Galt House Hotel

A beautiful venue and great service!! We had my daughters wedding at The Galt House on May 25, 2019. With any event but especially a wedding, you hope to wake up the morning after and say “that was exactly what I imagined “. We definitely did! The day after, Myself, the bride and the groom all were so happy with the entire wedding weekend. Caroline and her entire team executed every detail exactly the way we had planned. The Belvedere is a beautiful ceremony location. We also had cocktail hour on the Belvedere and it was such a relaxed vibe but elegant. Our reception was in The Waterford room and it was beautiful with the views, the layout of the tables, the flowers, the lighting , etc... I can’t say enough about the service. The servers were fantastic and our guests needs were taken care of before they could have time to ask. I, as the Mother of the Bride, had to do nothing. Caroline made sure everything was delivered to our rooms at the end of the night and had even delivered some of our food to the room since sometimes it’s hard to find time to eat with everything going on. Our guests had nothing but positive comments on the wedding and their rooms. The renovation going on is going to be awesome. Our rooms were completely renovated and I’m looking forward to seeing the end result when the hotel is complete. A magical evening!!

We chose the Rivue because of the beautiful venue, the view it offered and the convenience of having a hotel attached. In the year we had a contract with the Galt House we had three coordinators which was frustrating and unassuring. Our first coordinator Courtney was amazing, our second coordinator was stressful, and our third coordinator Brooke was amazing! I lived out of town and it became exhausting constantly scheduling time towards reexplaining my vision, going over what had previously been promised and hoping the same would hold true with the next person. The first tasting was a terrible experience as it tasted like my family and I were eating cold day old food and it was not what we had picked out (this occurred during the time of our second coordinator). I was unable to attend the "redo" as I lived out of town but my family said it was a 5 star tasting and that they didn't want to leave (this occurred when our third coordinator was in charge). After we got through the many months of frustration due to administration change everything came together because of one person, Brooke.. Brooke Valentine did an absolutely incredible job taking over and went 100% above and beyond to make sure our wedding was perfect and stress free. She had a lot to of questions to answer that previous administration did not get around to and she did it all in a timely fashion. She was extremely easy to talk to, very understanding and accommodating. She rein-stilled the confidence and trust that every bride needs in a coordinator. The reception and food turned out perfect! I am so thankful she took over and I will always recommend the Galt House as a wedding venue as long as Brooke is in charge!

The Galt House team did a great job in executing what was in the contract. The food was excellent in both rehearsal and reception dinner. The Rivue venue is gorgeous and everything went really well on their side in our special day! The only complaint I have is about the room block for the event. They suggested a number of rooms and we didn't know in that advance if it would be enough or not but their event coordinator on that time said they usually would be able to extend it for more rooms so we trusted her. When we got close to the event and wanted to add rooms to the block they did not have any available. That was a big disappointment and stress because we were counting on it for the family coming out of country and different states.

We had our reception on the 25th floor of the RIVUE tower (where the restaurant normally is) and it was absolutely perfect! I don't know where to begin to explain how amazing our experience was. The sales/service staff that helped in planning everything made me feel at east throughout the entire process. They handled our food, beverages, cake, decor and flowers. This made it so much easier for me so I didn't have to work with multiple vendors. The food we had was absolutely delicious! It was hard for us to narrow it down because everything we tried at the tasting was amazing. I loved that they had so many options to choose from though. Most of our guests came from out of town so it was great having a hotel large enough to accommodate a large block of rooms. The guests loved it too because of the convenience and affordable rates. We have received so many compliments on how perfect the reception was- from location, to decor, food, and the service from the staff. I would recommend the Galt House for any wedding or event!

The Galt House provided a beautiful location for our daughter's bridal luncheon. Many guests were from out of town and the location showcased Louisville and the beautiful Ohio River. The room was lovely and lunch filled the requests. The service was a little uneven in serving all the guests. The cost was high and that showed in the overall rating.

My husband and I got married on April 11, 2015. We had our reception at the Galt House Hotel in the Archibald Ballroom. Everything was perfect!! The staff made the planning so easy and the night of the reception was amazing!! Everything was set up beautiful and just how we wanted!! The catering staff was amazing!! I have gotten so many compliments on the food we had, which was the fajita stations, salad station and ham carving. People tell me the food was the best they have had at a wedding!! Everything was perfect and I cannot thank the Galt House staff enough!! If I had to recommend a place to a bride and groom this would be the place. They made it easy and perfect!!

