From Scratch made our wedding awesome. Jeff was easy to deal with use, and worked with us on what we wanted to see. We are beyond happy with them.

1 word...AMAZING! Amazing management, amazing staff, AMAZING FOOD! We used From Scratch for our wedding and sooooo many of our guests came up to us to specifically tell us how good the food was and how it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. (I was specifically afraid to have “that wedding” with the nasty food lol I’ve been to those weddings, it’s terrible when it happens). SO! If you don’t want that to happen to your next event/wedding, if you want to have the praise worthy wedding food and you want to be the couple extremely exited that you have some left overs for the honeymoon! From scratch is who you wanna call. Jeff was super informative and answered quickly every time I emailed, he was super nice and attentive and the prices are right! Me and the new husband actually talked about having a big family get together every summer and having From Scratch cater for us. We can’t wait to enjoy their food again 😊

We used From Scratch for our rehearsal dinner and couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Our friends and family were raving about the food and we enjoyed it much more then the food we had from the banquet facility at our reception. Jeff was extremely easy to work with and the rest of the staff were very professional. Highly recommend From Scratch to anyone looking for top notch food and service.

We very much enjoyed having From Scratch cater our wedding and provide cocktail hours food and bar services. Jeff and his staff were on time, courteous, and did a great job of keeping the lines moving and the food flowing. Every guest I spoke with raved about the cocktail hour food. The cucumber bites were a HUGE hit. The prime rib and herbed corn were amazing and I got so so many compliments on the Michigan Salad. Everyone was wanting the recipe for the raspberry vinaigrette. Jeff was easy to work with during the whole process. He was able to give advice on menu items since they were driving over an hour away--we picked items that would hold well. I would encourage anyone and everyone to use them for your wedding services. They were GREAT!

Jeff and his team were amazing! Food was tasty, hot and fresh. I had so many compliments from all the guests about not just food but service as well. If you are looking for a caterer in the Central Michigan area, BOOK THEM!

Excellent experience with From Scratch Catering & Event Planning! Hired them for my August 2018 wedding and they did not disappoint! The whole planning process was easy and fun with Jeff and his team. Some of my guests even said it was the best wedding food they've ever had! Jeff and his team did an AMAZING job catering our wedding in May 2018. I cannot thank them enough for making it so easy for us. Jeff was a joy to sit down and plan with and honestly helped steer us in the right direction. We were pretty indecisive but his expertise and vast knowledge helped us make wise decisions. Our guests were talking about our food for weeks after our wedding. Cannot recommend anyone better who will honestly treat you like family from day one.

They were amazing they think of everything you would ever need. Very affordable and very easy to work with. I would highly recommend them. The food is amazing three months later and we are still being told how good the food was. Everything was easy from start to finish. They have done this for a long time and it shows, they have dates set for you when you meet so that you know what to expect.

The food was excellent! The staff is professional and helpful, and the price is great- linens, dishes, dinner, and bar all included.

Jeff and his crew did an awesome job at my wedding this past weekend! They had a two and a half hour drive up to Boyne Falls, and the food was still amazing! Our guests raved about cocktail hour-especially the buffalo chicken dip and spinach artichoke dip. Dinner was a huge hit as well- his pineapple Caribbean pork was amazing and everyone loved the caramel apple salad and mashed potatoes! We had poor weather-rained most of the day, but Jeff and his crew stayed positive and kept the drinks coming all night! Thank you to Jeff for keeping the day running so smoothly.

Forest Edge has a very beautiful setup if you are looking to do your ceremony and reception in the same location. The ceremony is outdoors and luckily for us there was a quick downpour right before the ceremony started then it was sunny while we walked down the aisle. The guests went right into the indoor reception hall after the ceremony to start drinking and have appetizers while the bridal party and family took pictures for about an hour. The staff working during our wedding were very friendly and helpful. If I had a need, they would do their best to make it happen. The process of booking the venue was fairly smooth as well. There was some miscommunication the week prior to the wedding about the table setup that made it stressful, but it was all worked out. Overall, I would recommend Forest Edge for your wedding because the staff working are very friendly and it really is a beautiful venue!

I had my wedding reception on April 29,2017 at the Hellenic Banquet Center and it was absolutely wonderful! Steve and Scott were great to work with and met all of our needs! The food is amazing and it's wonderful that we got to take it home with us! Robin did our reception decor and she did an outstanding job in capturing my vision and was so easy to work with! I recommend Forest Edge and Hellenic Banquet Center for couples who are looking for an affordable hall with awesome food and has an onsite dj, reception decorator, and photo booth 😀👍

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Freeland Forest Edge on October 1, 2016 and we could not have asked for a more perfect night. Jeff was very helpful in answering questions and getting things planned out and understood, Steve was fantastic at fixing a couple things for me last minute and just making sure I had nothing to worry about. I also used Robin to decorate and she helped make the room look amazing with the items I had to use. Overall, they are an EXCELLENT company and I am so glad that we picked them to host our reception, they even put out extra pickles just because they are my favorite. It was a lot of little things they did that made everything perfect! All I have heard back from family and friends was how nice the staff was, how beautiful the room looked and how everyone had an incredible time. We are so happy we chose the Hellenic. The venue was beautiful, the perfect size, and the owners/management was so easy to contact and work with. You will not regret choosing the Hellenic for your wedding reception.

