Firefly Ambiance Event Rental

We cannot recommend Firefly enough! First off, Richard was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Meeting with him was by far one of the most fun aspects of the wedding process. He not only provided us with so many options, but also guidance in regards to making sure we stayed true to our vision. We could not have been happier with every single detail that we chose!

My Wife and I married in New Orleans in October 2022. We had our wedding ceremony at Felicity Church. Our reception celebration was at "Messina's at the Terminal", an event venue on the Lakefront Airport. Messinas is an old art-deco building that has a natural beauty, but we still wanted to dress up the tables and add some lighting for the evening part of the celebration. Our wedding planner recommended a handful of event rental companies, and after much research, we confidently chose Firefly Ambiance! From the start, Richard consulted with us and we told him our vision. During our first meeting, we learned that Firefly Ambiance also does floral for weddings. We decided to go with Firefly for our wedding floral, candles, draping and lighting. Throughout the planning process, Richard was always awesome, accessible and quick to respond when we had questions. When our big day arrived, we were floored in the best way. We knew they would be good, but Richard and the Firefly Ambiance crew exceeded all expectations!! Firefly Ambiance executed our vision perfectly. From the bridal bouquet to the table centerpieces, the floral arrangements were absolutely stunning! Firefly expertly complimented the natural beauty of Messinas, with elegant candle arrangements, draping and uplighting. Everything Firefly added to our wedding was exceptionally beautiful. Richard and Firefly Ambiance, Thank you so much!!

I can’t speak highly enough about Richard and his company. He was incredible from start to finish. Richard walked us through the process and completely delivered our vision. We had concepts but no real idea of how to make our wedding look spectacular and wow our guests. Richard took our concepts and brought them to life putting together a wedding guests could not stop complimenting! We are so grateful for Richard. He also provided us our florals and made the most beautiful bouquets for me and my Maid of Honor. Stop looking for other companies and call Richard! You will be guaranteed a wedding people will talk about for years to come.

My daughter and her wife chose Palmetto's on the Bayou in Slidell for their outdoor wedding and reception. Palmetto's is very lovely and has a unique vibe, but I felt that it could be enhanced with some candles and decor. I found Firefly Ambiance on The Knot and it looked quite interesting. My daughter and I went and had a consultation with Richard. We both knew we wanted a lot of candles and to make everything look romantic and elegant. Firefly has a LOT of choices and Richard helped us to fine tune the look we wanted without ever making us feel pressured or that we were a bother. Richard also made a lot of suggestions that we honestly hadn't thought of. We could tell that his priority was for them to have the most perfect wedding. Richard was even able to help me give them a small surprise, a sofa on the Palmetto's dock for some of their photos. Richard and his crew worked magic! Outside where the ceremony took place was staggered candles on mirrored pedestals, candelabras and candles in pillars at the beginning of the row of chairs and down the aisle. The inside was filled with staggered candles on all of the tables. Richard came to get me before people showed up so that I could see what they had accomplished. I don't know if he always has the time or ability to do that, but I so appreciated it. I could see the whole impact of it before the craziness of that evening began. I did take a few pictures and could kick myself for not taking more. I will have to wait till the photographer sends over the wedding photos. It truly was the most beautiful wedding and reception I have ever been to. I had multiple compliments on the decor, it was a smashing success. I recommend them whole heartedly. Even if you are not sure of what you may want, it's worth an appointment and sit down with Richard to see if he can help. I would suggest going to their Instagram account to see all of the venues they have done. They really are quite amazing. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would!

