Do we really need a Wedding Coordinator? This is one of the most commonly asked questions with newly engaged couples. With that said, let me ask you: “would you attend a theater play that didn’t have a Director?” Obviously not! Why? Because without a Director there would be no direction. Actors wouldn’t know what to do, music and lights wouldn’t know their cue and it would just be a mess! So why would you plan a wedding that you’re investing lots of money in without professional help or someone to at least manage the
Day-of so it doesn’t fall all on you or a parent??
We are here to help tie everything you have been planning months for - all together! We are here to answer questions, help guide you, refer you to amazing vendors, manage your entire day so that most importantly YOU and your family could enjoy it to the fullest! We work hand in hand with you so that we know every detail pertaining to your wedding, put together your timeline, manage and oversee all of your hired vendors and manage any mishaps that should arise on your special day.
With a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, over 16 years of Wedding industry experience including Venue & Catering coordinator positions, fluent in both Spanish & English; not only do we have the tools to help you plan and coordinate your wedding, but also have the creativity, scheduling, vendor negotiating and visual understanding to turn your ideas into a reality.
Events by J.Design is very well known for our Month of Coordinator services (formerly known as Day of Wedding) but offer a few extra services to help our clients. We also offer full Wedding Planning services, Destination Wedding Planning services, Staffing services if you are in need of set up or servers, and Quinceañera/Sweet 16 Day of Coordinating services. We do not limit the amount of times you contact us once booked, if you have a question - we have an answer for you! We also have a large list of Amazing vendors we have worked with that would be more than happy to assist you on your special day! We are located in Oswego, IL but we serve the surrounding suburbs, Chicago-land area and destination or out of state weddings.

We are so glad we hired Jessica for our day of coordinator! She was not only perfectly bilingual, but also took over all of the details we really cared about and did not have to stress over. Her communication was top notch with us and all of our vendors. We highly recommend her services!
Jessica was hands down, the absolute best to work with! She is very professional , detail oriented & just amazing at what she does! We could not have had our wedding go as seamless as it did without her. From start to finish, she made sure every little detail was figured out and communicated very clearly what she needed to ensure an amazing day for us! Our entire outdoor wedding/cocktail hour was rained out. She worked effortlessly to give us the wedding we wanted while moving things indoors . It was absolutely beautiful and perfect. She not only provided a service to our wedding, but truly felt like she was a friend/family. She is very experienced and we would recommend her for your wedding or event. You’ll have many decisions to make and you will 100% want her to be one of them!!!
STRESS FREE. So so WORTH IT!! I couldn’t be happier with hiring Events by J. Design. My daughter’s Quince party was well organized and everyone just had positive things to say at the end of the party. As the mom of the Quinceañera, I was able to fully enjoy the party, STRESS FREE. My daughter, and I, as well as close relatives were all very satisfied with the services Events by J. Design provided. My daughter still mentions how memorable her day was and how everything was well taken care of and had no worries, thanks to Jessica. Jessica took care of everything from the biggest to the smallest detail of the event. We have attended other Quince celebrations after my daughter’s party and we have witnessed the stress and chaos it causes when there isn’t someone coordinating the celebration. My daughter and I are so thankful we hired Events by J. Design, it was so so so worth it. We will be hiring Jessica again for any of our future big celebrations and we recommend her to all of our family and friends who are looking for an event coordinator expert.
We hired Events by J.Design 2 weeks prior to our wedding day! Yes, 2 weeks! I initially had a friend who offered to be our Wedding Planner and claimed to know what she was doing and 2 weeks prior to my wedding day - canceled on us! Our venue referred us to Jessica from Events by J.Design and I was desperate. Jessica stated that planning would be very tight and required a lot of information from us but would guide us through it all....and that's exactly what she did! We had nothing previously for our wedding from my friend. As soon as Jessica was onboard, she immediately created our timeline and contacted all of our vendors. She planned all of our logistics immediately and asked us questions we hadn't even thought of. She definitely knows everything for weddings and we quickly realized how well she's also known within the industry as some of our vendors recognized her. We event had a couple vendors praise her and tell us how good she was for making their job so easy! I only wish I would've hired her sooner!
