If you're debating whether or not to hire a day-of coordinator, I'm here to tell you that you absolutely should. And if you're debating whether or not to hire Tyra, I'm here to tell you that will be one of the best decisions for your wedding day.
My wife and I had the privilege of working with Tyra for our brunch wedding in May 2024 in Washington, DC. Amongst a whole host of unique elements and complexities (abbreviated timeline, partially rented space, three music setups, etc), Tyra was on top of all the details with expertise, warmth, and finesse.
From unlimited check-ins up until the day to taking care of all the vendor communications a month out, the face value of our package with Tyra was unbeatable. But the real value is in Tyra herself, whose presence on our day was truly priceless.
Tyra was incredible. We hired her as a day of/month of planner, and she was on top of it from day 1. She was easy to work with, organized, and didn't ever get flustered. She was accessible and responsive, had great advice when we needed it and let us do our thing when we had our own vision.
Booking Tyra was, without question, one of the best choices we made in the lead-up to our wedding.
My (now) husband and I both had a strong vision for how we envisioned the day, but wanted to be able to take it in without fretting about logistics. Then we met Tyra and signed on for her Wedding Management services. We started out with monthly check-ins, where she would track our progress and provide helpful recommendations. We felt immediately comfortable that one of the biggest days of our lives was in the right hands. At a month out, we did a walkthrough of the venue and Tyra connected with our vendors to start taking logistics off our plate. On the day of our wedding, Tyra and her team were amazing.
Little things always go awry on Wedding Day, so having someone on hand to make sure relatives know where they need to be, to troubleshoot when furniture breaks, to hunt down missing shuttles, and to make sure the couple getting married have space to eat makes a huge difference. We were particularly grateful for the enthusiasm and respect she brought to her communications with our vendors. It made a real difference on our wedding day and created a truly warm and positive environment.
Tyra is amazing and we fell lucky we got the chance to work with her.
Tyra is knowledgeable, professional, organized, kind, trustworthy, helpful, and calm. We felt that booking Events by Tyra was an incredible value because she offers virtual meetings as soon as you book her. We had a year and a half to chat with her to develop the vision and make plans for the wedding. She has a great network of vendors and could give helpful advice (or offer the different options) on any topic. The day of went super smoothly and we could relax knowing that it was well planned and that Tyra would ensure that everything went well.
Tyra is the best! Not only is she organized, but she helped to keep us calm in the stress of the final month of planning. She made coordination between or vendors and the venue seamless. Tyra was always very responsive and was great about answering questions and providing suggestions. We had a few issues with one of our vendors, and Tyra helped us solve the issue quickly. We were so lucky to have her!
After postponing our wedding due to Covid, my fiancé and I decided to hire a wedding coordinator to relieve some of my stress — I wish we had done it sooner!
Tyra is a godsend. She is professional, prompt, organized and has an amazing vendor network. I saved hundreds of dollars using her recommendations for florals, lighting and hair.
Our wedding day was perfect! As with any wedding, there were a few hiccups throughout the day, but I had no clue. Tyra took care of everything from start to finish. To top it all off, hubby and I left for our honeymoon the morning after the wedding, so Tyra returned our rental linens so we wouldn’t incur a late fee! Top notch service. I’d recommend her any day!
Thank goodness for Tyra!! She truly made our wedding day happen and turned what could have been a chaotic and stressful day into a smooth and magical event. Knowing she was in charge helped us relax and enjoy. She did a great job managing vendors and designing gorgeous tablescapes for our reception. She was responsive to anything we raised or questions we had throughout the day and evening, problem solving and resolving issues as they arose. We're so glad we hired Tyra for our wedding!
I can't stress enough how much Tyra makes everything in wedding planning SO MUCH BETTER. I literally breathed an air of relief when she came on as month of coordinator. Honestly, I wish I started with her sooner because she's so organized and has all the best tips and tricks. I got so many compliments from my other vendors about how Tyra is a rarity among wedding planners - super detailed oriented, helpful, and just overall excellent.
There are not adequate words for me to describe how thankful I am for Tyra coming into our life and making our wedding so fabulous! Tyra was worth every penny. We would recommend her to anyone. She was on top of everything, and it definitely was the BEST decision we could have made. She made us feel heard, gave great suggestions and was always just an email or call away.
Tyra was attentive and organized, I really could not have asked for anything more. She did so much work with my vendors behind the scenes prior to the event and that work paid off on the day-of. Tyra created a detailed timeline for the day of the wedding and was the key person to implement it which allowed me and my husband the luxury of enjoying our special day. Tyra is a true professional in this business and a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend her to anyone, and we cannot thank her enough….we are forever grateful.

I cannot say enough good things about working with Tyra. She went well above and beyond my expectations to make sure our wedding day went off without a hitch. We were able to fully enjoy our day knowing all the details were in Tyra's care.
Her attention to detail is unmatched, and she managed our collection of vendors with professionalism and ease. Throughout the planning process, she made herself available to answer questions and give recommendations. In the weeks leading up to the event, she took over vendor comms, created a wonderful timeline and venue layout, and generally took all the stress off my shoulders. 100% recommend bringing a coordinator on board for the weeks leading up the event, not just day-of; this was absolutely critical to everything running smoothly.
I am a ridiculously Type A person who has professional experience with event planning, and Tyra thought of details even I missed. She's also a delightful, lovely person, and that makes her all the more fun to work with. Seriously, you need her for your big day.
Tyra is amazing! Before hiring her, we were overwhelmed by all of the small details that needed to fall into place for our wedding, but she made everything easier as soon as we brought her on board. She immediately took over coordinating with all of our vendors, contacting and creating detailed, individual timelines for them. She visited the venue weeks ahead of time to scope out the space and plan for the event itself. She really shined on the day of the wedding. She handled all of the nitty-gritty details, coordinating the placement of decorations, managing all of our vendors, and making sure everyone got their food (the bride, groom, guests, and vendors!). Tyra is incredibly friendly, professional, and an absolute pleasure to work with. I’m sure she will make your wedding stress-free as she did for ours.
Tyra brought great vision, energy and organization to my daughter's wedding day. She has beautiful ideas and key connections to vendors who helped to make our wedding special and memorable. Tyra is an amazing wedding coordinator! She worked with me the month of my wedding to put together a schedule for the day of, reach out to all my vendors, help with finishing touches for decorating and manage the entire day of the wedding. She was always prompt and very flexible to meet with via Zoom. Tyra stood out from other wedding coordinators I interviewed because she was a great listener (to all my concerns for planning the wedding, what I needed help with still, etc) and paid great attention to detail. I highly recommend Tyra!!!
First off Tyra is amazing. She is extremely detailed oriented and on top of everything. We hired her to assist us plan our micro wedding after having to cancel our big wedding secondary to the pandemic. Her guidance was amazing. Can’t recommend her enough.
