I booked Genesis catering for my wedding. OMG! The food was absolutely wonderful! I was surprised because I’ve had some terrible wedding food but they did suck a great job! I definitely recommend them for any event you may have!

Matt and Megan were very accommodating when it came to planning our wedding at Genesis. We were impressed with the care Matt took into making sure our guests received their drinks in a timely manner before the wedding party was announced. I highly recommend Genesis for your wedding venue!

Now that our wedding is over, I'm going to miss checking in with Matt and Megan. They are the absolute best. Very friendly, very accommodating and very personable. At no point in time did we ever feel like we had a dumb question or too many questions. We look forward to keeping in touch and will look to have future events with Genesis. The food was amazing - we received so many compliments on how tasty the food was!

The best catering company we could have found for our wedding!! The food was delicious, the open bar was fantastic, and the staff was very professional and kind. In addition to this, Megan responded to a last minute change we had to make due to weather circumstances. Thank you so much, everything was excellent!

We had to change out daughters wedding last minute due to Covid. We moved it outdoors and had Genesis cater it and do the bar! To say it turned out wonderful would be an understatement. Megan was so helpful and informative through the whole process. Everyone from the food servers to the bartenders were so professional. I received so many compliments on how great the food tasted. I would highly recommend Genesis.

My husband and I are so glad that we had our wedding reception at Genesis! They went above and beyond to accommodate our very large reception so close to Christmas! Communication was great and we really liked that they were very professional but also down-to-earth. We appreciated all of the experience that they brought to our meetings and the suggestions that they gave us. They were very flexible and open to all of our ideas. Our guests all had an amazing time and LOVED the food. The night went so smoothly and we are grateful to all of the work they did to make it one that we will always remember!

The staff at the Genesis Banquet Hall were very polite and professional at their jobs. The head organizer made sure to stick to an agreed timeline and was very personable and organized!! We had an amazing time and would recommend this vendor for other couples!

They were very friendly, helpful, and flexible throughout the process - especially the day of! An awesome perk (especially compared to other vendors) is that the four hour time slot does not include clean up time; you are permitted to clean after the end time. This was fabulous! The food was also exquisite! My only issues were that the sound system was at maximum volume and was no where near as loud as we would have liked, and they were pretty strict at the bar - which was not the original impression I was given. This shifted to party atmosphere to decently low energy compared to what we had expected.

From our first introduction to even now as I asked where they wanted me to leave a review, Genesis was the best. The customer service was superb. The food was amazing. The cost was even better. I felt confident and at peace knowing everything was going to be taken care of with excellence. My husband and I would both recommend Genesis without any reservation to everyone for any type of party. We can't speak highly enough of their staff and service. Brides-to-be: Do yourself a favor, and go reserve with Genesis now. You can't find a better deal and you certainly can't find better service. Wishing you all the best in this season of engagement! My husband and I absolutely loved Genesis Catering! The venue was beautiful (we loved the lights), and we loved the fact that we could bundle with the DJ and the cake--it made life a lot easier. Everything flowed so smoothly, and we received so many compliments about the food! We highly recommend this place!

We were thoroughly pleased with Genesis! The pricing is great and we got so many compliments on the food. All of our guests had so much fun. I loved that they set everything up for you so it is one less stress you have to worry about. We had a couple odd requests (i.e. having the Blues game on the TV's) that they found a way to accomplish and make happen for us. I would recommend them to anyone!

Genesis did an amazing job for our wedding reception! All the decorations were placed just the way we wanted them and the food was amazing! The staff was very helpful and polite. Would definitely recommend this venue!

We had a very good experience with Genesis. Their food tastes amazing, plate pricing is very reasonable, and the staff was great. They also worked well with our dessert and DJ vendors. We would just suggest being very cautious with your minimum. Some places do a minimum $ amount, so you can opt for some upgrades to meet the minimum dollar amount if your guest count is under than what you expected. Genesis operates on a minimum guest count. We ended up being under on our guest count, so we had to pay for plates for guests we knew could not attend, and we were not able to distribute those funds to any upgrades. Also, you have to have all decorations out at the end of the event. We wish they had a storage room so the items could be picked up the next day. Other than that, we really enjoyed the event and the reception was a lot fun.

