Kate was referred to me through a local florist. I was hosting a graduation party for my husband, and needed help picking out food/drink, decor, flowers, etc. She was able to set up the venue perfectly and all of her decor suggestions came together beautifully. The flow of the party was seamless and I was really able to enjoy the planning process as well as the party. Kate has a ton of contacts and all of the vendors were fantastic. Her attention to detail is incredible. I would absolutely work with her again!

Kate was a dream to work with for our small ceremony and celebration. I have a seven month old and live out of town, so I really needed someone I could rely on for recommendations and planning/coordinating. Our wedding day went off without a single hiccup and the planning was about as stress free as I could imagine. She was able to get her recommended vendors to adjust their offerings to our smaller scenario. She more than paid for herself by saving me considerable time and money. I was referred to Kate by a friend who used her for a larger occasion. I highly recommend Kate and will go back to her for all of my event planning needs in New Orleans.

I can’t thank Kate enough for our amazing wedding! Being from out of state we relied heavily on her for her knowledge of local vendors and all things New Orleans. Kate is amazing. We talked to several wedding planners before her and ultimately we went with her because she is a great listener and felt like she was really in the same page with us from the jump. She worked with us to create a planning package in our budget that fit our needs. She was constantly working on stuff behind the scenes and I would say one of the coolest things at our actual wedding is that she was so on top of everything in terms of knowing what we needed, even before we did, but also being very subtle. I would highly recommend her to plan any event, wedding or otherwise

As the mother of the bride, I can say that Kate was an amazing wedding planner! I was very pleased with her professionalism, experience, guidance and communication during the whole process. Our daughter had 10 bridesmaids so communication with the bridal party and ALL the vendors was so helpful and lifted a huge week before and day of burden! Kate was a calm voice with guidance throughout! Easy 5 stars!

Kate was phenomenal from start to finish, she curated a package that was specific to our needs. We were out of town so she was especially helpful in keeping us updated and in the loop and she was so prompt with any questions or concerns we had. Our wedding went completely as planned thanks to all of her hard work. We are so grateful!

When planning a wedding in LA from the west coast I knew I needed to find a planner that could be honest and transparent with me about my choices. It was really important for us to have the wedding we wanted within our budget (of course that's the hardest part) . I hired Kate after our first phone call because I felt so comfortable with her so fast. She has a very easy going and calm nature which always put me at ease. While also being super knowlegeable about the city, the wedding industry and trends. Whether it was deciding on the best venue for our 45person cocktail partyreception or suggesting the musicians to play our ceremony music when I had decision fatigue, Kate was always there never making us feel like she was guiding us in the wrong direction. Leading up to the big day she always had an answer to any random question and kept everything super organized. It felt like I could let go those last few days and know that it was all going to be handled. And it was. We loved our day and felt so relieved that all of the loose ends were taken care of so we just showed up and partied with our friends. Kate was my first choice, the first vendor I spoke to and the first I booked and also the one I immediately spent my own $ on before my family contributed anything because I told everyone that she was a gift I'd get myself knowing I was doing future me a favor by having her as the captain of our team.

Kate is the absolute BEST!!! With wedding coordinators, you don't really know how much support you're going to get. With Kate, you get SO much!!! She has ridiculously fast email response time and was willing to answer and help with all of our (seems like a million) questions! Kate was also always willing to jump on a Zoom, phone call, or meet up in person for meetings or walk throughs. She knows, and has great relationships, with seemingly every wedding vendor in NOLA which is priceless when trying to find a good fit and having a smooth wedding day. We did not have to worry about a thing on our wedding day because Kate was on it!!! She made sure everything went as planned, dealt with family conflict, and made sure we always had a drink in our hand!!! I would give her a million stars if I could!!!

Kate is all knowing about authentic and cool New Orleans vendors and is calm cool and collected through the entire planning and execution! Highly recommend

Mother of the bride chiming in here. We were looking for someone who would listen to our needs and priorities, someone who would "get" a bride who is kind of minimalist. Kate Burke found us wonderful vendors to fit our budget, and helped us to "pare down" some of the extras that "add up." Honestly she was a dream to work with. During the wedding week, she kept this MOB calm and reassured. We couldn't have done it without her!

Kate from Gabrielle James Events was spectacular! We are from Wisconsin planning a destination wedding in the French Quarter. After our ceremony plans fell though, we were beyond lost. That was when Kate was recommended to us. Her knowledge of the area provided us with options we never would have known about, and her connections to other vendors helped us tremendously. Throughout every stage of our wedding planning process, Kate was there for us - we were planning from out of town, and her local knowledge of the city and vendors was invaluable. She was available anytime we needed her (which felt like a lot), and she was always happy to talk to us. She handled everything from vendor communication, to day of coordination, to helping us with the smallest of details that came up throughout the days leading up. Her calm demeanor and ability to stay on top of all of our personal details and deadlines was not only impressive but exactly what we needed. Kate was truly our best friend throughout the whole experience, we put our full trust in her and she made us feel great about our wedding every step of the way. We simply can’t recommend her enough!

