Gerard Tuxedo

Gerard was our least favorite experience of our whole wedding. Not one tux fit properly. They looked awful. The grooms shirt had a huge stain on it. None of the guys were comfortable because of how ill fitting they were. They were cheaply made with buttons coming off, seams coming undone. The staff present when the tuxes were picked up did not answer any of the questions. We were over charged each tux was supposed to be $119 with 2 free. They were $190 and only 1 free. They were the biggest headache of our wedding.

Gerard Tuxedo was outstanding! We had 11 tuxes with groomsmen, fathers, and ushers, so we were a big group and 10 of us were from out of town. You can imagine out of town measurements may not be reliable (especially when your groomsmen measure themselves), but we had no trouble at all. Jenn and her staff were phenomenal. Ten of us came in the morning before the wedding and they were very patient and helpful with our fittings, and easily made a few minor swaps to have everyone looking sharp. We were very impressed with the overall experience - no appointment was needed, very personable, hands on, excellent customer service (all in contrast to another place we visited). The tuxes looked great and you can't beat the service, we highly recommend Gerard Tuxedo!

A year before the big day, we stopped in to check out the shop and ended up being so impressed that we booked with Gerard. They had a special running on the type of tuxes that we wanted, and we really appreciated that the Groom's tux was free with all of the other rentals. They also have tons of color options for ties/vests/pocket squares! We had seen their many glowing reviews online, and had no reason to believe that the wedding week wouldn't go smoothly. However, that was unfortunately not the case. We were required to provide our measurements 5 months prior to wedding day, which we think may have been a factor that resulted in the pants being ill-fitting on almost everyone. Gerard communicated that any adjustments needed to be submitted 2 days before the wedding, which we complied with, and that everything would be ready by Noon on the day before the wedding. One groomsman's tux was not ready on Friday by Noon (it had to be picked up at 4pm), and the brother of the groom was initially given a jacket with a ripped pocket, missing button, and uneven arm lengths. The Groom's tux had loose strings hanging from the pant seams which we not taken care of, and the Bride's father was initially informed that his adjusted jacket wouldn't be ready until 90 minutes before the wedding ceremony was scheduled to begin, which is completely unacceptable. These issues created unnecessary stress on the bridal party in the days leading up to the wedding, and our perception was that the staff we worked with during those days were very inexperienced. The Groom received three varying opinions on whether his pants fit properly by the 3 associates in the shop at the time. We hope our experience was a fluke and possibly a result of staff turnover, because we had such high hopes in our initial interactions with Gerard and they really let us down in the end.

Affordable and great to work with for our tuxes!

We got 8 tuxedos and 2 ring bearer tuxedos and everyone looked great! The small details that needed to be fixed that week (hem on pants, bigger shoes), were done in a timely manner and everyone was very happy with how they turned out

We purchased our groomsmen accessories here since our guys didn't wear tuxedos. We LOVED the wide variety of color choices! I thought we'd be challenged in matching our guys ties with my bridesmaids dresses, since I had each girl choose her own dress within a range of purples. But! It was no problem! The selection, service, and pricing is great, we were able to get the accessories and separates we needed and the guys looked wonderful. Thank you Jenn and staff!

We were very happy with our choice of using Gerard Tuxedo for our wedding rentals. We had first looked at Men's Warehouse, but then realized that Gerard's could offer the same items at a much better price. And the staff is so friendly! We had 13 tuxes to rent, most of them were for out-of-towners, and three for children. But the process was so simple! Even the guys out of state could get their measurements easily, and we were able to pick everything up when each person was available for fittings. There were no complaints about the clothes or anything, and we had a full two days before having to return everything. We were very happy with the price, the customer service, the final outcome, and everything!

