My husband and I got married on June 4, 2022 at a winery near Foxwoods. We chose Foxwoods due to location and convenience. We really wanted to like Foxwoods, but we had so many iss...ues along the way.
We booked a room block of 25 rooms one year out, and every few months I'd ask them to add more rooms, but they won't do it unless the block is completely full. So of course, 3 weeks out we run out of rooms and some people still haven't booked. We were able to get more rooms added but only at a higher rate. Additionally, after the weekend my mom noticed she was overcharged for her room. Turns out, they charged ALL of our guests the higher rate, even the ones who booked early. My husband called and they agreed to issue everyone a credit on their statement. We were really disappointed that this mistake was left up to our guests to catch.
Additionally, we requested early check in on Friday and late check out on Sunday in order to accommodate timing of our rehearsal dinner and brunch. We asked many times, and were told that this was impossible to guarantee. We called Foxwoods on Friday morning and they said they would give us early check in, but we had to pay $50 for late check out on Sunday. We were spending thousands of dollars there over the weekend and brought in over 60 guests, why stress us out and not just give us these requests as VIPs?
Also…beware of all of the COVID closures in Fox Tower. We wanted to get bagels and coffee for the room in the morning as the bridesmaids were getting ready, but Einstein bagels is closed (as of June 2022). When I asked room service to deliver 8 coffees to the room (FYI they can only deliver cups and not a pot of coffee to the Fox Tower), I was told it would be $80!!!! $10 a coffee?! Plus, with nowhere to get bagels in the morning (sorry but I'm not paying $20 a person for room service omelets), we had to bring all of the breakfast food in on Friday, and they wouldn't even bring us a second fridge. Luckily my husband and my dad were available to run to Juniors and bring us $3 coffees, but I couldn't believe the lack of room service in Fox Tower.
Transportation is also no longer provided by Foxwoods, so we had to go to a third party limo company.
That being said, our suite was nice and large and it was a great place to get ready with my bridesmaids. The Sunday brunch was also delicious, the room was great, and it went seamlessly. Although, we wanted to offer our guests cash bar, but were told it would cost $2K just to bring a bartender in. Luckily everyone was too hungover to drink!
And finally, the after party at Centrale was AMAZING. Sebastian was so great and helpful. He hooked us up with a great section for no cost and suggested ordering food, so we brought in 10-15 pizzas which was key to keep the party going at 11pm. Honestly, the after party made everything worth it. While most people have their after party at Shrine (the club in Fox Tower), we wanted a more chill vibe and wanted people to be able to gamble and then come back. Centrale is right in the middle of the casino floor, but still plays music and we were able to get food. I would definitely recommend having an after party there - but reserve a section ahead of time. They say there's a 2 drink minimum per guest, but it wasn't enforced.