Really good sales pitch. During the beginning of the process they were super helpful and the day of my wedding went down speculator. However, the in between became frustrating. I came from out of town for my wedding and they were very inflexible about when I could set up the hall (which I did not know until 1 month before the wedding). Also, I had to call them to give them final info and every time I received a phone call back I had to tell them who I was and when I was getting married. Just a few days before my wedding they couldn't even remember who I was! You just become a # who pays them $$ in the end. Overall still a good value just not great customer service.

I had my reception at The Hellenic Center in April and it was absolutely perfect! I set aside a day to look at venues in the Tri-City area and The Hellenic Center was my last appointment of the day. I knew from the first five minutes of talking to Jeff that The Hellenic Center was going to be the place, no other venue in the area even compared. Steve and Jeff are so nice and genuine, they truly make everything so easy. There wasn't a single thing that I felt stressed about leading up to our big day because they seriously take care of so many of the little details. We are still getting compliments on how great the food was (it was amazing!). Robin is such a sweetheart and the decorations were a beautiful addition to the flowers. The set up of the Hellenic Center is great because the dance floor is right in the middle and there is a decent sized lobby for guests to mingle if they want a quieter space. I am still in awe of how great our reception was, I highly recommend Forest Edge to all couples in the area! Thanks Steve and Scott for making sure everything went smoothly, you guys are the best!

Everything was outstanding. The price was affordable and Jeff Jacobs was phenomenal. I'll admit that I didn't know what I was doing but Jeff answered all my questions and made it a smooth process. DO NOT bring in outside catering. My wedding was two weekends ago and my guests are still going on about how amazing the food was. I'm vegan and still had plenty of food options and everything was amazing. The service staff was on point. They provided centerpiece decorating for an additional price and Robin did a very good job. I got about 26 gorgeous centerpieces for around $300. The photobooth robin provided was also a huge hit among the guests. Drinks were great and bartenders were so friendly and upbeat. I'll admit, like another person had just reviewed, that the DJ wasn't the greatest. We had about ten songs we asked to be played at some point in the night and none of them were. I went up to the DJ and requested two songs myself because none of the ones I listed were played unfortunately. The DJ was worth the $500 we paid but i wasn't overly impressed. Either way, this place was a definite 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend Forest Edge to anyone!!

The Hellenic Center did a terrific job! Steve and Jeff are two amazing people!! They treated us like family. The food is the BEST I have ever had at a wedding. My wedding guests are still raving about it. From start to finish they were there for any questions I had. The hall is beautiful! I really cannot say one bad thing. I would recommend Hellenic to everyone. But honestly Steve and Jeff are really the ones to thank. They made the whole experience easy and stress free. Love love love it!!!!!

*Ceremony & reception at the Forest Edge in Auburn, MI Forest Edge offers the best package deal we were able to find. Ceremony site, reception site, catering, bar, decorating the day-of, linens, photo booth, and DJ - all under one roof! The cost was very affordable compared to other places we considered and the ceremony and reception turned out amazing, being really convenient for out-of-town guests who may have had to struggle finding a different site. Our photo booth turned out amazing and Robin was great to work with. Jeff and Steve (owners) were exceptionally helpful during all of the time leading up to the wedding and were always quick to answer any questions we had. If you’re looking for great service and staff who want to help make your day as special as you do, you should definitely consider the Forest Edge. While I absolutely give the venue and its staff a 5 out of 5, one snafu we did experience was the DJ. We originally went with another company, but decided to switch to the Forest Edge’s DJ when they began offering one earlier in the year. While we forfeited our deposit with the original company, we were able to work out a deal with the Forest Edge and ended up still saving $400. However, the DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song and was very slow with playing songs that we, or guests, requested, even songs that we sent to them in advance of the wedding. If choosing to go with services all offered there, I would just make sure to speak directly with the DJ in advance and make sure that they review the DJ contract you submit. Other than those few minor hiccups, our wedding was truly amazing and we’re so glad we chose the Forest Edge!

We used Forest Edge for our wedding last weekend and it was absolutely amazing. Jeff was a pleasure to work with. He really was on top of all the details of the day and I felt confident leaving my decorations, etc. in his hands. I thought the food was amazing and all the guests agreed. It is so nice to have food, liquor, venue all combined on one bill. The bartenders were awesome and very accommodating. The place is beautiful, especially with the uplighting going on. The inset bar makes for a perfect place for the men to hang out and talk while the ladies cut up on the very nice/large dance floor. I have nothing bad to say about Forest Edge. I would recommend them to anyone having a wedding in the tri-cities.

Great Venue! We loved it!

Our wedding was held here and it was perfect. Jeff was great to work with as was all staff. The night was flawless I would recommend to everyone food was great also.

I chose Forest Edge Banquet Center because of their close proximity to the Tri-Cities (Bay City, Saginaw, Midland) and because they took so much weight off my shoulders. With other banquet centers, you may have to find your own bartender and alcohol, buy insurance, hire security guards, hire a caterer, hire a decorator, and on and on... Forest Edge does all of that for you! They have a full, open bar option that lasts all night for one low price. They have a decorator that will provide chair covers and centerpieces and set them up for you. They have uplighting installed in the building that looks amazing. We had it go slow for dinner and then go fast to the beat of the music for dancing. All we had to do was write the check. They are great about inviting you for food tasting and menu preparation. You can count on them to do what they say they will. If you still have questions, you can call Jeff Jacobs any time on his cell phone and he always gets back to you. I'm definitely coming here for my next wedding (just kidding)!

It was ab beautiful reception hall where we also got married. Behing th building is a beautiful field of grass with trees in the background. Perfect picture location.;handicapp accessible and they were very accomadating with this.