It was my husband and my first Quinceañera for our oldest daughter and we had no clue as to what we were supposed to do. We have attended Quinceañera's before - but planning one was a first for us. While browsing on a Facebook Quince group, I encountered Jessica from Event by J.Design. She offered Day of Quinceañera services and I inquired to speak with her to obtain more information. She explained and walked me through the meaning of a Quinceañera as well as what each special represents. She was so well informed! She also mentioned she would handle everything and all logistics the day of and that we wouldn't have to worry about anything. At first, my husband was a little apprehensive about the service (mainly because we kept adding more things to spend) but I loved the idea of not having to be the point person on the day of and not have to worry about anything - eventually he gave in and we hired her. Let me tell you, that was one of THE BEST decisions!! We honestly did not have to worry about anything!! She made sure we were on schedule - which is very difficult to do for hispanic families - but Jessica being hispanic herself, navigated that very well!! She set up and broke down for us and handled every detail. We got to enjoy every minute of our daughters Quinceañera!! If you are debating - take my word, hire her NOW and enjoy your event! Best decision EVER!
I hired Events by J.Design for my daughter’s Quince this year. I want to start off by saying they exceeded my expectations!! They made my day stress free and I was able to attend my event without any worries:) They made sure that every detail we discussed was put into place. We hired Events by J.Design for Full Wedding Planning. We have a very busy schedule and wedding planning was going to be very difficult for us. Our first encounter was a phone call with Jessica whom from the beginning over the phone sounded so knowledgeable about the wedding industry. She was so informative from the beginning and so we hired her. We had multiple in-person meetings with her. She made the wedding planning process so smooth and flawless - we did not have much to worry about. Jessica heard everything we were asking for, guided us and booked all of our vendors. She understood what was impotant to us and gave her advice. She handled all of the logistics and questions our vendors had, the timeline, the family and bridal party. On the day of our wedding she took an assistant with her, they handled all of our decor set up, made sure we remained on schedule and that ultimately we got to enoy the day. I honestly do not know what our wedding would've been without her! We highly recommend Jessica and her team!
Jessica was the best wedding planner! She truly knows what she is doing! She helped me reach my vision and make sure all my wishes came true. She reached out to all vendors and made sure everything ran smoothly which was a weight off my shoulders. She helped me get organized and ensured I did not forget the smallest detail. WHERE DO I BEGIN?!? Jessica is AMAZING AT HER CRAFT! Literally felt like she was an angel that perfected my day!!!! She did not miss a beat! When I tell you that she is so organized and thorough… is the bare minimum of what I can say! Honestly if it weren’t for her, I definitely would have lost it while planning for the wedding and especially the day of 😂. The day goes by soooo quick and she was so helpful with keeping us on schedule, keeping everyone organized for photos and helped everything go smooth and flawless!! Jessica was the best wedding planner!! She started working with us 2 months before the actual ceremony, and she reviewed all contracts that we had signed earlier. She took full control to make sure that everything was well prepared for our big day. On our actual wedding day she took care of EVERYTHING, and I was able to fully enjoy my wedding with no stress of the behind the scenes operations. 10/10 we would recommend her every time!

On the day of our wedding, Jessica was there bright and early with us while we got ready and was the last one to leave the venue at the end of the night. I truly don’t think I could list all she did for us on the day of but to name a few things, she assisted with decor setup, met with vendors as they arrived, and ensured we were sticking to our timeline. Any issues that arose throughout the day were swiftly taken care of. She handled everything effortlessly. We highly recommend Jessica!!!
