Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown

The Colonnade at the Fairmont Georgetown is by far the best DC venue for 140-190 people. The floor-to-ceiling windows and round elevated stage made for a beautiful ceremony setting. The outdoor courtyard or the Loggia are wonderful settings for the cocktail hour. Then the Colonnade becomes the room for the dinner and dancing. It was just a warm, beautiful, romantic setting. The Fairmont catering staff worked very hard all through contracting, selections, and the wedding day to make our event as perfect as possible. They accommodated reasonable requests, had several meal and hors-d'oevre selections, and great premium bar choices. The dinner was good and service was excellent (hard to completely control food preparation quality with a large banquet). Cake and dessert were served effortlessly. Isabel and team did an amazing job! This venue is unbelievably great for a 9-piece live band. The round stage becomes a dance floor that is packed all night. Truly a magical venue. All our guests were happy with their rooms. The bridal and groom suites were out-of-this-world and definitely lived up to expectations. I highly recommend!!

The Fairmont Hotel was the perfect choice for our wedding! The event coordinators were not only professional, but also accommodating, warm and responsive throughout our planning process, ensuring a stress-free experience. They were highly cooperative and willing to address our requests, ensuring that our wedding experience was unforgettable. The hotel itself is beautiful, a true depiction of elegance and sophistication. The different ballroom set-ups available in the hotel were perfect for our wedding ceremony and reception. Our guests also truly appreciated the comfortable accommodations and excellent service throughout the weekend. The convenience of having the ceremony, reception, and accommodations all in one location added to the overall positive experience for everyone involved. Choosing Fairmont as our wedding venue was the best decision we made. The combination of a stunning setting, exceptional staff, and great service made our special day truly magical. We wholeheartedly recommend Fairmont to any couple looking for a dreamy and remarkable wedding experience!

In my opinion, Kiera Amerio is Fairmont's "event planner extraordinaire!" She went out of her way to help me plan my son and his bride's wedding rehearsal dinner as well as the welcome party that followed at the Fairmont Washington, D.C. Both events were wonderfully successful. Everyone raved about the delicious food, the excellent service, and the gorgeous venues. Kiera is just lovely -- extremely patient, responsive, efficient and knowledgeable about all things Fairmont. She went out of her way to accommodate our every need to make everyone's experience top-notch. What a night it was with Kiera's help! I highly recommend working with Kiera, a true gem!

We found the Fairmont a wonderful venue to plan and celebrate a wedding in. The location is superb; both guest rooms and common areas (to include the lobby, outdoor garden, and dining and reception space) are well appointed and comfortable. The main reason we opted for this location over other options was how much gets handled through the hotel: their event team was so helpful we didn’t hire a separate planner, and because the food was so good we didn’t need to find a caterer. The prices seemed reasonable for D.C. After committing to the venue, we enjoyed consistently clear communication for the staff at Fairmont, which made choosing the menu, silverware, tables, etc. straightforward. Building a timeline of the weekend, to include rehearsal times on the day of another wedding in the same space, was also easy. The vendors we did have to book (such as the DJ) came recommended by Fairmont and were excellent. On the day of, guests were enthusiastic about the venue, the drinks, the food (more than one said it was the best they had enjoyed at a wedding), and the location in D.C. Staff were very helpful addressing any of the small emergencies that inevitably pop up.

We had our wedding at the Fairmont in November 2023 and they did an incredible job. We worked directly with Kiera from the moment we first visited the venue in Sept 2022 all the way up until the wedding day. She made the entire process of designing the wedding simple, clearly communicated what the Fairmont was and was not capable of, and was consistently available for questions and walkthroughs. We couldn't have asked for anyone better! The Colonnade and Courtyard was beautiful on it's own (we only brought in a few flowers), the food was incredible, the cake was gorgeous, and the entire team at the Fairmont was prompt and professional. We would highly recommend the Fairmont to anyone who is looking to get married in DC!!!

