We hosted our wedding reception at event1013 and we can't imagine having had it anywhere else! This venue is so beautiful with all of its original details, and it was easy to figure out a floorplan that worked for our wedding through our meetings with the owners. We also rented tables and place settings through the venue, and it was such a breeze - it really saved us a lot of energy while planning our wedding. It's also worth noting that our wedding was originally scheduled to take place in 2020 and had to be moved due to the pandemic. The team at event1013 was very understanding and easy to work with, and we moved everything to the next year without a problem! I highly recommend working with event1013 for your next event!
Beautiful venue! Everyone loved the vibe! Compliments from all the guests!
Where to begin?! Our wedding was back in October of 2017. I actually discovered event1013 not too long before I was engaged while spending time in downtown Plano with a friend. Fast forward a few months, when it was time to find a venue I remembered them. My husband and I were looking for an urban-style venue that also had bit of character, but also wouldn't use up our entire wedding budget. After the first tour we got such a good feeling about the space and the staff. We loved the style, the history of the space, the caterer kitchen, the ability to use their sound system, an actual bridal suite, rental items, and all other services/amenities available. We, especially, loved that we could have our ceremony in a separate space than the reception. We felt that the Raw Garden room, with the wall of candles and a greenery wall, was special and perfect for the ceremony. The main room for the reception was great, especially with the use of the antique furniture. We received so many compliments about the venue itself that night and afterwards. Overall our experience working with the staff, from the very beginning with the first phone call to schedule a tour to the mid-planning email exchanges to the very end, was wonderful! We couldn't have chosen a better place for our wedding!
I had my wedding here on March 11th 2018 and I can honestly say everything about this venue is AMAZING! The staff is absolutely wonderful and extremely helpful with planning! We had our ceremony and reception here and it was beautiful. The venue has an awesome list of vendors they recommed that really made planning everything so much easier. They also have an amazing bridal suite behind the venue that offered plenty of room for my bridesmaids and I to get ready in! I highly recommend this venue for any event!!
event1013 is such an amazing venue with rich history. Our wedding planner used those elements to embrace the warm inviting feeling you get from the venue for our ceremony and reception. It was so beautiful! The grid wall makes for a fabulous backdrop for the ceremony, especially when it is lit with candles! The entire staff was awesome and patient with all the moving parts we had with a full day rental and a large wedding.
I LOVE event1013! such a beautiful place to have a wedding. The staff is amazing too. It's cheap and youre able to rent items you are wanting rather than wasting money buying stuff you won't need the day after your wedding.
it also comes with a VIP bride suite for you to get ready in,
its in the heart of downtown Plano in such a cute little street.
I highly recommend this venue
This venue is exactly what we were looking for our ceremony and reception venue. The staff is great and were very helpful the day of for setup. Also, it's a great venue for those looking to save on costs since you can choose any vendor for catering and can bring in your own alcohol. The only downside is that they are booked constantly so setup and rehearsal was kinda tight.
Event 1013 was so helpful in guiding us though our event planning process! The staff was amazing and the venue itself is charming! The brick walls, wood flooring and cozy feel made for a fantastic evening. Parker Women's Club had their fundraising event on St Patrick's Day with dinner, dancing and a Raffle! It was a great success due to the help of Melissa and the rest of the staff! We will definitely be back next year!!
This venue is AMAZING. Denise and Melissa helped me figure out so much before the wedding; they gave me ideas and helped me find vendors. The location is great with exposed brick walls and an amazing grid wall in the back. We had a small wedding (85 people), but the place can fit up to 120 people.
Event1013 is SO much more affordable than almost every other place in the DFW area, which is part of the reason we chose them. They have pretty much everything there for rent: table cloth options, plates, forks, decorations, etc... All at cheaper prices than other vendors that come in!
Event 1013 was gave me the best experience for my wedding day. They always communicated well with me and helped accommodate my every need! Denise the day of coordinator was always available and was so helpful! Melissa did an awesome job helping my decor dreams come to life! I could not be happier with my experience with them. I would definitely recommend them and recommend every bride to pay a little extra for the decor clean-up service! I loved being able to leave and pick up my decor the next day with all the items neatly packed in boxes for me. I could not have asked for a better team to help make my my big day as smooth as possible.
I had my wedding reception at Event 1013 in March and everything turned out just as I'd hoped. The staff was helpful in planning the details for my reception, especially Melissa. I am a planner so I had anxiety leaving the final set up and coordination to someone else but everything was perfect. The Event 1013 staff made sure the caterers, bartenders, DJ, florist and cake were all set up with everything they needed and the space looked gorgeous for my reception. I have already recommended the space to others looking for a reception space.
It has been almost one year since our wedding. I feel like enough time has passed so that I can give a more accurate, less heated review.