Words can not express how wonderful Jessica was as our wedding planner! She was so organized and supportive thru the entire process. We needed a lot of guidance and Jessica made the wedding process flow very smoothly and ORGANIZED!! She reviewed vendor contracts and made sure we were aware of all aspects of our special day. As an entertainer I appreciate planners who are first & foremost HIGHLY detailed. This is J.Design. JESSICA WAS A LIFE SAVER!!!! Jessica is 1000% worth it to have coordinating your wedding day!! Our wedding day was so smooth and so stress free I was like what are people talking about when they say the day of is stressful! Haha!! Jessica is a rockstar she had everything we needed and knew what to do about every situation that came up! She made sure everyone was in the loop and where they needed to be at what time. I was so stressed leading up to the month of my wedding but when Jessica took over I finally was able to get excited and relax the month of and the day of!! She is extremely experienced in the wedding world which was amazing since I knew nothing about anything wedding related! She was our best decision we made for our wedding! Book with her!
We booked with Events by J Design as our wedding coordinator and absolutely loved working with Jessica. She was extremely organized and had great communication. Jessica answered any of our questions/concerns quickly and we even had an issue with our DJ that Jessica handled with grace. My dad said “what a great job Jessica did on your wedding day! I’ve never seen a wedding as beautiful as yours.” He may be biased because he is my father but the day went smoothly and my wedding was an absolute dream thanks to Jessica. Everything ran on time and Jessica went above and beyond to make sure the day went well. Getting a wedding coordinator was so worth it!
We had our wedding back in September of 2022. We started planning our wedding thinking we could do it on our own. It started to become overwhelming and that's when we found Jessica! Jessica was instrumental in having our backyard wedding run smoothly. She had a very detailed planning checklist with things that I wouldn’t have thought of on my own. Throughout the entire planning process, Jessica was flexible with our busy work schedules, she was available to us whenever we needed advice, and she was very friendly, reasonable, and thoughtful when helping us make decisions. Having Jessica help us with the entire planning process made me feel that much more confident the day of my wedding. I knew that having her there meant things would get done correctly, on time, and exactly how I wanted it. The day of my wedding, Jessica was on time, had an incredibly detailed itinerary to keep us on schedule, and brought a very calming mood assuring me that everything was handled. The day of my wedding, Jessica reminded me to look around and take in everything that we had planned and worked on for months, I was beyond happy and impressed with the way everything came together. Jessica was truly amazing!! We are so lucky to have worked with her. After rescheduling our wedding twice due to Covid our original coordinator wasn’t available for our new date. She referred us to Jessica who immediately dived in to help us. We could not believe how quickly Jessica got to know us and learned everything about our plans. She worked exceptionally well with our other vendors and was super proactive in making sure everyone was on the same page for our big day. Jessica is extremely professional, thorough and detail oriented which we really appreciated. She was so helpful with our venue walkthrough and thought of many things we would have missed. I could go on and on about how amazing Jessica was in planning our wedding. We had the pleasure of working with Jessica for almost 3 years due to the pandemic.
Prior to the pandemic- our wedding venue suddenly closed 8 months before we were supposed to get married. I called Jessica in a panic and she had already heard and reached out to other venues about their availability. We were able to sign with a new vendor that weekend. We truly would not have been able to navigate that without her. She was also incredibly accommodating and flexible when we had to change our wedding date due to the pandemic.
As we got closer to our wedding date- she would send emails and information leading up to our day. She spoke with all of our vendors, made a timeline for the day and was available by phone/text for any questions we had.
The day off- she was invaluable. She made sure our day ran smoothly. Checked in with us often and made sure our day went the way we wanted. I even got scratched by a guest and she had a first aid kit and helped bandaged my up.
Jessica knows the wedding industry and goes above and beyond for her couples. You will not regret booking Jessica for your big day.

This wedding caused plenty of stress for us as a couple as we expected but I am SO relieved that we decided to get a planner to organize the actual day-of for us!! Jessica was so detailed, thinking of things even I forgot we needed. She broke it down in a way that made the last few weeks seem easier to accomplish and get through and she always encouraged us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We will never regret hiring Jessica! To have the whole day of the wedding to ourselves without worrying about the details and without our family members being pulled away to do things was a dream and we loved every second!!