The Galt House was the perfect place for our wedding and I would recommend it to anyone! The people I worked with were amazing and professional and prompt (thank you Tara and Courtney!). They made everything as easy as possible. The food was delicious. The view was beautiful. It is in a great location downtown for guests to explore, and the hotel is really nice. Another plus is we can go back and enjoy the restaurant to commemorate our anniversaries!

Our family hosted a Rehearsal Dinner on the 26th floor of the Galt Hotel. The occasion included a cocktail reception, seated four course dinner, video presentations and an after party for 100 people. Courtney Kifer and Ashley Dunn did a superior job with all arrangements. From intricate table design with flowers and memorable Louisville flower arrangements....all was first class. The food and food service was excellent. The video staff did a first class job as well. It was not just a "plain vanilla" occasion. The Galt staff presented the "LouisvilleTouches" with trememdous expertise and enthusiasm. It was truly a memorable night for all of our guests. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding reception. The staff was extremely accommodating. The wedding coordinator at the Galt House worked so hard to make everything perfect.

I had my wedding reception at the Galt House this past July (2015). Our reception was held in the Waterford room on one of the top floors and it had a stunning view of downtown Louisville. The Galt House's service was absolutely perfect. They enabled us to customize our wedding however we liked. The food was my favorite part. This wasn't your "average" wedding buffet food. The guests and I could tell that a lot of work went into the preparing of the food. It was very fresh. They also did our cake as well which turned out absolutely beautiful and just how I envisioned it. At the end of the night the staff delivered all the gifts down to my parents room allowing them to not have to stress about carrying them back at the end of the night. The Galt House was great because they did all of the set up and tear down which made it stress-free for my family. Overall I definitely recommend this venue. It was a dream for my husband and I!

Our daughter's wedding and reception were held at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville last June. Location, service, setup, and menu options were equally important in choosing a venue. The open rooftop was ideal and the hotel made for a fun place for photographs. Family and friends descended on the hotel for the weekend traveling from several states and Mexico. The wedding was a year in the making and the wedding planner team and hotel staff supported and guided us every step of the way. We are so pleased. The wedding was lovely and gave us new lifetime memories that we cherish.

Wedding Planner was wonderful. She had creative suggestions and knew exactly what I needed for the kind of party I wanted to have. The meeting room was perfect for our event and the service was outstanding. We received many compliments from our guests as well.

Where do I begin? I have always wanted my wedding at the Galt House Hotel. When I began on the planning stages my contact Courtney Kiefer - was so understanding and helpful through the whole process. Courtney understood what my vision was for my wedding reception and she made suggested to make it even more than I could ever hoped or imagine. And the best part about it all was she did it all within my budget! The staff at the Galt House Hotel did a great job as well. From the service to the food and drinks it was perfect! The staff also made sure that all my guests were taken care of. Still today guests were talking about my wedding day at the Galt House Hotel. Thank you again - it is a day I will remember forever.

I received a discount through my job for one of the hotel suites and so glad I went with this hotel. The room was beautiful and very clean. The staff were very friendly, especially our bellman. We only stayed one night which was our wedding night but if I could have I would have stayed all weekend!

Where to begin? We had a wonderful experience, from beginning to end. Courtney Kiefer was an excellent coordinator. She worked seamlessly with our outside vendors and had a "can do" attitude with everything we asked. The service was excellent and we received numerous compliments on the food and accommodations. There is literally nothing the Galt House could have done to improve on our wedding experience. My only regret is that we will only get married once. We may have to plan an anniversary party at the Galt House just so we can relive the experience.

I wanted an outdoor wedding but if I had wanted an indoor wedding this would've been the place to have it. It has an elegant feeling at this hotel

I just recently had my wedding reception at the Galt House and overall we are VERY satisfied with how everything went. It truly was our perfect wedding and reception. We chose to use the Archibald Cochran ballroom. The food was fabulous, the servers and bartenders were great to work with, efficient, gracious and never in the way. The main woman in charge of service consistently checked in with my mom to make sure things were going well and made her plates of food. They also updated her on the bar status and when our alcohol budget was running low. The room was absolutely beautiful once decorated and I greatly appreciate how much they set up for us. On my big day I wasn't scrambling to place menus in napkins :) and I love that I didn't have to worry. They really took care of everything. The only real "issues" I have, is that I feel there were missed opportunities to really wow us. Our honeymoon suite was a standard room with no special touches. No flowers, no note of best wishes, no vase for my bridal bouquet, and no champagne. A welcome kit or any of those items would have been very special. I had thought a box of our food would be awaiting us when we arrived in the room, but that wasn't provided and we were starved! They also at times seem to nickel-and-dime you. Only lap length white tablecloths are provided free, which is not appropriate for a formal event. I hate seeing table legs! And only certain colors of napkins provided. Just not a lot of wiggle room. Also would charge to pass out the cake and to provide guests with their welcome bags at check-in. Some things I just feel should be provided with such an expensive reception and lots of hotel rooms for guests booked. I would however use them again in a heartbeat. I have had friends and family tell us it was the best food they have had, the most beautiful and really the best wedding they have ever attended. Exactly what a bride wants to hear!