The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. As far as the venue goes, I don't feel like we could have picked a more gorgeous venue that felt very "us."
Unfortunately, to get the wonderful venue, we had to deal with some not-so-wonderful people. Cory, who walked us around during our first tour, was great. Very informative and friendly. However, after our initial tour, we did not deal with Cory again and were left to deal with a very unpleasant employee (I guess she was a planner? Coordinator? Whatever.) She was outright rude to my mother on multiple occasions. Information we were given was contradicted almost every time we met or asked questions. This employee treated us like dirt. Luckily for her, I was a very laid-back bride who did not completely freak out when we kept getting false information. They try to act like all of these wonderful amenities are "included" when in fact, they charge you for every little thing they can. We brought in our own food and were not told about a kitchen "deposit" until our last meeting before the wedding. (By the way event1013, it's not a "deposit" if there's no way of getting it back... that's called a "fee." Which would have been fine if we had been given this information before we booked the venue.)
During our wedding, an employee was assigned to monitor and basically just be there in case something went wrong. She was absolutely the most useless "monitor" ever. When it was time for dancing, the music was not loud AT ALL. I had to ask for her help in turning up the volume for the premium sound package that we OVERPAID for. She looked at me like she had no clue what I was talking about. She basically sat in the back until it was time for her to leave. We also OVERPAID for a lighting package that was a complete waste of money. I, in my wedding dress, ended up having to fix the audio for our music.
After our wedding, we were charged for candle wax getting on one of the venue's cheap chairs. We were charged more than what the chair was even worth.
Overall, the venue is beautiful and I am so glad we chose it as our backdrop for the most important night of our lives. I do wish the employees had been more helpful. Being upfront with clients about all costs and "rules" is a MUST when owning a venue. It is a shame that such a beautiful venue is run by such incompetent people. If I could go back, I would probably have shopped around for a similar style venue, but with a more helpful staff.
The venue is GORGEOUS! I would never dream of having my wedding somewhere else.
However, the staff is hard to reach. They never answer their phones when you call and you'll end up playing phone-tag for weeks.
It is typical for venues to charge for all the "extras", however, event1013 charges for extra time in the bridal suite. You are only given 2 hours, extra time costs more. What bride and bridal party can get ready, take pictures, and freshen up in two hours?! That was my biggest complaint. AND they make you pack up your stuff and clear out the suite before the wedding starts. So before my ceremony the bridal party was frantically gathering and packing their things, instead of relaxing and preparing for the ceremony!
My husband and I used this venue for our wedding reception. While the location is beautiful, the service is the very opposite. We received multiple complaints from the other businesses involved in the reception and family members. My husband and I both had to leave multiple messages over several days to get a walk-through/meeting. During meetings, some of the same questions from previous meetings/conversations were asked and we had to remind her that we had already gone over that. She would promise to email us required paperwork, but wouldn't follow through. The day of the reception, we had 2 different "wedding directors". One stayed for the 1st half, and the other for the 2nd half. Our caterer entered the back of the building w/ the food 30 min. early to set up,but was told that he wasn't allowed to,even though there wasn't another event taking place. We paid the fee to have alcohol during the event. As my mom & in-laws were bringing in the alcohol, the employee in charge of our event began yelling at them about the alcohol not being there yet and demanding to know where it was. When my mom tried to explain, the employee continued yelling at her. When my wedding planner was decorating, the employee started complaining about the decorations not being put up yet. We were told from the beginning that the employee in charge of the event was only in charge of watching the event to ensure none of the rules were broken, not our timeline or decorating. We were charged for things we weren't informed of and for things we didn't use/ask for. The family members that cleaned up afterwards were asked to leave when we ran 20 min late, even though we were allowed to pay for an extra hour if we ran over. The items left from the reception were moved out to the front curb and some of them lost. I have never seen such horrible customer service. The 2 stars are for the appearance of the venue. This beautiful venue needs a new owner and management!
This venue was perfect for our 70 guests, and we got so many compliments on the space. It felt intimate but not crowded and created the perfect atmosphere for dancing. We couldn't have asked for a better space for our wedding, and the street has shops and bars where our guests could hang out before and after. Perfect situation!
Favorite parts: ceremony and reception in one venue, no stipulations on what vendors you can use but they have some great suggestions, great antique furniture at your disposal, apartment out back to use (but only during your rented time), a/v equipment and screen for slideshow already in place, and responsive staff.
If you're having a night wedding, your photographers will need to bring lights/flashes because it's pretty dark. The chairs and tables are very basic, but come with the rental so if you don't care too much, it's one extra rental to cross off your list.
I loved my wedding at event1013. It is a beautiful setting (and indoors, which is important in Texas!). Aimee was great to work with, and always had helpful ideas for us. We used their set-up and take-down services, which made it a lot easier on my family, who was helping decorate. If I had to choose again, I would choose event1013.
