We used the Chapel at Gaslight Manor Banquets for our ceremony, and it was an amazing location! Our reception was just a few minutes away at Abbey Farms, which worked out great. We worked with George throughout the planning process, and he was so great. He was very friendly and was extremely attentive and responsive for everything we needed. There was plenty of parking right outside the Chapel and the space was perfect for the size of our group. They also kept the Chapel nice and cool, which was very appreciated by everyone since it was just over 90 degrees on our wedding day.
My wife and I recently had our wedding at Gaslite in March, and we had such a wonderful experience. Amid the covid crisis that we're currently facing, George was so helpful on assisting us on planning the wedding we've always imagined it to be. He's very personable, and also flexible to work with. The coordinator that we had in the chapel also did a terrific job on the rehearsal, and also on the day of the wedding. She ensured that everything ran smooth according to what we had rehearsed the day before.
Their chapel, and reception area are really nice! The food also tasted great! If you're looking for a convenient place to book an event, I highly recommend Gaslite. They also have a large parking space too for your guest to park when they arrive
George is an amazing person, always was quick answering all my concerns and many questions, the venue was beautiful. It was a beautiful day!
We loved having our venue there. Gorge is awesome to work with! He's funny, accommodating and makes sure you have everything you need. Food was delicious and everyone had a wonderful time!
Gaslite Manor and Chapel gave us the dream wedding we were hoping for!!!! The chapel was beautiful and worked out perfectly. The food, drinks and staff were wonderful!!
From our first meeting with George to the wedding day - Gaslite Manor made the process easy, fun and beautiful!
My husband and I had but four months to plan our wedding because his family lives in Taiwan and their schedules are very hectic. The venues available to us on such a short time frame were small. We chose Gaslite because we could have our ceremony and reception on the same site and they were running a special that made our wedding more affordable. I wish I had spent the extra money because then maybe we would have had a better experience! Here are few of the problems we encountered:
1) Our event coordinator was awful. I hate to say that but no bride should ever feel like she is wasting the coordinator's time when she asks questions. The day of the rehearsal she did not even come out to greet us when we went to set up and she never spoke to me the day of the event.
2)The chapel coordinator rushed us through everything though she had wasted the first 15 minutes going through the wedding party (why couldn't we have done that ahead of time?!). The timing was wrong for my bridal party entrance and my keys got locked in the chapel overnight the night before the wedding.
3) We had the wrong colored napkins and the wrong drink for the head table (we wanted sparkling grape juice as my husband has an alcohol allergy and were given sparkling apply cider. A smaller concern but speaks to the complete lack of customer service.)
4) When they say wine service ends with dinner, they mean even the glasses you are drinking out of will be cleared. My aunt had a just poured glass that was almost immediately removed and she was told to go get another at the bar. When I returned to the head table all that was left were our empty flutes. No water, not a thing to drink.
5) The cake was set up in an entirely different area then we were told it would be so our DJ never knew to make the announcement about it.
6) We paid for 175 people and had 150 show up but never received any left overs. They claim it is because of their insurance policy but I feel that is something that ought be said ahead of the night. Additionally, we were given left over cake and my grandparents got to take their left over food home so I'm not buying the insurance policy thing.
7) They serve alcohol to minors. As a high school teacher I had several former students at my wedding who were underage. Every single one of them went to the bar, asked for a drink, and were served without being carded though Gaslite's policy is to card anyone under 35. From what I have heard, not a single person was carded.
8) The carts of dirty dishes were pushed straight through the middle of the dance floor.
9)We were pushed out the door at the end of the reception with next to no time to pack and gather our things. A box got left behind. In trying to retrieve the box, I called, emailed, was told I would be called back and never was. It took a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to get a call back.
10) When I addressed the owner with these complaints when I went to pick up the missing box, I was given excuses and promises to look into the matters and get back to me. Over three weeks later and I am still waiting.
We had a great wedding despite all of this. My overall impression is that they only cared about getting the money and once they had our deposit, it was downhill from there. My advice if you are looking at Gaslite is to keep looking. You'll be happier if you do.