Richard Bartholomew with Firefly Ambiance is simply the BEST of the BEST. Our wedding planner Caroline Broussard (Iris & Oak) referred us to Richard when we were searching for a chandelier for the Elms Mansion garden gazebo. Happily, we found our chandelier and so much more. When we told Richard that our goal was to create a Tuscan garden in a gorgeous New Orleans mansion courtyard that was already home to a magnificent magnolia and oaks, he ran with the theme - made it happen - bringing our concept to life. Richard took on our October 2022 wedding project with great enthusiasm and from day one made us feel as if ours was the only project he had to work on. He was accessible, quick to respond questions and always very kind, funny and extremely patient. He added beautiful décor elements –extra chandeliers, an unexpected “Tuscan” garden wall as well as providing all of the candles, lanterns and lighting décor and incidentals. Qualities that make Richard a standout designer and staging master are - he listens carefully and has complete confidence in his ability to transform ideas into reality. He provides impeccable and thoughtful execution of all design elements and while seeing the big picture pays careful attention to smallest of details. His décor and lighting elements created a magical space for our dinner reception. Leaf and Petal provided floral arrangements and since he was familiar with Margaret’s style, he was able to beautifully integrate his extensive décor with her gorgeous florals. The combination of her flowers and greenery with his lighting and accessories was perfection. If you are lucky enough to have Richard work with you - he will exceed your expectations and gift you with a stunning and memorable staging for your wedding venue.

I cannot say enough great things about Firefly and Richard. They made my wedding the most beautiful, dreamy, magical event beyond anything I could have dreamed. I decided not to have any florals and solely rely on lighting from Firefly and I was very nervous about how that would turn out. But it turned it to be a glowing beautiful scene like something out of Beauty and the Beast. It was so much better than I could have imagined. If you are debating hiring Firefly, just do it. They were phenomenal throughout the whole planning process and will make all of your wildest wedding dreams come through. Cannot recommend them enough and thank you to Firefly for making my wedding dreams come to true!

Firefly made the best day of our lives the most beautiful day of our lives. We worked specifically with Richard and when I tell you he knocked it out of the park. He was able to translate what was in my brain to the most beautiful tablescapes and venue lighting. He went above and beyond to troubleshoot some issues that came up and made it all happen for us - collaborating with other vendors on our behalf. We had the dreamiest most romantic setup I could have ever wished for. So so happy we chose to work with them and would without hesitation tell anyone looking for a gorgeous, romantic output to sign with them stat.

I loved working with Firefly Ambiance for my wedding. Out of all the vendors I initially reached out to regarding lighting and decor Richard was one of the few that responded to my interest request in a timely fashion. He was a pleasure to talk to during our initial consult call and his proposal completely matched the vision I described. I planned my whole wedding by myself from out of town and wanted to have as few vendors as possible to coordinate things with. Having them also be able to take care of the few floral moments within the design was very helpful. I appreciate Richard always being available by email. I would definitely recommend them for any event.

Okay where do I begin. TLDR: If you're looking for a professional who can make magic happen on any budget, go ahead and hire Richard at Firefly Ambiance. I can't say enough great things about working with him. I didn't have a full blown wedding planner, and being a new bride, I was completely overwhelmed about the direction to go to accomplish the vibe I was going for. From my first call with Richard, he made me feel fully supported and walked me through several options that helped me narrow down certain decision making points. One thing I loved about Richard is that he never tried to sell me on anything; at every step, he suggested ways to make things cost efficient, what to prioritize for the budget based on my vision, and thought of ways to make my vision come to life beyond what I'd thought of. I basically gave him very minimal direction about the warm, magical light vibe I was going for, and he executed. He also didn't get upset when I called him various times with decision making questions; he validated me and reassured me about the decisions we'd made. About a week before my wedding, we realized we had not talked through a rain plan for my outdoor ceremony; due to the rain forecast, we weren't able to carry out the initial ceremony candles in the way I wanted to. But despite the constraints, he thought on his feet and found a way to use them in a way that still made the space feel magical. I can't thank Richard enough, he was a dream to work with!

Firefly was a pleasure to work with. Richard had amazing ideas for our daughter's wedding which we incorporated and the end result was gorgeous. Firefly has so many beautiful things that made the wedding exactly what we dreamed and hoped for. Thank you again for your attention to detail!

