A Los Angeles native, Heather Wong started her career in 2007 with her popular blog and custom dessert delivery service, The Scootabaker, with flavors highlighting her Chinese and Mexican heritage.
She spent time creating & developing at many bakeries, including Bottega Louie, Sweetsalt, Cascabel, and Josephine Bakery serving as Executive Pastry Chef. She can also be seen making it to the semi-finals on season 4 of the perennial fan favorite Spring Baking Championship on The Food Network.
Opening FLOURING in the summer of 2020, Heather aims to focus on a Southern California inspired taste and aesthetic, using only sustainably sourced, organic ingredients from local farmers and vendors. Happily serving the Los Angeles community for over 10 years, and now head of a small, women-led team.

We absolutely LOVED our wedding cake, and it turned out SO STUNNING. We got the passionfruit flavor, and all of the guests raved about the cake. We have an Asian family (South Asian, East Asian, SE Asian), and our family were very particular about not wanting to have desserts that felt too sweet. Our families were absolutely obsessed with it, and all of our friends loved it as well.
They absolutely killed all our wedding desserts! Each flavor was so delicious including the insanely beautiful 2 tier black sesame cake. We got overwhelming compliments on how delicious and beautiful the cakes were. 3 days later and they r are moist and delicious. The process was easy, execution was perfect, and every interaction was kind and stressfree. You definitely won’t regret choosing them for your wedding!
The Flouring LA team is phenomenal! Their cakes are moist and artfully elegant. We got a classic, two-tier wedding cake with their classic petals design. We chose the lemon-lavender and taro-coconut flavors, and both were a true hit at our garden wedding. The Flouring team delivered the cake to our venue with care and were extremely easy to work with. Also, you can order regular cake boxes with seasonal flavors, and my husband and I order them for our birthdays now. Look them up on Instagram asap!
Flouring was able to take our order for a wedding we only had 3 months to plan. They were professional and worked with us to have three tiers all different flavors. The lemon lavender was delicious and beautiful, the cookies and cream was very tasty, and of course the couples funfetti was absolutely fun and fabulous. We wanted a simple yet elegant cake and they delivered. The best part though was the groom who has a nut allergy they really listened and worked with us to make sure the groom could enjoy his cake on his day too. They're awesome local and women owned, definitely give them a try.
Heather makes beautiful delicious cakes. They made a lovely 2 tier signature cake with elegant floral decor for my outdoor wedding in Los olivos. I am such a big fan that I had my friend drive it up from LA instead of using a local vendor. I’ve been a fan since they did the dessert box pop ups. Everyone loved the cake and it was a real jewel in the crown. And heather pulled it off for a much better price than other spots.
Flouring nailed it! The cake I received for my wedding looked identical to the inspiration I sent them. It was actually so beautiful that we decided not to add florals to it. Communication with Flouring was quick, easy, and professional. We ended up choosing cookies & cream and superfetti for our cake and our guests loved it! I can't recommend Flouring enough!
I tried Flouring’s Lemon Lavender cake a few years ago and it instantly became a favorite! So, when it was time to pick a wedding cake, Flouring was the first bakery I reached out to. Cortney (Event Coordinator) was amazing to work with from the very start of our interactions! When my original vision was unfortunately out of my budget, she was so understanding and super helpful / genuine in providing different options for us. In the end, the final cake was SO beautiful, tasted a-mazing and we had plenty to serve our guests. We settled on a 7" & 9" 2 tier Lemon Lavender cake with a supplemental sheet cake of Devil’s Buttermilk Chocolate cake. We received many compliments on how it was the best wedding cake our guests have ever tasted and we couldn’t agree more! Thank you Cortney and Chef Heather for creating a beautiful cake for us!!
Flouring were so easy and accommodating to work with. We actually had a scare with our first baker having to pull out and Flouring stepped up to the plate fantastically. Will definitely eat their cakes in the future and happy to recommend.
We had the most AMAZING & BEAUTIFUL wedding cake made by Flouring. They made everything so simple and easy from design, to ordering, delivery, everything was so great. The cake is unbelievable. The flavors are so unique and delicious. The design was executed to perfection. We would and do recommend Flouring to everyone we know!
Flouring LA was so patient and accommodating to my needs while we were working with them to create a custom two-tier weeding cake. We loved the passion fruit flavor and the pressed floral design was beautiful. The cake was a hit with our guests and loved working with them!
When it came to choosing a vendor for our wedding cake, there was no question that we wanted it to come from Flouring. We had ordered dessert boxes from Heather and her team in the past, and literally everything that we've tasted is delicious. Ordering the cake and pickup was super easy, and we got so many compliments on how beautiful it was. Can't wait to order something from them again!!!

We have ordered several cakes from FlouringLA and they do not disappoint. This is our first order for a wedding cake and it was magnificent and delicious! We ordered the Passion Fruit three tiered cake. It was truly a work or art; it did not require any additional embellishments and was admired by all. The staff (Cortney) is a pleasure to work with. She is very professional and makes certain that everything is perfect. I would highly recommend FlouringLA without reservation.
My husband and I hired Flouring LA to create our New Year's Eve wedding cake and were completely blown away! Their incredible chef, Heather Wong, listened to all of our ideas and created 3 stunning sketches to choose from. They also provided us with so many unique flavors! We ended up going with a Strawberry Cake with Lemon Buttercream and Passion Fruit Crémeux. Our guests said it was one of the best wedding cakes they've ever had and we agree! So if you're looking for a show-stopping wedding cake with incredible flavors, look no further! 5/5 all around!
I was so thrilled with how our wedding dessert table came out. We used Flouring and Chef Heather Wong because we wanted unique desserts that our guests would love. Tåhe experience from the first phone calls was professional, fun, and informative. We ordered the cutest box to sample the deserts, cakes and frostings and it was such a fun way to try the desserts and discuss them in our own home. Plus, everything tasted so good, the hardest part was narrowing down to what we loved most. We ended up with a funfetti cake with a lavender frosting and a strawberry cake with lemon frosting... there was nothing leftover. We also opted for a selection of desserts and those were also enjoyed by guests, people especially loved the brownies with the meringue top, they are the things any chocolate lover dreams of! The cake was decorated to perfection, and she does beautiful artistry with sugar, depending on what you can dream up. Everything was perfect and I have continued to purchase through them for holidays and their incredible mail order box experiences. I would highly recommend Flouring and Chef Wong and her team, they were as amazing as their confections!
