Flowers Make Scents was absolutely WONDERFUL to work with. They brought my vision to life in such a beautiful way. They made sure everything was perfect and exactly how I wanted it and were timely and thorough on the day of the wedding.

Flowers Make Scents was a great florist to work with! The bouquet, rose petals and center piece displays were amazing. They encouraged us to view our flowers the day before and we're really glad that we did. Seeing our flowers ahead of time helped us make sure that they looked perfect for our special day.

We absolutely loved our flowers for our wedding. They exactly understood our color scheme and the types of bouquets and decorations we were going for. They were true artists and the flowers the day of more than met our expectations. They even crafted beautiful creations for our dogs to wear, who were included in our photos! We highly recommend!

The flowers at my wedding were above my expectations! I work with Sherri for months updating my order. She even was able to make many of my Pinterest goals come true, including a 6-foot greenery arbor for out photo booth background. There were so many extra details that I didn’t even know about! This is a great company to work with!

Flowers Makes Scents did a wonderful job on our flowers. I sent them photos of what I wanted, and the flowers came out looking EXACTLY like the photos I gave them. They were so beautiful, and priced very reasonably as well. They even let you come preview them the day before the wedding so we could make sure they looked just like we wanted.

Flowers Make Scents in Richmond Virginia totally made our wedding so beautiful, and at such great prices. They are Pros all the way, but what made a real difference was the last-minute problem solving and flexibility they had. My daughter and husband had ordered a cake topper but it did not fit the top of the cake, so they put some beautiful blooms on the cake, and then took the cake topper and put it in some greens and it looked great on the welcome table. Also, I wanted some blooms on silver lanterns and they created something so beautiful that didn't overwhelm the lantern, using small magnets to connect the flowers. Shari and Katie were both great to work with, patient with me, and friendly. Again they took away so much stress with their creative problem-solving and also their artistic talent! A Grateful Mother-of-the-Bride!

I was married a week ago and my bridal bouquet still looks just as beautiful! I was so impressed with how all of our centerpieces and flowers were presented and even packaged to the wedding venue. The colors were perfect and everything was so fresh. Flowers Make Scents has a great team and the best for weddings!

My daughter had her wedding in May and I cannot say enough good things with the service and the flowers. During our initial meeting, my daughter showed pictures of ideas she was thinking for her flowers. Shari was very attentive to what my daughter wanted and made some amazing suggestions. The bouquets were amazing! There was a small situation which Shari went above with Customer service ensuring all was perfect. I highly recommend this florist if you are in need of Flowers in the Richmond area.

We loved working with Shari on our wedding arrangements! She understood our vision from our first meeting, and her suggestions were helpful and on-point. She understood our budget and worked within it creatively, and our flowers looked incredible! Shari was amazing to work with. She is a very talented florist and all of the flowers for my wedding were absolutely breathtaking. She has an eye for beauty and really listens to your vision and makes it a reality. I was so happy with my bouquets, boutonnieres, table arrangements and mantel arrangement. Shari did a WONDERFUL job with our flowers! We had her do our rehearsal dinner and our wedding, and everyone kept complementing on how fresh and beautiful our flowers looked. Caveat: My review has nothing to do with the quality of the vendor's work. It focuses on simply attempting to schedule an initial consultation. I emailed the vendor at the beginning of April about getting a floral consultation for my wedding this September. The scheduling person emails me back pretty fast asking when I would be available during their business hours. I respond with my availability for the rest of the week and early next week on the same day and I get the out of office email saying this person would be out of town until middle of next week. I am a little annoyed, but fine I can wait. Next week comes around and again I email this person asking for a time to meet for consultation. I don't get a response until the beginning of the third week of April, but she offers to schedule something with me for the last week of April since they have some availability. I offer a couple days that I know I am free, but don't hear back from her until Monday of the 4th week of April offering a time for Wednesday afternoon of the same week. I email same day saying yes that would be acceptable. I literally get an email Wednesday morning (the day of our supposed scheduled meeting!) apologizing that the vendor is all booked up until the end of May for a consultation. Seriously!?! Why were you stringing me along for the whole month of April? To recap my review: I have literally been trying to schedule an initial consultation since the beginning of the month and when I thought I had one, they cancel it on me on the same day it was supposed to happen. I am lucky my workplace has flexible hours and that I checked my personal email this morning or else I would have left work early for nothing. I guess I wasn't much of a priority for them when it came to scheduling meetings. This place needs to work on its communication. If they couldn't fit me into their busy calendar, I would have liked to know that in the beginning rather than be strung along for almost a whole month in hopes of getting just one meeting.

