We got married here on 10/22, my husband and I thought a lot about this review before writing it. Because we understand Laura has a lot going on, but we paid over $6k for the venue, and it was not worth it. The venue is gorgeous and we can’t deny that.
First off, we met with Laura a month before the wedding she wrote down our decorations and vendors and said she would reach out to them. Our vendors never heard from her. At the rehearsal, she stated she lost the papers from the meeting and kept saying our wedding was on Monday, when in fact it was the very next day.
Secondly, the area where we dreamt about getting married was covered in fire ants. They crawled up my dress and I spent the entire night before my wedding and honeymoon in pain, they developed into blisters. Now I know they can’t control that, but I felt if you’re having an outside wedding venue, I assumed that would’ve been taken care of prior to our rehearsal. I was having to reach out the morning of the wedding to request they get taken care of.
Third, Laura stated when we signed contracts, and the meeting before the wedding that they would decorate. All I can say is, that wasn’t true. My husband spent most of the morning at the venue decorating, all they put up was tables, chairs, and the runners for the reception. Luckily the chairs for the ceremony had been set prior to his arrival that morning of our wedding. A majority of the decorations were set up by my husband and one of his brothers. It’s the day of the wedding, and it was supposed to be the happiest day of our lives and it was do to my husband and his brother and from the help Laura’s husband input in setting up the reception tables and such. On top of this my husband had to check where the ceremony would be and had to tell Laura’s husband there was still fire ant piles in that area. Her husband did manage to get the ants under control luckily prior to the ceremony. My husband had to throw in the towel and hope for the best mid afternoon because he still needed to go get ready for our wedding. Which he cut close since he spent a good part of the morning and afternoon setting and decorating for the reception.
Fourth, nothing was organized. She helped fluff my dress before I walked down the aisle, but that was it. My husband and I were supposed to have a private dinner to ourselves, because that’s what Laura said she would do for us, and we were having to call our groomsmen and family to bring us food. By the time it came, we only had a few mins before we had to enter for our reception. Also, apparently Laura was not feeling well leading up to the wedding and hired help, who honestly saved the wedding the best they could, but they could only do so much especially if the proper information wasn’t communicated to them. She never communicated to us that she hired help, so the day of, our vendors were calling me looking for Laura and she was nowhere in sight. I ended up leaving wedding items at the our house, because I couldn’t focus on anything. I couldn’t even get dressed immediately because I was putting out fires in the reception area. Even after the wedding, her husband was trying to claim some of our decorations were theirs. Thankfully my husband having decorated and set up a majority of the decorations himself with the help of his brother remembered which decorations were ours.
Lastly, we loved the scenic venue but we were disappointed overall with the experience and handling when it came to our wedding.
My husband and I were married at Garden Heights on 1/10/2021. Laura, Stephanie and the staff did a phenomenal job!! The chapel and reception hall are beautiful and priced reasonably. Everything went so smoothly on my special day!! Stephanie kept me informed the entire time and her customer service was incredible. I could not have been more pleased!! Thank you to Garden Heights for making my wedding day so special!!!
Stephanie was fantastic. She handled everything beautifully. We all appreciated her clarification of several misunderstandings and went up and beyond. It’s a beautiful place to hold a budget wedding.
This venue was amazing at accommodating everything for our wedding including changes to dates due to coronavirus and last minute increases to package inclusions. They took care of helping with decorations and cleanup and music. Beautiful country venue feel, perfect for our small but gorgeous wedding.
We had a great experience here even in the midst of a pandemic. Thank you to Laura and Stephanie for making our wedding amazing despite the crazy circumstances!
My daughter just got married here last week. It was perfect. The staff was really helpful. Laura was great to coordinate the wedding and rehearsal. During the reception, Stephanie took care of everything.
I guess if I had to ping them on anything, it is the amount of time we had to decorate the day before the wedding. Yes, the venue is decorated, but if a bride wants to add/change to what is provided, 2 hours is hardly enough time.