The Fairmont was the first venue we toured and we fell in love immediately. We got married in the colonnade room, it is such a beautiful room already that you only need minimal decor to bring your dream to reality! We worked with Kiera for the entire event process and cannot recommend her enough! She was fabulous from our first meeting and was always available to answer questions, offer recommendations and provide top notch service. The entire Fairmont staff is incredible and did an amazing job at our wedding!! Robinson one of the catering managers was so friendly and wonderful from our tasting through to our sunday brunch. We received so many compliments on the venue the food, staff and the ambiance of the Fairmont. I was so in love with how our wedding turned out and cannot thank the Fairmont team enough for all the support!!

The Fairmont DC was amazing. Kiera was incredible and helpful throughout the process. She made sure our every need was met, and was a big reason we chose to go with the Fairmont. The venue is beautiful, the food is incredible, and overall, the process was easy with them. The bridal suite is spacious and beautiful. Getting ready up there was great (and we had a group of 11 women)! We would have given 4.5 stars, but a half star wasn't an option. The reason we took off a star was because our wedding planner said that the contract really favored the venue. It was our mistake not to have a wedding planner first, but we fell in love with the place! The other reason is that the venue stated they would move the groom's stuff to the bridal suite the day of, but the staff said they couldn't because the room was not tidy, but that was not the case. It bothered the groom day of, and he had to get the groomsmen and himself to move things.

There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe how thrilled we are with our decision to get married at the Fairmont! From the moment we first inquired about the venue to our wedding day, the Fairmont's hospitality was second to none. We worked with Kiera who was absolutely a rockstar! She was always quick and thorough in responding to all of our many questions and concerns for the whole year that were planning our wedding, and always made us feel like she had control over all the details and nuances of our event. She worked with us to make our event work for us--making special items that were not on the menu, accommodating dietary needs, coming up with creative solutions to our concerns, etc. The hospitality at our tasting and over our wedding weekend was incredible and made us and our families feel so special and well taken care of. The venue is truly luxurious. The bridal suite, the amenities, and the overall service were top notch! From the wait staff to the valet to the front desk team, everyone we encountered was extremely accommodating! In addition to the wonderful experience of working with the Fairmont team, our wedding was truly perfect! The food was delicious (we got tons of compliments on the quality and variety), and the overall logistics and flow of the event were perfect. There were 2 weddings at the hotel at the same time, and Kiera and her team did a perfect job accommodating both and avoiding any overlap or crowding. We did our ceremony and reception in the Colonnade, which is a gorgeous indoor space that almost feels like an indoor gazebo with a circular shape and a raised dance floor in the center. It felt so unique and special and visually beautiful but also had the ease and amenities of being at a hotel. I could go on and on about how amazing the Fairmont is, but my best advice is to book with the Fairmont!

I'm not sure where to even begin putting into words how PHENOMENAL the Fairmont is. From the moment I toured and saw the Colonnade Room, I knew it was going to be a great venue and it still exceeded all of my expectations. We worked with Carrow initially before Kiera took over for the bulk of our planning and execution and I feel so fortunate to have worked with her. She is incredibly thoughtful, has fantastic attention to detail, and was so responsive throughout the entire process addressing our many questions. She also had some great suggestions during our planning process (such as inspiring us to do a cookbook as our guest book since we're big at home cooks). Rest assured, you and your other vendors will be in great hands with her. The hotel itself is stunning and went under a massive renovation within the last several years which really shows. The Colonnade (where we had our ceremony and reception) is such a unique space to host a wedding in and our guests loved the elevated dance floor. Our guests were blown away by the service and kindness from the entire staff at the Fairmont from the front desk to the bartenders to our reception waiters and bartenders. They were so attentive throughout the entire weekend and made everybody feel at home. When we went for our tasting several months before, I knew we were all going to be in for a treat. We heard from our group that it was hands down the best food they've had at a wedding and we could not agree more. Everything from our passed appetizers at cocktail hour to reception food to our cake and brunch the next morning was top notch. We also did an espresso martini bar and dessert room that was an amazing add on. I could go on and on about the Fairmont and cannot recommend this venue enough - you absolutely will not regret it!

