Fish Hawk Acres

We were beyond thrilled with the service we received from Fish Hawk Acres. From start to finish, they were professional as well as kind and respectful of our budget and our needs. We honestly couldn’t have picked a better catering team. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully displayed. Try the gourmet Mac n’ cheese, you won’t regret it. Debbie, the catering manager, went above and beyond our expectations. She was very attentive to our ideas, and was very understanding when I made a mistake in the final guest count. We plan to visit the Fish Hawk market every anniversary, and maybe between anniversaries, just to get more of that fantastic food. Everyone at the wedding raved about it, and there was plenty of food.

Dale is such a talented chef! We had so many compliments on the food. Not only did he deliver a flawless fruit display and cheese board for the bridal party while getting ready, he also nailed the cocktail hour and main dinner! We had a roast chuck tenderloin that even impressed my dad with it's tenderness and juiciness and that's really hard to do. I wish I could eat their mac & cheese every day. The display of the food buffet was also above and beyond. Thank you, Dale & staff, for the amazing food!

We used Fish Hawk Acres for our wedding reception because we really wanted a whole hog BBQ for the reception. Dale and his team worked so hard to make this happen for us and helped us plan the rest of the menu - including appetizers and the full dinner. The pig was absolutely amazing (and huge!) and the remainder of the food was fabulous. Everyone we talked to was amazed at how good the food was. I highly recommend using them, the food was great and the service was friendly.

We used Fish Hawk Acres for our October wedding at the Morning Glory Inn in Pittsburgh, Pa. Before I chose the caterer I did a thorough internet review and they no longer have a website due to the website managers unfortunate demise. That said, their Facebook page is regularly updated and has a lot of pictures of the food. I called and Theresa quickly sent me the starting point menus. Everything looked delicious! My now husband was deployed and Dale still held the date for us without a deposit, contract, etc. - this was amazing and such a great help for us! I planned the food alone with Dale and Theresa and then my fiancé and mum requested two small changes to the menu, which they easily made. Dale and Theresa are both so nice and easy to work with and had such great recommendations after hearing what we were trying to achieve. Due to my unfortunate work schedule, we never did a tasting so we were not sure what to expect. The day of the wedding we didn't have any appetizers or dessert, but tried every single item for dinner and they were all delicious! The following day, I was able to sample all of our desserts, minus the gelato of course, and they were so good that I wished we had saved more of them! My parents are still receiving compliments on the food and it's almost a full month after the wedding! The only reason that I didn't give five stars was that there were a few things that happened that I didn't love. I had done all of the coordination with Dale and due to the opening of their new storefront, he didn't come to the wedding, Theresa did an amazing job but I would have preferred to know in advance that he wasn't going to come at least. My parents were eager to meet him as well and were a bit disappointed at first. Also, I had requested that a tip jar not be put out since it was an open bar and I wanted to tip the bartender myself instead of rolling the dice with our guests (I was told that it's not customary for the guests to tip at an open bar, but who knows); however, this didn't happen so in the end I didn't tip the bartender, which is what a friend who is a wedding planner suggested that I do. Dale did go above and beyond helping me to resolve a last minute plate issue, but him not being there with no prior notification was a bit of a sticking point for me. Otherwise, I'd have given five stars. The food was AMAZING, both Dale and Theresa are professional and easy to work with, and I think that the cost for the quality and quantity of the food received is spot on. I highly recommend this company!