I had my wedding in October 2017... the flowers were fresh and the team knew exactly what I wanted with just a few photos form pinterest! prices are reasonable, team is reliable and really work with you and your budget to make your dream day come true! I provided a photo of my gorgeous and full bouquet for my wedding. :)

Flowers Makes Scents used their knowledge and skills to bring to life my vision for an elegant and simple decor using white flowers and eucalyptus. The lady who set up my flowers arrived well in advance, and was very professional. I enjoyed my flowers the entire week after my wedding. They were so gorgeous!

These girls were AWESOME! They took all of my idea photos and turned my bouquets into some then even more beautiful than I imagined. They were not too costly and super easy to work with. I loved everything about my flowers for my reception! I would continue to go to them for everything!

Flowers Make Scents did a great job on my wedding flowers. I'm not a big flower person, so I knew from the beginning that I would need a great florist to help me come up with a vision for that part of the wedding. All I gave them was a color scheme, my budget, and a couple of photos, and they did the rest. I was speechless when I saw my bridal bouquet for the first time. The only reason I didn't give all five stars is because they were a bit slow to respond to my emails up until about month before my wedding. However, they did have a good reason--it was both prime prom and wedding season when I first began talks with them.

I was beyond pleased with the flowers that Flowers Make Scents provided for my daughter's recent wedding! They were so accommodating to work with from beginning to end, and were really creative and respectful in helping me stay within my budget. I don't have a lot of floral expertise, so I came to our initial consultation armed only with a verbal description and a few photos as a reference. Christine really captured the casual but elegant vision that we were going for. Also, unlike a couple other florist's I had visited; Flowers Makes Scents was also able to provide me with a price quote that very day. They also conveniently delivered to our venue, and provided us use of special vases to use for displaying (and maintaining) the bridesmaid's bouquets as decor during the reception. On the day of the wedding, the girl's bouquets were beautiful, and turned out exactly as my daughter had envisioned them! For the reception tables, a family member had uniquely decorated the centers with an assortment of vintage books and tea cups; but I also wanted to carry out our color scheme with a touch of fresh flowers on every table as well. Rather than use traditional vase arrangements, FMS suggested the perfect splash of color with a fresh hand tied floral sprague that could be worked into the existing decor of each individual table. The hand tied bundles turned out even larger than I had anticipated, and were a perfect compliment to our vintage theme. On a side note; all the wrist and lapel flowers were extremely fresh and held up beautifully during sunny outdoor ceremony; and the ladies corsages all conveniently came with both wrist or lapel attachments. From boutonnieres to bouquets... my experience with Flowers Makes Scents was extremely positive from beginning to end! I highly recommend their services for all floral needs... both big and small!

Flowers Make Scents did an absolutely amazing job. I have always loved flowers and as a young child received them from dad monthly. Needless to say, flowers were a big part of my wedding and I had a clear idea of what they needed to look like. Flowers Make Scents went over and above my expectations. I was thrilled.

Working with Shari and her team at Flowers Make Scents was a lot of fun, and they helped me put together beautiful arrangements without much help from me! I am not very knowledgeable about flowers, and when I went in for our initial meeting, I was worried that this would be a barrier to getting the flowers that I envisioned. Instead of being an obstacle, Shari used it as an opportunity to give advice, and explore different options - she was so easy and fun to work with. When we got to my "review" where we set up some of the ideas we had talked about, her team tweaked and rearranged until we had arrangements that I was in love with. I also had asked the team to work with some paper flowers that my Aunt had made, and they embraced the challenge. I am pretty sure this team is up for any new or quirky idea - and I know they would always make it fabulous. Also, in the last few weeks, I needed some help with some flowers in planters that were in my dad's backyard (my venue). Shari came out at the last minute, looked at what we needed, and made it happen. There was no hassle or fuss - she is so easy to work with. Highly recommend this team to anyone with any type of event where they need beautiful arrangements!

