I want to be fair in my review, so I’ll begin by acknowledging that some of the food was good — specifically the chicken, salmon, appetizers, and roasted vegetables. Those items re...ceived positive feedback from several guests. However, the rest of our experience with Genesis Delight Catering involved major contract violations that overshadowed the positives and created stress no couple should face on their wedding day.
We paid for two bartenders. Only one bartender worked the bar for the entire evening. A second person came to stand behind the bar **only after I complained halfway through dinner service** when I noticed a line forming — and this was already near the end of the wedding. Because of this, champagne was never poured for our toast.
Multiple salads were served with ants on the plates — not one, but several. Salad service had to be stopped entirely. Guests sat with empty plates for an extended period, and as the bride, I had to get up and apologize to people who either received contaminated plates or no plates at all. No bride or groom should ever have to do that at their own wedding.
When dinner finally arrived, the food was lukewarm. The beef was tough, and the **green beans wrapped in bundles** were undercooked and hard. Our photographer and videographer — who were contractually supposed to be served at the same time as us — waited more than ten minutes with no food. When they brought it to our attention, we requested their meals, and this pushed our program back by roughly 30 minutes.
I attempted to resolve these issues privately and professionally. I even suggested a **very small reimbursement** that would simply cover the contaminated salads and the missing bartender — nothing excessive. Instead of accountability, my concerns were minimized, and nearly a month later I am still seeking resolution. This matter is now heading toward a legal dispute, something I never wanted but feel forced into due to the lack of meaningful response.
Weddings are supposed to be joyful, not filled with preventable stress, embarrassment, and post‑event conflict. You should not have to apologize to your guests for ants on their plates, for not receiving plates at all, or still be chasing a catering company for accountability weeks after your event. For the amount we paid and the trust we placed in Genesis Delight Catering, the experience was unacceptable.
I strongly encourage couples to stay away from this company to avoid unnecessary stress on what should be one of the happiest days of your life.
