was also a tremendous help gathering everything we needed at the end of the night including left over food, photos, my dress, flowers, etc. She even took a few photos and videos throughout the night which I loved. I literally don’t know that I could ever adequately thank her or ever fully put into words how helpful she was. Save yourself some major planning headaches and stress by hiring yourself a day of coordinator, and I would recommend Cassidy to anyone!!
Heather Chavez, with the Event Doc STL, was the absolute BEST! During the planning process and on the actual wedding day, Heather was organized, responsive, and so helpful. The wedding day could not have been more perfect and I truly have Heather to thank for that. My husband and I had nothing to worry about and we were able to enjoy our day from start to finish. Thank you Heather! I highly recommend Event Doc STL if you are in need of a wedding planner. She even brought cookies to our room after the reception!
Hiring a wedding planner is an absolute MUST! And we cannot recommend Heather enough!! Her expertise and experience helped me make decisions throughout the planning process and having her there day of is 100% the reason our day ran so smoothly! Hiring a wedding coordinator was probably the best thing we did when we started planning our wedding, and Heather surpassed all expectations we had. She helped us navigate the process of planning and executing our perfect day, reassuring us every step of the way. She gave us amazing vendor recommendations, made sure everything was coordinated and ready to go the week before the wedding, and truly made the majority of the pre-wedding stress go away. I cannot put into words how thankful we were to have Heather - she is so professional and organized and we knew we were in good hands. And on top of all of that, she is just an incredibly nice and kind person who is a true joy to be around. Thank you, Heather, for helping us plan the best day ever!
To all Nearlyweds:
I put off writing this review of Event DOC (today is exactly nine months post-wedding) because I have struggled with how to put into words the AMAZING work of Heather and her Event DOC team. Even now as I sit to write this, I don’t quite know if I’ll be able to communicate how great they are, but I’m going to try!
First, my mom and I initially met with Cassidy and Heather to discuss my plans for the wedding and how they might be able to offer support. My mom and I left the meeting knowing that we definitely wanted to hire them them for the following reasons: they were friendly and professional; they asked great questions that gently pushed us to consider logistics we wouldn’t have thought of on our own; and, they were enthusiastic about helping my now-husband and I have exactly the kind of wedding we wanted.
Heather ended up being our go-to for wedding planning, and she was a rock star. Leading up to the big day, I had a few planning calls with her (I live out-of-state and was getting married just outside STL). She helped me strategize and keep my ducks in a row, all the while being a warm, reassuring presence. My fiance felt the same when he joined some of the calls closer to our wedding day. However, wedding weekend was when Heather really shined.
Our wedding took place at an old barn on family property that my relatives were converting to an event venue. We were the first people to be married there. As happens during construction, things took longer than expected. My relatives and the construction crews had to scramble to finish everything up and were still working on the barn the morning of the wedding. We had to rearrange the seating chart at the last minute when we discovered the tables didn’t fit the floor plan. My dad and brother-in-law were pouring concrete the day before the wedding. My little cousins cleaned up construction dust in the bathrooms. Additionally, the weekend ended up being really rainy, and we had to make another last-minute adjustment to have the ceremony inside the barn. However, the whole time, despite the changes and uncertainties, we felt confident and calm because we knew we were in good hands with Heather. Because we had seen how organized and prepared she was throughout the whole planning process, we trusted that she’d make sure everything went smoothly. She did that, and so much more. (I’d also like to thank Colleen and the bartenders from Event DOC who also contributed to a day that was so fun and worry-free for us!)
My husband and I look back at our wedding day and feel so grateful for Heather’s friendliness and diplomatic assertiveness. One of Heather’s strengths was tactfully taking charge of situations in which decisions needed to be made or people needed direction. She clearly understands the delicate nature of family and friend relationships and that emotions can run high during wedding time. For my husband and I, this was an invaluable asset during our wedding weekend. For example, our pushy DJ ended up needing to be reined in at times, and Heather skillfully navigated those difficult conversations so that my husband and I could focus on having fun and enjoying the company of our guest. Thank you, Heather!!
Needless to say, I loved having Heather on our wedding planning team and cannot recommend her and Event DOC highly enough.
Cassidy literally helped me stay sane during my wedding planning. She helped me keep me on schedule. She was willing to help give honest opinions on what she thought would work and what would work better. She made a conscious effort to not only get to know what I wanted but also to get to know me. She anticipated what she thought I would feel is stressful and went above and beyond to make it less stressful. The day of my wedding went as smoothly as possible. Tonie came the end of my wedding to help and was phenomenal. My parents can’t say enough about how organized and helpful she was. I would recommend either of them to any bride.
Choosing Event Doc was the single best choice I made for my wedding (Well, my husband selection was pretty spot-on, too). Heather was exceptional and took all anxiety out of my day. She handled an unexpected downpour (and, thus, venue change), ripped wedding dress, broken wedding earrings, transportation confusion, bridesmaid dress fiasco and day-of schedule changes like a champ. I didn’t have to worry about a single thing other than being present on the most wonderful day of my life. Her kindness, professionalism, creativity and exceptional communication skills made any day-of mishaps seem inconsequential. I would absolutely recommend this team to any couple looking to put your most important day in the hands of someone who treats the day as important as her own wedding.
Working with Heather leading up to and on our wedding day was the BEST decision we made during planning. She was incredible at making recommendations, sending us lists of vendors to consider, keeping up with the timeline and ensuring all of the little details of the day were taken care of. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed that day and gave us the ability to enjoy the special moments that come along with a wedding. We would recommend Heather in a heartbeat! She was so personable, organized and just an all-around life-saver!

We just had Heather as our wedding coordinator. She was a fantastic "day of" coordinator! She met with us beforehand, and answered lots of questions preparing for the event, and gave us great references for different vendors. She was super calm, had great vibes and handled the day of perfectly from keeping the day moving to seamlessly taking care of any problems without issue and taking any and all stress off of us so we could enjoy our day. I personally don’t have the words to describe my experience with Heather because words do not feel sufficient enough to express how grateful I am for her. She was the force behind my wedding and ensuring that my day was perfect, and it was beyond perfect. Working with Heather alleviated so much my stress and anxiety from the wedding process for me. As a first time bride, I was clueless and scared. She was always a phone call away, quick with email responses (even when I would email her at 1 am because something was on my mind) and she took all of the stress out of my day and ensured it was perfect. You would be a making a mistake not to hire her for your wedding! She was the best part of my day because she made it her mission for me to have the best day. Thank you, Heather!
Heather and Cassidy are fabulous! We live in California and were planning our wedding in STL. We knew that we wanted a DOC to help us with coordinating vendors and figuring out some of the logistics since planning from out of state gets a bit tricky. They were incredibly helpful along the way! They met with us a few times when we were in town and really had a great understanding of what we wanted our wedding day to be. The planning forms they gave us were also super helpful. As stressful as wedding planning can be, it is so much easier when your DOC keeps reassuring you that she is there for whatever you need. Heather ran our rehearsal and helped our first time officiant out with arranging the ceremony. She helped coordinate our vendors, calm anxious family members, set up, and pack up at the end of the night. I cannot tell you how calm and stress free this made the whole day of the wedding. It was so nice that no one felt like they needed to rush to the venue to set up decor. I explained to her what I was thinking and she made sure it all got set up in a way and brought to life. It made the day so smooth not only for us but also for our family members. We were able to relax and spend time together getting ready and enjoying the day. We can’t thank her enough for making our wedding day so easy on our end and so enjoyable! The day really does fly by and having someone that you trust to handle logistics really lets you relax and soak it all in without worrying about the extra stuff.