WOW! Where do I begin? Richard with Firefly Ambiance is absolutely amazing! From my first phone call with him, I knew he had to do my florals and event rentals. Throughout the planning process, he made everything so easy and was a breath of fresh air. He gave his honest opinion and executed every detail of what we planned! Firefly's work blew me away- it was more than I even expected. My guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the venue was, as the lush candles set the ambiance in addition to the gorgeous floral arrangements they created. As a bride, my favorite part of the planning process was designing the space with my vendors- especially Richard. I felt lucky to work with Richard at Firefly and I had my dream wedding because of his talented work.

I reached out to Firefly Ambiance early on in my wedding planning process, without really knowing what it is I wanted or how to go about starting a conversation regarding event rentals, and my gosh am I glad I did not delay! After my initial inquiry, I had a phone call with Richard, who turned out to be my wedding planning knight in shining armor. Richard spent an exorbitant amount of time over the last two years (thanks to COVID) patiently discussing all of the reception details with us, listening to my vision, providing tons of ideas and advice, answering my unending number of questions, and ultimately turning my wedding day dream into a reality. Richard also took the lead on my flower arrangements after I told him that I had not yet booked a florist and was avoiding doing so because it felt like Pandora's Box. He was extremely reassuring throughout the entire process, and made some of the more daunting details and decisions fun and easy. Our guests were blown away by the cocktail hour and reception design, décor and florals. It has been just shy of a month from our wedding and we are still getting calls from family and friends talking about how beautiful and elegant everything was - which is exactly what I was going for and Richard pulled it off even better than I could have imagined. We truly feel so lucky to have worked with Richard and the Firefly team, we knew we were in good hands from the very start!

Event: We had Firefly Ambiance provide decor and florals for our wedding at Chateau LeMoyne. They decorated the bar room (“Royal Room”), the ballroom (“Dauphine Room”), and the Courtyard. And let me tell you - it was truly stunning! ///////// People: We mostly worked with Richard. Anytime I got anxious about planning or anything wedding-related, one phone conversation with him and it was all better. Richard was so patient with us. I wasn’t sure what I wanted for a decor style or florals, and I showed him photos of things I liked and he said “I got it!”. And yes, he did get it! Better than I could have imagined. So easy to work with and such a lovely person! ///////// Decor / space: We used some of their tables for a Memorial Table and Guest Book Table. We used lots of lanterns and candles throughout the space, some piping and draping around the “stage” area and to cover up a statue. He dreamed up such a dreamy and romantic vibe that really transformed the space to such a beautiful area. And the bouquets & floral arrangements. OH MY GOODNESS. I told Richard “I like purple and white and organic looking” and wow, did he come through. I got SO many compliments on my bouquet - absolutely stunning! And the bridesmaids bouquets were gorgeous! The corsages and boutonnières… just wow. To create what he did during a flower shortage… just, wow. He’s an artist! ///////// Experience: Couldn’t be better. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Wow wow wow! Firefly really hit it out of the park with our wedding! All of the reviews here talk about how wonderful Richard and the team at firefly are - and they are all absolutely right! But they are not just lovely to work with. My wedding looked like a DREAM because of them. Everything twinkled and multiple guests came up to me to tell me how gorgeous the candle and lights were. The venue was large and not a single room felt bare because of the gorgeous candle centerpieces that firefly arranged. Don’t wait a second longer! Book Firefly!

Richard + Firefly are amazing. Our original wedding date was cancelled a few weeks out due to COVID. We had to reschedule a total of 4 times and finally just had our wedding last week (1.5 years later). Firefly was one of the kindest vendors we worked with-- they were understanding of the pandemic difficulties, easy to work with, and did not charge us additional postponement fees. Richard is a hoot to work with and he made light of any conversation! The lighting of our wedding was beautiful and I definitely recommend them. Thanks to Richard + Firefly again!!

Richard from Firefly Ambiance was a pleasure to work with during the process. I was an out-of-town bride and he accommodated my requests to meet at the venue during the dates that I was in town for pre-planning and stayed in contact via phone and email. My wedding guests were in awe of the mood he was able to create for the big day. I didn’t have to worry about taking down or putting up a thing as he took care of everything. This was super important for someone who is not from the area. I would definitely recommend working with Richard and Firefly Ambiance again!