Amazing! I cannot thank Genesis enough for their hard work and kind staff. Each and every one was so very helpful, nice and courteous. It was perfect, food was outstanding and I did not have to worry about one thing but enjoying my day as the bride!

Matt & Megan were both a pleasure to work with in planning our wedding reception. Everything was so beautiful and elegant, and we received several compliments on the menu options. Matt was very accommodating of our requests, and Megan came in early the day of our wedding to decorate. We were so happy we had chosen Genesis for our 9/29/18 wedding day. Megan and Matt were so great to work with! We loved Genesis! They were even helpful when we wanted to rearrange the room and bring in our own dance floor. They were so accommodating with helping us set up for our event. The food was unbelievable! All our guests were so pleased! We had 300 people at our wedding and it was plenty of space! Even better, they are so reasonably priced. Weddings are expensive but Genesis also didn’t have any hidden fees or ridiculous charges. They were very upfront with the pricing. Megan let us come in and look at the venue any time we needed too and was very polite and friendly! I’d highly recommend this wonderful venue!

Megan and Matt truly were the most amazing people to work with! From day one they answered all my emails and phone calls! They also set up my entire reception and it was breathtakingly beautiful! They went above and beyond to make my day perfect!

Words cannot even begin to express how happy my husband and I are that we chose to have our reception at Genesis. Genesis and their employees were so helpful from start (the initial venue tour) to finish (cleaning up the decorations at the end of the night). They are an incredible value in terms of cost per guest. Yet even though they are "cheaper," they don't skimp on quality. The food was delicious and I received many compliments on it. The decorations were set up exactly as I had shown them, and they looked so beautiful! Megan was so amazing to work with. She was there to answer all my questions throughout the whole process, she would let me come up to try out my table decorations months before, she was there to give her advice when asked, and she never got frustrated when I called and changed my mind on a few things. I would recommend Genesis to everyone I know looking for a great venue!

Genesis was the second reception venue we looked at. We booked an October reception. It was an easy decision to book here. Megan & Matt we’re so easy to work with & communicate with. Genesis Banquet Hall is also a one stop if you’re looking to book a DJ, photo booth & cake place also. We used their contracted DJ who also runs the photo booth. He was great & very professional. Highly recommend this venue!

Genesis was the first place my husband and I looked at when searching for wedding venues. We kept coming back to this place. They were absolutely wonderful! Every step of the way they were so patient with my questions and gave suggestions when I needed them. I trusted them completely and they came through with every detail! I dropped everything off the day before and it was set up exactly like I wanted! Everyone also raved about the food, we had apricot chicken, beef, vegetables, white pasta, potatoes and salad. We also used their Dj service and got our cake through wedding wonderland and used their photo booth! Everything was great and ran so smooth the whole night! I seriously have zero complaints and will continue to recommend!!!

Genesis and the Moolah made our wedding and reception more than fantastic. Chad was there all through the planning process to answer any questions. Having a one stop wedding and reception venue was great. The gazebo was beautiful and there was plenty of shade for an outdoor evening wedding. The ballroom was beautifully set up with the chair covers and ribbons to match my colors. The food was delicious. My wedding day was worry-free and perfect. I would recommend Genesis and the Moolah as the perfect combination for any wedding or event.

I had my wedding at Genesis in November and it was beautiful. The food was on point, the venue was recently updated with lovely neutral colors, and the staff was friendly. Genesis is the best bang for your buck! I was working in a tight budget and didn't think I could afford a banquet center but was able to. 10/10 highly recommend!

