My husband and I worked with Monique from For The Good to plan our destination wedding in Oahu. From beginning to end, we had the best experience. Richel met with us before we committed to working with For the Good to get a sense of our vision for our wedding, our personal values and interests, and us as a couple. We connected with Monique shortly after to start wedding planning. Over the next 6+ months, we continued to meet in 2-3 month intervals to identify and select vendors and communicated via email in between. They gave us excellent suggestions about vendors to work with based on their previous experiences. We came to Oahu twice to visit in person, and they arranged a venue tour to plan the layout of our wedding. They even came to our tastings and took notes on dishes that we wanted to add or to change. We met at more frequent intervals leading up to our wedding date to finalize the timeline, design, and other details.
Regarding our wedding day, the For the Good team made the day as stress-free as possible. They took care of all of the logistics and worked with all the vendors from set up to take down. When we arrived at our venue, everything looked exactly like we’d planned, down to the smallest details at our welcome table and the wedding arch. It was honestly even more beautiful than we’d hoped for. We ended up running a little bit behind on our timeline during the wedding itself because the speeches ran long, but the team worked to get us back on track to give us plenty of time to party with our guests. Most importantly, my husband and I got to focus on spending time with our family and friends throughout our big day.
We so appreciate Monique and the rest of the For the Good team for working so hard to our wedding day one of the best days of our lives and make planning our wedding a breeze! We highly recommend working with this amazing team.
I would recommend For The Good Events over and over again! Their team was professional, talented, genuinely kind, and made eloping feel like we were living out our wildest dreams. With their expertise, we got the best of both worlds—we were able to invite our immediate family for our elopement while still carving out alone time together. We feel so lucky to have gotten married this way, and we know that by working with them, it made everything more special! They even made the perfect suggestion to take in the moment after the ceremony with a picnic for our family, which turned into one of the most special moments of the day. Throughout this whole process, their expertise was unmatched. Marisa helped us hire the best vendors while we were on the mainland without skipping a beat, and before we knew it, our whole day was planned perfectly! I know they put so much time and passion into every wedding, and their care shows. Hiring For The Good Events was truly the best decision we made for our wedding. They created the most beautiful memories for our lifetime, and for that, we are forever grateful.
I worked closely with Monique to pull off our dream wedding in only 4 months when we jumped on one of the few remaining 2024 dates available at Kualoa (which serendipitously coincided with my husband's 40th birthday weekend). She and the whole team at FTG made us feel so well taken care of and everybody they brought on board to work with us was excellent. Their work is beautiful (I pulled almost my entire pinterest wedding board from their portfolio), the vendors they recommended were all wonderful, the food was excellent, everything went above and beyond all my hopes and expectations. The educational videos they offered as a free part of the service were helpful too. It was definitely the most magical and happiest day of our lives. Highly recommend Monique and the whole team!
We had a great experience with Styled Elopements/For the Good. We had an initial meeting with them a year before our wedding where they gathered all the information needed, then the month before our wedding they communicated more frequently. Even when I became stressed out about certain details, Marisa was there to offer alternatives and help come up with solutions.
It was so helpful to have a team to organize and coordinate vendors and the day of the wedding. Our wedding day was beautiful and we are so thankful for this team!
I had an amazing experience planning my big day with For the Good. Marisa was the best coordinator I could ask for, especially since I was planning a destination wedding from California. She had all the local knowledge and also was so accommodating with what we had envisioned. She responded to my communications promptly and went above and beyond on the wedding day to make sure everything went smoothly and that my husband, my dog, and I were well taken care of. There were some last minute changes and I trusted her expertise with it - everything came out perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better person to work with for this special day!
I went with Styled Elopements when I decided to elope in Oahu. From the very beginning communication was great and pricing was transparent. I had every question answered. The day of the event Marisa continued to be great with communicating. I felt everything was so well planned and organized. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. My husband and I have no regrets going with For the Good Events. Thankful for everything.
My journey with FTG began in May 2022. Like most other brides, I had stumbled across them on Instagram after deciding on a destination wedding in Hawaii for March 2023. FTG social media pages are filled with beautiful aesthetics that any bride would dream of on their big day. My initial interactions with Owner Richel were pleasant. Being that I live over 5,000 miles away I knew that I would require full event coordination and planning, which Richel reassured me that it would not be a problem.
FTG has been in business for over 10 years and has a well-established number of resources to guide their couples through the wedding process that I found very helpful. During my first call with Richel, I explained my vision for my wedding and shared that I would be visiting in August to tour my wedding venue, Kualoa Ranch. Richel reached out via email and shared that during our visit she would like to schedule tastings, our venue tour, and discuss our design. Even with a few small hiccups on scheduling for tastings, we still felt relieved and excited for our wedding.
Communication was my biggest obstacle during this process. I last heard from Richel on 11/14, and then did not receive any communication until 1/14 when she informed me that she had taken some time off for a medical emergency. Monique stepped in to take over the planning, I found was very frustrated, it felt like I was starting from the beginning ,2 months before my wedding. I will say that Monique felt like a god send and it feltlike she was able to get us back on track, or at least I thought so.
I found a vendor in my hometown that makes hand painted tiles that I wanted to use as seating cards, I purchased and had them shipped to FTG with an arrival date of 3/6 before my 3/13 wedding. I was reassured that someone would be present for their delivery, but unfortunately my tiles were delivered to the office, but were lost, so I was told. The week leading up, I was constantly reaching out for updates because I was unsure on our timeline. All my voicemails went unanswered. The night before the wedding, there had been no communication on how transportation would be coordinated for my guests until I reached out via text. I had to directions out to my guests 7 PM that evening.
