I wish I could give this venue a thousand stars. We love the Franklin Park Conservatory and have always enjoyed coming here. We had our ceremony and reception in the Palm House and Wolfe Terrace and I cannot recommend it enough. It was absolutely stunning. Guests kept commenting on how breathtaking it was. You barely even need decor and we were able to go light on the flowers (which created a lot of extra room in our budget) since the Palm House is so beautiful by itself. The venue is incredibly affordable considering how beautiful and friendly the event space is. We worked with 3 different wedding coordinators there throughout my time (not due to turnover, just different staff assisting with our wedding) and each one was so helpful and extremely quick to respond. To be fair, we had a small wedding (35-40 guests) so I am not sure how things would scale up; if you are having a large wedding, you would probably still want a wedding planner and not just to rely on the coordinators here. But if you are having a small wedding like we did and are an organized person, they will take care of you just fine, no planner necessary!
This venue is phenomenal. We had our ceremony in the palm house and reception outside on the terrace. The atmosphere was so beautiful. We really didn't need a whole lot of extra decor/flowers because the surroundings were already a statement. The venue came with a day of coordinator who who was so helpful with communicating with vendors and making sure everything was set up as we envisioned. The only small thing that we noticed was there were a 2 or 3 other weddings happening the same night, so we could hear the music from the wedding reception next to us. But it wasn't too distracting or taking away from our reception. Just something to note. Would absolutely recommend getting married here!
We had our ceremony in the Palm Room. It photographed beautifully and our guests love the space! Our coordinator, Lauren, was great to work with and met with us 90 days before and 30 days before to go over details. She was always available to us and helped so much at the rehearsal and the day of. We have been members of the conservatory and it lived up to our dream of getting married there.
Any questions?
We had such an incredible experience having our wedding at the conservatory. Allyson was our initial planner and I am obsessed with her, she was so friendly and fun and answered every question we had with enthusiasm. I truly felt like she cared about our day. Bailey was our venue coordinator and she was so professional, organized, experienced, and nice. She answered any questions we had and helped with anything we needed. She was timely with her emails and really made a stressed out bride feel more comfortable. On top of all of this the venue is so insanely gorgeous I want to cry when I look at my pictures. If you want your dream wedding, it's worth the splurge.
Multiple guests came up to us and told us afterward that this was the most beautiful wedding venue they had ever been to and we completely agree. The staff and coordinators at Franklin Park were so incredible to work with. We initially declined using the outdoor hanging lights, but Franklin Park offered them to us for free! They also did an incredible job cooling down the Palm House, so it was comfortable for our guests.
We booked our wedding ceremony and reception with FPC and could hardly be more pleased with how well our special day went. The event staff and coordinators are kind, professional, and knowledgeable and will make it feel easy to utilize the conservatory's beautiful spaces in the best possible way. Guests have the ability to fully explore the grounds and all the gorgeous displays within, and there is hardly any reason to purchase extra decorations due to the surrounding arrangements. Professional photos taken onsite will be truly magical.
It is worth noting that this is a fairly cost-prohibitive venue. We had a party of around 80 total, and used the smaller venue spaces to save cost. Despite this, our original estimate was exceeded by some 50%, including a variety of fees that the Conservatory doesn't necessarily "hide", but also does not make obvious up front. If money is not a problem, none of this should matter, as the venue and services you receive are absolutely top-notch. However, if you are on a tight budget, it would be wise to declare your hard spending limit early as you begin coordinating with FPC, just to ensure everyone is on the same page.
One huge benefit of using FPC as a wedding venue is the Day-Of Coordinator they provide. Lauren, our Coordinator, was the most punctual and easily accessible of all of our vendors by a wide margin in the months leading up to the wedding day. On the day itself, she managed every single aspect of the setup, vendor arrangement, bridal party movements, etc, to the point where we did not need to be concerned about a thing. It took a great deal of stress off our minds and allowed us to focus on prepping for the ceremony, and then just enjoying the rest of the evening.
A very small side note, but still worth mentioning, is that this is still a public venue that is operating as-usual on the day of your wedding. The spaces you rent will be private for you and your guests, of course, but any adjoining hallways or the spaces between your get-ready suites and the ceremony/reception areas will have Conservatory guests roaming about as they normally would. Lauren did a good job for us making sure when we needed to use certain travel paths or line ourselves up for entry to our event spaces that the public did not get in our way.
Overall, FPC was a beautiful space and provided extraordinarily professional services. They get a solid 4 stars from us, but a slightly more up-front cost model would easily earn that 5th star in a heartbeat.
We could not have had a more dreamy venue. We got married in the brides garden and our reception was on the terrace. It was the most breathtaking and intimate setting. Katie, our coordinator, made our wedding (and the months leading up to it) so special and perfect. Each detail was exactly as we dreamed, and Katie made the day stress free. She is kind, thoughtful and organized. We couldn’t have had a better coordinator, venue or day. It was everything and more.
Franklin Park Conservatory is easily one of my favorite venues in Columbus! I have shot there a few times as a wedding photographer and videographer, each time walking into a stunning tropical utopia of lush green palms paired with beautiful decor adorned with more gorgeous florals! As a vendor, we very much appreciated the effortless experience that was provided. They did a wonderful job taking care of the Bride and Groom throughout their wedding day, ensuring everything was prepared, running smoothly and on time! The added bonus of having a wedding in the Palm House at Franklin Park Conservatory is the exclusive access to the Butterfly House after hours, which made the perfect backdrop for romantic couples’ portraits! It was absolutely incredible, and we can't wait for the next FPC Wedding! Thank you again for crea ting such an amazing environment!