My husband and I were lucky enough to book at the Fairmont for our July wedding. Kiera and her team are amazing to work with! I have heard from all of my guests that they all thought the venue was beautiful and had the best food and drinks they have ever had at any wedding. The Fairmont did an amazing job of making my dream wedding come to life. The space was amazing, the service was second to none - everything was perfect. I would highly recommend having your wedding at The Fairmont!

My husband and I were married in the Colonnade Room, which was then flipped for our reception. Everything was so beautiful and perfect! The room is just magical - like a little countryside estate right in the middle of DC. Our guests raved about the food! But what really made our day magical was Carrow, the Fairmont’s wedding coordinator. From the first time we toured the place, she painted a picture of what our wedding would be like, and then she delivered! She was so responsive, kind, and understanding. And although I know she was probably working with hundreds of couples, she did an amazing job at making us feel like we were the only ones. She was a huge reason our wedding was as wonderful as it was. I can’t say enough good things about The Fairmont or Carrow. If you’re considering having your wedding here, definitely do it - you won’t regret it!

The Fairmont could not have been a more perfect venue, homebase and hotel accommodation for us and our family/friends last weekend. The bridal suite, the amenities, and the overall service was top notch! The banquet staff, the bellmen, the front desk team, everyone we encountered was extremely accommodating! Most importantly, you were a pleasure to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process, thank you for making it so easy for us! Our friends and family will be talking about this wedding for decades to come. We've had this week off of work to rest and reflect on such an amazing week- in reminiscing with our family, we've heard stories of our guests raving about how amazing the food was (mission accomplished!!! great job Chef Jason and Chef AJ) and how beautiful of an event it was! :) Thank you for all of the hospitality- we truly appreciate it and look forward to coming back to the Fairmont in the future!

Carrow, Mackie, Adam, and the entire Catering & Events team at the Fairmont were absolutely wonderful to work with. From a wedding planners perspective - I couldn't have asked for a better team. These three as well as their staff were so helpful not only on the wedding day, but were extremely knowledgable throughout the entire planning process. They answered my couples many questions, suggested wonderful options, and above all executed an amazing product. Would gladly plan a wedding at the Fairmont again in a heartbeat!

The Fairmont Hotel exceeded all our expectations for our daughter's wedding. From the time we were only investigating venues until the very last moment we checked out of the hotel, we had a first class experience. The catering director, Carrow Rasberry is not only very knowledgeable, but also very personable. She was ALWAYS available by phone, email and even text messaging. Carrow guided us and helped us make very important decisions along the way. I'm so glad she was part of our team as we navigated through the wedding planning. It is truly because of Carrow and Chef Jason that this hotel stands out among its competitors. Chef Jason created an extraordinary meal for our 232 guests. Our family and friends are still raving about the food 2 weeks after the wedding. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to celebrate any event/occasion. I have only wonderful things to share...

As gorgeous as The Fairmont is, it's the team that makes the space shine. Our wedding was held in the Colonnade Room (ceremony and reception) and the Courtyard (cocktail hour). Like many Covid couples we had to move our wedding date and be responsive to changing regulations. The team at the Fairmont worked with us at every turn. Their attitude throughout was, whatever we're working with, we will ensure you have a beautiful and memorable wedding. This amazing outlook sustained us through some really touch-and-go times: we had moved out of state during the planning and were unable to visit/talk in person. When the wedding week came, we were greeted with smiles and that amazing Can-Do attitude. All of our guests were taken care of and requests accommodated such as early/late checkins, etc. Any problems that arose were handled swiftly. Our families loved being able to hang out in the Lobby and the Courtyard and just see who was coming through. The food was out of this world - our guests are still raving about it. The servers were so great. We are especially grateful for the care the catering staff took to accommodate our guests' food allergies. I will be daydreaming about our cake until our one-year anniversary! Of course none of this would have happened without the indefatigable Carrow Rasberry, who made sure everything was picture-perfect for us and our guests. She has an everlasting well of patience, an eye for detail, and a super-human ability to solve anything that could come up. If Carrow is on your team, you will be unstoppable.