Working with Flowers Make Scents was great - they really listened to what we wanted for our wedding flowers - and everything looked beautiful! I even trusted them with a family bible that they beautifully incorporated into my bridal bouquet. They did deliver the flowers to the church and to my house in the wrong order, but everything got to where it needed to be on time.

Shari and her team at Flowers Make Scents are very flexible and listen to what you're ideas are. She asked for my "floral inspiration" in the form of a Word document so she could make sure she and her team were right on the money. She also allows the Bride to come in a few days before her wedding to take a look & be sure they're on the right track. Shari was great to work with, and I highly recommend her!

The mother/daughter combo at Flowers Make Scents made choosing wedding flowers a breeze. They helped me envision the flowers for our wedding and nailed it! They were beautiful!

These guys are great! I gave them a color Scheme and met with them twice to go over things. I told them i wanted berries and sunflowers, moss, and color. I had given them Wood Vases to work with. The day of the wedding is the first time I got to see everything. They give you the chance to stop in and see everything before hand in case you dont like certain things. I of course didnt have time to go and see what they had put together but, the day of the wedding I was absolutely taken a back by what an amazing job they did putting everything together. It was more than i was expecting. My Bouquet was beautiful too - Full of color & perfect.

I liked our flowers a lot, especially my bouquet. I came into our meeting with the florist with some general ideas and she sat with me and googled images- which was helpful, but I was expecting to see more of their specific work. One the wedding day, the flowers were pretty, but they were not in the colors that I asked for (the ribbons tied around the bouquets were dark brown and they were supposed to be cream; the flowers in the centerpieces were supposed to be light pink and they were bright fushia) or that she had delivered in the sample. It was also a little frustrating that they delivered all of the flowers on the morning of the wedding two hours before they said they would. I was a the hair salon, but my neighbor was home and was able to take the flowers into her house. The delivery drivers dropped off EVERYTHING (including the arrangements that were supposed to go to the church and the boys' boutonnieres) with my neighbor, so we had to have some friends take everything down to the church ourselves that morning. The arrangements were pretty- especially my bridal bouquet- and I was not too picky about the flowers, so everything worked out even though the colors were not exactly correct. All of the confusion with their delivery was frustrating, but luckily my friends and family jumped in to help out!

The staff are very easy and accommodating! I was unsure of how the process would work, but after meeting with this vendor, I felt more comfortable and relaxed. The flowers turned out to be very beautiful!

Flowers Make Scents is by far one of the best vendors for flowers in Richmond, VA! I personally worked with Shari, but the other girls in the shop were super nice and responsive. Shari went through the whole wedding flower process with me from the "look and feel" of the wedding to ordering and pickup/delivery. I felt very comfortable. The shop has limitless options available to fit any budget. I got married at the Jefferson Hotel and decided to go with traditional roses for my bouquets (HOT pink roses). Shari knew just the "type" of rose that would look best (I had NO idea there were so many different hot pink roses out there). I gave her a swatch of the color of the bridesmaids dresses (which were purple) and she did the rest. The bouquets turned out amazing! I also placed a last minute order the week of my wedding for cake flowers and flower girl petals... Flowers Make Scents made it happen in a time crunch! The cake was BEAUTIFUL with the flower additions (same hot pink) and we got the biggest bag of petals for the flower girl!!!! Very reasonable prices, excellent service (even in a time crunch) and FANTASTIC looking product. Highly recommended.

This is the florist that you never break a sweat over. If you say "no hydrangeas", they don't magically sneak in there because they feel it is the "hot flower" de jour. Anyway, they can handle any kind of bride. Are you free spirited with a price range and a color family you want to stick to? You just want to let them have free reign? Then this florist is for YOU! Are you insisting that they replicate an exact piece that you saw in a wedding magazine? Well, you're in luck. They were very good about sticking to the budget and parameters for style and color that I requested. Everything was done in a timely manner. I never did not know where I was in the process with her. Friendly, professional and trustworthy...it was all there. I will note that if you are a bride on a budget (I was), your flowers will still be beautiful. The florists are VERY tasteful!!! They are just good at what they do and can suggest lots of work arounds for pricing purposes. For instance, I wanted to replicate the festive look of tall orchid bunches on centerpieces. I can't afford orchids and instead we did large bunches of baby's breath. Everything was breathtaking.