The day of my wedding, the FTG team knew I was frustrated. We had exchanged a few texts and it was quite evident that they wanted to get the day over with. When I arrived at the venue, I was upset to see that our last name was spelled incorrectly on our signs, and that the one detail I specifically asked to not have present on my table design, fruit, was spread throughout. As our reception went on, Alyssa was the only coordinator that consistently checked on us while the other sats outside the bridal suite. They ignored me every time I walked by until I asked for Tylenol and then they decide to acknowledge me. My vendors were not organized, requests that I made in my contracts were not fulfilled, and any time I questioned why all anyone seemed to do was blame someone else. To top it all off, after the wedding day my credit card was used for unauthorized charges. The last time I checked, I did not sign up for credit card abuse and forgery when I signed my contract with FTG. Maybe that’s them looking out for the good of their own. My husband and I waited 7 years for this day, we picked a beautiful location to have our wedding, but overall, I don’t feel like the wedding that was delivered matched the price we paid.
This review is long overdue for the team at For the Good. We started working with the team in 2019 for our initial wedding date in May of 2021. The girls at FTG made planning a Hawaiian wedding while in Iowa seamless with all of their recommendations and help. Due to the Pandemic we had to postpone our wedding until spring 2022. Richel, Monique, and Marisa coordinated with all of our vendors to prepare a list of new dates for us to pick from and handled the entire rebooking process for us. About 3 months out we sent all of our contracts over to Marisa to review. Marisa handled all of the fine tuning of contract details for us. When it came to the day of the wedding we had absolutely 0 stress of anything to worry about other than enjoying the day. The girls at FTG handled all vendor coordination, set up, decoration and tear down. There was light rain right before our ceremony, Marisa had umbrellas prepared at the ceremony site for all of our guests to use. The smaller details we wouldn't of thought of really added up. We are so thankful we booked For the Good to handle all of our wedding coordination and would recommend to anyone needing a Wedding coordinator!
I was so excited when I first found this company. However, they were a no call no show for our scheduled consultation and they have yet to reply to any emails following up about it.
Couldn’t have asked for a better wedding coordinator!! Went above and beyond. Highly recommend FTG events. Thank you for helping make our special day so perfect!
I knew going into this process I wanted a day of coordinator for our wedding. While it would've been nice to have full coordination, our budget did not allow for that. Most of the wedding companies did not even have our budget listed! But For the Good absolutely is what we needed and more for a reasonable price. Having the payments spread out was also useful.
I was lucky to work with Marisa 3 months out from the wedding. She really helped make sure all my hard work and planning came together. There really are so many things that you do not think of unless you are part of planning weddings all the time!
Day of the wedding was exceptionally smooth. I did not have to think about anything, Marisa and the team took care of everything. Even my photographer noted how smoothly everything went, and that she's never seen a wedding stay on time so well. I would absolutely recommend For the Good for either day of coordination!
Like many other reviewers have said, they are impossible to get a hold of. I don't recommend trying to work with them. They are pretty much non-responsive.
TLDR: Day of coordination and overall event was great. Planning process (for full-service) required more involvement than expected.
Short review:
We hired FTG at the beginning of 2020. We chose them because they are a full-service wedding planning/stylist company with a beautiful portfolio of events. We're based in Seattle and wanted someone who could plan our wedding at home (HI). FTG seemed like a good choice because they've done big events and have a large network of vendors. We booked the caterer, photographer, and venue on our own and needed help with everything else.
Everything else was the hardest part.
We struggled with communication—especially in the 5 months before the wedding. Some vendors weren't booked until a month before the wedding. We learned that high vendor demand meant delays in quotes. This should have been shared sooner, as I emailed many times over many months AND gave feedback on the lack of response.
I don’t feel like my needs were anticipated (like a vendor tip suggestions chart). We needed a full-service planner, but I would have liked one who could anticipate questions and needs that might have come up.
Experience w/ details:
Note: The pandemic altered some of the plans we had.
Planning tools - Too many
When we hired FTG, they sent a planning guide with a timeline, an Aisle Planner tool, and videos. We were told to use Pinterest for inspo. There was also a google sheet with meeting notes. This was too much to keep track of and I used the original guide.
Communication - too many emails, hard to keep up
New quotes got new emails, quotes were embedded in emails. We had two style guides (old and new) and I couldn't find the new one easily, even with an email search.
Communication details:
1. Late 2020: Delayed 2021 event to 2022 because of COVID. Signed a new agreement and were still charged based on the original payment schedule. Weird detail to miss when FTG also helped us delay services from our vendors.
2. Early 2021: Asked about small elopement and got recs. No follow up until after our elopement package with the venue. FTG said they could plan an elopement as we were full-service clients. A check in would have been nice, but IG suggested they had other elopements to work on.
3. Late 2021 to early 2022: According to their guide, certain vendors should be booked by 6 months. COVID changed this. I emailed several times with a list of current vendors and a smaller guest list (200 to 30 guests).
4. Feb 2022: Shared my concern with the event progress.
5. March 2022: FTG shared that vendors were taking long to deliver quotes. This should have been said sooner.
4. April 2022: final call to wrap up, STILL felt unprepared. Vendors were still pending.
5. April 2022: Got two floral quotes 3-4 weeks before event. Aside from $, difference was unclear and I didn’t receive guidance.
6. May 2022: Event went well, but I wasn't asked if I wanted to keep our ceremony flowers... This could have been discussed in April.
Details from meetings seemed lost, like reusing ceremony chairs or using ceremony flowers as decor. We wanted a lounge for the reception and had to remind FTG to rent one.
Overall, there's a dissonance between their portfolio on IG and my own planning experience with them. FTG delivered a good event, but the planning experience was mediocre.
