Best day ever!!! I wish I could do it all over again. I was a little bit of a Bridezilla at times but that never changed the excellent service that I received from Maggie. She was absolutely amazing. She assured me that everything would be fine on my special day and it was. We had our ceremony and reception there. We had a cocktail hour that included passes appetizers. Can’t forget the open bar. The service was superb. The food was amazing. Everything was perfect and so affordable. If you are bride in the area and considering Four Points, book them! Maggie will take care you of you.
I’ve been wondering what exactly to say about our experience with Four Points. Overall, the experience was good and the reception was beautiful. Guests complimented the food and decor. Maggie and Kayla (originally worked with Kayla before Maggie) answered our questions to the best of their ability and helped clear up some misunderstandings, like when our guests were being turned away from our room block. Guests were being told that the 20 room block was full when it was not (I think at the time only 3-5 or so rooms were booked). After that was cleared up and I informed out-of-town guests, many opted to book at another hotel instead. Thankfully the block was complimentary and some guests, like my aunt who just had surgery, was able to get a room. Unfortunately, my aunt requested a handicap room (as she had a post-surgery wheelchair/cane) and none was available. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate her in other ways (we found out after that another of our guests was given a handicap room, which they were a bit confused about, as they didn’t need a handicap room). The hall for cocktail hour was set up in a way so guests did not know the antipasti tray existed, so it was barely touched. I don’t know if it was later brought into the ballroom for guests to eat from. All of this was discovered/told to me by guests after the reception the next day. There was also a misunderstanding as to how much of our (not cheap) cake was left after the fact and if a significant portion of it was simply thrown away rather than packaged up and given back to us (they don’t allow you to take home food made at the hotel, and claimed they had no plastic wrap or anything to wrap the cake in, which we found a bit hard to believe.) In the contract, it said a plate of appetizers would be set aside for the bride and groom, but we did not get one. So no appetizers for us, which was a shame as we were looking forward to them.
Now, this is not to say you shouldn’t have your reception here. As I said, everything was beautiful and guests had a great time, which I am very happy with. Aside from the above, we were happy with the reception. (I’m no expert, but we thought the champagne for the toast was very good!) But you should be aware of what is happening and don’t wait for something to happen and have to react to it. Come prepared, ask questions, confirm details like room blocks, etc, and make sure you are getting what you paid for. Be very hands-on, even if it feels awkward.
Also, come prepared with a cooler and storage for your cake.
We had our wedding reception here and worked directly with Kayla through the process. She was very knowledgeable and informative about what we were wanting out of our wedding reception and always was able to answer any questions we had. Overall, great location, great staff, great time for the price!
Maggie, Kayla, and all other staff at the Four Points by Sheraton were extremely helpful and amazing throughout the entire process of our wedding. Maggie was there to answer all my questions and I always felt like no question was too silly! The venue is gorgeous and the entire staff was friendly. We met with Maggie a few different times and always felt like things were under control. The food tasting day was our favorite! They made the entire wedding process fun and exciting. We are so grateful to have held our big day at the Sheraton!
One of the main reasons we chose Four Points as our venue was the convenience of a hotel being connected as we were having a lot of guests traveling to our wedding. The service we received from the venue staff was beyond what I was expecting during our planning process and day of. Maggie and Kayla were always quick to respond to our questions, change things at the last minute, and kept things flowing during our reception. The food was great and the servers were on top of clearing courses in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend Four Points if you are interested in having a stress free planning process and a seamless reception!
From the first meeting with the staff at the Four Points all the way to the reception we couldn't have asked anything more of them. The communication of what you would get, how you would get it and the cost was of the utmost service. They were accommodating to special needs for guests whether it be a vegetarian meal to offering a room right off the hall for the more senior adults to sit during cocktail hour. The food tasting event was more than I expected. We were sat in a small room that was made up to reflect how tables would look at the reception. In addition the spread of food that they wanted us to taste to determine our menu was unbelievable and delicious. It made it very difficult to decide what we wanted to serve to our guests because the choices were so good. The day of the wedding the staff worked diligently to make the evening flawless.
Four Points by Sheraton is amazing! From the first meeting a year ago until now Maggie Blood the catering manager handled every detail with ease & professionalism; she made sure all of our questions were addressed promptly & even became our personal concierge on the day of our reception. We can't thank them enough for making our big day so special!