We had a great experience at Genesis Banquet Center! We had plenty of space using both rooms to host our wedding reception of about 150 people. We were glad we used both rooms to make it not feel crowded. The food was quite decent for the price; many people gave compliments on it. The staff were so great to work with and incredibly generous, flexible and helpful. The price simply cannot be beat compared to other places we looked in the area. While it was not the most luxurious or unique location, our guests had a wonderful time, we ate well and there was very little stress in the planning of it. The staff even did a lot of the set up and decoration since most of our guests were at the wedding ceremony. It was also particularly beautiful to have had the Christmas decorations out as that really added to the atmosphere! Our only small complaint was that they moved the evening along so quickly and efficiently (which was great) that people may not have had time to get seconds of the buffet or realized that there was even a bar to get drinks from. We greatly appreciated Genesis and would highly recommend it to others!

We had our wedding reception at the telegraph location on 9/17/17. It was amazing. Leading up to the wedding day they were great with answering any questions I had promptly. The day of I didn't have to worry about a thing. We dropped off all decorations the day before and it was taken care of. The food is SO good! Our guests raved about how good it was. Throughout the reception I was asked how things were going or if we needed anything, but they were on the ball so nothing needed to be requested! We went with the lighting they provide and it was beautiful. The day after I came to pick up my decorations all packed up. Thank you to Genesis staff for being extremely pleasant throughout this whole experience and the night of our reception. All smiles. I definitely recommend them!!! You won't have to worry about a thing I promise!

We had our wedding and reception at Genesis in September and it was wonderful. The venue, food, cake and DJ were great. Matt, the owner, as well as the entire staff were very helpful and handled everything is a professional manner. I would recommend Genesis to anyone looking for a wedding/reception/party venue.

I couldn’t say any nicer things about Genesis Catering.It was the icing on top of the cake to such a beautiful day for us. I had my wedding reception September 29th, 2017 at the Telegraph location. Dinner was amazing, the bar service was amazing and so were the employees. They make it so easy to plan your wedding with options for invitations, your wedding cake, DJ, Photobooth, and really anything you want. You can tell they really love their jobs because they do such an incredible job. Everything leading up to the reception was so easy. Everyone whom worked at Genesis was so easy to talk to and answered any questions that I had. They helped set up put tables and offered any help they could. We had a lot of people and wanted the reception to be spacious and the venue was perfect.The reception was so affordable and was at the highest quality service. If I ever have any big events again, I would absolutely use Genesis Catering again!! So thankful for them!!

We had our reception here and I'm so glad we went with Genesis! It was an hour drive for us but so worth it. Matt and Megan were awesome to work with and really let us know that they were there to make it easy for us, which they did. Matt's wife was awesome when I brought the decorations and said I trusted her to make it look good and I was blown away when I got there at how pretty everything was. We had a great experience, food was awesome, and we would recommend them to anyone!

This review is going up a little late since we had SOOO many things after the wedding. We had our wedding at Genesis last year in April and I am still swooning over how amazing it was!! A year later and we still talk about how great Matt and Megan were and how our reception was amazing!! Everything was great, from the food to all the staff. Matt was so accommodating since I wanted to bring in my own linens, desserts, fresh flowers and so much more! He worked with me daily to ensure everything went smoothly. Being a bride on a budget this place was a heaven sent. I cannot thank the team at Genesis enough for making our wedding reception spectacular! They really do a great job taking care of the bride and groom. I would 1000000% recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Highly recommended! Genesis was very easy to work with and did an awesome job throughout the whole planning process. They took care of all the details on the night of our reception so that we could enjoy our night. Very affordable and professional.

Very friendly people to work who really went out of the way for you! Also VERY affordable. Everything was perfect! The food was delicious, their in-house DJ was great, and everything ran very smoothly. Megan also did phenomenal decorating for us (we dropped everything off the day before). The only thing I would have changed is getting to pick which dishes we wanted to try beforehand so we could have made sure to pick the best dishes (the tasting is standard). Highly recommend!

