We worked with Eventioneers for a backyard wedding at the family home, renting a tent and tables, chairs, and linens from them. The rental process and set up was straightforward and professionally done. We had to change our plans a few days before the wedding and put the tent in the front instead of the backyard and the team was able to accommodate this and worked with us during set up to make sure we were happy with the placement. The tent was solid and held up to a couple thunderstorms. The furniture and linens were in good condition.
A couple disappointing customer service experiences: when we asked for chairs, they never checked with us on options. The ones they initially quoted were much fancier than the simple folding chairs we had envisioned and budgeted for. We had to call back and ask if they had anything more affordable. It felt a little sneaky.
Worse, during tent pick up, we are pretty confident the team damaged a utility wire with their truck. We had been in and out of the house all morning and early afternoon taking out post-celebration trash and returning unused beverages and decor. About 1-1.5 hours after returning from errands, the Eventioneers team came to pick up the tent. My husband went out to see if they needed anything and they said they were good, so they knew we were at home. We didn’t hear from them again so assumed everything was good. Another 1.5-2 hours after they left, we took the dog out for a walk and noticed that a snapped utility line was coiled up on top of our trash bins and also at the base of the pole in our neighbor’s yard. We called the Eventioneers emergency line and wrote an email to report what had happened. I didn’t receive an email until the next day and was told I should hear back by the end of that day. It wasn’t until the end of the following day that I received another email saying that without any video evidence of their team snapping with the line they would be unable to apologize or assist with repair. Because it had taken two days for them to get back to us and because it was a downed utility line, my parents had already brought in the police and figured out that it was an old telephone line. Fortunately, Verizon removed it for free, but we were quite disappointed with Eventioneers’ response to the incident. It was a surprisingly slow response to what seemed to us a potentially dangerous piece of property damage and it seemed that, basically, if everyone on the team denies knowledge of damage then there is literally nothing the customer can do if they don’t have video evidence of the damage occurring. The only other explanation for the line being downed would be some other large truck pulling into our driveway. Given that we noticed the Eventioneers team ha arrived to pick up because we heard the truck from inside, we think this is incredibly unlikely. Eventioneers themselves were unable to produce any other explanation of how it might have happened.
In summary: rentals were of good quality, set up was a professional process; check if the quote seems high to see if they have neglected to mention a more affordable option and watch them like a hawk during the ENTIRE time they are accessing your property, from vehicle arrival to final departure.
