We had our wedding here this past weekend is we were in awe of how perfect everything was. From decor, set up, food service, bar service, everything was perfect. I worked with sevrina for the majority of the wedding planning and she was amazing. I could not recommend this venue more for any event, especially a wedding! Thank you 41North!!
My fiancé and I hosted our Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party at Forty 1° North and had the best time!!! Sevrina was incredible to work with from start to finish—reliable, accommodating, and always helpful with our numerous questions and requests. She kept us organized with all the event details, ensuring everything ran smoothly.
The day-of service from Sevrina and the entire staff was amazing, exceeding our already high expectations. The space is stunning, and she helped bring our vision for it to life. The food was delicious, the bar service impeccable, and the entire staff was incredibly accommodating.
Huge thanks to Sevrina and everyone for making our day and night at Forty 1° North such a success!! Our family and friends can’t stop raving about it. It was the perfect start to our wedding weekend, which we will remember forever. We highly recommend Forty 1° North for your next event.
We recently hosted our son’s Rehearsal Dinner at 41 North and it was amazing. Sevrina and all of the Staff were so accommodating, professional and a pleasure to work with. Sevrina was organized and highly detailed as she listened and followed through with our numerous requests. The outdoor space is spectacular and all of our food options were delicious. The kitchen was extremely conscientious of our GF guests.
We can not say enough about our experience here at 41 North. We highly recommend this venue for any function.
WE used Forty 1 North to host a farewell brunch party on a Sunday (April 14, 2024) of a very busy wedding weekend in Newport. The service was excellent, the food was great, and the staff were very accommodating. We dropped flowers off at midnight following the wedding on Saturday night. The staff helped with all of it and our guests gave the party rave reviews. We hosted about 120 people and all went smoothly. Sevrina Dow did a great job coordinating it all. I'd use them again should the need arise.
I hosted an event at Forty 1 North in December, we had a wonderful time! The whole events team (Jen, Paul, Olympia) were amazing to work with, from our first conversation to our final goodbyes. We will be going back!
We had the most amazing experience hosting our rehearsal dinner at Forty 1 North’s Christie’s property. Jen was an integral part of our planning process and was the key to a smooth and successful evening. She was professional, detail oriented, and thoughtful. Our guests loved the space and the staff and the food was better than we could have imagined. We could not recommend Forty 1 North more.
I have been working with Forty 1 North for many years now, as both an event manager/client and also as a guest. I am in awe of the level of professionalism and warmth that their team, and the property, exudes. It is one of the finest private properties on Newport Harbor, with so much to offer. I highly recommend this venue for a wedding or any event that requires a special elegant, fun, modern touch.
41 North graciously agreed to co-sponsored a "funraiser" for the Martin Luther King Community Center Food Pantry with my business, Drishti Yoga & Wellness. The "funraiser" was held on Saturday, October 21st of this year. I was beyond delighted with the professionalism, cooperation, and generosity of 41 North and its staff. The participants and I were treated as if we were paying guests. I would definitely recommend 41 North for your next special occasion.
I had my wedding at Forty 1 North in early September of this year. Communication was a little rocky at first but once Paul Fedele and Jennifer Scharbach began handling things, all went smooth/wonderfully. They ensured I had the best wedding day possibly. Staff was very kind and attentive, the food was amazing, and overall atmosphere was great. Everyone who attended could not stop saying wonderful things about the facility. It’s also right on the water which makes it even more picturesque. I hope to celebrate many anniversaries there!
I had my 50th birthday party at 41 North and it was a terrific experience from beginning to end. The team was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make it a special evening. They even moved us from the original room I had booked to an much more elegant space to take advantage of the good weather. I would not hesitate to have my next event there again!
My Company hosted a corporate event in their courtyard for about 40-50 people and it was a great time had by all! The staff was amazing and very attentive to all our needs throughout the evening. The food and drinks were amazing and our attendees couldn't stop raving about the view!
Forty1 North Team, I recently hosted my 5th private Client Appreciation Reception at your boutique hotel this September. The setting was stunning with the late summer sun setting over Newport Harbor while we gathered to enjoy savory bites and wonderful wines in the hotel's Gallery which provides the benefits of being both a covered and open aired space with views of the harbor and the amazing yachts which dock here in the City by the Sea throughout the season. The Forty1 North servers were extremely attentive and pleasantly efficient in serving my 50 plus guests. I'm pleased to say that the evening was another 5 Star experience at this beautiful Newport, RI hotel & marina! Gratefully, Randal P
We held a rehearsal dinner for our sons wedding in September. We had some issues early in with the revolving event management and communications. But we finally met Jennifer Scharbach the new manager as of early August and all of the issues went away. We had a great event. Food was terrific as was service.