We had such an amazing wedding day at the Palm House. We personally didn’t pay for any extras in terms of additional lighting or further decoration, and I’m happy with that choice. The venue is beautiful and I found the standard lighting they provide to be more than enough. We went through metro cuisine, which was cheaper, and much better, than the other options we tried. They do require you to cater through their short list of vendors, and we would have liked to have a bit more control over the alcohol selection. They allow you to select one beer and one wine, and then you select from their limited options. It would’ve been nice if we could select more of our own to suit our taste. That’s a minor point overall. The venue was absolutely gorgeous, we keep getting comments about it. It wasn’t the cheapest venue we looked at, but I consider it more than worth it. I would recommend the Palm house out of any of their spaces, but do know it was pretty warm in there on Feb 3rd, when we had our wedding, so I don’t think I’d recommend it for a Summer wedding, as there’s no AC in that space.
We are so happy with our decision to have our reception at Franklin Park! We got married in a church and had our reception at the Palm House and Wolfe Terrace. We initially had hoped to have cocktail hour inside and dinner outside on the terrace, however it ended up being a little too chilly and windy to be outside. FPC was very accommodating in helping us build out our Plan A and the backup plan we ended up going with. The staff was friendly and easy to work with. So many of my guests commented on how beautiful and unique of a space it was! Dinner started during sunset and it looked absolutely magical inside! My only complaint was that our bar ran out of most garnishes and a few of the mixers a decent amount of time before last call. Not the biggest deal at all, but still a little bit of a bummer when you are paying so much for the event.
We worked with several people throughout the process. All of the staff was wonderful and knowledgeable. We were able to make decisions quickly for most items and take our time for others. We are so pleased with how our wedding turned out and Franklin Park Conservatory is the reason why.
The FPC is definitely one of the prettiest venues in Ohio. It's like getting married in a magical fairy garden. All of my guests raved how it was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever been to and that was largely due to the venue being so unique and not like your typical wedding venue. My husband and I actually had our ceremony up the road at the Statehouse, following with our reception in the Palm House. The Palm House is definitely the most beautiful space of all the ones offered at FPC. Luckily we had great weather so we were also able to have cocktail hour on the John Wolfe Terrace which provided the prettiest backdrop for photos. Overall, my experience with the staff was exceptional. Emily Anderson was my contact from the moment I signed my contract and then a month before your wedding you will get assigned a day-of contact. Mine was Sarah Schafer and she was so amazing to work with! She also responded so thoroughly and quickly to each of my emails and she was always willing to give me her honest opinion about things. The bartenders during my reception were also amazing because they were so fast! We had three different signature cocktails and they were still able to keep the line moving rapidly. While the majority of my experience was top-notch, there are a few things I think people should be aware of when booking. First, if you are getting married in the Palm House, please keep in mind that it is a greenhouse which means, no AC, bugs, some dirt, etc. Luckily our reception started late so the sun was set by the time our guests arrived, but it was still scorching hot in there, even on 9/30. This is NOT a good venue for a summer wedding! Secondly, this is not a good venue if you are on a budget. The initial cost exceeds most wedding venues in the city and things will only get more and more expensive as you add things on. The upside of the venue is that you don't really have to worry about florals or décor because the plants speak for themselves. However, plan to pay an extra $500 for PAPER lanterns that they already own or even bistro lights which cost $1000 for the cheapest package. Nonetheless, money added up the fastest at this venue. Lastly, what added the most stress of all to the wedding day is that you are only allowed to start setting up TWO HOURS before your event start time. Not only is this no time, but you, your fiancé and closest friends and family will likely be unavailable because you're getting ready or getting pictures. Therefore, it's nearly impossible to set up without a wedding planner because your event planner does not set up stuff for you. They will help as they can, but they do not just set everything up for you. This added a great deal of stress to my wedding day. Overall, a beautiful and unique venue and I wouldn't have done a single thing differently!
Everything about this venue was perfect. The staff was incredibly kind and hardworking to make sure the day was perfect.
This venue was truly a dream straight out of my Pinterest board. It was the garden party I always thought of as a little girl. The staff were all so caring and helpful every time I emailed. The only complaint I have with this venue was their lack of communication about a massive event that would be taking place on our wedding day. We found out less than a month before the big day that a very large number of people would be allowed into the venue after hours during our wedding time to wander the grounds freely. A big reason we picked the venue was because we knew it would be a private and peaceful space. Instead, I was stared at on my way from my dressing room to walk down the aisle, during pictures, and even my own ceremony. I wish I was informed of this event before I gave them a ton of money, and if it was a recently planned event, I find it disrespectful to plan something on a day where a guest has already paid for their event in full.
This venue was a dream! My now-husband and I both love the FPC so when we were looking for a wedding venue it was really no contest. That said, we had no idea how incredible the whole events team was! Allyson (our initial sales coordinator), Emily (our planning coordinator) and Bailey (our month/day-of coordinator) were all so wonderful! They each patiently answered my million questions and were so lovely and professional to work with. Being able to step back and relax and know that the wedding was going to be a breeze was absolutely not something I ever anticipated but that's exactly what happened towards the end. The Palm House was perfect for our late-April daytime wedding, and our guests really loved being able to walk around and explore the beautiful grounds and exhibits. I would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone!