I wanted so badly to be happy with Gerard's, but unfortunately they fell short. I do not doubt that they do good work, as most reviews reflect a positive experience, however I would like to voice the experience my husband and I had. We went in to the store a few months before the wedding and looked at some swatches of tie colors to go with the suitcoat. I picked a charcoal gray color, the girl helping us wrote everything down so they would know exactly what to order. A few weeks before the wedding, we receive a voicemail asking what color ties we chose- charcoal gray or bubblegum pink. Bubblegum pink would have NEVER been an option for us. It was never even a color we had considered or mentioned in our first consultation. I appreciate them taking the time to call and confirm, however I do not understand how there could have been confusion on this since we had specifically taken time to go in and choose our color and have it written down in our file for reference. I understand mistakes happen, it wasn't a big deal. After that incident, we were told by a staff member one of our groomsmen had not paid a deposit for his suit. My husband reached out to his friend, only to be informed he HAD in fact paid more than the down payment owed on his suit. We went back to the store to make them aware of this, only to be told, "Oh yes, he did pay I see it right here" while 10 minutes before we were being told there was no such payment reflected. This was embarrassing for us to have to reach out to one of our closest friends and have him stress that his payment was never received. The owner assured us she would be taking the utmost care of us and personally look after our orders moving forward from that point. All of the groomsmen and groom had their first fitting a few months before the wedding, the day of their second fitting, there were many issues with things not fitting them correctly. there were baggy pants when we specifically requested slim fit- they didn't have that written down (big surprise) oversized or shrunken shirts/ suitcoats. And to top it all off they gave my father and father in law the complete WRONG COLOR of tuxedo. Gray suit coat, pants, and black tie and vest... really?? That would never look good together! I understand they have a second fitting for a reason, but for things to completely not fit 3 days before the wedding is not okay, and I would expect better from a top rated company. I really wish we would have had a better experience especially with the money everyone had paid, but unfortunately that was not what happened. Sincerely, A disappointed customer

Working with Gerard's was great! My groom and six groomsmen all wore the new navy blue tuxedos and looked great!! It was such a good decision to go with the navy blue - they really looked sharp :) I recommend Gerard's! Great service and quality.

Gerard's tuxedo is the place to go for your formal wear! They did such a wonderful job in fitting the tuxes for my husband for our wedding, the groomsmen, my father and my father in law. They were so easy to work with and the prices were a steal considering the absolutely fantastic service we received. They made adjustments to all of the guy's tuxes as needed to make sure they all looked great the day of. My husband actually was able to take two of the tux coats home (one was smaller, the other larger) so he could decide the day of which one he would prefer - they did this with no extra cost and no problem at all! Truly a wonderful company that we will highly recommend to anyone for future use.

Gerard tuxedo is a great local mom and pop shop, they care so much more about the customer than the big chain shops. Not only did they have everyone try on their tuxedo, if you had a problem with the way it fit, they did everything in their power to fix it to not only their formal etiquette standards but also the groomsmen's comfortability standards. Their whole thing is that the guys need to feel comfortable to be confident in the tuxedo, but if they feel something looks bad they will educate you on why, and how it should look. Jenn Gerard the owner gets a 100/10, shes flawless in her work and gives every single customer her best.

We chose Gerard Tuxedo for our groomsmen. They had a nice selection. The guys were able to pick their tuxedos up several days before the wedding and even if big changes needed to be made in the fit of their tuxes we were assured that they would be ready for Saturday. Small alterations like hemming pants they did in store while we waited. I'm very happy with how everyone looked.

The guys all looked amazing at the wedding! The tuxes fit great and for a 1/3 of the price of what other places quoted us. There was no hassle for out of town grooms and the service there was amazing. They took the time to dress mannequins up in all the different ideas we had in order to make sure we picked what was perfect for us. Great place to work with and I would recommend it to anyone!

I went to Gerard Tuxedo with my boyfriend for my prom last year and they really helped us out. Not only were they able to match his vest to my jade dress without a problem, but they also explained each style to us and made sure he looked his best. The customer service was amazing and the prices were much better than everywhere we looked previously. We were both very happy with what we got and really felt like they cared about our needs. I would recommend Gerard Tuxedo to anyone who needs tuxes for any event/ wedding.

My boyfriend and I went around to several tux shops before finally settling on Gerard's. They were so kind and helpful, he went back to them the next year also. We felt that the employees truly cared how the tuxedo fit, and looked. They went above and beyond any other shop offered. Their prices were also the cheapest in the area.

We had a wonderful experience with Gerard Tuxedo. We had a large number of tuxes (14) and they did very well with getting us all of the right sizes. Most of our men were from out of the area and they did a wonderful job of working with them as well. There was a size issue for one person, which was quickly fixed. We also received multiple free tuxes due to the number of rentals we signed up for. We would use them again and have already referred others to them who have also had a wonderful experience.

