Farm to Feast was founded by Chef Alexis Starkey who began her career in public relations. After years of working in that industry, she decided to devote herself full-time to her passion for food starting in 2010. She received formal training from the French Culinary Institute of New York and La Scuola Internazionale di Cucina Italiana in Parma, Italy. Her international training did not stop there as she learned about the cuisine in Germany, Mexico, and Turkey. Her diversity of training allows her to craft an array of dishes, all made with an appreciation for local and sustainable ingredients.

We first started working with Farm to Feast to plan an event for 200 people. F2F did an incredible tasting with us and our parents, and we were psyched about what was planned. Yum!! Then COVID hit. Without skipping a beat, F2F, and specicially Seeham (Event Specialist) and Alexis (Head Chef and Owner) pivoted to help us plan a tiny 12-person immediate-family only gathering that retained every bit of deliciousness, variety and magic, while also being super COVID safe. At every step along the way, we felt supported by F2F. They were willing to brainstorm, get creative, listen to our needs, and make sure we had the best possible wedding day. I felt like Seeham, Alexis and the rest of the F2F crew really cared about us as people and really cared about our day going well. Thanks to their attention, thoughtfulness and incredible culinary skills we had the best day of our lives!!
My partner and I opted for a simple wedding but knew that the one element we did not want to compromise on was food. Having local food was very important to us and we secretly hoped that it would also be an amazing dinner for our guests who ran the gamut from farmers themselves to hard to impress DC foodies. Farm to Feast was the best decision we made! Alexis and her team are the rare combination of creative, knowledgeable, practical, flexible, and nothing short of magical in the kitchen. Her advice every step of the way was spot on, helpful, patient, and made me feel confident in our decisions. And I was so grateful that we got to develop a menu that was seasonal, reflective of our own personalities, fun and sophisticated. On the actual day the appetizers and sit down dinner were out of this world! As others have mentioned their vegetarian opinions were particularly creative and enticing and several guest have said that the beef dish was one of the best they’ve ever had. Many are still raving about the food. I have no idea how Alexis managed to execute this flawlessly in a quirky venue and with several surprises including rain showers and 2 unexpected guests. I just know that working with Farm to Feast was a big part of what made the whole wedding planning / wedding reception a wonderfully positive experience. I cannot recommend this caterer enough!
Can't say enough about the professionalism of this group and chef Alexis Starkey! I was kept abreast of every addition and when I asked for changes they were honored. Because of the nature of the venue, we had to rent almost everything. Joey (business manager) and Alexis (chef) were personable, professional, funny, knowledgeable, and down-to-earth! I must admit, we did not participate in a tasting because of my cousin, who used to work for Farm to Feast, recommended them and I know she knows food! I was not disappointed! As we moved among our guest, we heard, "The food is great!" and "I really like this food!" All that And the price was really reasonable! Thank you so much Farm to Feast!