We held our daughter's wedding in the Palm House at FPC and it was amazing!. The venue is beautiful and made such a fantastic experience for our guests. Katie, our event coordinator, did a great job ensuring all of our plans and details were met. It was a beautiful experience all around
We could not have asked for a more perfect vendor to trust our wedding day with. Celebrating in the Palm House on the first night of their Conservatory Aglow holiday light festival was just magical. We had 100 guests with 11 tables, a large 9-piece band, and a ton of room to dance (so if you're worried about hosting a large affair in the Palm House, no need to fret at all). Leading up to our wedding, the staff were responsive and helpful. Day-of, they played a pivotal role in ensuring that everything went smoothly. They took care of ceremony timing, drinks (guests raved about our specialty cocktails), and every little detail that can sometimes be overlooked in planning such a big event. We could not have asked for a better experience and a better wedding day at the Franklin Park Conservatory.
I can't imagine a better venue experience! From start to finish, communication was clear and every person was accommodating. I wasn't expecting any day-of coordination, and had assigned my family decorating roles, but Katie and team offered to help set up. This was so thoughtful and a huge relief - we could all rest easy knowing she had everything under control.
Wonderful venue! FPC was a dream to work with - the team in charge of our event (Ali) was amazing and friendly throughout our entire process. We had our reception in the Wells Barn and it was perfect! I always dreamed of getting married at the FPC and my dreams came true. All of my guests were happy and impressed with everything. I'm so glad we had our event here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
If you want your dream venue, choose FPC. They have so many venues to ensure your wedding day is the best! Me and my husband chose The Community Garden Campus for our ceremony and the Wells Barn for our reception. Both were incredible and I could not have imagined it any other way.
Not only are their venues aesthetically pleasing to the eye, their Wedding Staff is incredible. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Bailey who ensured I had the best day ever. Her support throughout the process was unwavering and so accommodating, especially with me living in a different state.
The entire staff throughout the reception night was just amazing, the bartenders were friendly and so much fun, the set up and clean up crews were efficient and so friendly.
I cannot imagine having a better day and it was all due to FPC and their dedication to their craft.
Choose them and you can guarantee the best wedding day ever!
Take the stress out of your big day! The staff are excellent. They worked together with our caterer and DJ to keep us on schedule yet, we didn't feel like we were pushed along at all. What a gorgeous venue. Reception on the terrace at night was delightful.
The Franklin Park Conservatory is popular wedding venue in Columbus for good reason the grounds and the greenhouses are gorgeous. The staff and planning assistance are top-notch. We can't wait to get our photos back from the wedding and reflect on getting married in a jungle!! Thank you all.
The event folks at FPC are so thorough and easy to work with. We didn’t have to think about a thing the day of the wedding because they had already taken care of it.
We got both bridal suites indoors due to being the only wedding scheduled that day, which was so nice. Having the space for both of us brides was super helpful.
Besides the space being stunning to begin with, the professionalism of the day-of coordinators made this venue absolutely perfect.
Our daughter and her husband's wedding was held at the Community Garden Campus and Wells Barn. Staff were responsive, professional and complete from first contact to post event. Bar staff were great. The garden ceremony set up and facilities were beautiful including gardens and barn, bridal and groom private rooms, restrooms, everything spotlessly clean. Coordination between FPC staff and musicians, DJ, florist and caterer were seamless. We could not possibly be happier with our experience.
Beautiful venue! We had our wedding in the Palm House and Wolfe Terrace. The bridal suite was clean and convenient, although it did not have the best lighting. Guests enjoyed the option to explore the conservatory grounds. We were able to drop off items the day before which made the wedding day less stressful. Allyson and her team were super helpful in coordinating the vendors and the space. We did hire an external wedding day assistant to help with decor and timeline details. We had a brunch wedding on a cloudy 5/28 day, and the temperature in the Palm House was perfect. Could not have asked for a more magical wedding venue!
We had a beautiful intimate ceremony at Franklin Park Conservatory and everything was wonderful. Sarah and Brandon were so helpful and communicative through the process and our ceremony is just what we had envisioned.
You know exactly what you are getting at this venue - it's literally breathtaking and the most beautiful venue in Ohio (yes I am biased!). We didn't even look anywhere else as I knew we had to be married here. We did our ceremony in the Palm House and the reception in the Wells Barn, with an hour in between to allow guests to tour the Conservatory. We got married during the Orchids exhibit - even though it was a winter wedding, once you step inside it felt magical and tropical.
Sarah & Allyson were our venue coordinators and they were very responsive, friendly, and organized leading up to the event. The day-of, everything went super smooth and I am sure that is because they were working hard behind the scenes! It is clear they do many events here and know how to manage them well.
We had our wedding here on 9/5/21 - we are of course biased, but had an absolute BLAST. Our event coordinator from the venue Ant was 40/10 amazing . The venue itself is of course stunning, but having Ant on our team is one of the standout memories from the entire experience. She knows the venue inside and out, so was able to guide decision-making for key components. She's also just an incredible personality. She already had an amazing relationship with our catering lead, and quickly formed a strong relationship with our own event planner. That helped to take away so much stress and planning on my end. Knowing that Ant and Ali had it all handled allowed us to just really relax and enjoy the day, which is even more remarkable give there was a threat of rain on the day! Not to mention that Ant is just very fun and funny, and we genuinely enjoyed chatting with her!
