Extra Hands for Your Events

We got married in July 2017, had about 100 guests and hired Extra Hands to serve and bartend. They were so fantastic, I don't even have enough words! Let me start by saying that I wanted our wedding to be a personalized experience, not a cookie-cutter "wedding factory" type. I was also appalled by the cost of most caterers in the area. So instead, I had a restaurant prepare and drop off trays of the food (steak, chicken, fish and all the trimmings). We bought all the alcohol, dessert and cocktail hour food separately (for real, the local catering companies wanted to charge $12/person for shrimp cocktail... I spent $25 buying 150 shrimp instead). This long story leads me to Extra Hands. We knew we wanted a family style meal and the servers went above and beyond. Cocktail hour: appetizers and drinks were brought out to our guests. A server brought a tray of appetizers outside to the wedding party and photographer--if you've been a bride, you know what a HUGE god send this is. We hadn't eaten in hours and I am so thankful for that very thoughtful server. Also, our bartender was a super pleasant (certified/insured) young woman from Fairhaven who my guests spoke so highly of. Salad course: perfectly served. Lemon was sliced and put in water. Bread and dipping oil: beautifully presented and served. Main course: everything was warmed beautifully and served to each individual table. Servers were SO pleasant. Everything was cleared away at the end. Dessert course: wedding cake was cut and served after we did the initial cake cutting. They were super swift and professional. Wedding cakes are tricky business and everything went off without a hitch. After serving: THE KITCHEN WAS SPOTLESS. We owned all of the plates/silverware used (great find on craigslist from a former bride) and so I was really worried about Extra Hands having enough time to wash. I asked them to rinse, if possible and not worry about it. They washed every last fork and packed everything back into the crates, packed up ALL the rental glasses and platters, put all the leftovers in the fridge, froze the top layer of the cake for our anniversary, packed assorted things like salt and pepper shakers/tea/coffee into bags to travel with--I mean, there's nothing that they didn't think of. Also, the owner Gigi was super nice and responsive to work with. She assured me every step of the way and answered every question I had. She was a joy to work with. She asked for our preference in uniform for the servers to ensure that matched the formality of our event and it was perfect. I highly recommend them. You won't regret it :-)