We held a corporate event for about 50 people in June and could not have had a better time. The staff is attentive, the views are beautiful. The food was top knotch - served family style.
All of our attendees were very impressed with everything!
Very professional event team.
Wonderful venue!
Had a great experience with Forty 1 North. My event, which was a business meeting, needed very little. With that said, communication and follow up were great. Room was as described and my boss was satisfied. I'd have an event here again in the future.
I hosted a 22 person corporate dinner at 41N and had an amazing time. The food was fantastic and the wait staff + planning staff were very attentive. They were able to accommodate last minute additions and changes to our menu which I really appreciated! I will definitely keep them in mind for next time I'm in Newport for a corporate event or personal trip! thank you to the entire team!
Save yourself stress and DO NOT BOOK HERE. Beautiful venue, communication, organization an absolute nightmare. Female staff made an effort, but male staff, especially M. Calderoni we’re absent and abysmal at best. It’s really too bad.
Rehearsal dinner that was planned way in advance. Put down deposit and heard from nobody. Had to follow up several times before we found that the person we dealt was gone, the replacement had no customer service qualities and then he was replaced. We delay with 3 different people. A lot of communication disconnect. Which caused many issues. We received final contract and proposals 36 hours before the event. The price was completely outrageous. But at that point we were stuck. I would never recommend this venue. A beautiful spot but don’t be fooled - terrible service and extremely over priced.
Held our Sept '22 wedding and reception here
The good: Beautiful venue/location and views. Food was INCREDIBLE, portions were large and we got many compliments from our guests. It's downtown Newport so definitely not cheap, but compared to other Newport wedding venues/caterers, pricing was reasonable
The bad: We booked in 12/20 w/ coordinator Emily who was fantastic, responsive and a factor in our venue decision. Since then, there were many changes in management NONE of which were communicated to us. First time it happened we had sent Emily a question - she let us know she was leaving, who her replacement was, and that they'd reach out January of our wedding year. When Feb '22 came and we heard nothing we reached out to the new person, no response. After several attempts, we had to hunt down someone in charge by calling multiple times and were then told there was ANOTHER new event coordinator Olivia. We met her at our tasting - she was actually pretty decent/communicative until one day we emailed her a question and got an automatic reply with a NEW person to contact, Michael. I forwarded my email to Michael, got an immediate reply on 6/1 that he’d look into my (very simple) questions and get back to me asap, and then didn't hear back. I followed up on 6/26 (no response) & finally heard back when I asked on 7/2 if he could acknowledge that he’s even getting our emails considering our wedding is in 68 days and we've paid you $15k so far. Communication continued to lack. We are VERY reasonable, forgiving people since we also work in customer service and even we had to get him on a call to ask what the hell was going on. Things somewhat improved after that, but was still inconsistent at best. The experience made the 2 months before our wedding extremely stressful
We had a quick “rehearsal” the night before that was actually just me asking a million questions because neither Michael nor anyone else was driving the ship on discussing logistics. On our wedding day there were several things that irked me and were just bad service. 1) in the 30 minutes before our ceremony I had to ask if valet/front desk could stop directing guests to the ceremony space by sending them DIRECTLY through the area we were told to “hide” from guests 2) had to ask numerous times to remove random people (who were OBVIOUSLY not guests) from the event spaces we paid to reserve for a PRIVATE event despite being told there’d be adequate privacy partitions. We continued to have strangers walk through the courtyard -what is the point of “reserving" event space at that point? They mostly locked it down by dinnertime but it really pissed us off 3) food display that was supposed to be out at cocktail hour went out w/ late night snacks 4) guest had to point at the signature drink sign sitting ON THE BAR COUNTER to explain to a bartender who had no idea there were signature drinks we planned with Michael 5) husband was approached during the late hours of our wedding (after we all had been drinking for hours) to settle up our final bill that we were told by Michael we'd “figure out/pay after the wedding.” We literally only owed taxes/gratuity/total for table wine service, and we were staying overnight AT Forty 1 North. This should’ve been taken care of the next AM when we were SOBER, checking out, & collecting our personal items they held for us that and that we obviously wouldn’t have ran away the next morning without if they were concerned about us stiffing them on the bill
We hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Forty 1 North and from the beginning, the experience was less than ideal. Throughout the planning process, the event manager changed 4 times, and often we would get no notification of this change, leaving us waiting for answers to our questions and emails. We reserved the entire gallery and courtyard space and were assured that there would be adequate security to prevent the general public from walking through the space. One the day of, there was a large group of people sitting in our reserved space with no intention of moving. We had to ask the staff THREE times to ask the people to relocate. Throughout the entire event, there was no security to make sure people were not walking through our space to the adjacent restaurant. During our cocktail hour, we had strangers constantly moving through the guests and in the middle of speeches, yet again, countless people moving through our event. We paid for two bars to be set up during cocktail hour-- when we arrived, only 1 was set up. Halfway through cocktail hour, a guest of the hotel decided it would be a good time to bring his dog through our reserved space to go potty (again, no security). The hors d'oeuvres that were set out that were supposed to serve 60 people looks as if they could MAYBE feed 10 people. Lastly, the VERY expensive food was so undercooked, tables and tables of guest (myself included) did not eat. I would never recommend this venue to anyone! Extremely overpriced and truly a waste of your money.