Absolutely fantastic service here--they are patient, work well with you, called us when tuxes were in, etc. Stellar. I was so happy we finally found this place (incidentally, RIGHT next to where I got my wedding dress at Diane's Dream Bridal, and we got a discounted tux package because they're partner vendors), as my (now!) husband was a bit of a groomzilla when it came to tuxes. He got a charcoal gray morning suit, they were able to accommodate different ascots he preferred for different members of his party, etc. The tuxes cost just as much as Men's Wearhouse, or President Tuxedo (the only place I saw where they required money for a chance to even get a deposit.. bizarre), but they actually tailor the tuxes. Jennifer, the owner, said, "I refuse to let anyone walk out of here in a bad suit." Any tweaks, from arm length to waist fitting, is all taken care of as part of the package! All for a rental! When my husband asked Men's Wearhouse if they could do anything about sleeve length, they said, "No. We have standard tuxes that we have to make sure fit the next guy." Gerard? "No problem! We do all those changes for free a few days before the wedding, but let's take measurements to get the best fitting tux possible."

My husband, groomsman, and fathers had a wonderful experience with Gerards Tuxedo. We received complimebts on how good the groomsman looked as well! They were flexible and easy to work with from start yo finish, and their prices were great (no hidden fees like some other chains). Overall we had a wonderful experience and highly reccommend. The owner, Jen, runs a great shop!

loved working with them for my husbands tuxes. they are way better then mens wearhouse. i just loved the tuxes on the boys they were so handsome and it was an amazing price which they always have good deals on everything

This place is wonderful. We went there in October for a friend's wedding and they were so great that we decided to use them for our own. Not only did the owner personally assist us but she put up with my indecisive husband as well! He had a few ideas in his head and she went through all of the options with him to pick out exactly what he wanted. They have great customer service and are great to work with. We had a few issues with some stuff not fitting correctly, but everything was fixed by the next day. I highly recommend them, especially if you want to stay away from the big chain rental places.

We really enjoyed working with Jen and the staff! The staff was more than helpful when we went to go pick out the tuxedo's. We felt very welcome and the guys and dads looked amazing in their tux's!

They did such an awesome job with our entire wedding party after a few adjustments several days before the wedding everyone looked great! Jennifer was great and very helpful! They had way better pricing and help then places like Men's and President. I reccomend them to anyone getting tuxedos!!!

My guys looked amazing for my wedding! I couldn't have been happier! I had a few groomsmen that were out of town and Gerard Tuxedo made it so easy to make sure they got their measurements and suits. Jenn, the owner, and her staff were so helpful and willing to go that extra mile for us since my wedding was being held on the other side of the state. Their pricing is amazing compared to the "big chains". My husband said at Gerard they actually cared about how you looked. They went over everything with him and made sure everything fitted correctly. One of our groomsmen need a quick alteration and they did it right there on the spot which was really nice!! I would recommend this company to anyone that wants to make sure their guys look awesome for their wedding day! THANK YOU GERARD TUXEDO!!

I love Gerard Tuxedo! My family has used them for all of our tuxedo needs, including my own wedding. Jenn, the owner, and her staff are very knowledgable and will ALWAYS go the extra mile to make sure your day is perfect. When we had an unfortunate unexpected death in our immediate family she was able to get our pall bearers suits in a matter of two days and came to the funeral with replacements in hand! I will forever be grateful to her and all of her staff! BTW all of the guys BIG and small for my wedding were fit perfectly! I would recommend her to any and everyone! U will not be disappointed. :)

I worked directly with Jenn Gerard for the groom party tuxedos. She was fantastic to work with. Very patient and willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were all happy. I felt that we could trust Jenn to make sure our day went off without a hitch and she came through for us. The tuxedos were great, exactly what we wanted. Affordable, pressed perfectly, clean, and sized right for our all our men. She and her associates were always willing to go the extra mile for us. Hey...they were even able to handle a stressed out bride and make her smile!! Kudos to the team at Gerard Tuxedo in Livonia!!

good value but they had everyone come in and get fitted months in advance and when they came back to make sure they were ready for pick up, they didn't fit anyone!! there were short pants, oversized or shrunken shirts, wrong sizes for everyone, wrong colors, etc. And they were rude about it too. wish we had a better experience and we will never come back!!!

Gerard's prices are way lower than Presidents or the other tuxedo places, and carry similar deals - my tux was free because I had at least 4 groomsmen. They had a decent variety of suits from good labels, in a number of colors and textures. They were able to do some fast turnaround size adjustments for a number of my groomsmen either on site or the next day, and were extremely helpful throughout the entire process.

I found out about Gerard at a bridal show and I am so glad that I did! They were by far the most affordable company we found and they actually dress a mannequin in the different options so you (and your groom) can see what the tux, vest, tie and shirt look like together. This was a wonderful option for us, my husband is a very visual person and it helped him alot to see all the pieces together!