Also, the hanging panels in the front of the stage are nice, but need to be rehung on heavy gauge fishing wire or some thing transparent instead of the twine they are currently hung with. I guess if the shabby/chic look is what you want, then they are okay. We just swagged them with organza and it was gorgeous.
Also, if you're on a budget, ask about "half price Wednesday"!
Our son was married at Garden Heights. They did a wonderful job! All the staff was helpful and kind. They saw something that needed to be done and did it. Laura and Stephanie and the rest of the ladies were amazing! Laura ran the rehearsal and wedding day. Everything was so smooth and seamlessly. I would highly recommend having your wedding or event at Garden Heights!

We were recently married at Garden Heights and what a wonderful chapel and reception hall! The location in Garden Ridge (NE San Antonio) was perfect for us and Laura and her experienced team were fantastic to work with - they were very patient as we organized details and flexible with a few last minute changes. We had a rustic/garden theme with winter greens/white colors and the venue had several options for decorating that worked well. As much stress goes into planning a wedding, they helped us through the process and we were able to 100% enjoy our wedding day. As an added bonus, our guests let us know that they were continually charmed from the ceremony to the reception with little surprises as the wedding party ensued. Highly recommend!

We had our wedding at Garden Heights this past weekend and Laura and her team were a big help in making our dream wedding come true! From start to finish they worked as a team to make sure everything was perfect. They have the experience you want for such an important day. we had our semi semi destination wedding here and cannot say enough great things about the venue itself or laura. she was absolutely wonderful, she helped coordinate the rehearsal, had lots of ideas, and on the day of never made a move without checking with us if we were ready. she has a way of running her ship and it is smooth to say the least. Our Granddaughter's wedding was held at the Garden Heights Wedding Chapel. It was magical, everything was picture perfect. All of our family and guests thought this Chapel was the perfect setting for a wedding. I would highly recommend Garden Heights Wedding Chapel if you are planning a wedding.

My daughter and husband were married here in January. I only had a couple of months to put the entire wedding together as my new son-in-law is going into the military. Laura was extremely accommodating in helping me get everything lined up. The reception hall is very spacious with room for dancing and was beautifully decorated and although we did not utilize it, there is also a large outdoor deck for dancing as well. When I first saw the inside of the chapel, I just couldn't contain my emotions...it is absolutely lovely! And the fact that the location was easy for my guests to find and was only 20 minutes away from our house was a huge bonus too! Thanks to Laura and her staff, both the ceremony and reception went perfectly and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a beautiful wedding with a serene, country setting.
I would recommend the venue ONLY for the chapel NOT for the service. Chapel was not set up to decorate, A/C was not on for rehearsal, Unity candles were not pre-lit for ceremony, guest were not told to turn off phones as discussed, groom had to find Laura to help put on his boutonniere, private dinner was cold, staff vacuumed chapel while we had our private dinner, guest complained Laura took up their dinner plates before they were finished eating, paid for bartender but Laura was serving drinks, returned incidental damage check 26 days after wedding when contract states it will be returned in 2 weeks, Laura was asking to keep some of our decorations, Laura and a staff member took home our ferns that were supposed to be for family members
I can't think of enough superlatives to describe how wonderful Laura was in helping to guide us through all those little things we needed to know to make our wedding perfect. Our wedding was beautiful and the setting is wonderful.
I had my November wedding 11/3/18 at Garden Heights. Everything went off without a hitch. Laura, our coordinator was instrumental in organizing and guiding a well-planned night, which is what a slacker such as myself needed. :)

This was absolutely perfect for my wedding. Laura was awesome every step of the way and very accommodating. My ceremony went off perfect thanks to her help with coordinating exactly what I wanted and how I wanted.
Our most important and beautiful day could not have been anyplace more perfect than "Garden Heights Weddings and Events". The Charming little white Chapel is so romantic with chandeliers through out, simple elegance exudes it. Laura , the owner is a beautiful woman with great ideas and will help you if needed.