I knew I didn't want to have very complex wedding flowers (we planned to do our own centerpieces). Shari at Flower Make Scents was easy to work with for all the wedding party flowers. I received several quotes and Flowers Make Scents were a little more expensive. Based on the feedback I had heard from other weddings, it was worth it since I was told they were easy to work with. The day before the wedding I stopped by to see the flowers. I was disappointed at how the alter/buffet arrangement turned out. We were able to get them to change it and they delivered a more appropriate arrangement. I told that all the flowers would be delivered to the church and we would need to have someone transport the cake topper to the reception venue. When we then asked a friend to get the cake topper from the church they were told it had already been taken to the reception venue. Although that was very helpful, it was very frustrating that they had not told anyone. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

I am not as pleased with Flowers Make Scents, as I thought I would be. We did a lot of planning, and color matching, that apparently did not go accordingly. The centerpiece colors were flip flopped. So instead of fuschia pink flowers with sprigs of white, they were white with random RED flowers. And the size of my bridal bouquet was much smaller than planned and still quite expensive. The people that work there are definitely nice, and I would still use them for small flower arrangments.

I use them for everything, including my wedding that's out of town.

I had a terrible experience with Flowers Make Scents and would highly recommend going elsewhere for your flower needs if you are considering them. I planned my wedding in Virginia from Illinois, so I had limited time to meet with them. They did fit me in when I was in town, but also made me feel rushed when I was there as if meeting with me was an inconvenience. I didn't know a lot about flowers, so I was mainly concerned about the colors of the bouquets and arrangements and thought I could leave the specific flower selections up to the experts. We went over everything and the owner showed me pictures of the flowers she suggested. Despite feeling rushed, I wasn't really worried about anything leading up to the wedding day. It was what we received that I was upset about. Here's a list of all the things that were wrong: 1. We ordered a flower arrangement for our cheese and fruit table and showed them a picture of an arrangement they had done before for another wedding we had been to. My mother went in to the shop the day before the wedding and happened to see it in the cooler. She told them it was way too small for what we needed and she was assured it would be changed. When it arrived on the day of the wedding, no changes had been made and the venue staff had to modify it so it didn't look disproportionate on the table. 2. We had 2 arrangements in vases that were set up on pedestals for our makeshift altar in our outdoor ceremony. We were assured that these arrangements would be weighted, however they came in round based vases with no weight. Just before the ceremony, it fell and the vase shattered. Our venue found another vase to replace it and attempted to weight it, but it almost fell again during the ceremony. Luckily one of the groomsmen caught it when he saw it staggering. 3. We had a very specific contract outlined that included the colors and specific flower types that should go into the bride bouquet and the bridesmaid bouquets. My bride bouquet was supposed to be ivory and pale yellow roses, rannunculous, and freesias, etc. The bridesmaid bouquets were supposed to be bright yellows so they stood out against mine. Instead mine was some ivory and some bright yellow and bridesmaids had the pale yellow that was supposed to me in mine along with some bright yellow. There was not enough contrast. The main complaint about the bouquets, though, was that I ended up with yellow tulips in my bouquet. By the end of the ceremony, the tulips were wilting and drooping down out of the bouquet. I didn't realize it at the time, but in all of my photos after the ceremony, the bouquet looks terrible. The flowers drooping out of the bouquet is very messy looking and I've spent unreasonable amounts of time trying to photoshop the photos so that I don't fixate on the flowers instead of the event the photo is supposed to be capturing. The bride bouquet was also barely bigger than the bridesmaid bouquets. 4. A couple weeks after the wedding, I received an email from Flowers Make Scents asking me to review their services on a website. I felt bad tearing them apart on the internet without expressing my disappointment to them first, so I wrote them an email outlining why I was not satisfied. I did not ask for money back, but just wanted to let them know that I was unhappy with their product. I never heard anything back from them acknowledging my email. They are very unprofessional. Go elsewhere if you are considering using them for your wedding!

The photos of their floral arrangements are amazing!

Flowers Make Scents did an excellent job with our arrangements, bouquets, and boutonnieres. We were working with them mostly via email, as the planning took place in Georgia for a wedding in Virginia, and they were incredibly helpful and understanding all along the way. They took the ideas we presented to them and ran with them, and the end result was exactly as I'd pictured our flowers would look. They arrived right on time to drop off the flowers, everything was in excellent condition, and the flowers all held up really well throughout the hot Richmond day. They did an excellent job!