When it comes to Richard and the team at Firefly Ambiance, there truly are no words to adequately express what gorgeous perfection they delivered for my partner and I on our wedding day. We had originally planned a wedding for October of 2020, which we had to cancel due to the pandemic. When we rescheduled for November 2021, my partner and I made the difficult decision to not have any guests, and instead to LIVEstream for friends and family. Many of our loved ones watching had never been to New Orleans and thanks to Richard and the way his brilliant lighting evoked everything from the streetlights of the French Quarter to the elegance of stately mansions in the Garden District to the spooky tones of a swamp, all out friends and family are now desperate to get to NOLA and witness the city for themselves because Richard made them fall totally in love with New Orleans. In other words, Richard not only delivered gorgeous lighting, but he also created a world for our guests to be transported into that translated over the LIVEstream, as well as a world for my partner and I to enjoy during our ceremony and reception. The lighting worked wonders to turn our wedding into a rich experience that felt so romantic, atmospheric, and truly transported us to another world. Best of all, not only was the lighting executed absolutely gorgeous, evocative, and above and beyond our wildest hopes and dreams, but Richard was an absolute pleasure to work with - creatively genius, inspired, thoughtful, and so collaborative. From the bottom of my heart, I cannot recommend Richard and the team at Firefly Ambiance highly enough - they are truly lighting wizards with hearts of gold to boot.

Firefly Ambiance were amazing to work with! When I reached out with an inspiration photo of what I wanted, Richard was confident they could complete the candle decor around the fountain as pictured. They exceeded expectations! It was absolutely beautiful and the center point of our venue and ceremony area. We got married in May at Southern Oaks and had a date change from March last minute. Firefly Ambiance made changes to make it work and were so kind during the process. I can’t even begin to describe how happy I am that I chose Firefly Ambiance for my wedding. Walking into my venue I was blown away by the decor and how it made everything whole. Richard found a way to make my reception very cozy and intimate which was everything I ever wanted for my wedding. He took the initiative to contact the venue to see when he would be able to set up, leaving me nothing to worry about. The decor exceeded what I had imagine in my head by tenfold. It was absolutely beautiful.

I used to think that I didn't need an event rental vendor for my wedding, but Firefly brought my whole vision together seamlessly. He took care of centerpieces, fireplace mantel decor, guestbook/memorial tables, cake table candles, extra seating which included pub tables and high boys, ceremony drapery, a crystal chandelier, and he even suspended a large gold frame for our photobooth. Firefly Ambiance was one of our favorite vendors to work with, and their execution had our guests blown away! Richard is so easy to work with and gave me great ideas from Day 1. I had to change my venue just 2 months before our wedding due to COVID-19, and he rolled with it by creating a whole new floor plan. He probably created 5 versions of our proposal since our intro call. I was worried about creating a COVID-friendly environment on the dance floor, so he put two pub tables around the dance floor and extra high boys to help break it up and they were perfect! I had guests asking me if he could decorate their house lol. Richard is a blast to work with, but most importantly, he's talented beyond measure and you can see that through his work. The whole Firefly Team also setup and broke down the venue with no issues. I highly recommend that you reach out to Firefly Ambiance to setup an intro call and experience this for yourself! They won't let you down.

We worked with Firefly for our 200 person wedding for candles and lighting and then after we had a plan set up, we immediately had to change everything as we had to downsize for COVID restrictions. The team at Firefly was completely unfazed and were very understanding and accommodating as we worked through plan b. The end result was absolutely stunning that hard to cbelieve it was our second plan! Cannot recommend their team enough and how awesome they are at what they do!