The venue itself is of course gorgeous. We had the ceremony inside the Palm House, with the cocktail hour on the lower terrace, and reception on the upper terrace. Every time I see a wedding guest even 4.5 months later, they always comment on how beautiful the entire venue is.
The conservatory also offers some rental options like lights, market tenting, etc. We found that super helpful - just one less thing to have to coordinate with another vendor for. If you are planning your reception outdoors, make sure you rent the string lights! We were grateful for the extra lighting.
I am SO glad we had our wedding with FPC. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone!
We had our wedding ceremony and reception in the Palm House with our cocktail hour in the Veridian. It was absolutely spectacular and beautiful. We couldn’t have picked a better venue for a winter wedding, allowing our tropical dreams to come together with holiday festivity. The coordination team was fantastic, and we can’t thank Allyson enough for making sure that our day was perfect from start to finish! She helped us along every step of the way to make sure that every detail was covered. There is no better venue or team out there!
FPC was a dream come true! I was repeatedly told it was the most beautiful wedding people had attended (I got married in the Palm House/Terrace). I was planning a wedding through the pandemic and was postponed for 1 year. Despite the ever changing plans due to local mandates FPC was on it. They remained sympathetic of the tough times and willingly worked with us. Antoinette was our day of coordinator and she was phenomenal! She took great care of us and even helped us work through a new mask mandate the day of our wedding. She helped us feel so comfortable and ensured she did all the work so we could enjoy the day. Nothing but good things to say about FPC and their team!
My fiance and I got married on the West Terrace on September 18, 2021, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful venue. Our Event Coordinator Antoinette Fetters went above and beyond to make our day special, steamrolling over bumps in the row to make our event absolutely stunning. Given that we had to delay a year due to the pandemic, FPC and Antoinette were so wonderful about working with us with respect to changes that had happened in the interim (including several vendor changes). Our final meeting with Antoinette a few weeks prior to the event was *extremely* thorough and put my mind fully at ease.
Some other notes-- I cannot speak highly enough about the bar staff. While they were busy all evening, they were 1000% professional and probably the best bar staff I've ever seen at a wedding.
I would also recommend adding in the glass unity ceremony. We just picked up our blown glass vase, and it's absolutely beautiful.
- venue (John f Wolfe Palm House) was STUNNING. We moved everything outdoors for covid and I was sad to miss out on being in the green house - I couldn’t have been more wrong. Outside is beautiful, and the setup with string lights made it magical
- venue staff was MORE than accommodating through several covid reschedules and put me at ease the month leading up to it
Franklin Park Conservatory was an amazing venue, as the team provided an exceptional level of service and attention to detail to make sure our special day was more elegant and memorable than we could ever imagined. They were responsive through the process and truly acted as our guide during the planning process. It was remarkable to see how it all come together and we will forever cherish the experience they curated for us.
My husband and I got married in the Palm House this May. Due to Covid, we changed our wedding date twice. The staff was wonderful and our coordinator, Sarah, was extremely helpful, organized, and responsive. She guided us through every step and made sure we were up to date on all protocols. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, which made for perfect pictures! My only complaint would be that since the greenhouse has no A/C, it got pretty hot. The large fans were helpful, though. I believe that A/C units were available to rent, however, we didn't purchase these thinking that our morning wedding would be cool.
My daughter and her now husband had their dream wedding in the Palm Room at Franklin Park. Everything was absolutely perfect and we highly recommend working with Sarah! I give her 5 stars but would give her 11 out of 10 if I could!
My daughter's wedding at Franklin Park Conservatory / Palm House was beautiful!
It was HOT, and we knew to expect that. There are 2 huge fans that helped, and right outside the doors to the Palm House is air conditioning and chairs that people could go to to get cool. I had let my friends and relatives what to expect and requested they dress as best they could (ex: no jackets, short sleeves, etc).
The reception was outside - there was a small tent (it was for the DJ but he stayed inside out of the heat) - my relatives huddled under the tent for shade, and then table umbrellas were brought out that really helped.
Everything was beautiful and Emily was wonderful to work with. She is so calming and had everything under control!!!
I would recommend the beautiful Palm House at Franklin Park Conservatory (who wouldn't ?!?!?!).
Wow. What an event. With everything going on in the world, we can’t thank the staff enough, especially our site coordinator Emily Anderson. Everything on our big day was perfect. Everything ran smoothly. Everything looked amazing. The grounds surrounding the Wells Bard were simply something out of a fairy tale. You can’t go wrong with this site and the dedicated individuals working hard every day to make your day special. Thanks for everything!
My coordinators were the dream team! Anyone who can handle all of my crazy and the crazy that is my mother deserves a medal.
We got married around the corner at Holy Cross Church, had our cocktail hour in the palm house, dinner out on the terrace, and then dancing back in the palm house. The team accommodated every crazy request, kept me from losing my mind worrying about the weather, and ultimately made what could have been super stressful an incredibly pleasant planning experience.
The day was absolutely perfect and we wouldn't have changed a thing!
We got married in the Palm House at Franklin Park Conservatory. The ceremony was absolutely stunning & perfect in every way. It was exactly as we imagined it and if I had to go back and do it all again, I wouldn’t change a thing.