Listen to the other reviews that say they’re impossible to get a hold of — they’re not lying! Sent my last email to Richel over a month ago (May ‘22) requesting an updated quote for partial planning wedding planning and got no response. Thought they might be busy or possibly overlooked the email (I get it, happens to the best of us) so I called them at the beginning of this week to follow up and, big surprise, got their answering machine. Left messages on both their office line and Richel’s direct line requesting a call back or a response to my email — 4 days later and still nothing.
I’m not sure if they’re not interested in working with us since we switched from a full service package to a partial planning package, but the fact that they don’t even have the common courtesy to give a call back or any type of response to potential customers makes my fiancé and I so happy we selected another group. They’re way over priced for the level of service they provide ($10k for their full service package is a joke considering the “ease” in which you can actually get a hold of them) and they’re easily the most unprofessional of all the planners we’ve spoken to which is saying a lot.
If having responsible and responsive planners is key for you, AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!
Having FTG team as our day of coordinators was the best decision we have ever made! From the beginning, Richel made our first call so easy and made sure we were in control of what we wanted for our wedding, we set a budget and there was never pressure to go above it. We needed assistance in creating a layout and she was right there helping us along the way. Our main coordinator Marisa was an absolute Angel and blessing in disguise. She definitely goes above and beyond for you and makes you feel special in every way. Unfortunately we were affected by the wedding shut down in hawaii and had to postpone our wedding. Marisa immediately reached out and hopped on a call with me and just allowed me to cry when I needed to. She stepped in right away and made the transition so easy. We had many vendors and thanks to her, they all changed the dates without any questions. I felt so comfortable and relaxed knowing I had a huge supporter in my corner. Marisa was always extremely professional, very attentive, and responded to my many many questions in a timely manner. She made this entire process so easy, stress free and we couldn’t have done it without her! Thank you Marisa and the entire FTG team for being so amazing with us! Marisa, you made our wedding day spectacular and so memorable, thank you so much, we are forever grateful for you. We are lucky to have had FTG as our day of coordinators!
This is the DREAM TEAM! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about FTG. I am located in N. California and was able to easily plan my destination wedding in Hawaii with the help of Marisa!
Their format made it easy to navigate and gave me a realistic picture of how my wedding day would look. If I had any questions, Marisa would answer in a timely manner which was very nice. Knowing that she would make time for me was very helpful while planning from afar.
I love their style and was very satisfied with how everything came together on the wedding day. It was wonderful having someone coordinate the day of events. Marisa's timing, calm demeanor, and organization really helped me relax and enjoy my ceremony. Thank you Marisa & FTG team!
Hiring For The Good as our day-of wedding coordinators was one of the best decisions we could've made. The video tutorials and all the tools and resources they provided to plan a wedding were SO helpful. I was told on numerous occasions that planning a wedding is one of the most stressful events you will ever plan in your life--can you imagine doing that + pandemic? As crazy and stressful as it might seem, FTG made wedding planning easier than we imagined. On our wedding day, we received so many compliments about how smoothly everything happened--and it was all due to Marisa, Richel and the team. Their level of professionalism, kindness, patience (I could go on) is top notch and we will most definitely be recommending this team to all our engaged (and soon-to-be engaged friends) in the future. Thank you FTG team!
I’m from LA and anyone that asks me about planning advice for a Hawaii wedding, I always tell them to get Richel Cole/For the Good Events as your planner. It’ll be the best decision and investment that you’ll ever make for your wedding. Thanks to her, we felt that our entire experience from the early planning until our actual wedding day, was handled with care and so much more ease because of Richel. We'll be forever grateful for her.
We initially planned to have our wedding in June 2020 and like many others had to postpone. Richel’s been a blessing from the start and helped us navigate through all the crazy changes/obstacles we had to go through to finally have our Hawaii wedding in July 2021. It definitely wasn't easy but I know it was much easier to handle because of Richel/For the Good. I can go on and on about her and her team but just know that they have the experience/skills, network of vendors and most especially heart to make your wedding day lovingly special. I highly recommend them to be part of your wedding dream team. :)
We had an amazing experience with Marisa and crew for our Oahu elopement. Everyone was so professional and easy to work with. They answered all my questions before hand, and helped us pick an amazing place for our special day. I loved my hair and makeup, she did exactly what I wanted. Our photos turned out amazing, I love them! Thank you Marisa and team!
We were interested in a stress-free elopement. We found Styled Elopement, elopement company for For the Good Events. I absolutely loved the aesthetic and knew FTG events was a great match for us.
We scheduled a call and immediately decided this was a go for us. Styled Elopements had 1 month to plan our special day! We were paired with Marisa who was on point from start to finish. She was attentive to our questions and listened compassionately to what was important to us. We’re from Los Angeles and quite busy people. Our favorite part was picking our styles/looks as we were getting ready for work! It was so simple to choose. They really showcased the different looks with beautiful photo examples and helpful descriptions.
With less than a month to plan Marisa made everything come to life. It surpassed what I had envisioned for our elopement. Thank you for making everything happen so beautifully!! Marisa, literally made my Pinterest dreams come true!! We are so grateful to have had Marisa and the team she put together to make our special day happen. Mahalo!!
I reached out to styled elopements a little less than 2 weeks before me and my now husband’s vacation. We made a spontaneous decision to get married while we were on the Island. Marisa our planner gave us the elopement of our dreams!! Marisa was very responsive to emails and made sure we had peace of mind. All we had to do was click buttons and paid, the rest was taken care of! The aesthetic, the photography was SUPERB. Thank you to the team for such a smooth elopement! Best decision as a couple ever!