We had our rehearsal dinner at the Rivue on the top floor of the Galt House, as well as blocked our guests rooms there. We were able to block 50 at a time with no charge and given our own url to provide to guests to book the rooms at a discounted rates. The remaining rooms were released 30 days prior to the event. The rooms were not ready and the reservations were wrong for several guests. The service at Rivue was horrible, and their wedding coordinator Courtney Keiffer was highly unprofessional in her communication. We ordered a number of bottles of Tattinger and were given half bottles. We provided gift bags to be given to guests which were stolen by the staff (witnessed by my mother at the brunch we had there on Sunday). The food at the Magnolia Cafe is terrible. We spent on the up end of 15k on the Galt House for food and accommodations. Very displeased and will never dine or stay there again.

The staff at the Galt House did a wonderful job setting up the room, serving dinner, etc. They even decorated the cake plates which was a nice surprise.

We worked with special event coordinator Bethany Byars who was both accommodating and pleasant. We booked a room block of 30 rooms, all of which we occupied. After the hotel made an error and sold all single occupancy rooms, they upgraded our guest to suites while honoring our pee-negotiated rate. The rooms were clean, spacious and close to our venue. When checking out, the billing was hectic and took a over two weeks to resolve but we got a great value at a beautiful hotel. We also reserved a block of tables for Brunch at their rotating restaurant Rivue. The view was breathtaking and rotated the city and the food was talked about for days following.

The Galt House Hotel was absolutely amazing when handing my wedding, which was July 21st, 2012. The staff were excellent - very courteous and helpful. From the time the wedding party and myself checked in to our suites the day prior all the way up until my husband and I checked out to leave for our honeymoon, I was impressed! The reception was gorgeous! Everyone was stunned how beautiful everything was and how outstanding the staff were. The only negative thing said by the guests were that the main entrees were disappointing. For the price of the meals, the guests didn't care for them (they have others to choose from). Everything else was fantastic, I have no regrets and would recommend this venue in a hearbeat! Loved my wedding day!

We held our wedding reception in the Waterford room on the 25th floor of one of the tower. You have a beautiful view of the city from a beautiful hotel. Bethany, the wedding coordinator, was wonderful to work with. She was eager to please, professional, and helped put my mom at ease. We had a couple small issues with banquet captain, but overall everything went great. I would definitely recommend this place for a reception if it is in your budget.

We had our April 2012 wedding in the Waterford Room on the 25th floor of the Rivue Tower. The room is absolutely breathtaking with its entire modern dazzle! Our favorite feature of the room was the large windows that gave fantastic views if downtown Louisville (great for photos). We recommend this all inclusive vendor! The price is pretty hefty but considering all that is included, it cuts down stress because you have fewer vendors and they do everything for you! They have coordinators, banquet captains, servers etc … built into the price which makes everything so much easier for you. They worked everything out with me down to how the napkin would be folded. Food was fantastic and the menus are all very customizable, even if it’s something they don't offer, they will make it! We did signature drinks and they were a hit as well. The staff is fantastic and I could tell they wanted to make sure my event was exactly the way I wanted. We also received 2 free nights in a suite (may have been a special at the time); they very accommodating to us and our guests.

The hotel did a great job and was so closed to our reception.

We were very satisfied with our experience at the Galt House. They provided hotel rooms for our out of town guests as well as our honeymoon suite. We had out of town "Goodie Bags" for our guests that they gave out at the front desk without any difficulty. The rate they gave us was reasonable. The coordinator that we worked with even extended the reservation deadline for us when we realized several of our guests who intended to make reservations had not yet reserved a room by the deadline. Although one friend stated they were able to get a room at a cheaper rate than our block rooms, he had a special discount through his work. I was a little disappointed because they advertised that if you have your guests stay there, your honeymoon suite is free. Well we only had 15 guests reserve rooms which meant we got an upgrade only, rather than a free room because we needed to have 20 guest room nights. Other than that the Galt House was wonderful!

Everything was wonderful. We were very happy with the service. No problems whatsoever.

The food and service was amazing! It was on the 25th floor so you could see the city of Louisville for miles. I couldn't have dreamed of a more beautiful night.