Five Stars is not enough to give to the Fairmont Washington DC. We decided on the Fairmont in early 2020 for a wedding that Fall. Of course, the Pandemic hit so we changed the date to April 2021. Carrow Rasberry ( the asst. director of catering) helped us navigate in unchartered-pandemic-waters. What could have been a nightmare turned into a dream. A wedding that went beyond perfect. The Fairmont was steadfast in adhering to pandemic protocol in order to keep everyone safe. Yet, the wedding could not have been more beautiful and elegant and beyond what we had hoped to imagine. The food: Chef created and absolutely delicious. The service: 5 star in every way. The guest rooms: beautifully well appointed. I would not even consider any other hotel in the DC area for a wedding were I to do it again. And I looked at all of the 5 star rated hotels in the DC area. All of them. The Fairmont Washington DC knocks them all out of the water. Thank you Carrow. A true gem.

Due to the COVID pandemic we had to change our wedding plans and decided postpone our larger party and have a very small wedding ceremony (less than 10 people). The Fairmont was able to accommodate our guests and host a small, intimate dinner for us that was absolutely perfect. I was so impressed with the professionalism of the staff and accommodations made by the hotel to host our small wedding dinner. They also added special touches that were very thoughtful (champagne sent to our room, hand-written notes from the hotel congratulating us, and a beautiful dessert the chef brought to our room after our wedding). They truly did a wonderful job and made everything feel very special. Highly recommend!

They say it's hard to plan the perfect wedding- after our experience with our wedding coordinator Carrow and the Fairmont Hotel, I'm here to say that's far from the truth. We literally had THE perfect wedding on November 2nd. The hotel itself will literally captivate you the moment you step in. The ballroom is spacious and can easily accommodate a larger party. We were easily able to hold +200 guests, a pianist, a photo booth, and a taco station with plenty of room to spare. The level of service by the waitstaff was beyond top-notch, and the food was the talk of the night. As a major foodie, I was pleasantly surprised at how top-notch the food was. The honeymoon suite was prepared for us with rose petals and a nice gift. Then for the level of service by Carrow and her banquet staff. Carrow literally went above and beyond to provide an unbelievable level of service. She was attentive, flexible, and very accommodating. Her expertise and level of professionalism played a heavy hand in the successful outcome of our wedding. You would be hard pressed not to request a quote from Fairmont if you've ever dreamed of having a perfect wedding. Can't rave enough about this place and Carrow!

Can't say enough about this venue! For top to bottom it was the best experience! The main areas of the hotel are beautiful and make quite the first-impression. The Colonnade Room is gorgeous space - it looks like a greenhouse gazebo...in the middle of DC. And, the adjacent outdoor courtyard gives the space a country feel. The banquet staff (Carrow, Ashley, Hannah) were a pleasure to work with. The chef and pastry chef created dishes that were delicious and almost too pretty to eat. Everyone we encountered was warm, friendly and helpful, right down to the manager of Juniper, the cafe attached to the Hotel. Our room was large, modern and extremely comfortable.

PHENOMENAL venue! We had the perfect wedding here - I can't say enough good things about the Fairmont and about our above-and-beyond fabulous coordinator Carrow. Every single thing went perfectly thanks to her and her staff. The venue is spectacular - it has an outdoors garden feel while allowing you to stay cool and dry inside. All our guest gushed about what a beautiful space it was. Carrow is THE BEST. She is responsive, flexible, patient, and so so funny. She makes you and your family feel like royalty while still being honest and upfront. We didn't have a wedding coordinator so we had a lot of questions for her and she answered them timely and thoroughly every time. We asked her for help on several things that were definitely beyond her normal duties and she was so accommodating and generous with her time. She reminded us to eat on our wedding day, set aside appetizers and champange for us so we could try those while having a moment to "take it all in" before our cocktail hour, and helped keep the night on track. We couldn't have done it without her. The food is the best wedding food I've ever had. Every option at our tasting was delicious and the pastry chef even made a special dessert for us that we requested, even though it wasn't on the menu. The tasting was a private tasting which made us feel very taken care of and special. The wait staff, bell men, and general hotel staff are also the friendliest I have ever encountered. My parents got married at the venue 30 years before we did, and Carrow even arranged something special to honor them. The honeymoon suite was decorated for us and had champagne and chocolate when we walked in. It was the perfect way to end the night. I can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. I don't have a single bad thing to say about the Fairmont!

