I planned my destination wedding from 1,700+ miles away, which had all of it's own stresses as you could imagine, and everything went off without a hitch! I highly recommend this business for a wedding or just a vacation in general.

more! -The Event Coordinators, Jenna Western and Macy Sprock, were a joy to work with for the entire year leading up to our wedding. They were organized, informative and flexible with our needs. We planned our wedding from the East Coast, so this was very much appreciated. -The hotel was a fantastic place to stay for us, family and friends the week of the wedding. Our guests raved about not only our wedding, but the entire experience the had during the days leading up to our wedding. -The food was FANTASTIC - everything from cocktail hour, to the actual dinner to the delicious 3 flavors of cake we chose. We had comments about our delicious food from guests, as well. The chef is amazing & the food was just as tasty the day of the wedding as it was during our tasting several months prior. The cake was able to personalized to exactly what I wanted it to look like, and it was just what I was expecting in terms of frosting, etc. So nice to be able to order our cake through The Resort vs. finding another vendor. -The Resort at Squaw Creek has several different locations for both ceremony & reception spaces and it was so nice to have options. If you prefer indoor vs. outdoor, deck vs. golf course - they have it all. -We looked at several other venues in Lake Tahoe and while all are stunning, what stood out to us about The Resort at Squaw Creek is how "all inclusive" it is. Guests could stay there, they have wonderful pool/spa(s), have several restaurants, and a bar for us to enjoy after the wedding. They by far offered the most in one location vs. anywhere else we looked at & it was PERFECT for our guests who had traveled from near and far to be there for our wedding. -Absolutely everything went smoothly the day of our wedding. There were a couple of last minute changes (as there often are with weddings!) & Jenna and her staff handled it extremely professionally. Everything turned out perfectly and I didn't have to worry about a thing the day of. Jenna and her staff were organized, efficient and made me feel extremely at ease as a bride. I would recommend The Resort at Squaw Creek to ANYONE getting married in Lake Tahoe!! Whether you are planning a destination wedding or live locally, it will exceed all of your expectations and you will have a perfect wedding day to remember forever!!!

helpful. Planning was easy and only took a few meetings/calls- note that they do require that you have a day-of planner for a med-large wedding, but we appreciated having help on both sides. The resort offers so much in their package (catering, cake, tables, chairs, linens, arch, dance floor) that you only need to seek out a few other vendors. We received rave reviews from guests about the rooms, views, resort pool, food, and how many activities there were on site and in the valley. We could not recommend this place more for a wedding.

Some weeks communication was a little slower than others, but coming from Silicon Valley I can expect we have high expectations. The wedding planning was fun. Which cannot always be said about weddings. The fact that the Resort took care of the venue, the tables, the chairs, the drinks, the food, the cake, and even the linens and AV, made our lives so much easier. Allison was pretty much our wedding planner. She was the one who worked with all of the other vendors and staff that were involved. The only item that could be improved is the room blocks and the communications surrounding them. Weekly updates on room status would have been nice. Yet on the flip side our room was gorgeous, and it was so nice to get ready just an elevator ride away from the venue. The day of went amazingly smooth. Everything was set up as we had discussed and I never once had to discuss anything with the venue staff. Allison and the behind the scenes staff knew what they were doing. Honestly, the day of I forgot they were even there. Things just went that smoothly. I would highly recommend this venue for any couple looking to have a gorgeous wedding in the Sierras. Allison and her team were wonderful to work with and our wedding day could not have been more memorable. Thank you RASC!

Allison, we received everything and more. The entire event exceeded my expectations. There really isn't a better venue and all our guests really enjoyed the experience of such a great place. The coordination really stands out to me also. Allison was there the entire event in the background making sure my wedding flowed. Thank you Allison for all you did for us, our guests, and our special day.

ng department, every person we worked with was professional and truly invested in making sure that the event was what we wanted. We felt throughout the entire process that we were all on the same side and working towards the same goal. Allison Keasal, the Special Events Manager, was amazing. She was so flexible and patient with our many questions, and her "can do" attitude was contagious. Carrie DeMange, the Revenue Manager, handled the room reservations with such ease - even though we had many people coming and going on different days that led to many special requests and changes. Allison and Carrie made all of the details fit into place behind the scenes so that we could truly enjoy the day. The venue was everything we knew it would be. We’ve been visiting The Resort for years, and because it represents such special memories for our family it was the easy choice for the wedding weekend. The gorgeous location, delicious food, and wonderful people provided the bride and groom with the perfect day.

personal menu that we wanted to re-create and they were totally open to it. We ended up choosing the entire menu and wine list and they brought in the wines we wanted as well, so everything was custom. Most venues won't be nearly so flexible, and this was our main deciding factor of choosing Squaw. The quality of food was incredible, and the culinary team did an amazing job interpreting and re-creating our menu. The planning of the wedding unfortunately was quite difficult. Our first wedding coordinator left the Resort just after we negotiated and signed all of our contracts, and our account was passed off to a new employee. As we were planning our wedding from across the country, this presented numerous challenges, and we had to walk the employee through everything all over again, re-discuss, and re-negotiate all of our contracts. She finally got up to speed and had everything rolling smoothly until...three weeks before our wedding she also quit suddenly, and our account was passed on yet again. Fortunately, the new coordinator had at least participated in our tasting so had an idea of our vision, and assured us she would help us make a successful event. Unfortunately, we had to go through the whole process of discussing and negotiating our contract yet again, which was hugely stressful just before our wedding. At the end of it all, we got the wedding we wanted and had originally discussed, at the price we had originally agreed upon, but it was far from being easy. The Resort is a beautiful venue and we had our reception in the Cascades Restaurant, which was an excellent room lending itself to our lounge-style setup. Only criticism is that the room is somewhat dated and tired; the chairs inside were very ugly, the ceiling is pretty low and unattractive, but we made do and had a beautiful event nonetheless. Squaw was the right choice for the venue and quality of food and hopefully it was just a fluke that we went through three wedding coordinators, but it is imperative to get every possible aspect/price of your contract spelled out in case the same happens in the future.