I consider myself a very organized person but realized there was no way I could manage every little detail and person without sacrificing me fully enjoying my wedding day. I am so so thankful I came to this realization and found Events by J. Design in the process. We had the pleasure of working with Jessica (the owner) and Brenda. From the first meeting with them, they were so attentive to wants for our wedding day and helped us begin to map out and organize our to do list and wedding day timeline. They were incredibly professional and knowledgeable and best of all, experienced! They knew all the ins and outs (a lot of things I didn't even think of) and best advice for helping make the day (from bridesmaids getting ready all the way to clearing out decorations at the end of the reception) run absolutely smoothly!! Events by J. Design becomes the point person for the wedding planning and day of the wedding. Before the wedding, they have communication with all your other vendors (church, DJ, photo/video, transportation, etc.) and even make a wedding day timeline for those vendors so everyone is on the same page! It was so relieving to know that all the vendors would be moving as one team together on the day thanks to the Jessica and Brenda's leadership and detailed organization! All of our vendors were also thrilled to be working with versed wedding professionals to help the planning process move along easily. We really could not have executed our wedding and enjoyed it so much without the help of Jessica and Brenda. We are so so grateful for them and would highly recommend them to anyone because what they gave us is what we wish for every couple preparing for their wedding!
As a wedding officiant, I have learned to appreciate a fantastic wedding coordinator. I recently had the opportunity to work with Jessica and it was one of the best organized weddings at which I’ve worked! Jessica is fabulous to work with! I could not be happier in choosing Jessica! Our wedding would not have been the same without her. She was with us since 8:30 in the morning until 12:30am. Jessica made everything flow so nicely at the wedding. Everything was so organized and put together. All of the little details I would have forgotten about were taken care of. Our parents and families got to just relax, have fun, and enjoy the wedding. If you decide to choose Jessica as well, you will be making the best decision!
Jessica did an incredible job coordinating my brother's wedding. She organized a detailed plan for all to follow and walked everyone through the plan multiple times so all were thoroughly informed. On the day of the wedding she communicated effectively and kept track of all wedding participants. She quickly knew all the family members involved and ensured everyone had a good time. I would highly recommend her for future weddings.
Jessica and her team know what they are doing! She planned my friends wedding and was an expert and absolute queen directing every move. Jessica was the coordinator for my best friends wedding this past weekend, and she did a fantastic job running the show behind the scenes. Her and her assistant are very personable, she brought a basket of necessities incase someone forgot things they needed. You can instantly tell she has great experience in the wedding industry. I wish I had her for my own wedding years ago. Would highly recommend.
I can’t possibly have enough great things to say about Jessica. She is absolutely fabulous and I could not have had the most perfect wedding without her. I just got married on Saturday and I couldn’t wait to write her a review. Jessica is so detail oriented and organized and was so flexible and patient with me. I had a lot of requests and she was able to get all of them in the timeline and made them all happen on the day of! I will definitely be using Jessica again if I have another big event. Jessica has coordinated two events for us. Our wedding a few years back was the first event and most recently, this year (2021) our daughter’s quinceañera!
I throw parties all the time and have and each time I’ve said it’s so much work. When Jessica did our wedding it was great. It was a small event and it ran smoothly thanks to Jessica. She was great and we enjoyed and loved our wedding. But the true testimony’s comes years later when we celebrated our daughter’s 15th birthday. It was a bigger event, during a time where the world seemed uncertain. That’s when I really understood, right down to the core, the value Jessica brings.

I don’t even know where to begin with Jessica from Events by J.Design!! I think RIDE OR DIE sums it up.
Jessica was there with us through it all. My husband and I hired Jessica in Fall of 2019, we were supposed to get married August 2020, but due to the pandemic we got married June 2021.
Jessica was there when our venue went bankrupt and took our money in January 2020. As you can imagine I was a mess but Jessica quickly got to work and helped us find another venue.
A couple months later I was a mess again. This time it was because I had to postpone the wedding due to the pandemic. Jessica checked in often to make sure we were doing well. Again she was there through it all and reassured us that our day would come and would be perfect.
After all the craziness, my husband and I were finally able to get married in June of 2021. All I can say is that my day was perfect and Jessica had a lot to do with that. Jessica took care of things that I had no idea about. The craziest part is I didn’t find out about the little hiccups until a week later!!