I wish I could put into words how amazing Richard was, but it's honestly impossible. He's helped us plan (and re-plan, and re-plan again) our rehearsal dinner all with the patience and flexibility of a yoga instructor. When we walked into our rehearsal dinner that evening, my fiance immediately looked at me and said "This is the most beautiful dinner I've ever been to, I totally understand why you love Richard so much. They did an amazing job". To have this compliment come from the guy that didn't understand why we needed flowers at all for our wedding, this was huge. I will forever recommend Firefly Ambiance to my friends getting married in New Orleans, they went above and beyond every vendor we worked with, and we can't wait to work with them again next year.

Firefly Ambiance was an absolute treasure! SUCH a joy to work with!! My fiance and I originally had plans for a much larger wedding in Orleans Parish...Richard really came in to the planning process exactly when I needed him! It was more like a phone call with a friend. He completely put me at ease, listened to what my vision was, and answered questions I didn't even know I had. He explained what would work best in our space based off of the myriad of ideas I had floating around. We eventually had to move our venue and downsize due to Covid, but the team at Firefly rolled with the punches and created something so beautiful!! My guests were all wowed with our Plan B. I cannot stress it enough, I would choose Firefly Ambiance again and again!

If I could give Firefly Ambiance 6 stars I would! They were such a pleasure to work with and I'm still getting compliments on our reception and ceremony décor. They also handled all of our floral arrangements, which were incredibly beautiful. Everything was absolutely stunning and they really went above and beyond! We did a destination wedding in New Orleans, so I was anxious about not being intimately familiar with the ceremony and reception spaces and layout, and I didn't have a solid vision regarding décor, but that was before I met the amazingly talented, Mr. Richard Bartholomew. The second I spoke with Richard, I was no longer stressed. After a short talk, it was clear that he understood the vision and vibe I was going for and all anxiety was lifted. I could tell right away that he knows what he's doing, and while I tend to err on the side of controlling and involved in every detail, I was happy and comfortable with leaving it up to him and letting him work his magic. Everything was even more incredible than I could have imagined and I was blown away entering both the reception and ceremony venues! Richard also did all of our beautiful wedding flowers; bouquets, boutonnieres, table centerpieces, ceremony podium, etc... AND since we aren't from the area, he helped us find a caterer for our welcome party, a reverend, and a cupcake vendor. Richard knows the city and has experience working with these vendors and all of his suggestions were spot on. He has an eye for detail, knows his flowers, and is the utmost professional. He was very kind, helpful, and easy to communicate throughout the whole process. I highly recommend Firefly Ambiance and Richard for décor and florals for any event. I don't have enough great things to say about them.

Richard is just the most creative and talented man!!! I was planning our wedding in the middle of the pandemic and Richard never faltered and was available by phone or email at any time. He never doubted that our wedding would happen and really delivered the day of the wedding!!! We used candlelight everywhere with several lounge areas and flowers on Harlow stands. Everything was just beautiful and I was thrilled when I walked through the door of the venue and saw everything in place!!! Richard is a dream to work with and was instrumental in making sure our wedding was fabulous. You can trust him to deliver on your special day!!!

This was the last vendor we had to book for our wedding reception, and it was under a month until the actual date. Since this was a destination wedding for us, it was important that email and phone conversations were happening in a timely manner. Richard from the start was prompt, suggestive, professional and so friendly. He has a ton of experience with wedding venues and working with other vendors to make the look overall what his client envisions. I had to stay within a budget, and he was very conscious of that. His work was breathtaking and exactly what i wanted. We finally met him in person at the end of my reception evening when he was coming to tear everything down, and he couldn't have been any kinder. I highly recommend working with this vendor who fully understands budgets, venues, ideas and is professional.

Firefly Ambiance was amazing to work with. Richard helped us design and plan the perfect decorations for my daughter's wedding. We used many many candles and lanterns, vases, uplighting, GOBO projector, and the wall shelving with candles. Everything was beautiful for a candlelight winter reception. Richard was also great at giving us ideas to stay within our budget but still have the ambiance we wanted. I will use Firefly Ambiance again for other functions.