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! My wife and I enjoyed our wedding reception here in November. We had a wonderful experience and so did our guests. Food was top notch and the space was just right. The owners really made us feel welcome and took care of a lot of details so we could just enjoy the evening. The only "bad" thing I would say - and this is,in no way a deal breaker, the bar is located on the dance floor (practically) and it can be a little bit tricky to try and manouever around dancers. As I said - not a deal breaker. Great venue and even better price tag. THANKS!

Where do I begin? Genesis catering was the Perfect choice! Chad was Absolutely wonderful to work with, very accommodating and always answered all of our questions. The price, the food, the service...it doesn't get any better than Genesis!! My husband and I were married on November 5th, 2016 and had our reception at the Moohlah Shriners Oasis Ballroom. We are so thankful to have been introduced to Genesis Catering, especially after our unsuccessful search! Everyone is still talking about how wonderful the food was, and we are so grateful to Genesis for that! Thank you so much for being reasonably priced and so easy to work with!! I have to day that I am sooo happy that we decided to have our reception at Genesis Banquet Center off Telegraph. Matt and Megan were AMAZING to work with. It looked beautiful, the food was amazing, and it was a completely stress free day for me. The staff had everything under control! Many of our guests said that it was the best time and everything was great! I would recommend that anyone and everyone I know use Genesis for any special occasion!!

We looked at a lot of wedding reception venues before we decided on Genesis. It wasn't the exact look we were going for but once we met with Matt, the owner, we were sold. He was so energetic and helpful and appeared to be equally as excited about our big day as we were. His team there was also very helpful, Sharon and especially Megan. Megan was a total dream to work with. Because they had an event the night before our wedding we couldn't get in to decorate ourselves so with a lose description and some vague pictures Megan put it all together and it looked better than I could have imagined. The food was wonderful (we got so many compliments) we had the roast beef and apricot chicken as our meat options, then loaded mashed potatoes, a pasta dish (I can't recall the name of) and sauteed vegetables with Greek salads...all delicious! The also have built in uplighting and a tv screen for presentations which worked out well displaying our wedding colors and photos of my and my husband throughout the years at the reception. The only thing that I wasn't truly in love with here was their house DJ. You can bring in your own, that's allowed but we went with their recommendation because they were right on everything else. He wasn't horrible but he didn't live up to the rest of the night. Genesis made our night special and worked with us on every single request and want we had. Best service around!

I can not tell you how happy I am. My daughter's wedding was on Saturday October 22. The venue was the Moolah Ballroom and Genesis was the catering company. OMG the food was great, people could not stop commenting on how good it was. They are such professionals. They worked with my daughter so well. Can not say enough. :)

We loved having our reception at Genesis. The staff was so friendly through the whole process of planning and during our reception. All of our guests loved the food and are still telling us about it. Our bartender was very friendly. We did not need to worry about anything the whole night! Having them do the cleaning and setup was a huge help. My only criticism is that it was impossible for us to do a food tasting before the wedding. They only do tastings once a month and it costs $10+ per person to try the food. We could not find a day that worked in our schedules at all. We just picked what sounded good from the menu, but our guests loved it anyway. Overall, I highly recommend Genesis to anyone looking for a easy, affordable venue with great service.

We absolutely loved having our wedding reception at Genesis. From our first tour to the actual night, the staff was constantly checking on us to make sure things were going the way we wanted them to. Megan helped us with design ideas and was very accommodating when we needed to set up our decorations. The lighting Genesis has to offer was one of my favorite attributes, because we could easily customize the room to fit our wedding colors. We got lots of compliments on the yummy food as well! I remember going through the process of asking venues and caters for quotes for our wedding. One after another we kept getting figures that made you ask yourself, "how does anyone afford to get married?". Our wedding had upwards of 225 people attending so, we had to find somewhere we could afford and also give our guests a nice area to celebrate with us. We came across the Moolah Shriner Center in Creve Coeur, who uses Genesis for catering. Were we ever grateful we found them. The people at the Shriner Center and Genisus were very easy to work with and answered all questions that we had. We were also given suggestions for preferred Wedding Cake bakery (Wedding Wonderland) and DJ (John Hoffman), which made some of the other items in wedding planning easier. Our food items we picked had a mixture of both the Classic and Deluxe buffet items. The food was excellent. Mashed potatoes and gravy, glazed carrots, Pork Tenderloin, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Mostaccioli (St. Louis tradition) and the beginnings of bread and salad. We also had a open bar and the selection was pretty much anything you can find here in St. Louis. We stuck to the basics but the beer selection was great. It also came with mixed drinks. Over all, the price and overall experience was everything that simple folks like myself could ever want. Great food, great service, great venue, and a great night for our wedding.