We worked closely with Aimee from event 1013 and they were AWESOME! They really worked with us to achieve the look and feel we wanted to for the space. Not only that, but they allowed our adorable dog to attend the wedding and the rehearsal!
The venue is wonderful and is such a beautiful space. Growing up in Plano, I saw the building transform and can honestly say that the work they have done with the space is perfect and suits it so well. We opted to have one of the large garage windows in the front open during our reception and I loved that aspect – it really helped the space feel more open and brought just enough of the outdoor ambience inside.
We had about 100 guests and the size was perfect and their prices are so reasonable. For anyone wanting to get married in a beautiful, historic space in Plano, I highly recommend event 1013.
I didnt have much interaction with them during the event. before and after the staff was always easy to deal with and friendly. This venue was the perfect setting for our wedding.
My experience was pretty good overall. I wish they had done a little more coordinating with the DJ (we had some issues with the music for the ceremony). The DJ was not informed where he needed to set up to play the music for the ceremony. Otherwise everything was great. Everyone loved the venue. I would recommend it to other brides.
We had a very positive experience. Management was helpful and everyone loved the location! Positives: wooden furniture in the space, add on services like Takedown Service or Next Day Pickup, atmosphere, and flexibility to be creative in the space. Negatives: HUGE projection white wall (we tried to drown it out using a black background PowerPoint monogram), dark (our videographer had to use lights a lot for shooting), blue tree lights (they have small trees with blue lights inside that are really tacky and you have to pay to have them stored for your event), and the tables/chairs (they provide them for the space but their tables were too small and chairs look cheap and uncomfortable so we rented from outside).
Event1013 was absolutely perfect for our wedding and reception! We couldn't have had better service from Deborah and Aimee, both of whom made it a point to help make everything work for our taste, needs and wants. They made our day run smoothly, without any problems! The space itself is amazing, with an incredible modern spin on an antique building, perfect for many different decorating styles. You can really make it your own. It was also very convenient to have tables, chairs and linens available to us as well. It was perfect for our 150 guests, bar, cake table, and buffet in the Raw Garden room in the back. It is such a good place for weddings and receptions, or any party (I've been to a birthday party there also), and I love all of the picture ops inside and out in the downtown area. I could not have had a better venue to have our wedding! Thank you!
Venue was beautiful. There are a few small cathes, such as parking is tricky, some of their clean up rules are bizarre, but the building itself and interior have a ton of character and charm!!!
My husband and I searched high and low to find a wedding venue that would both complement our style and budget. Once we stepped into Event 1013 we both knew that this was the place for us! It is a beautiful historical building that sits in the heart of downtown Plano. The high ceilings, exposed brick walls, insets for votives, luxurious bathrooms, and raw wooden feature in the garden room beautifully combine historical elegance with modern flair. The natural beauty allows for very minimal decorating (which saves money for your overall budget!).
With the rich historical significance and beautiful atmosphere, you really can't get much better for the extremely reasonable price (compared to all the other venues we looked at). They provide flatware, linens, dishes, drinkware, and decorations that you can rent for low prices. Also, having the option of doing both the ceremony and reception at the same place saved us money as well. We had between 80-90 guest and did the ceremony (in the garden room) and reception at the site. It was very comfortable and cozy, we had just the right amount of people. However, I would suggest no more than 100 guest if you are wanting to do the ceremony and reception there.
The staff are amazing! They are very flexible and helpful with every aspect from figuring out the floor plan to answering any questions about decorations, vendors, etc. My bridesmaids and I were able to use the bridal loft 2 hours before the ceremony started, and the on-site staff was very flexible when it cam time to clear our stuff out of the loft. We were also able to use any outside vendors we wanted, but if you have liquor you must have a licensed bartender that is insured.
I would recommend Event1013 to anyone looking for a beautifully historic and chic venue to hold any type of party!
It was amazing. I couldn't have imagined having my reception any where else. It fit our style perfectly. Aimee was fantastic!
Grwat experience working with Amy & the venue. Our guest had tons of complements on the unique feel of the place. There are some great antique pieces of furniture available for use & some touches that help make any event thir special.
My husband and I had been looking for a location that would provide him with an historical feel but satisfy my attempt for a more modern vibe.
We had an intimate wedding of about 50 people and this venue was fantastic to host both the ceremony and reception.
The bridal suite that they offered is right behind the venue and a nice addition to your rental at no additional cost.
They offered fantastic pricing compared to other venues in the area. In the agreement, it states that your security deposit will be returned within 30 days if no damage occurs--we received ours back in less than one week.