I’ve decided to celebrate my wedding to Jared at the Fairmont Washington DC, Georgetown after visiting its beautiful Colonnade Room during a corporate event. The venue is amazingly bright with a perfect combination of the hotel modern décor with romantic feeling to celebrate love of two people with their family and friends. We were lucky to have the assistant director of catering Carrow R. working personally with us. She did a stellar job – we could not have been happier with the event and the feedback of everyone that was present. Carrow manages dozens of weddings during the year and such enormous experience combined with her knowing the hotel like the back of her hand made our experience spectacular from hiring to after event follow ups. She was very professional and managed our family and wedding party friends with grace and care. I did not have a wedding planner but Carrow filled any blanks beyond my expectations. The entire process of working with her was also a real pleasure. She was easy to hire, with many different portfolios of catering options and a diverse set of rooms available on our special day. She was always very responsive and answered all our questions quickly and fully. I had the opportunity of meeting her at the venue a number of times and every time I had a meeting with one of my vendors (photographer, florist), Carrow made herself available to discuss details of our ceremony as well. She was very sweet, following up often in case I needed anything. About 6 weeks before the wedding, we had our tasting, and Carrow surprised us lining up all chefs, maîtres and cooks that would work with us on our wedding day. She shared their best-seller list of food and wine (and indeed they were all delicious!). Everything worked incredibly smoothly days before and on our wedding day, with Carrow’s plan executed flawlessly. With extraordinary level of service, I felt nothing could go wrong for us working with Carrow. She was everywhere for everyone, providing us a well organized plan and executing on an exceptional level. She stayed with us until the end of the event and surprised us with a beautiful gift left in our hotel room: a chocolate frame of a picture of us, taken that same morning! That was a huge surprise and brought tears to our eyes and awe from all our guests that visited us the next day in our home, seeing a printed on chocolate frame less then 24hr of the wedding. Magnificent. In short, Carrow was a rock star! We will definitely recommend her very highly for anyone looking to have his or her wedding or event at a beautiful hotel with 5 stars treatment, for real.

I would absolutely recommend the Fairmont to anyone who wanting to get married in DC. We had 250 guests in the ballroom downstairs and it was stunning. The bridal suite was incredible, our guests loved staying at the hotel and the food was incredible! Everyone at the hotel is so kind, attentive, responsive and helpful. The personal touches from the staff of the Fairmont are things that we will remember forever.

We always knew we wanted to have our wedding in Washington, DC and planned on looking at some iconic DC hotels as possible venues. While we saw a few different places, the Fairmont was the first and it had us captured from the moment we walked in the door. Our wedding was in May and Carrow was our Fairmont wedding coordinator. Carrow and the Fairmont helped create the wedding of our dreams. We had the ceremony in the Colonnade, the cocktail hour in the courtyard/loggia lounge space. The reception was held in the Grand Ballroom.No detail was forgotten by Carrow and the amazing staff at the Fairmont. Carrow made the planning process effortless and extremely personalized as she noticeably took a vested interest in our wedding being perfect. The spaces used for the wedding were perfect for a wedding of about 225. The staff was extremely attentive to any guest’s needs. We are still getting guests talking about how amazing the hotel staff was. On a different level was the food. Wedding food can sometimes be bland and not well done because it is made for the masses. The food at our wedding was unbelievably amazing. People loved the mac and cheese bar during the cocktail hour. They raved over the hors d’oeuvres as well as the dinner and dessert. The wedding cake was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Carrow and the hotel really did everything in their power not only to make the entire weekend amazing for us but for all of our guests, whether they were staying at the hotel or not. We could go on and on about how amazing The Fairmont Washington, D.C. and our wedding coordinator Carrow were. If you are looking for a venue please consider the Fairmont Washington, D.C. They will create the magical wedding you are looking for.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about my experience with the Fairmont. We had our wedding ceremony and reception in the Colonnade room and it was the most gorgeous event. The staff at the Fairmont run a tight ship and made sure that every single detail (from planning, to the tasting and food, to guest rooms, and the execution of a dream wedding) was beyond perfect. I worked with Carrow Rasberry at the Fairmont and have such respect for her professionalism , experience, knowledge and overall awesome-ness! I’ve attended a lot of weddings, and while I am certainly biased toward my own, the experience at the Fairmont is unique and special and will leave you and your guests impressed! You will not regret your decision to host your wedding (or special event) there.