GOOD FOOD, TERRIBLE EVENT MANAGEMENT. I normally don't leave such negative reviews, but unless you want to be entirely stressed out leading up to and during your wedding, go somewhere else. Where to begin... 1) We booked this venue, just for a 50-person reception, a year and a half in advance for our wedding after meeting the first event manger, Emily, who was very communicative. 2) As it started to get closer to the wedding, we hadn't heard from the venue and decided to reach out to Emily, with no response. After several failed attempts to contact the venue, we finally got in touch with the new event manager, Olivia, who seemed okay. 3) A few more months went by and no further update from the venue about our requested menu changes, timing, etc. 4) Again, we tried to contact Olivia with no response, only to find out later that she had quit and there was another person in charge, Michael. We left voicemail after voicemail (plus email) with no response. It got so bad that less than a month before the wedding my husband had to contact the owner of the WHOLE HOTEL to get a response from Michael. 5) We finally got a phone meeting with Michael and went over the details of the day, again. (Every time we got a new event manager, we had to reexplain everything we wanted, even though it was it our event file). 6) Day before, it seemed like the assistant to Michael had no idea what the schedule was or how things were supposed to be. I left the venue the day before my wedding feeling more stressed out than when I got there. Plus, we found out A DAY BEFORE that there was another party immediately after the reception and we needed to clear out ASAP after it was over. We were originally told we could leave our stuff there overnight. 7) Day of, it seemed to go off fairly smoothly even though there were some mistakes (Wine was supposed to be on tables before guests arrived, signature drink was made incorrectly, favors were not set out timely, there was no cake cutting knife set out ahead of time, we ended up using a dirty steak knife). Thankfully, none of the guests noticed the mishap and the food was very good. However, not once during the reception did Michael come over and check to see if everything was okay, but some guests saw him counting the tip jar from the bar mid-reception. (It was clear where his priorities lie). TL;DR: Overall, our guests had a good experience because we paid for a lot of food and it was delicious. However, for spending over $15,000 for a 4-hour reception, I expected much better communication and to actually feel like someone gave a f*** about us. It was definitely not worth the stress I had leading up to and throughout the day.
My husband and I had an absolutely beautiful wedding ceremony and reception in the Courtyard and Gallery space at Forty 1 North. The food and service was absolutely fantastic, and we could not be happier with how everything turned out. If you are looking for a beautiful, versatile and unique space for your wedding look no further!
We had the most amazing rehearsal dinner at Forty1 North this past LDW. The food was outstanding, our guests were wowed, and the service was great! Olivia made sure everything was set up the way we requested, and handled all our details -thank you!
My husband and I had our Rehearsal Dinner at 41 North and we couldn't have been happier with the service, setting, and food. We worked directly with Roxanne & Jenna and they were both incredibly helpful, creative and professional. We experienced several big changes on our end in terms of planning which greatly impacted logistics, however we were relieved that Roxanne and the rest of the staff were always flexible and accommodating. They helped us adjust to the evolving plans of our event and they delivered a truly beautiful vision and positive experience for our guests.
In addition to the amazing job by the event staff, the rest of the evening was incredible as well. All the servers and employees who were present provided excellent service-- not to mention the food was also phenomenal. I am already running out of superlatives to describe our positive experience with the 41 North staff and venue. Last but not least, the interior design and ambiance created by the staff was warm, inviting, and beautiful.
We would highly recommend the use of 41 North for any event, and would personally endorse the use of 41 North for a rehearsal dinner due to our amazing experience.
Best,
Jake + Liza
