Gathering Oaks Retreat is an enchanting destination wedding venue located south of Dallas in Waco, TX. You can celebrate your entire wedding weekend in this beautiful expanse, immersed in the lush greenery of the surrounding nature while inviting your guests to enjoy the weekend and stay on-site in our beautiful suites. This outdoor venue spread over 30 acres of sprawling land is complete with an elegant white pavilion, romantic string lighting, courtyard games, firepits, and a pool/hot tub, there is ample space for all of your guests to relax and take in the beauty that this venue has to offer. To ensure your event is private, you are required to rent out all lodging accommodations to sleep up to 50 guests onsite.
The Gathering House at Gathering Oaks Retreat has a capacity for up to 75 people seated, while the outdoor areas can accommodate up to 200 guests. A get-ready-suite and dressing room allows you and your bridesmaids to prepare for the day in style, with somewhere to freshen up throughout the day and rest your head at the end of the day. Tents of up to 40x80 ft can be set up to provide shelter from the elements while still enjoying the breathtaking views of verdant land. Up to 50 guests are invited to stay in the 19 modern-rustic overnight accommodations on the property, allowing you to enjoy extra time with your nearest and dearest. The entire property must be rented out to host an event on-site. Lodging accommodations for up to 50 guests are required and included in our weekend wedding packages.
You and your partner are invited to two onsite planning meetings with the team to finalize the details of your day. Avail of outside vendors of your choice to decorate, bartend, cater, and entertain at your wedding, with recommendations from the venue team if needed. Tables and chairs are provided by the venue for up to 100 guests with furniture for larger gatherings available from local vendors. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. The property is so well maintained, and the scenery created the most perfect backdrop for our wedding day. Every corner of the venue is stunning, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous everything was.

redibly grateful I did. This beautiful venue has so much to offer, it’s very modern and updated, and clean and beautiful. My guests were in awe at the space and beauty. The property manager, Rebekah, was so wonderful to work with throughout the entire experience, especially with me being a bride from out of state. She even helped my wedding planner set up day of. I could not have asked for a better weekend with all my friends and family.
If you’re looking for a beautiful venue for a small, intimate wedding, this is the place to do it. There are plenty of games and space to entertain guests, dogs can roam freely, and all guests will have their own private areas to stay.
Thank you to the owners of this property for creating and designing such a unique and unbelievable venue. This was a once in a lifetime experience- to have my dogs and people stay a whole weekend to celebrate our love- and I’m forever grateful!

There are not enough words to describe how amazing this place is from the comfort and beautifully designed rooms, access to pool/hot tub and outdoor games (tennis court, putt-putt, pickle ball + more), to the breath taking views of the property, and access to walking paths, our families truly fell in love as soon as they stepped foot on property. We cannot thank Rebekah enough for all of her help throughout this process. She answered any questions we had and she is so easy to communicate with and get in touch with throughout the entire process. To the owners Brandon + Lacy for opening their beautiful grounds to our family and grounds keeper, Randall who helped keep the property in perfect condition and assisted with set up on wedding day...There is truly not enough praise for how thankful we are for all the help, everything exceeded our expectations. We are blessed to have had the opportunity to host our wedding weekend here. It was BEYOND perfect. Family members who are yet to married wish to have their wedding here as well. Every single person who attended still talks about this weekend and we all wish it could have lasted forever. A true FAIRYTALE venue. Thank you endlessly. We were able to have 40+ guests stay with us and treat it like home for the weekend which is exactly what we wanted. The rooms are super comfortable and there is plenty of room in the common areas to do DIY meals for small groups or have a traditionally catered wedding. We did both for different meals during our weekend stay.
Lacy and Rebekah were super easy to work with and were always quick to respond to questions or schedule visits. Rebekah was also able to spend some time at our wedding and she is so fun, she blended right in with our guests and we loved having her!
I wish that I could give this place more than 5 stars. We had our wedding here the weekend of 10/8 and it was absolutely perfect.

athering Oaks in our area. All of our friends and family asked us "Why Waco??" and it was strictly because of how much we love this venue.
After touring a couple venues in our area, we realized that we didn't want our "Day" to be over so fast. We wanted a place where all our friends/family could stay the night and still "be together" after the reception ended without having to figure out logistics back to a hotel, etc.
There are so many options on the property where you can choose to have your ceremony, dinner, reception. We had our ceremony/cocktail hour in the Courtyard area, and our reception under a tent near the wooded area. It was such a great choice because once dancing started, the "older" crowd would migrate to campfire area away from the music. I loved walking around and seeing groups of people enjoying the entire property.
The staff is soooo accommodating and responsive. Rebekah helped answer all my questions and went above & beyond to assist and accommodate all of our needs. A huge shout out to her!
We got so many compliments on the venue. It's decorated so tastefully and the amenities are endless. They are constantly making improvements, as well. We were able to add on an additional cabin to give our guest's more privacy.
We did not have one issue the entirely of our stay, and I cannot recommend this venue more to any brides who are looking for a "destination wedding" vibe without having to get on a plane or leave the country.

We loved being able to have our ceremony, reception, and wedding pictures all in one place, and the option for our out-of-town friends and family to stay onsite in the Gathering House and the cottages provided ease with logistics and allowed us more quality time with our loved ones. The Gathering Oaks team was absolutely wonderful to work with- responsive, helpful, solution-oriented, and genuinely kind. Great option for a get away wedding tucked away in the country with a pool, hot tub, and some beautiful views.
If looking to have a wedding on their tennis court and wanting a band, be aware there is not enough electricity to support a full band, and lightning. We had to rent a generator to support full band. We also had to rent port-o-potty due to our guest number and septic tank considerations.