We had an amazing wedding at the Fairmont in Georgetown! Carrow, Senior Catering Manager, worked with us during each step of the way and was always there for any questions or comments we had. She has a fun personality so working with her was a joy! We hosted our Friday night Welcome Dinner, ceremony and reception on Saturday, and Brunch on Sunday all at the hotel - which was so perfect given the fact that the majority of our guests were from out of town. The service of the staff at each event was fabulous. Thank you for a great experience, Fairmont!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Fairmont. We chose it because it was so beautiful, and had an outdoor courtyard which not many DC venues have. We are so glad we did! We did both our ceremony and wedding there, which I'd recommend because they transitioned the room beautifully and it was much easier for our guests and us to have the whole event in one place. This is really a 5 star experience, they know what they are doing. We worked with Bob who was great. The whole day went off perfectly and he took care of everything. The food was excellent and all the guests commented on how beautiful it was. They've also recently done a renovation so all of the guest rooms and the lobby are beautiful as well. Highly recommend!

There really aren't enough stars to say how wonderful this place and the staff is!!!!! our wedding was everything we wanted and more!!!!!!!!!!! Eric Horovitz is the BEST!! we didn't need to get a wedding planner because we had him hold our hand the entire way!! The Colonnade room is a dream come true !The hotel rooms are gorgeous as well.I would DEFINITELY recommend this venue to anyone!

When my then fiancé, now husband, and I began searching for a venue for our wedding, I was pretty adamant that I did not want to have it in a hotel. I had been to enough hotel receptions and didn’t want ours to simply fall in line. So when we included the Fairmont on our shortlist of venues to visit, I did not expect to like it. We fell in love with it - instantly. It’s a beautiful, elegant hotel to be sure, but it’s the ambience that sold us. The Fairmont has a classy, upscale feel without the stuffiness or austerity. The level of service is unmatched. From the moment you pull up to the front doors, you are treated like the most important guest they will ever have. Our decision was sealed almost immediately. Throughout the rest of the wedding planning process and the event itself, the Fairmont did not disappoint. From the impeccable professionalism of the catering director (Robert [Bpb] Mikolitch) and his staff, to the incredible menu tasting, to the seamless wedding ceremony and reception, we were continually amazed. Bob was, as I’ve said, the consummate professional and accommodated every special request we had. The rest of the catering team jumped to help at every opportunity throughout the full year during which we worked with them. When our wedding weekend arrived, we had about 110 guests staying at the Fairmont (95% of our guest list was comprised of out-of-towners) and 160 attending the wedding. Not a single guest missed the opportunity to rave to my husband and me about the fantastic weekend they had at the Fairmont. They talked about the service, the quality of the accommodations, and the elegance of the affair for weeks after. Many hadn’t been to DC in years and this was a wonderful re-introduction to the area for them. When the event itself finally arrived, it was a stunning success. Our ceremony and reception were both held in the lovely Colonnade room, where we had the most beautiful wedding I, in all my bias, have seen. But the true testament was the reaction of our guests. We were flooded with emails and texts in the days that followed, all proclaiming that none had been to a lovelier or more elegant wedding. If you choose to have your wedding at here, you will not regret a moment.