Everyday leading up to and the day of the wedding will be a day I will never forget. Hiring FTG team and Richel was one of the best decisions my husband and I made when we planned our wedding. The FTG team made the whole wedding planning process easy and fluid. They gave me so many options to choose from and also offered their advice for what they thought would work best. I am the most indecisive person so having a team to help me plan was amazing. The list of vendors provided from FTG was beyond amazing. I truly loved each and every one of our vendors we hired. Not only did Richel and her team plan our wedding once, they had to re-plan it when covid hit. Richel was calm the whole time and was able to rearrange our vendors and make sure everyone was on board with the new plans and our new date. The day of the wedding was amazing. I didn't have any bridesmaids in my wedding but the FTG team felt like we have been friends for years. Every time I turned around, they where there to make sure my hair was perfect, hold my bouquet, fix my dress and ask if I needed anything. Some of the nicest girls I have met in Hawaii. I truly don't know how they do it but the wedding was seamless and everything went perfectly as planned. I wish I could relive that day over and over. I highly recommend you book with FTG team now! You will not be disappointed!
If we were very decisive and don't need any comforts from your planner, Richel may be a not bad planner. But, we don't feel a piece of peace of mind with Richel. She has been not responsive either. Her responses took 3-5 days, and our email got ignored sometimes. Besides, she always recommended her preferable vendors to us regardless of our budget. That's just the systematic environment of the wedding business in Oahu.
I just hope you don't waste your thousands of dollors like us...
**This is an incredibly late review... but LIFE got in the way :)** My 2 year wedding anniversary is coming up (tomorrow!!) and I couldn't help but think back to how amazing our wedding was and how incredible For the Good was in making our dream wedding come true. I am an A type personality and had major anxiety going into the planning of a 130 person wedding from CA. From the first meeting I had with Richel to the many emails and phone calls with Monique through the planning process, I always felt like my concerns were met and communication was always thorough with quick response times (something that is seriously lacking with a lot of Hawaii vendors). On the days leading up to the wedding, Monique was very attentive to my needs and punctual for our rehearsal. She gathered all my decor items and my intense notes on how I wanted everything set up and we didn't see her again until wedding day. I was a little concerned they would mess something up or forget to put things in the right places at the venue. BUT come wedding day, everything was perfect. They exceeded my expectations. Details that I didn't even think of were tended to - everything was perfect. FTG also stayed late to help clean up and managed the hand-back of the venue so I didn't have to worry about anything. I highly recommend FTG if you want a worry free planning process/wedding day. They are professional, detail oriented, seasoned and know most of the other vendors in the HI market. You won't regret hiring them!
Hiring Richel and FTG events was the best decision I could have made for my wedding! The most professional and kind people I have ever met! Made my wedding better having them there. Could not recommend more! Must need for your wedding😊
For The Good was a godsend for us! I worked primarily with Monique during the planning and the day of most of the team was there to support. These ladies really know what they’re doing! During the planning process Monique was always prompt answering any questions through email and making sure you don’t miss any important details. We are from California and never actually visited our wedding venue (Kualoa Ranch) until the day before our wedding. Monique was so helpful when it came to providing more insight so that we could come up with a good layout for the space. We did a rehearsal the day before the wedding which was so reassuring for our wedding party because everyone knew where they needed to be. On the day of this team made sure I didn’t have to worry about anything at all, they were always one step ahead! They have great relationships with other vendors which made the day-of setup run smooth! Even when it started pouring rain during the reception they made sure some of our rental furniture was covered from any damage. My husband and I were really able to just enjoy our day and our guests. I am so grateful to have worked with this group and I would recommend them to anyone planning to get married on the island!
Total peace of mind. That's what we would feel at the end of every single planning meeting with Richel and her team. We live in Seattle and we hired For The Good to plan a destination wedding in Hawaii for this September. Everything was going perfectly until Covid hit. After feeling paralyzed for months, we decided that even a pandemic wouldn't stop us from committing to each other this year. Richel and her team helped us shift all our vendors for our larger celebration to next year. They also helped us pivot this year to be a local elopement style wedding. It was beautifully executed. Richel even flew up from Hawaii to Seattle to make sure everything went smoothly. We're now happily married and we couldn't have imagined going through it all without the support and precision from Richel and her team.
If you get the opportunity to work with Richel, know that you're already crushing it with your decision-making. You're getting someone who is expertly organized and extremely detailed oriented. Someone who is extremely passionate and genuine in her desire to strip away all the stress and headaches that go into planning a wedding. She's never rattled and her calm radiates with every conversation that you have with her. Every planning update will feel like time well spent because Richel always comes prepared with rationale backed by experience, multiple options, and most importantly creative ideas. On the day of our elopement, Richel and her team made an emergency run to the store to pick up carpet runners for the ceremony. That's dedication. But that's just how FTG operates. They care and they hit a home run for us. We can't wait to work with them again next year for our one-year vow renewal in Hawaii.
This message has been blessed and approved by my beautiful (now) wife!
These ladies are the greatest professional planning and support system every couple needs!!! They have been there for us through it all -- and we mean every damn second of life's unexpected moments!!
Monique and Richel were absolutely wonderful and patient throughout our planning process. We had connected with them originally for Day of Coordination, but they truly stepped up for every experience we threw their way, including a less than 24 hour planned elopement and a global pandemic one week before our planned wedding.
We called Monique the night before we were flying to Hawaii on our way to Australia in December to see if we could arrange a private elopement with just the two of us on the one year of our engagement. These ladies truly delivered and were all hands on deck. They organized the most gorgeous scene on Magic Island, disco ball flourishing alter, Elvis on ukulele and surprised us with a photographer. It was untraditional and truly captured us from all of our initial conversations.
