About this vendor
Located in Washington, DC, Fathom Gallery is a contemporary event space that is available as a wedding venue. This unique, multi-level facility is situated in Logan Circle and the Greater 14th Street Historic District. The dedicated venue staff will work with you to create the wedding day experience that you dream of with this flexible space.
This venue is sited within an artistic and cultural hub of Washington, DC, that stretches over 24 blocks. After the Civil War, this area saw urban development including wide, paved roads suitable for automobiles. 14th Street gained a reputation as “Automobile Row”, with dealerships and garages. The current facility is part of a community effort to establish the area as a cultural center. Fathom Gallery is housed in a former brakeshop and renovations retained much of the building’s original signage and architecture. These renovations took place in 2006 under the guidance of proprietors Bill Fischer and Drew Mitchell. This building welcomed the addition of Slipstream in 2015 - a purveyor of craft coffee and libations. For weddings, couples may book the open-plan Gallery, the open-air Rooftop Garden, and the versatile space of the Penthouse.
Fathom Gallery is available to host wedding ceremonies and receptions. The Gallery contains one large open room, a catering kitchen, and a guest bathroom. This can host up to 80 seated ceremony guests, up to 65 seated reception guests, or up to 125 cocktail-style reception guests. The Rooftop Garden features a roof deck. This can host up to 125 seated ceremony guests, up to 40 seated reception guests, or up to 125 cocktail-style reception guests. Furthermore, the Penthouse can be used as a get-ready room, a photo booth space, extra lounge seating, extra dinner seating, and more.
And some exciting news - we recently opened our second venue in the heart of Georgetown! We invite you to check out Fathom Gallery Georgetown’s listing on WeddingWire to find out more about event rentals at our second space.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Fathom Gallery space or the incredible team of women that work there. Fathom Gallery was the perfect venue for our 65 person wedding this fall. It offers a convenient city location but also gives you a quiet, tucked away feel with a beautiful roof deck space. The thing that stood out to us the most was how intimate the space feels, which is exactly the feeling my husband and I wanted to share with our guests in order to make them feel welcome. The interior is just as special as the outdoor roof space, beautiful exposed and white brick provides an ideal blank slate for you to decorate to your vision and with your colors, everything looks great against this backdrop! The venue is also really unique in that the rental includes a lot of tables, chairs, lounge furniture, the option of having an additional room and restroom on the third floor, a fun whiteboard where you can write your menu, or guests can write well wishes or words of advice for the couple, and the opportunity to hang 10 personal photos on the wall. We looked at many venues, and no other venue offered this much opportunity to personalize, and this was important to us and made such an impact on our guests. Finally, the women who operate at the Gallery are absolutely exceptional, the most pleasant group of women to work with which makes wedding planning a breeze. They are warm, friendly, professional, kind, communicative, and efficient. It was so easy to communicate with Emily and Kristen, I always felt like they were open to questions, and I never worried about anything related to the venue because I knew we were in good hands. This took a huge weight off of our shoulders so that we could focus on other things and enjoy the day! Would highly recommend for a wedding, a party, a corporate event, etc, I am so happy we chose Fathom for our wedding day!
Fathom Gallery was the PERFECT venue for our wedding!! It was a COVID wedding, and we had been feeling so deflated by our planning process . Then, we found Kristin, Emily and Fathom Gallery. Kristin was the first venue contact we talked to that was so sweet, flexible, and circled back after our conversation with everything she said she would. Then we actually toured it with Emily, and we were hooked. It was absolutely beautiful, and easily could have held more people.
Throughout our planning process, Fathom was flexible and had clear rules and fees (there were no surprise costs or restrictions), and went above and beyond to make sure we had a special day. Highly recommend choosing Fathom for your next event, wedding-related or not!
This venue is absolutely gorgeous! We couldn't believe how beautiful our ceremony and reception was. The staff at Fathom was incredibly kind and professional, even as we had to reschedule multiple times due to COVID. Fathom is a perfect place to have your special day - we sincerely recommend it! The best part was the personal touch of hanging our engagement pictures on the wall for us. It felt really special.
We had our “microwedding” at Fathom Gallery in the fall and were so happy with our experience! We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather on our wedding day, and the rooftop was the perfect spot for our ceremony (and backdrop for some amazing photos). Not quite sure how to describe it, but the space (both indoor and outdoor) has great energy, and we knew it was the right venue for us after we toured. Kristen was quick and attentive with all of our questions and made the planning process painless!
My wedding at Fathom Gallery was everything I dreamed of and more. Emily and Kristen were available to me at every turn. I couldn’t have asked for a better venue!
What an absolutely amazing experience we had working with the Fathom Gallery to plan our recent October micro wedding! From planning through the day of Kristen and Emily were a joy to work with and put us at ease that everything would be seamless and perfect. The Gallery was such a gorgeous location for our wedding, our pictures are gorgeous both inside the gallery and on the rooftop garden, and our guests enjoyed it equally as much!
The venue was perfect for our micro-wedding!
We loved having an intimate wedding at Fathom Gallery. They were very accommodating with our preferences and we appreciated the unique touches the venue offered.
I am extremely disappointed that I chose this venue for our wedding ceremony and reception. We had planned our wedding from California, so we booked the venue site unseen based off of reviews. Because of this, I feel obligated to write a review based on our experience. Our contract stated "The Gallery' Special Events Manager will be accessible throughout your event. The Manager will ensure that the venue and surrounding site are ready for your event, and will meet with you prior to the beginning of your event. The Manager will be accessible to you at anytime during your event, and a contact number will be given to you to reach the manager if they are away from the venue. The Manager will meet with you again to coordinate the ending of your event." Unfortunately, the special events manager had a medical emergency, which meant NO ONE would be available for our event the entire day. This lead to several issues. First of all, our photographer was unable to meet my husband and his groomsmen at the allocated place next to venue for pictures prior to the ceremony due to no one being able to answer his questions about the venue while trying to set up. Secondly, the alcohol that we had dropped off at the venue for our caterer to serve at our wedding was stolen from Fathom Gallery by the event from the night before. We were not informed that our alcohol had been stolen until less than half an hour before our wedding ceremony, so my husband's groomsmen were busy buying booze with my husband's credit card at the nearest liquor store minutes before our ceremony. Fathom eventually refunded us for the alcohol 5 weeks later. Fathom never took responsibility for the events that followed due to the absence of the special events manager. As far as the rest of the night goes-- my guests had no idea where to put their bags so personal belongings were thrown all over the place, we were unable to figure out how to dim the lights, we couldn't find whiteboard markers for the cabinets which they had advertised, and no one checked in with us or was available for questions. The only apology I received from anyone came two days after the wedding in the form of an email from the event manager which stated "I was very sorry to hear about the alcohol confusion, but from what I understand together we were able to get replacements prior the the bar being open, and the event went well after that point". When we asked for an explanation as to how our alcohol was stolen from the previous night's event, the only explanation we received was that something like that had never happened before. I was very unhappy with how the owner, Bill, treated us after the event when I spoke to him on the phone. If I could do it all over again, I would not choose Fathom Gallery. Their lack of responsibility in regards to not upholding their end of the contract was not only frustrating, but also really disappointing. Brides beware, this is not a venue that will be considerate or respectful to you as a bride in the event that something goes awry. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this venue.