Excellent experience! My son and his bride had the Chapel package and we were all very pleased with Garden Heights. The chapel is intimate and pretty and perfect for a small country wedding. In addition to a great place, it was the attentiveness of the Garden Heights coordinator that made it such a good experience. She didn't just "rent" us a chapel, she took us through the whole process and made everything much less stressful. Very professional but casual in her approach as well. I didn't expect as much attention as she gave us, especially at the rehearsal and of course on the day of the wedding. I would highly recommend this location!
We fell in love with this venue the moment we saw it. My husband wanted a church/ chapel and I wanted a pretty outdoor setting that was inexpensive so this venue gave us everything. And it's so beautifully decorated on its own there is little extra that you need to do. Laura was so helpful from start to finish. I highly recommend this venue if you want a small/diy wedding with a country feel.
Garden heights is hands down the most beautiful, elegant, all in one easiest planning wedding venue there is! Laura and her staff are so attentive and really just very hands on for when you need them! My husband and I chose this venue because of location, price, and everything the package had to offer! This is a wonderful place to get married. Laura is fantastic and made everything so easy. The chapel is beautiful and was perfect for my wedding size of around 40 people. I did the traditional package so I didn't get the opportunity to use it, but there is a reception hall on site that is just as nice as the chapel. I would definitely recommend having your wedding at Garden Heights.
Laura at Garden Heights went above and beyond to ensure a perfect wedding for my honey and I. She was such a perfect Ceremony coordinator allowing the ceremony to go FLAWLESS! The day before our wedding she allowed us to setup and perform a run through with the bridal party. Throughout the entire wedding planning process she communicated with me promptly and professionally whenever questions came up. I am so glad I chose this venue and was so impressed by Laura.
If you're looking for a quaint, charming venue for your wedding, this is definitely the place to have it. I fell in love with this venue from the second I saw it and it was absolutely perfect! Our wedding was March 25, 2017 and in 3460 characters, it was AMAZING, STRESS FREE, and MEMORABLE. Laura, thank you for such a wonderful day. You cared from the first time we walked through your door through cake serving (which you graciously took upon yourself) and even after the dance was full underway. You asked me if you could buy chips for my guests in case they were wanting a snack but mostly to ensure my guest were safe from an open bar. You showed me how much you cared about our special day. Ladies and gentleman, this venue will not over charge you. In fact, you will save money--Garden Heights has wedding decorations you will love, you have linens underlays included, church pew decorations, a wonderful coordinator who will offer you ideas and direction the Entire Time, spacious parking, a list of great vendors. I honestly hit the jackpot when we found Garden Heights. We were worried we would have to spend $600+ for a dance floor on the beautiful deck and Laura took care of it by putting a sturdy dance floor and we didn't have to worry at all! We are still receiving compliments on how the wedding was just so beautiful with a beautiful chapel, beautiful indoor reception, and beautiful outdoor dance. Laura's instructions at rehearsal took the stress and nerves out of the wedding. Brides--I know how much goes into planning, but Laura will think of things you never thought to think of...she will take very good care of you. All in all, I wanted to write this review mostly as a Thank You to Laura for such a wonderful day, and a guide for any ladies who just haven't decided where to host their special day. You will not regret your decision with Garden Heights.
I can honestly say that my wedding went off without a hitch. Everything was as perfect as perfect can get! Laura was a great help in providing advice and insight as I was planning the wedding and on the wedding day, she was there with me the whole time, making sure I had eaten, and that my hair wasn't falling! It was absolutely superb. Small hiccups usually occur during weddings but I didn't even have one setback! I highly recommend Garden heights!