For the Good Events made us feel confident in our day of coordination with their three month check in process prior to the wedding date to cover all the vendor details and event schedule. Monique had fabulous recommendations and communication where I felt lost organizing a destination wedding. This lady is magical.
One week out to our wedding, the pandemic hit. We were bombarded with guest cancelations and in a sheer panic to make a decision quickly as majority of our guests were international and boarders were closing. Monique and Richel handled EVERYTHING for us. They contacted our vendors on postponement and cancelation policies and even offered to organize copy to send to our guests on our decision to cancel.
These ladies went above and beyond their duties and made it possible for us to still have our day when we eloped along with beautiful photos to share with our family and friends after we recently broke the good news. They are truly "For the Good" and the greatest of help we received in our wedding journey.
AWFUL, RUDE, FAKE! These girls are so unprofessional and fake. I was engaged and and was in the midst of wedding planning and stumbled upon their instagram as many other wedding vendors etc. At one point they posted that they were hiring and their post or ig story said to email them so I did. Never got at least a simple response back. You would think the professional thing to do from a business or company would be to respond to ALL inquiries. I even reached out to them inquiring for more information on their services for my OWN wedding and again no response. After a while they posted again that they were hiring and to email them and blah blah blah so i direct messaged back to the posting calling them out on their shit telling them that they don't even respond and couldn't even respond back to me a potential client asking for info for my own wedding. They then blocked me on ig. LOL. These girls are a joke and are the definition of unprofessional! I've noticed when i used to follow them on their highlight stories they had "about the staff" and they had a whole team. Now they are down to just 2 people. Proof that they are falling apart. No one wants to work with fake people. That girl Richel is the most fake. Just listening to her talk you know shes fake and is trying too hard to sound professional and perfect. Not genuine or real at all. They deserve to go out of business and now is the perfect time due to COVID-19 and with no weddings or no destination elopements happening. Anyone can do what they do because they are not unique or special in any type of way. Just fake rude people. I hope they read this :)
We live in SF and knew we wanted a small wedding for our immediate family and friends and definitely wanted to have it in Oahu because of our love for the food there and the weather. I did some research on The Knot as well as Instagram; contacted about 6 different vendors and immediately felt a connection with Richel. I had the opportunity to talk to Richel Cole, the owner of FTG, and felt so comfortable from the moment we spoke. I explained to her what we were looking for and she presented to us different options as far as planning. We ended up moving forward with the partial planner option and the opportunity to work with Monique G., Director of Events. Keep in mind, by now we have < 6 months to plan for our wedding so I was concerned if this was possible for 38 people flying in from all over the US. Just wow, she was there from the beginning of planning, remained professional but personable and stayed til after our wedding reception to ensure things were packed up. Monique went above and beyond to what I only imagined a partial planner would be doing for us. Once I shared my Pinterest board with her, she was able to present the different color schemes and layouts and provided vendors for us to choose from. Although we didn’t get to taste the cake or the food, the fun activities couples usually get to do, it all turned out amazing! We had unlimited email exchanges as well as check-in phone calls with her. There were a few items we were indecisive with as far as the vendors, such as the dinner, but she helped us through that and it turned out great! We gave her a budget to stay within and she worked with us on that; all we had to do was provide the headcount and the kind of food we liked with the highest priorities. The wedding day was everything and we couldn’t have asked for a better team to plan our wedding. Monique checked in the morning of and made sure everything was on schedule. Everything went off without a hitch, no, seriously! Our photographer/videographer was able to capture everything for us and gave the us the opportunity to see how our guests saw it in their eyes. That’s what made us the happiest, that our guests enjoyed that day. Monique was able to even fit in a rehearsal 3 days before our wedding at Palikü Gardens. That was the first time meeting Monique in person and seeing the venue in person and it was so beautiful! We received a tour of the venue and a walkthrough of how the ceremony and reception would turn out. We were even able to ship our wedding signs to FTG in Oahu to hold onto til our wedding day! We didn’t want the day to end, but even the end was perfect. Aside from leaving as husband and wife, Monique and the FTG team even packaged up all the wedding signs, even the slices of cake for the Bridge & Groom, and all the things and packed it on the party bus for us. I didn’t know until that night and thought my sisters and family would have to assist with this. :) THANK YOU, Monique. THANK YOU, FTG team. We appreciate the work and all the planning you put into our wedding and definitely do not regret having a planner. Truly blessed to have been able to see all our friends and family for our wedding and lucky to have been able to have our wedding before the shelter-in-place. I hope we are able to remain connected and hope to see you all again! Love that you guys are so down to earth, yet professional and reliable. Stay safe and healthy!
We booked For the Good events during their Christmas in July special. The promo was to book Day-Of coordination and receive 6-month out planning consultations. I would've hired them regardless of the promotion or not.
If I can give any piece of advice to brides, it's to hire a Day-of Coordinator. And if they can, hire For the Good! Richel, Monique, and the rest of their team were so friendly and helpful. They were prompt with answers to all my questions throughout the planning process and made the process stress-free.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
For the Good is amazing and they were integral in making our dream wedding come true! Richell and the entire team were so helpful and detail oriented, we knew that we were in great hands from day one. Our wedding day and the months leading up to it were stress-free and the day of the wedding went so smoothly. Having them there allowed us to focus on enjoying all the beautiful moments of our wedding – priceless!
My husband and I got married in Kualoa Ranch Moli'i Gardens in May 2019. We were living in Berkeley, CA at the time, so we knew we needed a wedding planner to help us plan our big day from a distance. We had a great experience with Richel and her team. If you are looking for an easy-going, down-to-earth wedding planner, then look no further! It was important for us to have a team that was knowledgable, experienced and well-connected, but at the same time not too busy for us or too pushy. In the end our wedding day was incredible!! We had such an amazing time and we will never ever forget it!!