My husband and I had our reception at Genesis in July 2016. They took care of everything and answered all our questions. They helped a lot and were flexible with the decorations that we wanted. They were very clear with prices as well. The food was great and we loved the huge dance floor. Everyone that came to our wedding kept telling us how fun it was! I highly recommend them!

I could write a novel of glowing reviews for Genesis. Both my husband and I are beyond pleased with the job they did for our wedding reception. I stumbled upon Genesis thanks to the Knot and am so grateful I did. It offered everything we needed and wanted! When we began searching for venues, we had our work cut out for us! We had well over 300 guests, I didn’t want to share my reception with another wedding or with the public, AND they had to have excellent food! In my opinion, for the price you pay for a reception, the food had better be worth it; I’ve been to receptions that cost nearly $100/plate and the food was awful and guests don’t forget that! It seriously became mission impossible to find the perfect venue for us…until we came across Genesis! It was perfect! We were quite pleased with the price, the staff are beyond AMAZING and the food is honestly some of the best food I’ve had in my life, let alone at a wedding reception! The venue had plenty of space for us and our guests! Megan was truly a God-send! I swear we must have exchanged several hundred, if not thousands, of emails/phone calls, etc. and she was always eager to help in whatever way she could and answered ALL of my questions! I think she even became my wedding coordinator at times. I mentioned something about our ceremony while we were in a meeting and she didn’t hesitate to give me advice, which she absolutely didn’t have to do but was definitely a helpful bonus for us! She is the all-time perfect coordinator to have, especially if you’re a Type-A perfectionist like me! She made everything so easy for us! We are way more than appreciative and grateful for her! Matt was very helpful the day-off, too! My mom started trying to clean and tear down towards the end of the night and he insisted that he and his staff do it so we could enjoy the rest of the night! Seriously, the only venue I know of that would let you do that! I cannot even begin to describe how delicious the food was! Our tasting made it impossible to decide on the menu because everything was so good. We selected a few options that we didn’t even taste beforehand and I honestly wouldn’t have changed a thing! My husband is a very picky eater and he loved it all, which speaks volumes for how good their food is! We still get comments from our guests about how good the food was and our wedding was over 3 months ago! My little brother (another picky eater) still dreams of their top choice round of beef and I still crave their cheesy potatoes at times, so we will definitely be returning customers!

Chad, Megan, and the whole Genesis catering team were fantastic throughout the whole wedding planning process. They were always quick with responses whenever questions would arise.  Most importantly, they were extremely flexible and did things that other caterers would have charged us a lot extra for. They made things run very smoothly the day of as Chad was there the whole night adjusting the time of the buffet after we arrived late and letting us keep our decorations at the hall for an extra week while we were on our honeymoon. I would definitely recommend Genesis for all of your catering needs.

I used Genesis for my wedding reception on June 11. I grew up in St. Louis but I now live in KS and have for the past 6 years. So I was having a lot of worry and anxiety from planning a wedding from a state away and being rusty on potential locations and vendors in the area. Thanks to a suggestion from a friend, I came upon genesis. I had the absolute greatest ease planning with them! They are so friendly! They are so kind and flexible when it comes to scheduling. They are so great to communicate with! And they do A LOT of things that you wouldn't think of! Megan and Matt were life savers for us during the planning process. The food was amazing. And the pricing is SO affordable! I am very pleased with my experience with Genesis!