Kate was my wedding planner and it was the best decision I ever made! She is extremely organized, professional, easy to work with, & thinks about the small details you may overlook. One thing that stands out in particular was the detailed and easy to follow schedule she put together that was shared with everyone from vendors, to the bridal party so everyone knew what was going on. I had many bridesmaids mention how awesome it was to know exactly what the plan was leading up to the event! I can't recommend her enough for an event!

I cannot recommend Kate enough. We hired her for a month of service because we enjoyed planning/organizing things at the outset. At the time we hired her, we were a little overwhelmed but I am not sure we realized how important having someone as professional as Kate would become in those final weeks leading up to the big day. Kate was crisis control--she handled all sorts of last minute failures from a bailing caterer to a flaky band to a resurgence of COVID with Omicron. Most issues that came up she didn't even fill us in on (so that we wouldn't stress)...or she rotated contacting myself or my partner to divide up the stressful last minute decision-making. I was most impressed by how Kate thought of details that I had totally overlooked (she even brought me a pair of flats to change into at the party). Also, she is very knowledgeable about New Orleans vendors and works well with everyone! Seriously, you will not regret using Gabrielle James Events! Thank you, Kate!

Kate was flat out incredible for helping us plan and coordinate everything for our wedding. She was on top of vendor communication for load in/load out, schedule creation for our party, making sure the video we wanted to show was set up and ready to play, and managing all of the vendor deliveries on the day of. She then went above and beyond in every single aspect for us with what seemed to be nonstop chaos with managing issues that came up last minute for our band (several issues throughout the month and week leading up to our wedding), the security company we hired that initially just didn’t show up to chase down a replacement as the event was starting, an ever-changing guest list because of Covid concerns, finding last minute catering because the original catering that fell through for our welcome party the night before our event, and even helped us to save some leftover cake so it wasn’t thrown away so we were able to have as little stress as possible leading up to our event and then able to enjoy everything with the trust and security that everything was properly managed. Beyond all of that, Kate is just an awesome person and great to be around. We couldn’t recommend her highly enough as a planner/coordinator. 6/5 stars and would happily hire her again for another event.

Would give more starts if I could!! Kate was so wonderful to work with and our wedding would not have been as amazing as it was without her. She went above and beyond to make sure every detail was exactly what we wanted. She was so helpful and supportive when we had to move wedding locations from New Orleans to the Northshore (due to covid) and made sure everything was communicated to all of the other vendors. Her experience in the hotel industry is a huge advantage and she is super knowledgeable about everything. So trustworthy and helpful throughout the entire process! Very thankful we had her!!

Kate from Gabrielle James Events was our hero on wedding day! We had Kate as our month of coordinator, and I only wish we had her plan the whole wedding. For us, Kate managed vendor communications and ensured that everything was organized and went smoothly. She also helped us make some design decisions as well, and she has a great eye. Leading up to the wedding, she was on top of everything and made us feel like we were in great hands and could relax a bit. My mom, who is extremely picky, immediately took to Kate and trusted her to make any decision. Kate’s familiarity with local vendors was extremely helpful, and it was immediately clear that we probably should have had her help from the beginning of the planning process. We got married at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Kate saved us. She used her contacts in New Orleans to closely monitor the situation and keep us informed, and she found us an amazing photographer when ours cancelled the night before. Honestly, I can’t express how crucial Kate was to our wedding. On top of being amazing at her job, Kate’s calming demeanor and honest opinions were invaluable. Book Gabrielle James Events, and have Kate do the entire wedding! If you do only do the month of, she’ll do great work for you, but you’ll wish you had her sooner.

Kate was so wonderful to work with. Her calming presence allowed me to enjoy my day totally relaxed. She is very organized, proactive and on top of everything. From sending out itineraries to fielding calls from everyone to dealing with little crises that pop up, she is a true professional. She helped me create the wedding of my dreams and we were able to enjoy every moment of our day. We are forever grateful.

Kate went above and beyond for my wedding. She was helpful to me every step of the way and did things I would've never known to do. She carefully reviewed all of my contracts and made sure things were exactly as they should be. She was so much fun to work with. She made sure I didn't have to worry about anything the week of my wedding. She came to my house at 7 am to make flower arrangements with flowers she got at Trader Joe's for my bridesmaid luncheon I hosted at my house. They were BEAUTIFUL! She's smart, creative, and hard-working. Highly recommend using her- don't make wedding planing any more stressful on yourself!