The FTG team is the best! Richel and her team were very professional, nice, detailed, and attentive to all of our needs. We loved their style and designs, too! Richel and Monique were super accommodating and helped us a lot in choosing our vendors. Dee was very supportive and took care of us and our families throughout the reception/end of the night. We had a wonderful and stress-free wedding! We’re very grateful and blessed to have worked with the FTG family. :)
Oh. My. Goodness. I wish I could give For the Good more stars. They’re team is heaven sent. I was the most calm bride the day of my wedding. They took care of absolutely everything. We had late night Taco Bell during the reception, which they picked up for us. They helped me coordinate being brought to the aisle on a golf cart because my dad had trouble walking.
We hired them for day of coordination, but they did sooooo much more than that. They were so responsive to our emails, and pay a lot of attention to detail. They make sure everything is thought of so that things go so smoothly on your big day. Please don’t hesitate to book with them. You will only regret that you didn’t find them sooner.
You know FTG is an amazing planner when it's been two years since the wedding but I can't NOT write them a review. Life has been hectic and I am grateful for FTG's team patience with my review.
We got married in September of 2017. Being a young bride and having never planned an event before, no matter big or small, I was a worry wreck. I am organized however, wedding planning with SO many details is not an easy task. We hired FTG to be our day-of-coordinator and worked directly with Richel. Richel turned out to be more than just a day-of-coordinator. She became the life saver when I needed a last minute DJ (Spectrum who was amazing!!!), the patient sounding board when I needed help picking out little last minute details for the wedding, the connector for me with my amazing hair & makeup team (REVEAL - you would not regret hiring them. Allison, Coco and Jenny were the hair and makeup artists for my wedding) and my florist (Jeff Alencastre) and definitely the confidant I relied on for a smooth and happy wedding day. I cannot stress enough how seamless Richel and the team made the day for us. I remember how thoughtful they were towards my husband and me. They made sure to save some of the hors d'oeuvres from cocktail hour for us and give us time after we took pictures (during cocktail hour) and right before reception to have a little snack. They did not rush us even though I knew we were a little bit behind in time. They reminded us of what came next for the program so we did not have to feel like we needed to remember every single activity. I did not feel stressed at all the whole day and all I saw and remember till this day were their smiley faces and Richel's sweet gentle encouraging voice telling me everything was going great and it was :). To me, Richel is not just a planner but also a friend. We would love to see her and team again when we come back to Oahu!
PS: I also wanted to clarify something for FTG as well. When I found FTG and was trying to do some research (yes, I am that detail oriented bride LOL), I remember there was one negative review on Yelp at the time. My husband and I were concerned and decided to ask Richel directly about that and she was so kind and understanding when answering our questions. And now that I have had the experience with FTG, I just want to tell everyone that that negative review on Yelp was not at all accurate. Richel and FTG team cannot be more professional, effective, and sweet and we could not have asked for a better planner!
Every girl dreams of their wedding day and I’m still so grateful for this team and how they made our big day so special! Every little detail that was discussed during meetings, was definitely not missed. Richel and the team made our day so memorable that I didn’t even feel like a stressed bride throughout all my planning! We are so grateful for them and to have been a part of their awesome planning journey 😘
Richel and her team did an amazing job with our Hawaii wedding, we could not be happier with the outcome! FTG was very helpful in working with us on the style and atmosphere we wanted to create for our big day while also sticking firmly to our budget. At the time we got engaged we were in the middle of an international move and both starting new jobs and it was so helpful having Richel and the team providing us with different vendor options and managing the back and forth with the vendors so that we didn't have to!
Richel also helped us plan for the smaller logistical things that we wouldn't have thought of ourselves to help make sure everything went smoothly. On the day we didn't have to lift a finger or worry about a thing! The team was prompt and helpful and managed all of the work behind the scenes and even brought us drinks throughout the post-ceremony photos & dinner so that we could focus on enjoying the festivities.
Everything went off without a hitch and the day was even better than we had hoped for! A million thanks to Richel, Monique and the whole FTG team for making our day so perfect and unforgettable - we appreciate you!
My wife and I got married in June 2019 at Loulu Palm Estate. We are based in Australia and I had not been to Hawaii prior to this. Following a recommendation of a friend we called upon For The Good to help us plan our wedding. To make things difficult we took 8 months off prior to our wedding to travel so we were hard to contact during this time. Richel and the team at For The Good were absolutely incredible. They took our vision and turned it into a reality. Our day was absolutely perfect and was better than we could imagine. All the vendors which the team put us in touch with were equally as amazing and we couldn't be happier. Having the team at For The Good onsite on the day of the wedding relieved so much stress going into the day. I couldn't recommend For The Good any more highly.
For The Good is absolutely amazing! Tia and I were located in NJ, we wanted to find wedding planners who were responsive and willing to accommodate such a small wedding party (12 people). Richel and team were on top of things. Being so far away, we had to place all of trust in them and For The Good did not disappoint. They helped coordinate all logistics on the ground and were always timely when we asked one million questions.
Everyone on the team was great, so nice and personable! For The Good was just a great resource all around for everything :) Richel and team made our wedding day beautiful and stress free. I cannot recommend them enough for their level of service, professionalism, and wonderful attitude. If you are getting married in Honolulu, these are the people you need to contact ASAP!