From out initial meeting they knew exactly what I was looking for! I had a beautiful purple orchid bouquet and my bridesmaids carried white orchids. I received so many compliments on my bouquet! They also did our centerpieces which were tall glass cylinders with orchids in them.

I was very pleased with the flower arrangements, the value, and especially with the great service. They provided helpful suggestions and ideas without being pushy and were very accommodating to my budget. Unfortunately the flower girl flowers were left out of my order which we didn't notice until the ceremony was starting. Also, the colors were not close enough to what we discussed. They were far more purple than pink. However, I loved the arrangements and was very happy with the service we received. I would still recommend Flowers Make Sense, but would encourage the customer to stop by to view the arrangements and double-check the contract before the wedding day.

Gorgeous flower arrangements and was very pleased with all of the flowers that were at our wedding. Was given exactly what I asked for. Only thing I was disappointed with was the size of the table arrangements at the reception. But I would recommend them in a heart beat!

This florist was easy to work with and produced beautiful floral arrangements and bouquets. They did forget my rose petals though and the consultant can be a little pushy.

Flowers Make Scents were great to work with. They are a mother-daughter team and do beautiful work. I didn't have alot of ideas about what I wanted or needed for flowers and they showed me some beautiful ideas and helped me pick everything out. They delivered everything on time and all the flowers were beautiful.

My sister used them for her wedding. She was paying for the wedding herself, and told the florist in their very first meeting she didn't have a huge budget for flowers. The florist said she was still happy to work with my sister and could do her wedding, and the florist herself suggested several cost-cutting ideas for the flowers. My sister said that sounded great, but when the florist sent her the contract a few weeks later, it contained a lot more flowers than they had agreed on and all of the expensive options my sister had already told them she didn't want. My sister went back into the shop to bring the money and the contract and to make the changes to the contract. She went to the store to do all this several weeks before they had told her the money was due. When she asked the florist to make the changes to the contract, the OWNER flipped out and started yelling at her in front of several other customers. These were her exact words: "This is ridiculous. If I had known you'd be spending this much, I never would have agreed to do your wedding. I could have done another wedding. This one is a waste of my time. I have a business to think of. I never would have suggested those arrangements to you, you must have made those up yourself." She told my sister to her face she was a liar...in front of other people. She embarrased my sister. The owner stormed into the back without another word to my sister, who stood there speechless. The woman's daughter then came out, and never bothered to apologize. In normal circumstances, my sister would have just found another florist, but at this point it was too late to get another florist in time for a busy season June wedding. So they were stuck using them. For the next several weeks leading up to the wedding, my sister was worrying about whether her flowers would even look nice or if the florist was too mad at them and would bring crappy flowers. The flowers did end up looking nice and were what we ordered, but my sister was worrying about it on her wedding day. No bride should have to worry about that on her wedding day - it just added unneeded stress to an already stressful day. Especially when my sister did nothing wrong - if the lady thought she was losing money on the wedding, she never should have agreed to take it in the first place after my sister was very honest in telling them she didn't have much money to spend. So, get your flowers elsewhere, especially for a wedding - unless you plan to spend a ton of money there...I bet then they'd be really nice to you.

When I met with the designer, I knew I wanted to get my flowers here. She seemed to really get the look I was going for. When my flowers showed up for the wedding they were not exactly what we had discussed. I didn't really care all that much because they were still pretty, just not what I had imagined. Some of the colors were off a little as well. My Mother went back to complain that the flowers had been subbed and the owner apologized and said they couldn't get the correct flower in and that she had been on vacation that week. I think if you pick a week she isn't gone, you will be in good hands. Pros- Great ideas Beautiful work easy to deal with affordable Cons- Some of the flowers look a little aged They sub some of your flowers out with whatever they have

I received so many compliments on the day of my wedding about the flowers. Ellen and Shari did such a wonderful job with everything. We are so pleased and HIGHLY recommend their work!

I didn't want flowers but my mom insisted. I never thought I'd find something simple and elegant but they created the most unique flower arrangements and I loved them! I never would've thought to do what they did and I am so pleased.
