ple tasting and multiple last minute changes, but Lindsay and Diana were so accommodating and on top of it. Genesis Delight is all inclusive! Meaning we didn’t have to deal with rentals or dealing with staffing a full bar. Day of was prefect! Everyone raved about the food all night! The staff were so kind and joyful and attentive! The bar staff remembered our drinks and always had a smile on their face. My guests kept talking about how wonderful they were treated all night long! We could truly not ask for a better caterer! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

at’s not bad enough, here’s a list of everything else we contracted that they failed to deliver. - [ ] they arrived an hour late to site delaying everyone else waiting to set up. Finished drying up as I was walking down the aisle and my guests already arrived - [ ] Did not put out enough ceremony chairs so my family had to 10 min before I walked down aisle - [ ] Did not pre-fill welcome drink station and had no attendant handing/filling out - [ ] Do not bring the ONE special (vegan) meal we ordered which was for me. I could only eat mashed potatoes at my own wedding - [ ] Put nuts on the salad of maid of honor with deadly allergy- only guest with allergy we altered them of - [ ] Did not pass beer/wine during cocktail hour - [ ] Hardly passed cocktail apps because they were taking so long to reheat - [ ] Did not have sweetheart table meals set before speeches and made bride and groom go through the buffet line - [ ] Changed the ingredients of dinner items (added cheese on top of asparagus) causing some guests with dairy allergy unable to eat Im sure there is more I am not aware of. Everything until the week before was great and I felt confident in the company. I don’t know what happened but stay as far away as you can.

fter that. They showed up to the walk through without any of the samples so we were unable to pick out table settings or linens. They were supposed to email us the options within a few day and we never received them. My wedding planner and I reached out multiple times with no response. I was in a panic the week before the wedding because we still had not received info from them about the ABC license or connected about the table settings/linens. Two days before our wedding the venue reached out to let us know they still did not have the ABC license from the caterer, the day before the wedding Genesis was texting me because they forgot which salad we had picked. The day of the wedding some of the beer selections my husband made were not displayed, they did provide alternatives but did not let us know of the changes in advance, they forgot the kid’s meal we had requested and the final straw was the dessert bar. We had discussed a DIY caramel apple bar with apple slices, caramel for dipping and various topping. We discussed it more than once to ensure they could do it and we were assured it was no problem. What we got on the day of our wedding was a bar of apple crumble sliced into squares. My husband and I were unhappy about it to say the least. Keep in mind this was not a last minute event. We booked with Genesis more than a year in advance, they had more than enough time to prepare for our wedding. We contacted them after the wedding and let them know about the dessert bar and about the kids meal we paid for and did not receive. We were told they would refund us for the mistakes, that was over a month ago and we have not heard back or received anything from them. The food at the wedding was good but their lack of communication and planning was not worth it. We absolutely felt like just another event and that our wedding could not have been more unimportant to Genesis Delight Catering.

got comments like, “your food was probably the best wedding food I’ve ever had” and notes of how the food was still warm once it hit the table (which is not always the case at weddings) and how much people liked the signature drinks (vodka cinnamon apple mule and bourbon manhattan). What we ate: Atlantic salmon with an apple cider glaze, broccolini and confetti orzo; beef medallions (other steaks are an up charge) with a sherry wine demi with mashed potatoes and broccolini, and Frenched chicken with a honey dijon sauce, broccolini, and confetti orzo. All three were so good. We also had 2 vegan plates, which were an additional $12 per plate. Things to keep in mind: I would be hesitant doing a sit down dinner at Sweeney Barn because it took almost 30 minutes to get some tables plated. This is due to Sweeney’s kitchen being downstairs but (most people have) the reception upstairs. Because of this, other catering companies only offer buffet dinners at Sweeney. I THINK this might be avoided with more staff (we had 8 waiters for a 100 person wedding). Just something to consider, if you have a wedding at Sweeney and you have a sitdown dinner. Also, several people did not get cake. We ended up taking home almost a whole sheet of cake (each sheet served 50 people). This is because the staff was handing people plates as they passed them instead of putting them on the tables. I would recommend instructing your caterers to put the cakes on the tables or a single dessert table and having the DJ announce it to avoid this situation. We did not do our food tasting until after we signed the contract. There are pros and cons to this. If you do the food tasting before signing the contract you have to pay for it. If you do it after, its included in your package; however if you dont like the food then youre kind of screwed, so we got lucky the food was delicious. We did NOT get to try everything - we tried our 5 appetizers and each of the entrees but we did not try the salad or the entree sides. We also didnt like one of the appetizers so switched it for another, which we did not get to sample. Overall, Genesis did an exceptional job and as long as the food was so good, I couldn’t ask for much more. My favorite was one of our appetizers - tomato soup with a mini grilled cheese. Presentation was SO cute and it was delicious. During dinner I was so excited I was having a hard time eating the dinner and when I asked for one more tomato soup with grilled cheese, Genesis made it happen. Amazing.