Having For The Good as our wedding coordinators was the best decision we made during our wedding planning process! Our lead consultant, Monique, went above and beyond to explain every little detail & she was truly a great day-of sidekick! The whole process was smooth and easy! Basically, all my questions were answered and I always felt like I was in good hands! The vendor recommendations were spot on and she helped the vision come to life! Our wedding would not have been possible without FTG & we are forever grateful! I recommend For The Good to every bride-to- be that I know! All I can say is THANK YOU for everything you did to help us stay calm and collected on the most important day of our lives!
Richel and the rest of the team at FTG are simply amazing! My husband and I got married in Oahu in June 2018, with a not so small wedding size of 170 guests, most of whom traveled from California and the east coast. We planned the wedding remotely from San Francisco with Richel "by our side" the entire time. We worked with FTG for nearly 18 months as we planned every detail of our wedding, and carefully curated the experience we wanted our guests to have. From choosing the best vendors that fit our style, to locating the most amazing venue, to mailing all of our decorations (to her!), and mapping out the logistics of the rehearsal and ceremony & reception, Richel handled everything! The FTG team's day-of preparation, execution, and wrap-up was seamless, and literally NOTHING went wrong. Our wedding weekend was a dream because of Richel and her team.
Richel is not only super competent and organized, but also insanely warm and thoughtful. She's just as calm and caring as she is steady and dependable. Wedding planning is truly her calling! As a woman-owned and mission-driven business, FTG is also a business I was so excited to support. They are doing amazing work!
For the Good did a fantastic and over the top job as our wedding planner. From the initial meeting you could feel that they had our best interest at heart and they were with us along the way. They went above and beyond what we thought we could expect and they were wonderful at helping to solve problems in more ways than one. We never felt that we were without choices and Richel did a fabulous job of being in tune with our needs and helping us to reach an outcome we both were happy with. So many little things come up in wedding planning and no matter how large or small, Richel always seemed to provide us options or the solution. The discounts and recommendations alone covered their cost in services for our large wedding and being presented with other options showed the company’s professionalism and commitment to making our event special to us. They are truly amazing and our event would not have been the same without them.
Thank you For The Good for everything you did for my family and I for my wedding. It was a dream come true and we are forever grateful. Richel is a miracle worker! She helped me secure all my vendors and advocated for me all the time. There was an instance where a vendor was trying to oversell me on something (to make an extra buck) and Richel advised me on what to do and it turned out that that vendor wasn't a good fit and we got everything we needed from someone who was way better- all because FTG stood up for us, was honest, and had my best interest in mind. I'm really appreciative of everything. Thank you so much.
I got married recently and by far the greatest decision we made in the whole process was hiring For The Good. The team is so friendly and makes you feel really comfortable with everything. It was nice because I don't live in Hawaii and they let me mail things to the office, they'd go to meetings for me and check out the vendors, etc. Just everything was so impressive. On the wedding day, my husband and I just got to enjoy. My family and friends all commented how smooth everything was and that it was the best wedding they ever went to.
For The Good went above and beyond for me for my wedding. I initially went with FTG because they plan weddings in Hawaii and also in the mainland USA (I had seen a lot of their Seattle based work) and I was still debating between getting married in Hawaii or in my hometown in Washington. Richel was super flexible with me as we were fine tuning the place we were getting married and even went with me to meetings up here in Seattle. The number one thing she told me was that she wanted my wedding to feel like me. She never pressured me into trends or things that would be the easy route. She worked with me to figure out my vision and style and made it happen. I look back at my wedding day and know 100% that it was a reflection of my husband and I's love.
My wife and I had the wedding of our dreams, and it was all thanks to For The Good. I'll admit that I was really skeptical about hiring a planner because our budget, even though it was a decent amount, I didn't feel that we would need to spend it on someone "telling us what to book." But I was so wrong. Richel handles everything and next thing you know, it's all planned and I didn't even feel stressed at all. She told me and my fiancé at the time to go out on a date night- to enjoy being engaged. Just the fact that she took the time to tell us to relax and trust that she had it all handled was super beneficial for our relationship. We were talking about it the other day and said how we felt really grateful that we had the chance to spend time with each other and not fight about wedding stuff because we saw our friends fighting nonstop about it. Happy Wife Happy Life... and I've got that! Thanks Richel- you the best!
I spoke with a lot of different wedding planners before I found "my wedding bestie" in FTG! My now husband and I just loved how we felt so at ease whenever we spoke with Richel or her team. They were super professional and organized, yet never made us feel like we couldn't talk to them the way we'd talk to a family or friend. One thing that really stood out to me was that no matter when I texted Richel (day or night) she would always reply in the most energetic, happy, and friendly way. She kept me in check and also celebrated every milestone with me. She became my best friend throughout the wedding process and I already miss our meetings, texts, and planning fun! I felt a real connection with FTG and I am really glad we went with them. They plan beautiful events, but more than that, they are good people who genuinely care about you.
I am telling you now that if you are engaged and planning a wedding... YOU NEED FOR THE GOOD TO PLAN IT FOR YOU! I was a total mess before bringing in Richel to clean it all up and make it beautiful. I had a ton of ideas and no idea how to execute it. She took the time to listen to everything, sift through all my photos, and somehow she transformed it into one cohesive look and feel. Richel has a true eye for design and it was insane how she made all these design elements fit within my budget. Every single vendor I spoke to absolutely loved her and that was reflected in how they treated us as well. It was such a joyful experience. Seriously hire Richel and her team at For The Good!
There really aren't enough positive words to explain how impressed I was with Richel and the entire FTG team. From start to finish- graceful, efficient, creative, and kind. I felt so relaxed throughout the entire process, and I've seen several of my friends go through the planning process and be super stressed out- so I know that I was lucky! I highly recommend FTG for your wedding planning needs. Richel is a genius and her team is the most hardworking set of gals I've ever seen!! So so so so happy!