I was online searching for wedding venues. Garden Heights was one of the first 3 places that popped up. I had seen other places before. they were beautiful, but when I clicked on the Garden Heights website, I saw how convenient the location is. The Chapel, Terrace, and Hall, all in one location. I thought it to be so easy. But My then fiance were only looking for a small place to marry. After reading over all of the packages GH had to offer, I was hooked. However, my original choice was the Chapel package. Mind this was decision while looking online...I went to make an appointment. In due time, I received call from Laura for a tour of GH. The day came and I showed up. AMAZING is all I saw when I drove in. I fell in love with the quaint and charming scenery. I still had Chapel package in mind. Laura and sat and talked small details. But then she gave me a tour. We had met in the Hall, which is just so beautiful already. Simple and chic, but just as much lovely. Then we walked over to the Chapel. She asked to me wait outside while she prepared the final touches to the Chapel. She opened the door slightly, and invited me in. When I walked in, i knew i just wanted to have my ceremony in the Chapel. That was just the start. Laura went on to explain the little details, the more she talked the more eager I became to just book already. But my budget was on the line. After going over all of the packages, I could only tell Laura that I would have to get back with her about which package I wanted or rather "afford." To make that story short, we ended with the Dream package. Laura mentioned that she her staff would try to make the whole event stress free for the bride and groom. And they really did. Unfortunately, we didn't get to use the deck but only because it was a very warm day. None of us would have made it through the evening. A wedding in July, In Texas, Who would make it through a day so HOT?! With all that said, not everything went as planned. there were some changes here and there, during the rehearsal and even on the actual day. but we made it through the day. I am very simple person and really not an extravagant person. So as the evening went on i was only having a good time and happy that our families and closest friends were able to witness our union and celebrated with us. Everyone had such a wonderful time. Everyone loved how beautiful GH is. I t is the perfect set up. There were not many single people in the group but a few of my friends inquired about GH. One of my girlfriends made it a point to pick up some cards on the way for the evening.
Thank you Laura and Tamara for making my day stress free as much as possible. Your whole staff was wonderful and sweet, even the security guard. And they were all just so helpful and the end of the event.
There is so much I could detail about the venue, but you really have to see for yourself. It is just AMAZING!
We just got married on June 21,2016. We took a year to plan our wedding. Tamara and Laura were so helpful and accommodating! Talk about stress free! I've never planned a wedding b4 and didn't know where to start. Tamara gave me all the insight and advice I needed. She also got together with all of our vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page.the day of the wedding everything was more than any fairytale I could have imagine! The lady with my wedding cake was in a car accident on the way to our wedding with the cake! Tamara and Laura are so awesome at the last possible minute upon arrival they were able to fix my cake and provide a cake stand! Since our crystal stand shattered in the accident. They such a great job I didn't know anything had happened. Until the next day when family told us. To all of the staff at Garden Heights we love y'all and no one could have given us a better wedding! If you are looking an amazing beautiful venue with the best staff in the world, look no further you have found it!
My husband and I got married here on May 13th, 2016. We loved working with Laura and Tamara and their staff was so nice! The location is beautiful and is great for weddings that are 120 or less. They can have up to 150 but it would be a little cramped so it really is best for smaller weddings. We loved how considerate and easy going these wonderful ladies are and that they were willing to work with our schedule.
The caterer that they work with also was really good and flexible.
The venue is a little rustic but not too country that you feel obligated to have a "burlap and lace" themed wedding. It is quaint and tucked nicely behind some businesses so that you feel like you are one your own little field. If you get married in the spring the property has a ton of beautiful blue bonnets! I was able to see them at one of my appointments there.
Tamara and Laura will do all they can to make sure you are happy and not stressed the day of your wedding. They really made the venue part of planning so easy. They will make sure that you don't forget anything that is happening at the venue; and check to see how the rest of your planning is going too.
My only critiques are that there is not a place for the bridal party to get ready on the property, so you will have to book a hotel or get ready at home before heading over. Also, the bride's waiting room is much smaller than the groom's and has no direct A/C, it receives it's A/C from the main room through the top openings so maybe ask them if they have a box fan to put in there if you have a summer wedding.
Our wedding day was truly picture perfect at Garden Heights. I could not have dreamed of a better place to marry my husband than in that little white chapel!
Oh! I almost forgot, there are plenty of restaurants and hotels near by, just plan ahead because hwy 1604 traffic can get really bad.