There were a few hiccups and negotiations that needed to be made, some due to things on our end, some on theirs, and some due to the pandemic, but in the end, all was resolved. It was well worth it and we are extremely happy with how things turned out.
Emily Anderson has been so fabulous during our entire experience. We scheduled our wedding very far in advance, before COVID. She helped us to have seamless changes as we needed to find new ways to celebrate during the pandemic. She has been kind, understanding, prompt, and overall fabulous. I cannot recommend her services enough!
Planning a wedding during COVID was not easy to say the least, but the staff at Franklin Park Conservatory did the best they could to make sure our day was exactly what we wanted it to be. Sarah was wonderful at responding quickly to emails and concerns. She worked closely with the caterer, and helped make frequent changes up until the very last minute. The event space turned out perfect, and they were very accomodating for all of our needs!
Although the venue and my actual ceremony was beautiful, dealing with the staff of Franklin Park Conservatory was a nightmare. Particularly Sarah M. who was my day-of-coordinator. I had my ceremony and reception in the Palm House, and it rained really hard during my reception. As the ceiling was leaking and drenching my DJ and equipment (no venue staff in sight) Sarah was called only to state she was "sitting in her office and someone would be bringing an umbrella." She also lost and misplaced some of my wedding items and decorations despite being given very clear directions on what should be set out and where. She was extremely unhelpful throughout rehearsal, wedding, reception, and after.
Not to mention, FPC furloughed all their catering staff after we rescheduled our new covid wedding date with them. We had already moved out of state, and our families had to scramble to find new catering. The toilet was also broken in the grooms' suite. With all the beautiful wedding venues in Columbus and surrounding areas, stay away from Franklin Park Conservatory, or at least ask for a decent day-of coordinator.
What a beautiful place to get married!! Our experience with the staff was rough. They were definitely more focused on collecting payment and communicating their rules but in the end it all came together beautifully. If the planning process is tough hang in there, it will all be worth it!
Of course, the venue is absolutely beautiful - - that goes without saying. The intangibles that Franklin Park provides are also immeasurable. We had to reschedule our wedding date not once, but twice as a result of Covid. Throughout all the uncertainty of planning a wedding during a global pandemic and all the changes and precautions we needed to take to make sure our wedding guests were safe, the staff at Franklin Park Conservatory (particularly Emily) were understanding, patient, and extremely helpful! Then, on the day of our wedding (finally!), Sarah was our day-of coordinator and had everything ready to go, organized, and right in line with the vision we had for our perfect wedding day. Could not be happier with everything they did for us to make our wedding day perfect, even after we had to reimagine what that day would look like several times.
We loved our intimate wedding at Franklin Park. We were married in the Palm House with 20 guests. It was quite hot and the only downside was that the windows were left open before the ceremony and rain soaked the floor. They quickly set to dry as much as they could and left quiet fans going to help with airflow. We had gorgeous photos and can't imagine being married any where else!
Flexible with date changes
We got married at Franklin Park Conservatory's Palm House & Wolfe Terrace and it was amazing! We started working with FPC in May 2019 for our June 2020 wedding, which was then postponed to August 2020. Their communication was incredible. They always responded to my emails within one day (usually with a couple hours). I had so many questions regarding COVID restrictions and they were very responsive. This is a popular venue, so they are familiar with a lot of the other vendors I hired which was super helpful. I did not have to put my FPC coordinator in contact with anyone really - I just gave her their names and she already knew them! Everyone thought the venue was gorgeous. We got married outside and it had plenty of room for social distancing without it really feeling like a "COVID wedding". As stressful as wedding planning was, I am actually a little sad I won't be communicating with FPC anymore since they were so wonderful. It was my dream venue and I would recommend it to anyone!
As local wedding photographers, Beth and I love photographing at FPC every time. No matter if it is raining, snowing or a sunny day, FPC has endless photo opportunities for couples. We look forward to every opportunity to photograph at FPC.
The Franklin Park Conservatory is THE best place in Columbus to get married - not only is the place stunning, they have the best staff, support and food to make your wedding absolutely perfect.
From the beginning, the FPC went above and beyond for us. We were married in the Palm House and the atmosphere was truly magical.
If you are lucky enough to have Olivia and Izaya as your day of coordinators, your wedding will be FLAWLESS. The read my mind and took care of things before even asking (like bringing coffee to the bridal suite when we were getting ready and made sure the groom's suite had drinks post-ceremony). and kept my family informed about the timeline the entire day. My parents were able to enjoy the wedding and not stress because of Olivia and Izaya.
These ladies know what questions to ask and focus on every detail being perfect. They help guide you on big and little decisions and make every wish come true. Olivia talked to my vendors directly to ensure everything would run smoothly. We had a small issue with a vendor, and Olivia took care of things behind the scenes and allowed me to enjoy every minute of the day. They are the dream team and provide perfection at every corner.
I have to share about their catering: We had multiple people tell us how delicious the steak tasted and that it was the best wedding food they ever had - no idea how the FPC Catering got our dinner out so quickly and cooked so perfectly!
The place is on the higher end price-wise, but you, your wedding party, your family and your guests will be in the best hands.
My husband and I got married in the Palm House. The setting created such a romantic and fairy tale-like atmosphere for our ceremony, and the pictures were absolutely stunning. We did not have the reception here, so we scheduled the ceremony at 1:30 pm during the earlier afternoon block Franklin Park offered so we could avoid the inflated evening price for just a 30 minute ceremony.