Firefly was an absolute pleasure to work with, Richard made planing our lighting and table decor an absolute breeze. He was extremely helpful and brought my vision to life. He took the time to meet with us in person to show us all his different pieces we could choose from and went above and beyond. Definitely recommend- SO beautiful.

I rented one of Firefly Ambiance's boxwood champagne walls for my wedding on 10/19/2019, and it added so much to my event! They arrived at the venue & set up the entire thing very quickly. I had a fantastic experience with this vendor & they have some beautiful things to enhance your event!

Firefly did the lighting decor at our 35th anniversary vow renewal at the Ogden Museum's Patrick Taylor Library. It was magical!!! I can't say enough how wonderful everything looked, and it was beyond my expectations. This was our first wedding, and completely beyond my wildest dreams.

Firefly made my dream wedding a reality. They set up gorgeous drapery, chandeliers, life-sized trees, and candelabras. Richard was professional and amazing to work with. Everything was set-up and ready to go well before it needed to be. They were respectful of the space that they were working in, and were careful while setting up (not to hit doorways, chip paint, etc--which is not always guaranteed with other vendors). Their prices are fair, but expect to pay for quality. If you want to add that something extra to really dazzle your guests, their ideas are endless, and the results are simply stunning. We don't have enough great things to say about Firefly. We didn't want flowers and knew we wanted candles. The package we got took a beautiful courtyard and made it absolutely stunning. We worked with Richard throughout getting everything done. He was super patient and attentive to what we were asking for. The customer service from his was unparalleled. Working with Richard was amazing! Starting out, I had a vague idea of how I wanted the decor to look, but it was like he read my mind when putting the proposal together. On the day of, everyone commented on how spectacular the candles were and our photos are just beautiful. I could not have been happier with the end results.

Richard helped capture my vision for the reception perfectly. I wanted candles to give the "romantic" sense as our reception venue was a large ballroom. The candles truly enhanced the mood! We wanted our winter evening reception at Race + Religious to glow with the warmth of candlelight. Richard looked at a photo of my dress to understand our wedding mood. We exchanged ideas and photos; he is friendly and made the process a pleasure. He envisioned how our lighting and flowers would together create a romantic tropical night. Richard was personally invested in designing a beautiful milieu. We loved our lighting--candlelight everywhere, silvery votive accents and star-like bistro lights high overhead. Our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding reception they had ever seen-enchanting!

Firefly is the place to choose for decor and lighting! Richard was wonderful in helping us stay in budget but providing a beautiful atmosphere for our daughters wedding! You will not go wrong choosing firefly for your decorating needs!

Absolutely wonderful to work with! I had my initial phone call and they were very informative and helped be decide on an overall plan. They were understanding throughout the entire process even when I adjusted the quote several times including the day before the wedding. I knew I wanted to make the day as easy as possible for my family and friends, I did not want anyone to have to help decorate or set up and firefly was the answer! The set up and tear down was very smooth. I can not recommend them enough. Everything was beautiful and I’ve had so many compliments from friends.

We used Firefly for our ceremony and reception at Latrobe's and were completely blown away with how stunning the decor was. We wanted a lot of candles and they completely delivered. They were so easy to work with and made everything look better than I could have imagined.

We got married October 7 2018 at bourbon Orleans hotel in the St Anne cottage. There was a black wall behind a fountain that I wanted to do something beautiful and dramatic with. I saw what other brides had done and then I began looking at the wedding decor companies in New Orleans. I found fire fly ambiance and they had these beautiful white manzanita trees that I knew would look incredible. I spoke to Richard at firefly and he was very patient as I thought the trees over for about month and worked them into the budget and finally choose to rent them. Before the wedding Richard went to the venue to make sure everything was ok and see if there was any needed changes to accommodate the trees. On the day of the wedding I didn’t even hear from firefly, they completely worked out everything with the hotel and didn’t need to contact me on such a busy day. They were absolutely perfect. I cannot say enough about the service firefly provides and the level of professionalism. They know what they are doing and the prices may be a bit high but it is completely worth it. Thank you so much!!