Some examples:
1. Apparently, my cake was melting on one side and she made sure the cake lady came back to fix it.
2. I had a little family drama during the rehearsal/ wedding and Jessica handled it very professionally. I didn’t even certain things had happened until a week later!! (She handled it) God bless Jessica because I don’t think that’s what she signed up for and she was amazing with our family.
3. I’m so used to cleaning up after parties and I was having so much fun I forgot about it. When I realized I went to go ask my mom and she mentioned that Jessica had already picked up all of my things from my bouquet to DIY decor I had brought to the venue. The cleaning process was flawless.
4. Fourth thing- and this is for my Latina brides. I’m so used to having my mom and my aunts do things at our weddings or quinceañeras. I kid you not my mom was pretty much sitting the whole time and enjoyed the wedding because Jessica took care of everything. Even one of my mom’s friend noticed and told my mom that she was blown away that she (my mom) was able to sit and enjoy the wedding and didn’t have to do any running around.
5. The fifth and I think biggest thing is, Jessica’s timeline was perfect!! We weren’t late for anything!! (Mind you I had 10 bridesmaids) Literally everything was done on time from the hair/make up to first look.
I honestly could keep going. Jessica did so many thing that blew me away. I would recommend Jessica to anyone I know! She truly is professional, organized, caring AND she’s bilingual which was important to me. I really don’t know what my day would have looked like without Jessica. If you’re looking for a day of coordinator this is your sign, hire Jessica!!

Jessica was absolutely amazing & helped to ensure the month of our wedding went as smooth as possible! I am a pretty organized person and I still found myself a little frazzled leading up to my big day. However, once Jessica took over I was completely at ease! She was in contact with everyone involved in my wedding day (bridal party, parents, church, vendors, etc!) and helped to make a detailed itinerary from our rehearsal dinner through our wedding. She was quick to communicate and was easy to bounce ideas around with! My parents were hesitant to get a coordinator because they weren’t sure we would need one & now they both couldn’t recommend one enough thanks to Jessica! My wedding day started EARLY (like 5 AM early!) and Jessica was there contacting vendors, keeping the hair and makeup on schedule, and answering any questions that anyone had! If anything went wrong on my wedding, I had no idea about it because she truly handled it all! Could not recommend her enough & I am hopeful we will work with her again when my younger sisters get married!
To say that Jessica goes above and beyond does not begin to cover the force of nature this woman is, the order, calm, love and caring she will bring to your wedding day. Normal weddings are complex, stressful, very busy and often emotional - but my wedding was not a normal wedding. As it was, it was more complex than usual. A 150 guest tent wedding in a private home, where everything from bathrooms to an improvised catering situation had to be created from scratch. It was a spectacular, dream day that went off without a hitch thanks to Jessica’s meticulous planning and coordinating. Then, in the middle of the dance floor, things took an unexpected turn for the tragic. One of our guests had a very, very serious medical emergency. The dancing and confetti suddenly turned into paramedics and sirens. Jessica went from coordinating a late night snack to coordinating medical personnel, evacuating our guests, consoling distraught family members and cancelling the next day’s festivities with the calm and efficiency of an army general. The next day, as my family focused on attending the ICU, she quietly and expertly dismantled everything- had all of vendors pick up their set ups on a holiday and ahead of schedule, and in a show of efficiency and caring that I struggle to sufficiently acknowledge, she took care of every detail relating to our wedding so my family would not have to worry about it during a heartbreaking time. I owe Jessica a debt of gratitude forever, and cannot stress enough what a combination of badass, efficiency and loving, caring, support she is. I would recommend Jessica a thousand times, and wish I could hire her to run every aspect of my life.
I was going to wait to write my review until I got back from my honeymoon, but I'm sitting on a plane tearing up thinking about how perfect my day was and that was all thanks to Jessica!