Aimee and Deborah are extremely easy to work with and got back to my emails/calls pretty quickly. Aimee even provided vendor suggestions when I asked for help. They'll allow you to use any vendor and offer several times throughout the week for walk-throughs, etc.
The venue itself is beautiful! Hardwood floors and exposed brick provide lots of character. There are insets along the brick walls for you to add your own candles or accents to your wedding themes. Additional insets are found in the walls between the main room and raw garden area. Several other areas are available for you to add your own touch/theme. The antique furniture and tables are provided to you at no additional cost. Plus, the antique furniture can be moved to wherever you wish within the venue. The buffet piece is fantastic! They also have tablecloths and glassware available to rent at VERY low rates. Finally, the projection wall is a fantastic backdrop to run video or a picture slideshow throughout your dinner. We decided to project our logo most of the night.
Our guests kept complimenting us on how unique the venue was and how beautiful it was on its own. It fit our personalities perfectly--no need to buy a ton of extra decorations to fill the room like you'd have to in a hotel ballroom. Just a few pieces here and there and the room looks full and our pictures turned out great.
We held our ceremony back in the raw garden area and our pictures look absolutely breathtaking with the 100 candles along the grid wall in the background.
The location is in the heart of the downtown Plano square with the rustic brick roads and perfect backdrop for photos. We have several beautiful shots of us on the train tracks right near by.
We are so happy that we chose event1013 for our wedding and highly recommend this venue if you're looking for something a little bit different but BEAUTIFUL!
This place was perfect for my wedding and reception! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! All of my guests were commenting on how unique and fun this venue is. The original brick walls and hard wood floors create an atmosphere you won't find anywhere else in Plano. And the antique furniture they supply for you is just beautiful.
Event1013 is a great venue for the bride that wants a blank slate. It is a very unique venue that doesn't need decor. It's beautiful as is. They allow you to use any vendor. It was the best priced venue I could find between Plano, Denton and McKinney.
This facility was perfect for my reception! It was so beautiful and laid back. The only thing is...my husband and I paid for an extra hour so that our friends and family could stay a little longer and dance but once we got in our getaway car the facility manager started clearing people out. Telling our guests that they needed to clear out the space. After we paid and extra $156 to have an extra hour! It seemed as though everywhere we turned there was an extra $200 or $300 we were shelling out. Also me and my bridesmaids only had the "Bridal lounge" an hour before the wedding. They wouldn't let us in any earlier.
I loved my wedding it was the best day of my life and I am glad that we used Event1013, I just wish someone would have let me know what to expect!
I had my wedding ceremony and reception at event1013. When I walked in I knew immediately that this was THE place to have my wedding. It is rustic, traditional, and sophisticated. Besides having the perfect lay out, I loved the brick walls, the tiny insets for votive candles, tall ceilings, wood floors, and a cool buffett that can be moved from one area to another. I was a little worried at first to see the kitchen and bathroom, thinking that they too would have a "rustic" feel! :) I was so wrong! They have an updated kitchen (with plates/utensils/glasses to rent) and very nice, updated, and modern restrooms. They also have a nice little sitting area between the main area and the garden room AND a VIP loft available for the bride. It was so nice to have a place to get ready that was right across from the venue. And the loft was decorated nicely and was comfortable. The pictures for my wedding turned out beautifully and I feel like a lot of that is because of our venue. Our guests still comment on how elegant and sophisticated our venue was - I highly recommend celebrating your special day here!!
I could not have asked for a better place for my reception. I grew up in Plano so it was a perfect mix of modern/traditional space. I loved the fact that they were flexible in our decorating and the trendy look of it all.
My husband and I had a destination wedding in Mexico and decided that we wanted to throw a party at home in Dallas when we returned. I had looked around Dallas for a great reception site and all I saw was the same old thing, either a ranch or a ballroom...I wanted something cool, modern and interesting that still felt like Texas (and was in a great location). We were so pleasantly surprised to find the brand new event1013!! We called Deborah(the owner), visited that afternoon and booked on the spot. It is gorgeous! It's in the heart of downtown Plano so it has that great old-school Texas feel.
Everything form the exposed brick to the beautiful bathrooms, the indoor garden in the back...everything is tasteful. They made efforts in their renovation of an old historic building to keep things as green as possible--a big plus!
The whole team is great to work with, they're accommodating and helpful...they are proud of their space and it shows. If you're having a wedding, there is also a loft space that you can rent so that you can get ready on-site (it's gorgeous)!
Obviously, I feel like I can't say enough great things about event1013. If you're looking for a cool place to throw a party, a wedding, a rehearsal dinner...anything, this is a perfect spot. Our guests kept commenting on what a gem this place was.
Thank you for opening an event space like this in Dallas! PS--it has been featured on SMP and brides went nuts over the venue! :)
