We worked with Allison McDonald of Flourish Events for our multi-day fusion wedding at Knotting Hill, and she was excellent at managing the complexity and logistics of our celebrat...ion. Our weekend included five major events (Haldi, Mehndi, Sangeet, Hindu and American ceremonies, and reception), each with different vendor setups, timelines, and cultural requirements, and Allison coordinated it all seamlessly from start to finish.
Her biggest strength was juggling multiple vendors at an à la carte venue where we had complete freedom to bring in anyone we wanted. On Friday alone, we had Taco Buddha, Honest vegetarian catering, Indian bangle cart vendors prepping for the next day, and multiple decor teams all coming in at different times. We appreciated being able to have all these moving parts handled so well without us needing to track down each vendor individually. She kept everyone on schedule, communicated logistics clearly, and made sure each setup transitioned smoothly into the next. When we walked into each event, everything just looked beautiful without any last-minute stress or confusion.
Allison’s experience with multicultural and fusion weddings really showed throughout the planning process and execution. She understood the cultural significance of each ceremony and worked thoughtfully to make sure both families felt their traditions were honored and represented. Her familiarity with the Indian wedding community in St. Louis was particularly valuable. She knew which vendors could deliver on specific cultural elements and had existing relationships that made coordination much smoother.
At times during the planning phase, we would have appreciated more proactive suggestions or additional vendor options presented upfront to help us compare choices, but once decisions were made, her ability to execute was absolutely flawless. She kept timelines tight, anticipated potential issues before they became problems, and maintained a calm, professional presence throughout the weekend that kept us relaxed.
In terms of investment, Allison and her team are priced higher than other coordinators in St. Louis. We used her coordination-only package, where she managed vendors after contracts were signed rather than being involved in the initial selection process. While her connections to the Indian community and her experience with fusion weddings made her worthwhile, we do think the pricing could have been a bit more competitive given the local market. That said, for the peace of mind and smoothness of execution we received, we understood the value of what we were paying for.
If you’re planning a fusion or multi-day wedding with six to ten vendors or more, especially at a venue without preferred vendor lists or strict requirements, Allison is an excellent choice. She’s detail-oriented, unflappable under pressure, and will make sure your complex celebration runs smoothly without you needing to micromanage the details. Her cultural competency and vendor relationships in the Indian wedding space are real assets that are hard to find elsewhere in the region.
Thank you, Allison, for making our weekend so memorable and helping us celebrate our marriage across both of our cultures with grace and professionalism!