She was with me from 6 in the morning until 1 in the morning. She made sure we stayed on schedule and EVERYTHING went off without a Hitch. She was my right and left hand. She thought of things leading up to the wedding that I didn't even consider. Because of her, I had 0 worries on my wedding day. I was able to enjoy my entire day and take every second in!
She also has a team of people who she can bring in to help set up and take down... which honestly is SOOOO helpful to ensure you aren't stressed about it. Jessica also has a background in interior design which came in clutch for me because while I have random ideas in my head I don't know how to execute them and I'm not creative at all. She listened to my vision and MADE IT HAPPEN!
She was able to negotiate with my venue and vendors and make my timeline flawless. My hair stylist cancelled 6 days prior and Jessica had back ups for me within 24 hours! She is well known in the industry and has sooo many connections which makes her that much more valuable as a part of your wedding team.
One of the best moments she gave me was when I was standing alone with my dad about to walk down the aisle and she said "are you ready? Take a moment to remember this moment". I was so ready to get down the aisle but that precious moment with my dad is one I will cherish for forever.

Jessica is so passionate about her work and so detailed she is a must have for your wedding! Every little thing was covered on the big day and I didn’t have to worry about anything. She made sure every vendor had what they needed and everyone in the wedding party knew what to do when. She is professional and reliable and so nice! I was also so nervous before my ceremony but she helped guide me along great. The reception went without hiccups and helped with making sure I had my items to take home even before I woke up. It was literally perfect and was the best day of my life, and she made that possible. Gonna miss her ☺️
We originally had been planning our wedding ourselves for 2 1/2 years. When the time was getting closer we realized there were things we wouldn’t be able to do ourselves the day of, so we hired Jessica. She made the rest of the planning process so easy for us. She took care of every detail, even the ones we never even thought about.
Jessica is with you from the very start. She was with me since 6 am and stayed till the very end at 12 am. I had nothing to worry about because she was there to take care of it herself (ex: my button broke on my dress and she fixed it for me, or when my bustle strings fell off and she created a bustle out of safety pins).
Jessica is punctual, professional, VERY thorough, and overall just fun to have around. We highly recommend her services. My husband at the end of the night after we said goodbye to her said “that was the BEST thing we did for this wedding. Without her we wouldn’t of been able to pull it off.”

I cannot say enough positive things about working with Jessica as my day-of wedding coordinator. Even though my venue had an on-site coordinator, I was really looking for someone to handle the day from A-Z, and Jessica did just that! Jessica is with you every step of the way on your big day -- from first thing in the morning to seeing you off at the end of the evening! I felt completely relaxed the day of our wedding, and was truly able to just enjoy the day. Even when we ran into a minor issue with one of our vendors, Jessica jumped right in and handled it with total professionalism.
It is clear that Jessica takes pride in what she does and is genuinely passionate in making sure that her brides are taken care of. Jessica was the right choice for day-of coordination for our Chicago wedding. We were looking for someone who had a strong track record of coordinating weddings; in addition to someone who is bilingual, as many family members on my now-husband’s side of the family who attended are primarily Spanish-speaking. Jessica showed genuine care and concern for our once in a lifetime event (it was nice to have someone who didn’t treat your special day as just another job); and it was 100% worth the investment to have someone to manage all of the million details that comprise your wedding day. If there were any hiccups on my wedding day I had no idea they happened! Jessica was fabulous. She is calm, cool, collected and excellent at managing people and different personalities. Jessica kept in constant contact during the month of and helped me finalize details. She was great to bounce ideas of off. I would suggest her services to a bride that needs help managing the day of.

Our wedding was approximately 300 people in Naperville Illinois. Just four months before our wedding our venue went bankrupt. Just one month later we were faced with COVID and had to temporarily cancel our wedding. She provided her input, while asking my input as well. She is very patient, and organized. My wedding day went on without a hiccup at all, my guests knew who was the boss of my wedding day, lol! They said she was running things quite well, she didn't miss a beat! She was very professional when contacting my vendors, and my wedding party. Jessica is absolutely amazing! She helped at our wedding in December and handled everything amazingly, our decorations were perfect and even thought of details that never crossed our minds.