For someone who is very detailed oriented, OCD about everything, a major planner, and basically someone you probably don't want to plan a party for or even a wedding...because I am THAT crazy person...FOR THE GOOD (FTG) were the only people I could ever trust for a wedding! HANDS DOWN. Like probably most people planning a wedding in Hawaii, you are probably planning it from afar. That alone can bring on more stress on your plate...and who needs more added stress to a wedding? NO ONE. FTG (shoutout to Richel and Mariah!) were so great at communicating with me and honestly, made everything possible. And if something wasn't possible, they would offer you 5 other different options that were incredible. When anyone asks me how our wedding went, I always rave about how amazing FTG was! If and when we ever visit Oahu again, my husband and I will for sure meet up with FTG and their crew because they are seriously your dream team!!! We honestly would not have had our dream wedding without them. Trust me, I spoke to many different wedding planners in California and Hawaii (because remember, I am that crazy OCD lady and things had to be "perfect") FTG are the ones for you to trust for your big day!
Adam and I were married at Kualoa Ranch in June 2018. From the moment I spoke to Richel, I knew she was exactly who I needed to have on my team to pull off the best day of our lives. From start to finish- first phone call to the goodbyes- Richel and her team were an absolute dream to work with. She listened to me, valued my vision, and make my absolute dream day become a reality. I have 2 of my close friends using Richel and her team as their planners now as well because of what an amazing job she did. She and her team put their heart, soul, and everything they have into their clients and I feel so honored to have worked with such an epic team. Thank you FTG and Richel for literally making our day beyond what we thought was possible!
Once I got engaged, I knew I needed to get a wedding coordinator since I knew I was not able to this all on my own. My former coworker had recommended For The Good Hawaii saying she had an awesome experience with them, so we decided to go with them. I decided to get the partial planning and coordination (included day-of-coordination) package, and I am so glad we did! I seriously did not know where to begin with planning, but Richel met with me monthly to keep me on track. It was also helpful to get vendor recommendations from someone who is very familiar with the industry.
Fast forward to the wedding, Richel and her team made sure my husband and I did not have to worry about anything! We literally just had to show up and enjoy the night, and they took care of the rest. Everything went so smoothly (FTG coordinated everything with all of our vendors!), and I can’t thank Richel enough for making our wedding so stress-free. Would definitely recommend FTG team to anyone looking for a wedding coordinator!
Thanks Mariah and Richel for all the great work that you put into making our wedding everything we could’ve ever imagined. I couldn’t have done it without your guidance and support.
I can’t believe when I started planning my wedding that I thought I could’ve done it without a planner- because once I saw all that you ladies do, I was blown away.
Thank you so much!
Richel basically became my best friend over the months that she planned my wedding. She took the time walk me through everything, and made sure I was excited about my choices. She understood me. For example, I was trying to explain my idea for my centerpieces, but I didn’t know how to make my idea practical. Richel talked me through it and then she sketched out a design concept and I was like OMG this is exactly what I wanted. She understood me so well!
I was really blown away by her team and how professional and friendly they all were. They checked on me while I was getting ready, made sure we were all comfortable before the ceremony, had drinks ready for us, and more.
If you’re looking for a planner- believe me, For The Good, is the best there is. Take this from a happy bride who still messages Richel just to chat and catch up because I miss her and her team so much!!
Absolutely impressed with how Mariah, Richel, and their entire team of coordinators can do it all! I was so blown away by the level of professionalism and grace that they had throughout the time we worked with them. Mariah made me feel so comfortable and relaxed- which is ideal for any destination bride! My day was perfect, and I couldn’t have done it without them.
FTG provided me with the best vendors, amazing ideas, and their design work is beyond measure. So happy and so thankful for them!
My husband and I just got married recently and we used For The Good Hawai‘i as our wedding planning team. We knew from the moment we made contact with them, that we wanted them as our planners. They made me feel so comfortable and at ease. It was such a nice feeling being able to confide and trust in someone to help make sure my day was perfect.
Richel worked closely with me through the planning process, sorting through vendor choices, going through different designs, and more. She was patient and always had good suggestions that I ended up loving!
Their day of Team was also so kind and amazing. They were handling everything so we didn’t have to worry. They even cleaned up our hotel suite and made it presentable for us to return to. It was such a nice gesture and all my friends and family were saying how beautiful my wedding was and that all their interactions with For the good were spectacular!
My wedding dreams came true because of For The Good. We booked them for full planning & design and they handled everything (and let us get to do all the fun things!!). It was so helpful having them be able to sort through quotes, proposals, ideas, and more! Richel spent a lot of time with me on the phone, answering my emails late at night, and all my other crazy requests. Everything turned out perfect and I couldnt have asked for a better planner. From their vendor recommendations, to their amazing taste in design, it was all so good!
Richel and Mariah are the best and I am so thankful for their talents and time to help my husband and I with our wedding planning. Not only are they friendly and kind, but they area detail-oriented and know the ins and outs of the industry. We couldn't have done it without them and our wedding was absolutely perfect.
When my husband Josh and I decided we wanted to get away and have an intimate wedding in Hawaii, we began researching out options. We were extremely fortunate to have found For The Good.
We booked a styled elopement through them. It was such a stress-free process. Since we were all coming from Australia, and it was only a handful of our closest pals, we wanted something beautiful and simple. For The Good's styled elopements allowed Josh and I to select different styles for each piece of our ceremony. All I had to do was say "yes" to each style I wanted and their team handled the rest.
It was such a big stress reliever knowing we didn't have to plan anything other than our travel! The ceremony was beautiful and their team even made our celebration dinner arrangements for us. Quite an amazing experience! So glad we booked them for our wedding.