Our day-of coordinator, Olivia, was absolutely amazing during the entire process. The amount of detail she went into during our first call about the wedding day gave my husband and I a lot of comfort. (We live in Seattle, so we had to do everything over the phone or over email.) Olivia was very organized and on top of every detail so we did not have to be. The wedding day went perfectly because I knew I could just focus on my husband, my family, and I, and rely on Olivia taking care of all the logistics.
Perfect location! Perfect staff! Perfect day!
We could not have asked for a more amazing venue for our wedding. We got married on the Wolfe Terrace and had our wedding in the Palm House. Our point person, Emily was amazing to work with. She was always friendly and quick to respond. Franklin Park was also great - when we wanted to visit the site to go over wedding details or show another family member the venue. The venue itself is gorgeous and automatically makes the ambiance magical for an evening wedding. The bartenders we from the venue were also amazing .
The best night of our lives perfectly played out as planned thanks to the incredible staff at Franklin Park Conservatory. Sarah and Antoinette were not only fun to work with but took care of EVERYTHING (including the details I was dreading). The venue itself was flawless and the staff were unmatched. They truly thought of EVERYTHING. Our family and friends loved every second. I can't recommend this venue enough! Extremely grateful we picked them because our day could not have been better!
We used Franklin Park for our ceremony and we rented the Palm House. Everything was beautiful and our pictures turned out amazing. I loved having a room for us to hide in before the ceremony and it was supplied with water and drinks. Our coordinator with Franklin Park was Emily and she was on top of things and helped things run smoothly the day of. Do note that there is a price for renting the room but there is also an additional ceremony fee when you are making your budget.
Franklin Park Conservatory was our dream ceremony location. It was so easy to book and coordinate, very professional and accommodating. Carrie was an absolute star for our coordinator and made things happen - she took things off MY plate and made a seamless ceremony.
We looked at close to 10 venues around central Ohio and Franklin Park was the runaway favorite. Our September wedding at the Wells Barn was a dream! The outdoor ceremony was beautiful, and my husband and I got to take some stunning pictures in the community gardens. The barn itself was gorgeous. Maria and Olivia were fantastic coordinators and the reason why the day went so smoothly. They responded to all of my questions promptly, kept everyone organized, and regularly checked in on me to make sure everything was going ok. I had a dress with a complicated bustle and Olivia even stepped in to help the other ladies bustle it after the ceremony. I’m very grateful to them for making our special day as stress-free as possible.
We are so thankful for the Conservatory and its staff for all of their help in making our wedding day as beautiful as we had hoped it would be. A very special thanks to Angel R at the conservatory as she went above and beyond to give us the best experience possible.
Our wedding was outdoors adjacent to the Wells Barn and our reception was in the Barn afterwards. It is a beautiful venue and well laid out for this type of event.
Maria, the event coordinator, and Antoinette, the catering coordinator, were enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. They were a big part of why everything ran smoothly. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was the acoustics of the Barn are not great, making conversation at the tables during dinner a little difficult.
Overall, we highly recommend it!
A breathtaking wedding venue, Franklin Park served and a perfect location for our June wedding. It’s a real gem of Columbus. Sarah Mynes was very easy to work with and guided us with decisions about drinks, cocktails, lighting and more. She also was a huge help at the end of the night during clean-up.
The Palm House is an exquisite venue for a wedding. Our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever attended. The event coordinator, Emily, and catering manager, Lauren, were a joy to work with. They were attentive to detail and incredibly responsive to all our requests.
Looking back on our wedding (just one week ago!), my husband and I are so overjoyed we booked the Palm House at the Franklin Park Conservatory for our Wedding Reception.
The space is so beautiful and our guests loved it. Our guests had access to the entire conservatory from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm; and our reception finished around 11:30. There was a small fee (~$150.00) to have the butterfly exhibit open as well and it was absolutely worth it. Unfortunately it was cold and raining on the day of our wedding reception and we couldn't use the outdoor terrace space attached to the Palm House. Thankfully, we were able to use the enclosed bonsai-tree garden space instead of the terrace, which is just as lovely.
We decided to have our reception catered by the Franklin Park Conservatory and I'm very happy and grateful we did. We threw a "heavy hors d'oeuvres and cocktails" style reception. We primarily worked with Lauren Miller in deciding our reception menu, flow of the evening, what we were going have as passed hors d'oeuvres, what was going to be served as stations, how much to order etc. Lauren was extremely knowledgeable and clearly very experienced in what she does. Lauren was excellent to work with and helped us tremendously in planning our reception. We received many compliments on the food we served and Lauren made sure to set some food aside for my husband and I to ensure we got something to eat. Maria, our wedding co-ordinator, was also very accommodating, easy to communicate and work with and was a tremendous help!
I can't say enough good things about our experiencing planning our wedding reception at Franklin Park as well as the actual main event itself. Everything went so smoothly and we are very pleased with the end result!
We could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding! Every aspect of our ceremony and reception was top notch, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Our coordinator, Caitlin, did such an outstanding job. Thanks to her, we were able to relax and enjoy our special day knowing that she had all of the details under control. We would totally recommend the Franklin Conservatory for anyone looking for a picture-perfect and memorable wedding!
