Forest Hill is not your typical private party band, but they don’t aim to be. Comprised of members from RVA favorites, The Shack Band, a regionally touring rock band that started in a shack while the band members were still in college, this septet delivers a high energy, interactive performance at every show. With a unique instrumentation including acoustic and electric guitars, saxophone, mandolin, flute, two lead vocalists and a killer rhythm section, the band’s sound lends itself to modern folk-rock w/ a vintage funk twist. The band’s diverse song repertoire consists of classics from the 1960s mo-town era to current danceable rock songs from today and everything in between.

We can't say enough good things about Forest Hill Band! All of our guests raved about how incredible the music was from the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We wanted everyone to be on the dance floor for the whole reception and the band delivered with keeping the party going. It was so fun to watch you the band play together because they really have so much chemistry together. We highly recommend anyone considering them. They were so easy to work with leading up to the wedding and truly played such a key part in making our wedding day so amazing.
We booked Forest Hill Band for our Wedding with about 170+ guests (of all ages) and they were AMAZING! Mason and crew were so professional, really accommodating and everyone loved them. They are the perfect mix of a musicians, and great singers who were happy to play to the party and felt the energy of the crowd- everything from jam band tunes, Motown/Funk, 80s, and 90s tunes. We used 2 musicians for our special wedding ceremony and another for the piano cocktail hour- they can do it all! I’ve had so many comments from guests today saying how fantastic these guys were and loved being on the dance floor all night! No hesitation in recommending them and we know we will see them again soon! Thank you so much!
This band was absolutely amazing! If you are looking for a band that will get everyone on the dance floor, this is it. They play a variety of music for all ages groups. We received so many compliments on how amazing the band was. They even let my husband play the drums, which was such a hit.
The Forest Hill Band brought the house down. They had our guests dancing all night and their combination of musical styles and unique twist on all the songs made our reception truly a unique experience. We had them play our first dance and parents dance songs by request and their version of True Companion was perfect and fun. I would also recommend them for your ceremony and cocktail hour. It made one point of contact who took care of everything and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Everything was perfect!
Highly recommend Forest Hill Band for truly any event you are planning! They played at our wedding reception and absolutely exceeded our expectations! They played to the crowd and kept everyone on their feet the entire night, it was wonderful! They even played an encore for us which was awesome! I highly recommend them as the guys are all very professional and easy to work with. They were accommodating to all of my requests, we couldn't be happier! Seriously the best decision to book them.
