Founder's Club at Plantation Bay

Long post ahead, but I have a lot to say. For starters, we were so excited to use this venue. We had booked it 14 months in advance because they were building a brand new clubhouse (which is being advertised now, when it is still not finished - Aka the big white building picture is not what is available at this time). We were promised that new clubhouse for our wedding venue with no hesitation that it would be finished with time to spare before our wedding. Over and over again throughout the 14 months leading up to our wedding, we were GUARANTEED that the new club house would be finished through emails and in person meetings. This clubhouse was going to be modern, with floor to ceiling windows, a larger space, a bridal suite, etc. These were all reasons I booked the space so far in advance, it was perfect. Until 6 WEEKS before my wedding, I got an email, not even a phone call that my dream wedding venue was not going to be ready in time for my wedding. I trusted them that this was going to be done, and it wasn’t. They had to have known in advance that it wasn’t going to be done and trapped me by giving me 6 weeks notice to not have time to find a venue that could host a wedding. Thus, I was stuck with the old, outdated clubhouse, that did not have all of the beautiful enhancements that I dreamed of for my big day. The older clubhouse didn’t have a bridal suite either, I was offered the men’s locker room or upstairs bar area a place to get ready instead, when a bridal suite was a huge component of me booking a venue in the first place. With my dreams crushed and feeling trapped, upper management DID NOT even offer any sort of compensation. Which is absolutely disgusting to me. I booked 14 months in advance for a much nicer venue, only to be told 6 weeks in advance that I wasn’t getting what I booked and also I still have to pay full price? Greg and Darius were unimaginably rude and did not care about me or my now husband or how we felt about the situation at all. There was no attempt to help the situation, especially with upper management. So please beware before booking, because upper management is not helpful & is only looking to make money without making the client happy. Kris, the event planner, on the other hand was great and truly there for every step of the way. He listened and helped make our day the best he could with what we had. He hugged me when I cried, he decorated, he directed everyone on the wedding day, he cleaned up, he tried to ease my worries, he listened to my frustrations and wished he could do more. Did we have a good day? Of course, I married the love of my life. However, I do not think it was worth what we paid for. Just please think about this before booking here!! It’s the most important day of your life, and for it to be ruined by people who don’t care just puts so much extra stress on a crazy time in your life. You want a venue that’s going to be easy and be there for you if they mess up.

Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club is an great location for a wedding. Kathryn did an amazing job creating a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception for my daughter. Outstanding !

The food and beverage manager Janet Gallant made the process easy and enjoyable. The food was delicious. Absolutely no complaints. Prices were very reasonable. The club house was just remodeled. It's beautiful. Included in our price was a condo for the night:)