Our wedding planning adventure was exactly that, an adventure. We were planning during a time of much change at Four Points. We worked with 3-4 different coordinators. It was an incredibly frustrating experience, but definitely worked out in the end. We worked with Kayla for the last couple months of our engagement. She was amazing. She was attentive and responsive. She was as flexible as she could be for us. We were nervous about having a plated meal, and the chef and Kayla did everything to ease our fears and make sure the food was incredible, and on our wedding day, it definitely was. We have heard nothing but compliments on the food and atmosphere of our wedding this past weekend. Even our vendors were impressed with the coordination of everything for such an incredibly large wedding. We could not have been happier with the end result, and even through the frustrations of change, we would choose the Four Points again in a heartbeat!
The staff at Four Points made sure our reception was wonderful! They were flexible and extremely helpful through all of the planning. The wedding/event coordinator ensured that everything was taken care of leading up to and during our entire wedding weekend. The hotel was able to meet all of the bridal party's needs to get ready. The reception staff were prompt with service and the food was delicious! Having our reception at the same location of our guest accommodations was so convenient. We received many compliments on our reception from family and friends. We highly recommend Four Points by Sheraton in Fairview Heights for your big day!
Planning our reception with The Four Points by Sheraton in Fairview Heights, IL was almost a comedy of errors... We started our planning efforts with a very well put together events planner that made us feel very comfortable from the get-go. About a month after signing our contract to have our reception at this venue, we emailed The Four Points to schedule our meal tasting/selection and got a delayed response from their new events coordinator. We scheduled our tasting and then problems started... We were contracted to have a block of rooms--which we were responsible for booking 80% of or we would be responsible for the lost income to the hotel. Even though we had been contracted for over a month, the hotel still hadn't set up our block of rooms. So the relatives who had already called to make reservations were placed under a different block of rooms and had to call again to be moved to our block. We were told there was an event coordination intern who would be coordinating our event. We were told in April and since our wedding wasn't until October, I felt comfortable with that since she would have many other weddings to practice on before she had to execute on ours. The intern was the one to put our block of rooms together. As the deadline for the block of rooms came closer, we started reminding our guests that they needed to make room reservations in order to get the negotiated rate. Our best man and his wife called to make a reservation and they were told there was only one room left. When I ran the report, we only had four of the 30 rooms in our blocked booked. They were also told that the negotiated rate was for the day of our event. Our contract had negotiated rates for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. So not only were they putting our guests in the wrong block of rooms, they were not following the contract we had signed with them. It took us a call to Sheraton's customer service, the hotel's general manager, and our event coordinator and 2 full business days before things were straightened out. They then gave us all the guests with reservations at the hotel for our event weekend to make sure that all of our guests were in our block--which I'm pretty sure violates some kind of privacy law. Two weeks before our event, we met with the event coordinator--the intern who had now been hired full time by the hotel--and she had forgotten many of the details we had picked out and gone over at our tasting, so we had to go through all of it all over again. She also talked very loudly, often over my husband and I, and didn't listen very well to what we wanted, so we had to go over things a second time. The day before our event, we took all of our decorations and explained where everything was supposed to go. The day of the event, the room looked wonderful, but the small details--the ones that we had discussed both at tasting and at our meeting 2 weeks before the event--weren't what we asked for. We had a mailbox for cards at the gift table which was right next to an open door. We asked that the mailbox be moved, and the event staff refused to move it. Our head waiter was very polite and on top of all the service details. The event coordinator--someone different than who we had worked with up to the wedding--was wearing grey sweat pant/leggings and a shirt that opened in the back with no sleeves. She was dressed very inappropriately and had a little bit of a mouth on her. Overall, the night and event worked out.
We are so happy that we chose the Four Points to have our reception. The food, planning, and put together was fantastic!! Our guests loved everything on the menu! The staff that helped on our special day, were so friendly and helpful to us and our guests needs. I have continued to praise about how great the Four Points was to have on our day! I want to thank everyone at the Four Points for all the hard work they have done for us!! THANK YOU!!!!!
We had an excellent experience with Four Points by Sheraton Fairview Heights. The staff is outstanding, the space is beautiful and the location is convenient. Our New Year's Eve reception in the ballroom was everything we hoped for and every detail was executed flawlessly. The food is top-notch and the staff is very personable. Our guests enjoyed their stay at the hotel and it was great to have enough hotel rooms for everyone. We would definitely recommend the Four Points Fairview Heights!
We could not have found a more perfect place to have our reception. The staff was very kind and accommodating from day one up until we check out from our honeymoon suite. The food was so good I want to go back just for dinner as if it was a restaurant and not a hotel/entertainment hall. Will recommend this place to anyone. I had a work function here years before our wedding and the food was just as good and the service was just as great. That is the main reason why we went here for our reception.