I never thought I would have a hotel wedding. Ever. And then I went to the Fairmont to see the Colonnade Room and met Bob Mikolitch. It was basically love at first sight. I am the youngest of three girls and my mom has planned all three weddings and said by far mine was the most well run – all due to the Fairmont! First, the Colonnade room is BEAUTIFUL. Lots of natural light and gorgeous chandeliers. I had wanted a garden wedding feel and this affords that while still being indoors. I loved the elevated dance floor, it worked really well as both our ceremony space and for all the toasts and dancing. The lighting was soft and romantic, we didn’t need to rent any uplighting from our florist. Plus you get the garden space adjacent to the room for the entire night, our cocktail hour was split between there and the Loggia (part of the lobby). I just felt like the structure of the space “flowed” very well. I cannot rave enough about how tight of a ship they run at this place. They do weddings all the time and it’s obvious. When we went for our tasting 4 months prior to the wedding, Bob had ideas about how much time we would need to allot for each thing based on what we wanted to include. He also had good instincts about the order of events. And when I reflect back on the day of, he was absolutely right about these things. The Fairmont kept the event moving along on schedule without it feeling pushy or inconvenient. My groom and I had our own waiter for the evening who would very gently tell us when it was time for entrees to be served, dances to be danced, cake to be cut, etc. And the food! Delicious. And presented so nicely. You get to try several options at your tasting. We wanted to make a few little revisions to the main course and they were perfectly fine with that. Both the Executive Chef and the Pastry Chef attended and spoke with our families, which was above and beyond expectations in my opinion. I showed the Pastry Chef photos of my cake ideas and he said yep, no problem, and brought it all to life. The only thing I wished we could have done is try all of the appetizers, they do not allow you to do that at the tasting because you choose 7 total and I guess it would have been too much to prepare, but honestly this was fine because everything tasted delicious. The descriptions of the appetizers were detailed enough to make a decision on what we wanted. I had a fairly large bridal party (8) so instead of us getting ready in the bridal suite, Bob gave us one of the conference rooms to act as a dressing room. It came with chairs, stools, mirrors and vanities. It worked so well. We hired outside hair and make up to come in. We did have to rent a TV & DVD player from their in house A/V (which was not cheap!) but I suppose it was worth it because it kept us entertained while we all got ready. They also have a transportation company they work with in case you need to hire any shuttle service. They gave us a more than fair room rate for all of our guests. And they were able to grant early check in for many of our guests even though it was a busy weekend in DC. Their customer service was top notch. Really. I felt so welcome and taken care of the entire weekend. Bob was our main point of contact throughout the planning process and also on the day of. He was so professional and on top of his game. Soooooooo happy we chose the Fairmont Hotel Colonnade room for our reception site. The hotel itself provided 5 start service the entire stay and the reception room was gorgeous-- a very unique venue in DC with a raised dance floor and Jeffersonian architecture. The food was outstanding and got rave reviews from guests. But the best part of a wedding at the Fairmont Hotel is Mark Medrick! If I had known how amazing he was going to be I may not have even hired a wedding planner. He was calming on the day of the wedding, always organized, and responded immediately to e-mails during the planning process. Always accessible, always professional. He is a perfectionist and I appreciated that on the day of the wedding-- everything was perfect.

Everything was first-class and sophisticated. I had a beautiful downtown winter wedding and I couldn't have been happier with The Fairmont.

The reception was held at the Colonnade Room of the Fairmont Hotel. It is a beautiful room, surrounded by glass windows featuring a view of a flowering courtyard. The most noteworthy feature is a raised, gazebo-style parquet dance floor in the center of the room. The dance floor features a huge overhead skylight and glittering chandeliers. If your wedding is a nighttime event, the skylight seriously creates the impression of dancing under the stars. It is a beautiful venue and will be perfect in any season.;Be careful, because the prices can quickly add up. There is a minimum total amount that you must meet, so if you don't plan to have a small wedding, you may need to order extra food or opt for some premium upgrades in order to make the minimum. Do not use the chairs that come standard with the Colonnade Room. They are bulky and ugly. Ask the wedding coordinator to bring in 'wedding style' chairs. This will come at an extra cost, but it is worth it and the wedding coordinator will handle it completely. Ask in advance to reserve the courtyard for photos either before or after the ceremony, depending on your preference and depending on the season. It is a beautiful backdrop for photos.