We got married at the Wells Barn and Community Gardens at Franklin Park and it was such a beautiful venue! We planned to have our ceremony in the gardens, however it rained our entire day so we had to move inside, but the barn was absolutely stunning. We've had so many of our guests comment on how warm and intimate it was, and we just had an overall amazing experience. We loved that the venue was slightly separate from the other venues in the main conservatory, and our day of coordinator Angel was wonderful. She worked with our planner and the rest of our vendor team and was so helpful with all of the questions I had for her before the big day!
The Franklin Park Conservatory was the absolute best place for our wedding! It was a beautiful venue with an amazingly professional staff, and wonderful catering service. Caitlin and Lauren were absolutely life saving, and so great. I could not gush about this place any more. Everything was very hands on and as smooth as wedding planning can be. They were there with a back up sound system when it was needed, and ran that wedding like a Navy ship. The only warning I have is to absolutely listen to them when they say that the Palm House is warm. They are not lying. It was not uncomfortable, but it’s a greenhouse so don’t wear thick material. I have not one bad thing to say. Beautiful venue!
This venue was the perfect place to make my Columbus, Ohio wedding look like it was in an exotic, fairytale location. Yes, it's a pricier location. Yes, there are restrictions on certain things. But are they all reasonable for the experience you get? Totally.
The catering was fabulous. The food was the best food any of my guests had ever tasted at a wedding. The catering manager, Lauren Miller, is the epitome of professionalism and kindness. The bridal and groom suites were clean and spacious, the teardown staff was perfect, and our wedding coordinator worked hard to make sure everything went off without a hitch. Even the tiny little things that went south day-of were hardly issues and were handled easy and professionally by the staff. I've been going to the Conservatory since I was a little girl and I'm so grateful to their staff for helping to facilitate and bring to life my dream wedding. Thank you Jamia and Lauren!!!
First off, my wedding was beautiful and my day of event coordinator was amazing! They clearly hold a lot of weddings and I was slightly disappointed in the communication for the venue leading up to before I got my actual day of coordinator. I felt like I was constantly having to reach out and find out when I should be doing things. You aren't allowed to bring in any outside alcohol because of their liquor license, which is fine, but they make you pay per drink individually and so our bar bill was a HUGE chunk of our wedding budget. We chose to go with the conservatory catering, the food was all amazing. However, we paid extra to have glassware for everyone and the bar ran out and started serving plastic cups which obviously upset my mom. I had sheets cakes of 2 flavors and then my tiered wedding cake was a third flavor and they didn't even cut my wedding cake when they should have, I had to realize halfway through the night that I didn't get the cake I wanted to eat. I feel like most of the issues we had day of were on the catering end, and it wasn't anything major but for how expensive the venue is, I felt like they were things that should not have happened. They also had a wedding during the morning right before mine in the venue so we couldn't have access to the venue any sooner than 2 hours before the start of the wedding, which was kind of a pain because all the pictures had to be done before the ceremony.
Franklin Park conservatory did an outstanding job for both our ceremony and reception. They were incredibly organized and efficient and really helped me in the planning process. They set up all my decor just as I asked and it looked so beautiful. They were easy to work with and very insightful. They made my vision come to life and I couldn't have asked better people to work with and I fully trusted them to make my day everything I had dreamed of. The day went so smooth because of their guidance and organization, I still have guests talking about how fun and beautiful the day was. Specifically, Lauren Miller and Caitlin Mashhadian made my planning process a breeze and kept the day running smooth. I highly recommend this venue not only for the beauty of it but the AMAZING staff.
My wedding was perfect and everything I imagined. Thanks to my family, friends, and Made From Scratch. No thanks to Franklin Park. The coordinator was terrible and my friends had to take over making sure the reception ran smoothly. They are over priced and have very strict liquor policies. They didn’t have enough chairs and were going to make us pay more to rent some, even though we told them our guest count was 60 more than it actually was. We had the space rented from 6-12 and we had the ceremony beginning at 6. They pushed it back to 6:30 and we didn’t have enough light to get all the pictures we wanted. I’m really sad about that. The grounds are beautiful and the barn was exactly what I wanted. That’s the ONLY reason they get any stars .
My husband and I got married in the Grove with the reception in the Veridian. It was beautiful! (Plus, it required very little decoration because it was already gorgeous.) My husband and I also liked the fact that the rest of the gardens were open throughout the cocktail hour and reception, so our guests could wander around.
We did catering through FPC as well--everything was delicious, and we got several compliments from guests on the food.
Our event and catering coordinators were friendly and great to work with, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. All in all, we had a great experience.
We had visited a couple other venues for our wedding but as soon as we walked through the doors of the Wells Barn we knew this is where we would hold our wedding. Air conditioning was a requirement for our June 16 wedding and we are so glad the Wells Barn is air conditioned because we certainly needed it that day. Sarah was our event coordinator and Molly was our catering coordinator and they were quick to communicate any changes and always wanted to confirm details to ensure our event ran smoothly. The space was everything we were looking for with the lawn for our ceremony and transitioning to the barn for the reception. The lights we added to the barn made the event feel even more intimate and enhanced the old beams throughout the barn. The space was perfect for our 180 guests and we received numerous compliments about the space and how beautiful it was for our wedding.
Franklin Park Conservatory (FPC) was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. Not only were they very reasonably priced, and not only do they have 4 GORGEOUS venues to choose from, but the people that work there were beyond professional, beyond kind, and provided the best customer service I have ever had.