Perfect is the perfect word for how wonderful our wedding was at Garden Heights. The venue is so beautiful! It could not be any more perfect for a wedding. The chapel is lovely and the staff is excellent- so prepared, friendly, and loving. They anticipate your every need and are on top of it before you ask. I love the fact that they "take all the stress out of the day, so you can just enjoy your wedding"... The reception hall is so lovely, and their prices are very reasonable! Thank you Laura and Tamara for the perfect wedding!!! We will treasure it always!
We had the most amazing wedding at Garden Heights. Laura saw that everything went smooth and easy. It is the most beautiful wedding venue I have been too. All our guests complemented us. Laura worked with all the venders before the wedding date and during the wedding. We all had the best time. And lots of fun. I would highly recommend this chapel. Especially if you want a wedding that is special. We will have nothing but good memories of our wedding day.
Tamara and Laura helped to provide a beautiful setting for a very special day for Karen and myself. First of all, the location, layout of the grounds, and the reception hall were quaint and picturesque. From the first meeting we felt relaxed and were able to discuss various ideas and options in planning our special day. They were easily accessible during the planning process. They heard what we wanted and were able to make wonderful suggestions on enhancing our vision.
The set-up and rehearsal time went very smoothly. They helped us create our vision in setting up the event center for the wedding. The were very accommodating in providing additional decorations that we did not plan on originally.
The center was ready for the decorating when we walked in and all went smoothly. On the day of the wedding - everything was ready on time. Tamara and Laura were keeping tabs on all aspects quietly in the background. They were helpful through the reception, cleaning up and straightening the food and guest tables. The bartender and security officer they provided were very courteous, polite and professional.
We would highly recommend Garden Heights Weddings & Events. They made our special day even more memorable!

I had the best experience ever. They went over and beyond to make the most perfect day. I did not feel rushed and they helped me when I had a female emergency right before I had to walk down the aisle. She was discreet and prepared when I was not. lol If I had to do it all over again, I would not change a thing. I had the best time of my life.
We had our wedding at Garden Heights and it was just wonderful. Our guests loved how quaint and charming the venue is. The chapel is just so sweet and the new patio was our dance floor. Minimal decor is needed cause it's already so beautiful. The venue has a lot to offer which keeps hiring vendors to a minimum also. And I can't say enough about the staff. Tamara, Monica, and Laura were excellent! Very accommodating and kept track of all the details that a bride just can't keep up with. They made my wedding experience so much easier and enjoyable. This was a great location and I couldn't have dreamed of another setting that would have topped this one. The functioning bell was just icing on the cake. The intimate feel, the older feel of the building, and the seclusion away from the city but without being a pain to get to. Surrounded by trees without the noise of traffic, a tucked away location with the feel of a movie in real life--everything about this place was better than I had ever expected. Stephanie was prompt, charming, and completely easy to talk with in every interaction. She put up with our detailed questioning without a pause and she did it all with a smile. She put me at easy instantly upon meeting her, and took away all worries once we made our choice (which was prompter than our usual, rational ways since we knew we didn't want this option to pass us by- by being booked by someone else!). I regret nothing with this choice and highly recommend this location!
The owner Stephanie was amazing to work with. She went above any expectations we could have had. She was helpful in every step from orginazing the vendors, handling a crisis on wedding day, to making sure every of the service and reception went of with out a hitch. We purchased one of her smaller packages (the Cake and Punch) but by no means where we treated that way. We were treated just as we had spent a million bucks. Garden Heights is the perfect scenic place a for nice country style wedding close to the city. And the owners just make it memoriable and easy experince!
If you are looking for a beautiful, simple and affordable place for your wedding then Garden Heights is the perfect place. Not only is the place beautiful but Stephanie (the owner) is a joy to work with. She explained everything and answered all my questions without hesitation and had great ideas for our wedding. She's flexible, easy going and very organized. We were originally going to have our wedding outdoors but it was blazing and had no problems with us moving it indoors the DAY BEFORE our wedding. Everything turned out perfect.
