It was a nice place but getting in contact with anyone was terrible. We called several times at different times and different days (during normal work hours) and it always went to voicemail. I finally emailed and got a response and set up to meet. I even specified the exact date and time to meet to avoid confusion, and the person still didn’t show up. A very nice woman at the front showed us around but unfortunately couldn’t answer questions. We wanted to like it on the price but hated the customer service, or lack there of.
Our wedding reception was at the Garden Terrace and we loved it. Pam helped us through the whole process of planning, making it so much less of a headache. It was nice to have everything (food, cake, bar, wedding coordinator) included in one price, at not that bad of a price compared to many other places. They use 2 Chefs for the catering and Central Continental for the cake: both delicious and great to work with! The set up of the room the day of went well and it was just like we had talked about. The Garden Terrace has many color options to choose from, as well as other accent items like head table lights, chair covers, etc. If the weather had been nicer, we would've used the little patio attached to the room. Great if you need some fresh air! A huge thanks to Pam and the Garden Terrace for making our day flawless and special!
My husband and I had a very small budget and this place allowed us to have a beautiful wedding on a budget. I was at first apprehensive because it is connected to the Park District facility but in the end it had more than I could have asked for. We got beautiful pictures outside by the fountain/gazebo, had a private facility to ourselves because it only has the one banquet room, the food (I did a station buffet) was delicious and we've had lot's of compliments, and finally the private terrace attached to it was just amazing for our summer wedding and used by our guests the entire reception. Of course there are some flaws to the venue, but to have a decent size wedding with everything we were able to afford still (decorations and extras), I wouldn't trade it and my guests had nothing but great things to say.
The place was beautiful. Tried to get in contact with the people numerous times and couldn't Very frustrating. All in all my wedding was nice and my husband and I really enjoyed ourselves
The place was beautiful. It's something different. I love how it has a patio connected to the hall. All my guest Loved it. They have beautiful places to take pictures and A Really nice Carousel for nice pictures also. I loved my Reception hall. It was a hassle trying to get in contact with them. Everytime i wanted to make a payment it was hard. But the place was beautiful and the Staff very Friendly.
The good and the bad. The reception and the ceremony turned out great, but, at times seemed disorganized. The wine didn't come out to the tables until we had the someone run and find the coordinator, who was hiding in the kitchen for the majority of the night. We ended up having to run to the kitchen to get a butcher knife b/c because nobody left a cake cutting knife out? Lastly, at the end of the night we realized we never got ice cream that was part of our menu. We brought it up to the coordinator who said it wasn't in the contract, which it was.
the venue itself is perfect for ceremony and reception. the service seemed off though which is unrelated to the beautiful location/venue. but maybe the lack in service from wait staff (there was a guy in jeans there the whole time, like they found him last minute b/c they were short handed or something??) b/c it was more affordable than triple in price.
i'd recommend this place to anyone though for a wedding.
My fiancee and I knew this was the place for us as soon as we walked in. The hall was small and intimate, the wedding coordinators there were AMAZING and walked us through every step, their caterer served top notch food, the facilities were clean, and the atmosphere and decorations on the night of the wedding was spectacular. We had around 120 guests, and with open beer/wine and appetizers for everyone, plus the buffet, we only spent around $7,000. We could not have asked for a more perfect place, for a GREAT value!