We found Gaslite through a wedding magazine and decided to take a tour. We had toured about 15 other places previously and as soon as we got there, we knew it would be a perfect fit. George and his wife worked so hard to make our day everything we wanted it to be. We had our ceremony in their chapel on-site. This was so perfect, and by far my favorite part of the day! The reception was awesome! Every single one of our guests were blown away by the food, venue and staff. If for some reason I ever need a banquet hall again, I will totally go back. And I highly recommend this place, and I am super picky!
We used this chapel for our ceremony. It was a very lovely chapel that had decorations already there. The on site coordinator assited with the rehearsal and ceremony. Very accomodating and very quick to respond to questions. If you also reserve the reception venue you get a great discount. Add to it a Friday wedding, and we got a 75% discount!
Gaslite Manor was a great place to have our Valentine's Day wedding.
The wedding chapel is on the same property as the banquet halls.
Anna was the wedding coordinator at rehearsal and kept us on schedule for the wedding.
George was fun to work with. He was a pleasure to work with and make final decisions.
The bride room is a little small for getting ready but served it's purpose and was locked room to store various items during reception.
The banquet hall was just the right size for our small family/friends wedding.
Food was delicious (but unable to take left-overs with us)
Great location to take pictures as well.
We also loved that they offered discount for weekday wedding - 25% discount for Thurs night! :) Our total cost for 55 guests was about $3500 for chapel (free because it was a weekday), large selection of appetizer, tasty buffet dinner, 3-tier cake, table centerpieces, 4-hour open bar (mixed drink) and unlimited champagne for the wedding party.
Definitely recommend for couple planning on a budget!
We had our Sep 2012 wedding at Gaslight, the staff and George are wonderful. We had our ceremony at the Chapel on site and reception here. We loved having everything so close together. We received many compliments on the food and service and our guests loved the 5 hr open bar, not many places allow that. Overall we had a great time and have no complaints, we will definitely comeback if we ever have the need for banquet services again.
Everything was wonderful. We had our ceremony in the chapel which was beautiful. The food was good. Servers were great although I didn't like how they cleaned practically everything off the tables before the reception was over. I had to hide my napkin so they wouldn't take it.
George wad wonderful and very accommodating.
I had both my ceremony and reception at Gaslite. The owner was great and so easy to work with. They worked within our budget and helped us out where ever we needed. It seemed like they would bend over backwards to make sure we were happy. I loved this place and highly suggest having both ceremony and reception here.
Great venue and food!!
We loved having our reception at Gaslite Manor. They decorated inside with lights for a magical atmosphere and had a nice garden gazebo area outside for pictures. The staff was easy to work with and provided a lot of help. I especially liked the locked bridal room that was available to me. No complaints whatsoever!
everything was wonderful! I wouldn't have changed a thing
We couldn't have chosen a more beautiful place to have our wedding reception! The food was delicious and the environment was beautiful with the strands of lights above the dance floor. They were very easy to work with and had wonderful and affordable packages to choose from! The only downside is there could be 3 weddings taking place on one night in different rooms- with a shared bathroom! However, we still had a wonderful time & recommend to everyone!
My wife & I, married 01/07/2011, have nothing but praises for the Gaslite Manor Banquets staff. We had our reception at the Lincoln Inn, one of their 3 reception halls. We worked mainly with Chris & Kelly who both bent over backwards to ensure that everything was perfect.
The night of the wedding, I was happy to see that George, one of the owners, was there to help & oversee as well.
Our 200 guests had plenty of room in their Lincoln room, but our original number of 300 would have comfortably fit as well.
We chose an unconventional dinner (Buffet style Greek cuisine) which was unbelievably good. 6 weeks later, we are STILL getting complements on it! & the price/head was very reasonable especially since it included full premier Bar & the wedding cake.
All in all, the ratings that I give on the Lincoln Inn and it's staff are in no way exaggerated. If of the staff that contributed to the wedding are reading this review, Thank you!
Jon & Kiki
I loved the way it looked. We didn't even need to buy anything to decorate it with. Also the staff was fantastic. They were very accommodating.