the perfect menu.. Genesis also helped us with rentals for our day, and they handled a lot of the organization of the logistics and flow of the day.. The food was very tasty – the setup was great and they were organized when providing drinks as well. We highly recommend Genesis – they were a fantastic vendor to work with.

Lindsay was responsive, knowledgeable and wonderful to work with; emails were prompt and she helped us think ahead about all the details we needed to stay on top of. We provided our own alcohol for the wedding and Lindsay was super helpful in identifying the appropriate quantities and ensuring we were all set for the big day! We also really appreciated how accommodating Genesis was as we updated our floor plans/seating chart as we approached the wedding; as numbers changed they helped us update our tables and chairs and stayed on top of all our changing details. They were accommodating in setting up our tables and chairs a day early so we could more easily do our decorating; and the tables and chairs looked great! Their staff on the day of the wedding was professional, friendly and provided great service. The food came out great and we had numerous people say how good everything tasted! We highly recommend working with Genesis Delight Catering - they helped make our day so special and delicious!

To our very pleasant surprise, the quality and serving size at the event was the same as it was at the tasting! Despite not being able to cook onsite the meals were still prepared/cooked perfectly. All of our guests raved about the quality and quantity, both of which are significantly above wedding standards. The entire events team worked extremely quickly and were very friendly. They checked in on us multiple times to ensure we had received everything we needed. The night after our wedding we even had all the leftovers for dinner. Couldn't recommend Genesis highly enough.

Our planner, Lindsay, was so helpful in coordinating logistics for this DIY bride, and saved me when I miscounted linens and realized less than 24 hours prior to the rehearsal dinner! The food was as expected for wedding fare at this price point, and guests had positive reviews on the bartenders and appetizers. We picked Genesis because they were the lowest cost approved vendor for Top of the Town and felt like we got a great value. They let us bring in our own alcohol and provided great bar service (staff and mixers) at a reasonable price. There was never a line at the bar. Everything went smoothly on the wedding day, that we know of, and we’d recommend Genesis for someone looking at a caterer in this budget!

t their rustic themed wedding...fried chicken, brisket, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans and rolls were served buffet style and all was well marked if gluten friendly for my daughinlaw...which was much appreciated.... the passed apps of crab cake balls, mini chicken/waffles and charcuterie cones were enjoyed by everyone....our guests raved over the food - every.single.one.of. them!! The staff were professional and pleasant and really impressive as everything was cleaned up and packed and ready to go when the night was over. Genesis Delight was recommended by our venue and I'm so glad we hired them.. .I've 2 more daughters and will keep their number handy!!

She is so easy to work with, offers a great value, and the food was incredible. From the first planning meeting through the day of the event, Dianna and the Genesis Delight team was so easy to work with. Everything exceeded our expectations and we look forward to using them for any future catering needs.

Additionally, many of our guests stated that the service was exceptional. The coordinator at our venue even stated that she has worked with many caterers and that our caterer was excellent, the food was amazing and that the service staff was very helpful and went above and beyond. That says a lot! We are so grateful to this company!