We had picked out Dock 580 for our wedding. However, things took a turn for the worst, and 60 days before our wedding, we started looking for a new venue. 60 days, for a 200 person wedding people. We were asking the impossible, but I reached out to FPC anyway. Russell started working with us and got us in for a tour, 3 tours to be exact, one for the bride, her dad and then the groom, because we couldn't all make it at once. Russell was honest about all the costs for FPC upfront. He did a great job showing us where the money was going and told us which of the many caterers they allow on-site would be the cheapest. He was very responsive and really easy to work with.
30 days before our wedding we signed the contract and met with our event coordinator, Caitlin M., and our franklin park catering contact, Addison. These two ladies did all the hard work. Addison gave us 5 pages of fantastic sounding food, and Caitlin asked all the hard timeline and decor questions. Both of these ladies also came prepared with suggestions, and ideas and everything went very smoothly, because of these two.
Addison specifically reworked our catering proposal 4 times because of my thoughts and suggestions and the head count changes. She made sure the night of that all the vegetarians got their food even though I left one off the map she made for me. Also, the food was fabulous! We had a taco bar which was a great hit with our guests and there was a ton to eat!!! I saw Addison once at the reception, which was when she made me another taco because my husband thought I didn't get enough to eat. SHE MADE ME FOOD GUYS. Seriously, Franklin Park catering was terrific and very reasonable. We paid 9500 for the taco buffet for 175 people.
Caitlin, the event coordinator was seriously the best. She put bridesmaids in their place, she made sure the seats were set up, she put the seating chart together, she made sure the cupcakes we're out and that the cookies were out and that the bar was open at the right time. Caitlin took what would have been a great wedding, and turned it into the best day of my life.
Our total for all parts of the wedding at FPC, was about 16,000, for 175 people. That is with an open bar. Compared to what we would have spent on other nearby venues this was extremely reasonable. Not to mention how we keep getting compliment after compliment on how cool it was to get married at FPC. Everyone loved it!! I personally am a little sentimental and I love that it's a public area, so I can literally go there with my husband every anniversary.
If you're looking for a place to get married that is unique, efficient, fun for kids, budget friendly and close to hotels, FPC is your place. no doubt about it. They will take care of you there.
My husband and I got married here last night! It was a magical and perfect night. Everyone was incredible and kind. The catering service was amazing. Our event coordinator (Sarah) was very sweet and helpful. The Palm House was gorgeous and everyone loved it. Hands down a dream come true.
I was married at the Wells Barn this past weekend- the staff was AMAZING. Our wedding coordinator Angel and Catering lead Addison were absolutely wonderful. Our day went off without a glitch, and best of all, Ben and I were able to enjoy our day without any hassle! Angel and Addison handled EVERYTHING. The grounds were beautiful, clean, and organized exactly how we wanted them for our day. Thank you Franklin Park- we had the best weekend ever!
The Franklin Park conservatory was amazing,y beautiful. We chose the palm room for our wedding ceremony and reception. I got several compliments on how beautiful our venue was. The stairs leading down would make any bride feel like a princess coming to marry her prince. The floral greens and the lighting is exceptional. The wedding planner assigned to us did a outstanding job and made my wedding seem effortless. Elegant winter wedding!
If you are looking for a picturesque venue with Chihuly's glass art, rooms exploding with flowers and butterflies, then Franklin Park is the obvious answer. This historic venue preserves class with the Palm House, tradition with the Bride's garden and modern appeal with the Atrium, and each space smells fantastic too! We catered with FPC and so glad we had Diane shepard our decisions. Her response rate is incredible. However, I removed one star for the antiquated process of the amount of people and overly complicated process of sales rep to coordinator to planner. The game of telephone really ruined my changes at a few good event options and ultimately ended up in a miscommunication about A/V and so after being told I didn't need microphones, I did, and none of the ones they supplied us worked or had full battery. So, upon choosing this venue know you will have to dot your i's and cross your t's going into the planning process. Otherwise, net: a Fantastic, solid option and I have the very best photos of a wedding any bride could ever dream up!
We had both our ceremony and reception at the Wells Barn at Franklin Park Conservatory and it was magical! Everyone was so helpful during the planning process, and the day of went by so smoothly (shout out to Lauren in catering and our day of coordinator Angel :) ). We lucked out that the Wells Barn has AC because it was 90 degrees at the end of September for our wedding! Overall beautiful venue, amazing staff, and such a wonderful experience as a bride :)
Stunning venue (The Wells Barn and Community Garden Campus). However, I wouldn't recommend dealing with them unless you fall in love with the place like we did. Their time slots are awkward to say the least (no afternoon weddings), venue fees were rather pricey, and the day of coordinator that they are so proud of, did absolutely nothing noteworthy for us. Check out your other options first.
I highly recommend the Franklin Park Conservatory because their team is superb! They are very well organized and a joy to work with. I had complete confidence that my daughter and her husband's wedding reception would be executed well...and it was. The venue is gorgeous and the team is superb! Thank you, Carrie and Lauren!
We were recently married at Franklin Park at the Palm house and it was out of a storybook. I can't tell you how many guest commented on how it was the most beautiful space they had seen. The lighting at night makes it truly magical. The event staff was excellent, and our day of coordinator, Emily, was fantastic and super responsive by phone, or email.
Unfortunately, we chose a day in the fall that happened to be warm, but despite the heat, it went off with a hitch. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone who is planning the wedding of their dreams!
