I'd like to echo the other reviews stating that Nicole is extremely unprofessional and difficult to work with. I'm only writing this review because working with her has been the most stressful part of wedding planning.
In short: Nicole produce...s some gorgeous invitations, but there are many talented paper vendors, and I would strongly recommend going with someone else. Especially if you are conscious of your budget and hope for a collaborative design process.
I don't know much about stationary or invitations--but I know what I like--and I was hoping to work with someone to set the tone for our wedding. The save-the-dates were gorgeous and the process was easy. However, when we came to agreeing on an invite suite, it became very dramatic.
My specific issue is in the proofing process. The first draft she provides is done with a regular lead pencil. It was a sketch I could do on my own, and I am not even slightly artistic. I approved it because it looked fine--it was hard to tell--but my only ask was that the entire suite wasn't one specific color.
The colored proof she ended up giving me was, unfortunately, very far off from the vibe of our wedding. It looked positively baroque, and I'm getting married on a farm in Mexico. Additionally, the entire suite was the one specific color I asked her to steer clear of.
I wasn't upset at all. I wanted to make tweaks so our family and friends weren't confused when they received our invite. However, she became very upset when I simply told her that there may have been a miscommunication. I also told her I would happily pay ($80) for a phone call to discuss.
She proceeded to send me 5 emails that night with screenshots from my agreement to an entirely non-descript, pencil-sketched proof with zero color or detail. She kept on saying over and over again that I agreed to the sketch. However, she failed to recognize that the sketch is completely unhelpful to inform what the suite will look like with color and detail.
Prior to my first phone call with Nicole, I was never upset or angry about the proofs I received, nor did I object to the additional costs which would surely accompany my requested edits. I was prepared to have a collaborative conversation in which I requested an edit, and if she was willing to accommodate the edit, it would cost extra. I was very unprepared to be met with Nicole's hostility. On the phone, Nicole was angry that my email caused her stress, regardless of the fact that it thanked her for her work and merely requested a phone call, which I was happy to pay for. She was defensive and quick to blame me for any dissatisfaction. In the end, I paid $1,000 more than quoted for her edits fees and I received the invite I conceded to--not the invite I love.
Given her tendency to publicly and passive-aggressively display her frustrations with clients via Instagram, perhaps I should have known better. However, I could have never anticipated that my request would be so triggering. I was merely seeking to tailor our wedding invitation to our personal aesthetic and that which we have planned for our wedding. That is why we decided to do a custom invitation suite.
Again, spare yourself the stress. I would highly recommend choosing someone else.
